“You shouldn’t have come.”
“Yes, I should.” He turned his attention back to her face. “I
waited as long as I could and it nearly killed me. The guys are in good places
in their lives, they were bringing all this happy-happy-joy-joy shit into the
studio and I was destroying them with death chords. I could have been the
reincarnation of Mahler. But you know what? It totally worked. It sounds so
cool, Cyn. Now I’m happy too so I don’t know what the fuck is going to come
out. But I want to find out.” He kissed her. “With you.”
“I can come. I should, to let Gil spread his wings a bit.
Having me in the store every day is cramping his style. I can bring my pencils,
pads and laptop and get on with designing the new range. I have a few ideas,
not just the auto one, and I need to get to work on them.”
His face broke into a smile, as sunny as any she’d ever seen
on him. “For a man with a reputation for moodiness I’m grinning far too much. I
don’t care either. We’re married and I love you and we’re in the same bed and I
love you. And we’re both doing what we want.”
“Yes, we are.”
“Don’t you ever regret giving up Wagner? He was a genius too.”
She laughed. “Wagner? Far too depressing. That’s why I
packed it in. I saw the years stretching ahead, full of doom and death and
world domination and I hated it. I’ve never been so depressed. Except maybe
these last few weeks.”
He kissed her for that and when they finally separated they
were breathing harder. She brought her knees to his torso and sat, leaning her
hands on his chest. “Now you know all my secrets. Time to make some more.”
Lynne Connolly writes for a number of online publishers. She
writes paranormal romance, contemporary romance and historical romance. She is

number of Recommended Reads etc., from review sites.
While these are very gratifying, that isn't why she writes.
She wants to bring the stories in her head to life and share them with others,
in the hope that they might give her some peace.
She lives in the UK with her family, cat and dollhouses.
Creating worlds on paper or in miniature seems to be her specialty!
