A hoot of laughter came from his stunned cousin before he easily took a champagne glass from a passing server, lifted it to his lips for a sip, and said in an amused tone of voice, “You were right, Adeline. This is going to be an entertaining night.”

Cameron ignored him and headed toward his date.

***

Although accustomed to fancy social gatherings such as this, Melanie felt a wave of discomfort as soon as she made it through the sea of paparazzi and into the brightly lit ballroom of the mansion. She had the distinct feeling that every eye was on her, which was silly as there were easily a hundred people there, and she was no celebrity to warrant that kind of attention. Shaking off her jitters, she looked into the crowd of formally attired businessmen and women, celebrities and socialites, for Cameron. The moment her eyes found him, she relaxed and smiled. He was easily winding his way through the crowd, dodging guests seeking his attention, as he moved to her.

She met him halfway, thinking all the while that Cameron looked every inch the dashing host of this particularly popular event. Like most of the men, he was wearing a classic black tuxedo. His hair was parted and swept back, giving him a very refined and sophisticated look, and the slight stubble that had lined his cheeks yesterday was gone. Elegance, handsomeness, and sophistication...this man represented them all.

Melanie was thinking of something to say when he leaned close and whispered in her ear, “You look lovely, Melanie, but I’m beginning to think I should have saved that dress for another night. It’s making me wish I could take you upstairs and act out every fantasy running through my mind right now.”

It wasn’t said seductively, or even teasingly. Had he been teasing, she would have laughed. As he lifted his head, and she caught sight of the burning lust in his eyes, she recognized that he was serious.

Trying to make light of what was promising to be a tense, steamy moment, she replied, “You aren’t so bad yourself.”

An easy grin touched his lips, and Melanie smiled.

“Aren’t you going to introduce us, Cam?” The person who spoke had an accent similar to Cameron’s.

The grin vanished, and Cameron glared over her head. Curious, Melanie turned, only to find that Cameron’s arm had curved possessively about her waist. What she found standing in front of her were two different versions of Cameron. They each had the same trademarks: impeccably sculpted features, long pointed nose, firm jaw line and chin, and thin yet curved lips. However, the younger of the two had red hair and green eyes, while the other sported dark hair and light blue eyes like Cameron. Both were handsome, but didn’t hold a candle to Cameron.

“Aiden, Brendan, this lovely lady is Melanie Samuels, my date. Melanie, meet my brothers, Aiden”—he indicated the one with the dark hair, who was grinning from ear to ear—“and Brendan”—he indicated the redhead, who wore a similar expression on his face.

As they proceeded to lay on the charm—thick—Melanie wondered if there was an older gentleman walking around who’d passed it on to his sons. Moments later, she got the answer to her question when she met Sebastian Mackintosh, Sr. While he had to be at least in his fifties, the man was suave, perhaps even more so than his sons.

The night progressed quickly for Melanie, who couldn’t help but enjoy herself. Cameron was right about his family. They were an interesting bunch and not in a bad way. The toughest had been a petite girl by the name of Adeline, who’d given her the equivalent of the third degree as Cameron played host to his other guests. At first, Melanie had been offended by the endless questions, but she’d quickly recognized they weren’t meant to upset her when the entire family had chimed in with questions of their own over the course of the night. They all seemed genuinely curious about her. So she answered as honestly as possible. Two hours into the party, Adeline brought her a glass of wine and a slice of red velvet cake, looked down to the diamond choker at her neck, and asked, “Is that a Harry Winston?”

Melanie had asked herself the same question when she’d noticed the brand of diamonds embalmed in the soft material of the case. Deciding that Adeline meant the champagne, the cake, and the new subject as a sort of peace offering, she nodded slightly.

For the next hour or so, she learned that Adeline Mackintosh was quite the family gossip.

Cameron was glad when the party was over and he could finally have Melanie to himself.

His family had practically fought for her attention, and while he’d been glad that she wasn’t left alone, he’d also found himself irrationally jealous. The feeling had only spiked when he’d seen Adeline introduce Richard Bancroft to Melanie, and had watched as Melanie laughed at something his cousin said. When Richard left an hour early—he had to catch a plane out—he couldn’t say that he was disappointed. His feelings for Melanie shocked him. Jealously was something he wasn’t very acquainted with. He’d never been jealous of his family or friends around any of his lovers before. But Melanie…he wanted to be the center of her attention. He wanted no competition in that department. And now, he was in his bedroom, and she was standing just a few feet away. A smile tugged at his lips.

“Why are you smiling like that?”

“Because I’m thinking about you.”

She lifted a brow. “Really?”

He lifted a hand over his heart and nodded once.

“What are you thinking about?”

“Are you sure you want to know?”

The drop in his tone coupled with the devilish sparkle in his eyes told her that it would be something wicked.

She felt the answering call in her own body. As the last guests had filed out, and Cameron’s family had retreated to the other wing of the house, he’d undone his tuxedo jacket as well as a few buttons in his pristine white shirt. Her eyes dipped to the portion of exposed chest that she could see, and she licked at her suddenly dry lips.

“Yes, I’m sure I want to know,” she managed to reply.

He closed the distance between them, until the front of his jacket was pressed against her dress.

“We’ll both like it better if I show you.”

Before she could reply, he lowered his lips to hers. Melanie’s hands crept up until they were both around his neck. She parted her lips at the insistent searching of his tongue, and then moaned as his tongue entered her. He tasted of champagne and Cameron, and her lids fell as she savored the taste and feel of him. Melanie didn’t know how long they remained like that, kissing and caressing each other, but when he lifted his head, and she opened her eyes, she felt teleported, as if they were somewhere in their own little world.

She felt his hand at her side, and then the zipper of her dress was being undone. His eyes never left hers as he worked, pushing her straps down her shoulders and allowing the dress to fall to the floor.

A stunned look appeared on his face as he stared at her in her undergarments.

Feeling reckless, she turned slowly to give him the full effect. It was a lacy red and black negligee that she’d purchased ages ago but had never worn. It was a miracle that it still fit, but fit it did.

Cameron caught her arm and pulled her back against him.

“Did you wear that for me?” he asked, and she shivered lightly when she heard more of his accent than usual. It sounded thicker, more rugged. She also grinned when the term “caveman” entered her mind.

“Yes. You said that you thought of me as a lingerie girl, didn’t you?” Leaning forward, she placed a kiss to the exposed part of his chest.

A groan rumbled deep in his chest.

“Well, do you like?” she continued, pulling away from him once more to showcase the sexy undergarment.

He didn’t answer, but she could tell from the look in his eyes, and the way he began shedding clothing, that he did.

Feeling bold, Melanie moved over to the king-sized canopy bed and sat on the red and gold duvet, crossing one leg over the over and leaning back on her arms.

“Melanie...” Cameron began, dropping his shirt to the ground. In only a pair of dark boxers, Cameron was magnificent. He had a body men would envy and women would automatically love, and she already knew the tent in his boxers wasn’t just for show. Her lover was extremely well endowed.

“Yes, Cameron?” she replied in her most innocent voice.

“Are you trying to seduce me?”

Uncrossing her legs so that they were parted in a huge v, she lay back and lifted her hands to her barely covered breasts.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Cameron,” she replied, sighing and looking at him from under lowered lids.

“No?” He walked toward her and stopped directly between her legs. Reaching down, he cupped her pussy, lifting a brow when she gasped. Dragging a finger over the thin material of the thong, he lightly caressed her. “Are you enjoying this, sweetheart?”

Some wicked devil inside her persuaded her to shake her head.

“No?” he repeated, and then he removed his hand. Groaning, Melanie began to push herself up to fully glare at him when an arm slipped around her waist, and she was dragged to the middle of the bed.

When she caught her breath, Cameron was lying above her, his hard body pressing hers into the mattress.

“I want you to enjoy this, lass,” he replied gruffly, and then he was kissing his way down her body. Even before he got to his destination, Melanie was shivering in anticipation. As his hot mouth covered her most intimate place, she cried out, and then rammed her fist into her mouth to keep silent. She was in his home, but so was his family. What would they think of her if they heard her?

He stopped. Opening her eyes, she found that he was glaring down at her, his lips glistening with her juices.

“Why did you stop?” she gasped out.

He lifted her hands above her head, securing them with one large fist, and leaned close to her lips. “I want to hear you scream.”

She groaned. Why was he so sexy? “What if your family hears?”

“They won’t. They’re on the other side of the house.” And even if they did, it served them right. At least then they’d all know that she was his.

His fingers slipped between her folds, and she whimpered. “Scream for me, lass.”

A finger dipped into her hot channel. She gasped, and then moaned. Another joined the first. And then they were both slipping out of her...

“Cameron!”

He thrust his fingers back into her, and she eagerly lifted her lips.

“Just like that, lass,” he encouraged, and used the other hand to pull down the straps of the lacy bra covering her breasts. Taking her nipple into his mouth, he bathed it with his tongue as his fingers continued to press into her.

“Oh my God!” Melanie sank her fingers into his hair, closing her eyes as he pleasured her.

She didn’t last much longer, and when she came, he grazed his teeth against her sensitive breasts, making sure that his name on her lips carried into the hall.

***

When Melanie came to, she was on top of Cameron and he was lightly caressing her naked back. The lacy lingerie was gone. She wiggled slightly and moaned as her clit rubbed against his hard abs.

Pushing herself up, she looked into his face, noticing the strain and control there.

Since she’d begun sleeping with Cameron, there was something she’d wanted to do, but was too shy to. While she still had her nerve, she swung her body around, coming face to face with his large cock.

Taking it into her palm, she squeezed lightly.

“Mel...” Her name died on a groan, and she smiled.

Using her thumb, she caressed the blunt head and felt herself grow ever wetter as a pearly drop presented itself.

“Melanie.” It was a warning, but she wasn’t listening. Leaning down, she took the head into her mouth, moaning at his salty but definitely pleasant taste.

“You’re going to be the death of me, lass,” Cameron grunted out, and she licked and sucked, trying her best to put as much of him into her mouth as possible without gagging. She enjoyed the little bit of torture she was giving him, right until he caught her by the hips and pulled her pelvis over his face.

Confused, Melanie lifted her head, and she shuddered as he pulled her down and attached his lips to her clit.

“Cameron!” she squeaked, and then groaned. “Oh my God, Cam…”

Turning back to the task before her, she took him back into her mouth, wondering at the erotic picture the two of them made. She knew this position, had seen it in some magazine, but had never tried it.

His tongue left her button and moved to her opening, licking before thrusting inside.

Feeling as if she were being slowly electrocuted, she braced a hand against the bed and held on for dear life. When she felt strong enough, she took him between her lips again, sucking hard at his plush head. Using her hand, she tightened it around his base and dragged it up and down, working furiously as her orgasm built.

Close to exploding, she pulled her body up and turned around, lining his cock up with her lubricated entrance.

His hands immediately went to her hips, holding firm as he looked from her face to where she hovered directly above him.

Sinking down onto him, she felt tears gather in her eyes as she took most of his length. They both moaned. It felt so damn good.

It was easy to find a pace, and with his hands attached to her hips, she rode him quickly, bucking back and forth, and making enough noise to rattle, if not raise, the dead. As soon as the first tremor rippled through her, Cameron held her firm, thrust up and released into her body.

Collapsing onto his sweat-drenched body, she struggled to catch her breath as he wrapped his arm about her and did the same.

Reaching for the remote on his end table, he pressed a button and plunged his room into darkness.

***

“Merry Christmas, sweetheart,” he whispered softly, knowing it was past midnight.

Melanie was asleep, so it was no surprise to him that she didn’t reply. What she did do was snuggle closer and murmur something against his neck.

A smile curved his lips.

He’d never felt this way about a woman before, especially one he’d met only a few days ago. Melanie Samuels was proving to be much more than he’d expected. When he’d first met her, she’d had many walls up, seemingly to keep the world out. In a few days, some of those walls had come down. She seemed more relaxed now, and her smiles and laughs came quicker. Still, he didn’t want
any
walls between them. With a sigh, he gently rolled her onto her side and reached down for the covers. Tomorrow, she would see him in his element, celebrating Christmas with his family, and tomorrow, he’d tell her what it was he wanted from her for Christmas. He only hoped she’d be able to give it.
