The girls started chattering and they smiled at each
other with that knowing glance. Faith and Trey were back. There
were no words as to how they felt right now. They know they’re
ready for anything this night brought them. Trey reached in his
pocket and put something in Faith’s hand. She recognized her
earpieces. She smiled and took them. Before she would’ve hated
using them, but now they’re her tie to the man she loved. She
slipped them in as he handed her another pair to give to Eve. She
slipped her hand in Eve’s, holding it for a second then released
the earpieces into her hand. She glanced at her smiling, sand said,
“It’s time to party.”

Faith asked Trey, “Are we walking the few blocks to
the hotel.”

He said, “No, here comes our ride now.”

She saw a white limo pulling up in front of them. He
touched her face with his hand as he said, “I thought we could ride
around town for a while, have a few drinks first, and get in the
party mood.”

The girls were so excited they jumped in finding a
comfortable spot and Faith waited for Trey to show her where he
wanted her to sit. That’s so not like her, but she felt like a lady
tonight. Trey’s lady.

CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO

Trey

Trey couldn’t take his eyes off Faith as she walked
out of the dressing room. He wanted to fall down on one knee and
ask her to marry him tonight. He realized he couldn’t hold back his
feelings anymore for her and he didn’t think she wanted him to any
longer. He contacted Ty and told him he wanted the limo for a few
hours. They’d keep the girls with them for a while. Then Trey had a
surprise for Faith he thought she’d love it. He poured champagne
for everyone. Toasting the most beautiful ladies in Chicago.

They spent an hour laughing, talking, and drinking,
and then Ty came over his earpiece saying, “It’s time to take the
others to the bar. I’ll meet you and Faith at the airport.” Trey
told the driver to take them to the bar. As they pulled up Faith
started to get out.

He grabbed her hand, telling the others, “Faith and
I will meet you in about two or three hours. Be careful and have
fun ladies.” Faith glanced at him with a curious look on her face
but didn’t say a word. They let the girls out and continued to the
airport. Trey told her he had a special surprise for her tonight.
They made it to the airport to find the helicopter waiting for
them.

She had a surprised look on her face. “Where are we
going, Trey?”

He leaned in and kissed her lightly, “Let’s get in
and I’ll explain on the way.” Faith shook her head in agreement,
climbing into the helicopter.

Trey leaned in smiling, “We’re going out for dinner
on the top of Chicago Hearts Hotel. I wanted it to be only the two
of us. It shouldn’t be long now we’re almost there.” Trey pointed
down to the top of the hotel and candles light the rooftop, with a
sign saying I love you, Faith. She covered her mouth with her hands
and tears started to flow.

She turned to him smiling, “I love you too
Trey,”

They landed the helicopter on the roof. They jumped
out waving at Ty. The rooftop was beautiful, however, nothing
compared to the beauty Trey saw in Faith. He walked over to her,
straightening the strand of hair from her face, pulling her to him
kissing her longingly. They slowly pull apart, he motioned for her
to take a seat. The music started to play, and then the waiter came
out to take their order.

Faith stared at him like he’s crazy. Trey told the
waiter. “We’ll have the best champagne in the house. And surprise
us with the best dishes in the house has to offer.” He nodded and
left quietly. Trey stood up and reached out his hand to Faith,
“Dance with me, Faith, and dance through the rest of our lives with
me. I’m going to ask you to marry me. As soon as we finish this
operation, Faith, and we know who murdered your parents. I’m going
to marry you.”

She stared up at him. “When all of this craziness is
over and we know who murdered my parents. We will know who murdered
Faith Tallberg and her husband too. Then we’ll be able to put so
much of our past behind us. I might take you up on that offer.”

Holding her close Treys heart melted. He would
cherish this moment with her and he knew he’d never take love for
granted again. They finished their dance and had a quiet dinner,
enjoying each other’s company. All he could think about was making
love to this gorgeous lady and making her his wife one day soon.

The waiter came back asking, “Do you want dessert
now, sir?”

Trey quietly whispered “Yes, we’ll take some melted
chocolate and whipped cream. Then we won’t need you anymore.” He
smiled and left with that knowing look on his face.

Faith asked, “What did you order us for
dessert?”

It’s a surprise and here it comes
now. Come over to the table with me.”

She left the edge of the roof top and came back to
the table. The waiter had left, leaving only the chocolate and
whipped cream. She glanced at the bowls and smiled. “Who’s first?
Please say me.” The October air was a little chilly as Trey slowly
undressed her, however, she didn’t seem to mind the night air. The
chocolate tasted delicious on her now glistening skin. Trey laid
Faith down on the table, and drizzled the chocolate to her now
shivering body.

Faith gasped, “Oh my, Trey, it’s so hot! I love it,
please don’t stop.” He took the cool whipped cream and dabbed the
chocolate atop her breasts.

He leaned down, kissing her, “Now it’s time for my
dessert.”

They were lost in the pleasures that only they could
give one another. Uniting as one in a wild, fiery furnace, the heat
waves kept coming. They finally collapsed in utter exhaustion. They
laughed as Trey helped her off the table. She smiled happily.

I guess I’ll take a rain check on
my turn.” He held her close to him, feeling the overwhelming urge
to take her away from all the drama and the job. To keep her safe
from harm forever, however, he knew they both had to finish this
operation. They had to put everyone away that had anything to do
with the murder of her parents.

Somewhere in the distance, Trey heard the helicopter
coming back. He exclaimed, “Faith, oh crap, we have to get our
clothes on right now. Ty will be able to see us before we see
him.”

Faith was already taking the wet towel the waiter
brought with the chocolate and whipped cream trying to finish
wiping the rest of the sticky, sweet mess off her body. Trey
snatched his clothes up hurrying to put them on. He couldn’t
believe how hard it was to put leather pants on when you’re wet
with sweat. “Where is my purse? I need to fix my hair and put some
fresh lipstick on.” He threw it to her as he put his shirt on.

She’s smiled at him saying, “Come here and let me
fix your hair. I have your gel in my purse.” She slowly put the gel
on her hands, rubbing them together. He knew she’s teasing him. He
walked over and she ran her fingers through his hair. It felt so
heavenly. They heard Ty coming closer now, he circled around and
came back. They walked over to the edge of the roof waiting for Ty.
They stood overlooking Chicago, the lights were beautiful and the
stars were out tonight. The breeze blowing through their hair felt
fantastic. Both of them hated to see Ty coming, but they knew they
had a job to finish.

Trey held Faith close and whispered, “Are you sure
you want Mr. Moore’s men to take you again.”

She quietly said, “No, I don’t want them to.
However, we have to let them or this will never end. I wish I knew
what they want from me. Mr. Moore went through everything in my
parents’ storage unit when I was twelve years old, piece by piece.
Then he snatched my teddy bear my dad give me for my birthday that
year right out of my arms and threw it in the unit too. He told me,
‘You’ll never need that again.’ I begged him to let me keep the
teddy bear. He slapped me in the face saying, ‘When you turn 25 you
can have it and everything else in here. It’s all worthless to
me.’”

Trey grabbed her turning her around to face him.
“You have a storage unit with your parents things in it and you
never told any of us about it.”

She shook her arm loose from his grasp. “I forgot
about it, besides, he tore everything to pieces looking for
whatever he needs.” He stood silent thinking for a second.

Oh my God, Faith, whatever he’s
looking for is in that storage unit. We’ll send Ty to look through
everything again, but we still have to follow thru with tonight. To
make sure we get him this time.” Ty landed the helicopter and they
climbed inside, they’re both ready to get this operation started
now. At least they had a piece of the puzzle.

Trey explained everything to Ty as he took off. Ty
asked Faith, “Do you have a key to the locker or do I need to do my
magic?”

She shook her head “no”.

It’s okay, Faith. We will find the
information Mr. Moore is looking for and maybe we’ll bring back
your teddy bear too. You just remember to take care of yourself
tonight if Mr. Moore gets his hands on you.” Then he took off his
ring and put it on her thumb.

If things get too bad and you
really need us to step in, just rub the side of this ring until it
gets warm. I promise I’ll be there for you. Nothing means more to
me than you. You will come first tonight, Faith, everyone knows
you’re not to get hurt ever again.”

They were back at the airport now and the limo was
waiting for them. They said goodbye to Ty and run to the limo.
Within a few minutes, Trey and Faith were standing outside the bar.
He turned to Faith and held her close and kissed her passionately.
“Let’s get this show on the road, Faith.” He glanced down at her as
they walked in the bar. She was gorgeous and this time, she was the
classy lady walking beside him. It’s amazing how all eyes turned to
her as she walked into a room. Time stood still as he followed her
to their table. She waited for him to help her with her chair. He
glanced around the bar. Eve nor Roni was anywhere to be found.
Katie was coming back from the restroom Trey sees she’d been
crying. He made sure his earpiece was turned back on.

Katie, Eli, where is Eve and
Roni?”

He heard a sob and Katie whispered, “I’m almost to
your table. I’ll explain when I set down.” Trey stared into Faith’s
eyes. She knew this operation’s started without either one of
them.

CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE

Faith

Katie sat down, Faith could tell she’s afraid to
tell Trey what’d happened within the last two hours.

Trey immediately started, “What the hell has
happened to Eve, Katie? Where is my sister?”

Eli broke in. “Go easy on her, Trey. Eve left and on
her own we all were unable to stop her. She wouldn’t listen to any
warning Katie or I gave.” Faith saw it’s obvious Katie was afraid
Trey would blame her, however, he knew Eve didn’t listen to anyone.
She touched Trey’s hand and he glanced her way, realizing he’d
scared Katie. He softly explained to her, “I know it’s not your
fault, Katie. My sister is strong minded and she listens only to
her big brothers. In addition, she understands we protect her and
we approve of her living her own life. So let’s start at the
beginning and you clarify everything for me.  Please
understand, Katie, it’s crucial we know the whole conversation you
and Eve had before she left.” Letting her know she’s not to blame,
Trey took her hand in his, squeezing it tightly.

Calm down, Katie, all you have to
do is speak to us.” Katie took a deep breath as if she were under
water and coming up for air. She plunged straightway into her
explanation.

Eve and Roni kept their heads
together for about an hour. I might as well have been invisible. I
recognized something evil was going to happen. Eve told me, ‘I’m
taking Roni home with me early.’” Katie shook her head as if
remembering.

I tried to go with her, but she
refused to let me go. She left with that spiked headed bitch
hanging on her arm, smiling as they walked out the door.” Tears
glistened in Katie’s eyes now.

I don’t know what’s happening,
Trey. I know enough about your family to know Eve doesn’t go
anywhere alone. Especially without you guys knowing where she’s at
and what she’s doing. She wouldn’t listen, Trey, to me or Eli. We
tried to convince her to wait on you and Faith. I started to follow
them, then Eli from the band said to stay and wait for you and
Faith.” She stare into Faith’s eyes saying, “Now what are our
plans?”

Katie, you have to remain right
here no matter what takes place. Eli will instruct you as to what
you will do. When you need to react we know you will do whatever it
takes to bring Eve home. You have to listen to him tonight. Trey
and I’ll be having an eventful evening getting Eve back. If we need
help we’ll let Eli know.”

Trey placed his face in his hands and Faith touched
his shoulder. “Okay, Trey, at this moment it’s time to consider all
options. Roni and Mr. Moore presented a variation in plans so now
it’s time to rethink our strategy. Trey contact Ty, send him to
your house. He’ll be familiar with where to go.” Trey raised his
head up with a smile.

Yes, the safe room. He can go in
through the safe room without anyone knowing he’s made his way into
the house.” Then he glared at Katie. “You pretend you’re deaf right
now, Katie. Don’t ever repeat anything you hear tonight. Do I make
myself clear?”

I’m not hearing or seeing anything
Trey. Stop being a bully! You’re wasting precious time talking to
me that way. Please get Eve back home safe and sound. She’s my one
of my best friend.”
