“
W
ake up you stupid wolf.” Someone grunts as they kick me in my ribs.
I groan as I curl into a ball and fight to open my eyes.
“Ah, there she is.” The voice states as I’m kicked again. “Did you get what you needed from her?”
“Yes, I did. We were able to get even more than we had hoped for, Sully.” Another voice answers.
“Good, now we just need to find a way to inject it into those other wolves and see what comes out, especially considering she is so strong I have high hopes for the pups they produce.” Sully replies as he grabs a handful of my hair before pulling me to my feet roughly.
Gage growls out from beside me and the man turns me to look at him chained against the wall once more.
“I should punish you for killing some of our people.” Sully spits out as he snaps my head back painfully. “But since you and your mate gave us what we wanted I will only give you a warning this time. Do it again and she will find out the pleasures of a real man.”
I whimper as his free hand trails just under my torn shirt.
Gage growls fiercely. “I will kill you slowly if you even think about touching my mate that way again.”
His hand thankfully falls and he barks out in laughter. “You’re all talk, Gage. You have yet to even lay a hand on me.”
“Let me free of these chains and we will see, Sully.” Gage spits out.
“I don’t think so. I will let you free but just remember just who I have in my grasp. You try anything and I will cut her pretty little throat open without a second thought. I know you alphas can’t heal that kind of wound quick enough.” Sully warns as the chains fall off of Gage and a blade is placed to my throat.
Gage lunges for him but stops at the last moment. “Watch your back, Sully.”
Sully nods before motioning Gage to go forward.
Changing into his wolf form Gage walks through the open door and out into a long hallway similar to the one Damon and I had walked down.
I listen to the clicks of Gage’s nails on the hard floor as Sully guides me after him with my neck at an awkward angle.
“Where are the others that were with us?” I squeak out.
“Don’t worry your pretty little head. They are safe and sound in the new cell I’m taking you to.” Sully answers gruffly.
Moments later we arrive at a door where a guard stands waiting for us. “It’s about time you brought them back, Sully. Those two in there have about destroyed everything in the room trying to escape.”
“Damn it, these mutts are going to cost us a fortune.” Sully growls before motioning towards the door right across the hall. “Is there anything in there right now?”
“No, Sir, that room is empty.” The guard answers.
“Alright, we will move them all into that cell then.” Sully replies.
“Sir, we can’t move them all without more guards.” The guard stutters with fear.
“They won’t be a problem, will they, Sweetheart.” Sully whispers into my ear.
“No, they won’t be a problem.” I agree.
Thinking quickly, I silently order Rowan and Damon to take on their human forms and to stop their rampage.
Gage takes on his human form as well as he turns to face me with a soft smile.
“Open the door, Gage.” Sully orders.
Gage moves quickly to open the door and both Rowan and Damon rush out but stop as soon as they see me.
“Open the other cell.” Sully then orders the guard.
He stands still for a moment frozen in fear before he moves to open the door across the hall.
Rowan, Gage, and Damon all walk in calmly but turn to wait for me to be pushed in with them.
With one smooth move Sully tosses me in and then grabs hold of the guard tossing him in with us but without a weapon.
The door slams shut as the guard pounds on it in terror. “Please, don’t leave me in here with them.” He begs.
“There is no room for fear in this job.” Sully replies harshly before walking away.
Rowan and Gage growl fiercely as they stalk closer to the poor guard.
“Don’t harm him.” I order before pushing past them to kneel down to the guard as he curls himself into a tight ball as he begins weeping.
“Why not, he is our enemy after all.” Rowan snarls.
I glance back at him. “We aren’t those kinds of wolves, we don’t kill the innocent.”
Turning my attention back towards the guard I place my hand gently on his arm and he whimpers loudly with fear.
“I’m not going to hurt you.” I reassure.
His eyes finally rise to meet my own in surprise. “You’re not?”
I shake my head with a smile. “No, we’re not.”
Damon moves to my side. “How old are you?”
“I’m eighteen.” The guard answers.
Gage curses behind us. “You can’t be serious. They threw a boy in here for us to kill just because he was afraid?”
“Does Sully do this often?” I question curiously.
The guard nods sadly. “He did it just yesterday with a friend of mine and then forced a group of us to watch as he was torn limb-from-limb while screaming out in agony.”
“Holy…” Rowan whispers this time.
“Well, we aren’t going to do that to you.” I promise. “Is there anyone else that will get you out of here without you being killed?”
He nods. “Yeah, later in the day when Sully leaves a woman in a lab coat comes through the cells checking on everyone. She hates Sully for what he does to us and she should help me out.”
“Good, we just need to keep you safe until then.” I sigh.
Wiping away his tears the guard looks up at me gratefully. “Thank you.”
I nod. “Don’t thank me yet, but when you do get out of here run away from this place and never come back because next time you may not get so lucky.”
He nods before I move away.
Gage opens his arms to me and I fall into his embrace as I bury my head into his chest. “I can’t believe this place.”
“I know, Babe, I know.” He whispers softly.
“Parker, what’s going on in there?”
Dillon chimes into my head.
“It’s bad in here, Dillon. I don’t know how we’re going to get out of here.”
I reply.
“Well, it isn’t much better out here. London found us right after you broke your bond with him and he’s pissed.”
Dillon grunts.
“He knew it would happen.”
I sigh.
“What is he planning on doing?”
“He wants to storm in there and take you back.”
Magnus answers this time.
I curse out loud and Gage leans back with a raised brow.
“London wants to storm in here to save me from you.” I sigh roughly.
“Well, he’s more than welcome to try if he wants to, but I highly doubt he will get through the front gate alive.” Gage replies.
Changing the subject he glances back towards Damon before searching my eyes. “How many pack members do you have outside these walls?”
“Two, and before you get mad at who they are please keep an open mind.” I beg.
“Who are they?” Gage clips out.
“Dillon and Harley are in my pack.” I reply quickly as I wait for him to scream.
With angry eyes Gage takes a step back before turning his back towards me.
“How the hell did you end up with those two in your pack, better yet how did you recruit a Hunter of all people?” Rowan snarls with anger as he steps in front of me.
His response was what I had expected from Gage.
It hurt worse that Gage had just turned his back to me.
“Harley was a Hunter as well, but little did I know that so was my brother Alex. My father held a lot of secrets. One being, that he had worked hand-in-hand with a group of Hunters living near our home.” I motion towards Damon behind me. “He saved my life more than once from London, and the only reason I changed him was because I almost killed him.”
I sigh roughly before continuing on. “Then Harley almost died saving me yet again from Derek when he shoved a knife through my back.”
Gage’s head swings back quickly with a look of shock. “He turned on you?”
I nod sadly. “Yes, he did, but it wasn’t him who tried to kill Harley. It was London who cut her throat. He did give me his wolf in order to save her though.”
“He gave her his wolf?” Rowan questions in confusion.
I nod. “He did and honestly it’s been a trip between Harley and the wolf inside her, Magnus. He has taken good care of her for me though.”
“Alright, that explains them but you need to tell me why London’s second has joined your group.” Gage grunts as he moves to stand next to Rowan.
“He came to me almost dead from London beating him. He renounced his place with London. He pleaded with me to just kill him but since he knew more than I did about London I decided to use him.” I reply.
“Has he been loyal?” Gage questions.
I nod. “He has been.”
“Will they all swear their loyalty to me now that I am your mate?” Gage questions next.
Glancing back to Damon he nods slightly as he moves to my side.
“We will.” He answers for me and then smiles sheepishly. “I would now but I honestly have no clue how to do that.”
Gage stares at him for a moment before barking out in laughter. “Your words are good enough for now.”
Damon nods. “Thank god, because I was scared I’d have to do something weird.”
This time I laugh as I smack his arm playfully. “You’ve got a lot to learn, pup.”
He nods before holding out his hand to Gage. “You have my word that I will do anything you ask as long as it’s not weird or anything like that.”
Gage laughs wholeheartedly as he shakes Damon’s hand. “Weird only comes later when I choose a mate for you.”
Damon’s eyes go wide before he looks to me quickly.
“I’ve already promised him Harley.” I reply placing him at ease.
Gage raises his brow to me.
“We came up with an agreement a while ago and I promised her to him in order to have his loyalty.” I explain.
“Is that why he’s loyal now, because that may become a problem later on if something should happen to her?”
Gage inquires inside my head.
“He’s loyal to me no matter what, especially after what we’ve been through together.”
I answer.
Gage nods before opening up his mind to Dillon and Harley.
“Are you two willing to be loyal to me?”
“Yes, we all will be loyal to you, Gage.”
Dillon replies.
“You know me. I will be loyal to you, Gage.”
Harley chimes in before allowing Magnus to speak.
“I am loyal to you, alpha, for as long as you are paired with Parker.”
Magnus responds exactly the way I had figured.
Gage smiles proudly. “It looks like we’ve got one hell of a pack.”
“Yes, it does.” I agree as I place myself back into Gage’s arms.
“Now, we just need to get out of this hell hole so we can be a real pack.” Rowan states abruptly.
I nod in agreement.
But I was beginning to wonder how we would ever get out of this place without ending up with our whole pack locked away in here with us.
“Do you think you can talk some sense into London for me?”
I question Dillon.
“I might be able to, but you know him he does what he wants.”
He replies.
“Yes, but if he doesn’t come up with a plan with us we will never get out of here alive.”
I argue.
“I’ll see what I can do.”
Dillon sighs before going silent.
“As much as I hate that bastard for what he did to us I sure hope he listens to reason so we can get out of here.” Gage sighs as he places his chin on my head.
“I hope so too, Gage.” I whisper back.
