Type of middle Bronze Age pottery vessels found in the extreme southwest of Britain and dating to the 2nd millennium

. Generally rather barrel-shaped in profile and often with a highly decorated upper body, these large vessels commonly have strap handles. The decoration includes herringbone and lattice patterns, in the main executed in twisted cord and impressed techniques. Related to Trevisker ware in southwestern England.

The late Iron Age tribe living in the northern part of the Welsh Marches of western England and Wales at the time of the Roman conquest in ad 43. Their tribal capital was possibly at the Wrekin, Shropshire, some 6km east of Wroxeter (Viroconium) where the

Cortaillod Culture

Early Neolithic communities occupying much of Switzerland during the 4th millennium

, named after the lake village of Cortaillod beside Lake Neuchâtel. Many settlements of the Cortaillod Culture were situated beside lakes or on the edge of wetland, with the result that remains are often well preserved. The houses were timber-framed with clay walls and thatched roofs. Their material culture included numerous birch-bark utensils and containers, fibre nets and ropes, and dark burnished round-based pottery. The subsistence base focused on mixed farming supplemented by hunting, fishing, and collecting wild foodstuffs including fruits and nuts. The Cortaillod Culture was succeeded by the Pfyn Culture in eastern Switzerland and the Horgen Culture in western Switzerland.
