Chapter 11 - Kelly

Kelly woke to the smell of fresh coffee and another smell she couldn't quite place but, whatever it was, it smelled delicious. Her head was banging but as she sat up slowly on the side of the bed she saw a folded note with elegant masculine handwriting on the front. When she lifted the card there was a tall glass of water and two pain tablets.

Take these and drink ALL the water. Then shower before you come out for breakfast. Your clothes will be on the bed when you get out. J

Kelly smiled before wincing as the side of her face burst into pain at the small movement. She didn't think she'd ever been hit so hard by anyone, including Devlin, with a single punch before. After swallowing her tablets and drinking the tall glass of water, Kelly went to the bathroom and started the shower. Turning as she undressed from yesterday's clothes, she caught sight of her face in the mirror and sighed. The entire left side of her face was a dark purple, it didn't help that she had two stitches in her cheek and three in her head where she'd gotten up close and personal with the concrete. Sighing, she got in the shower and spent the next thirty minutes in double shower bliss.

As promised her clothes were laid out. To her surprise, James had placed her running gear on the bed. At least he was going to let her have a bra today. There was no way she was running without one. It just felt
wrong
. She dressed quickly, and noticed that when she bent over the pain was worse in her head so she made a mental note to avoid anything where she would be required to bend over.

“Good morning, Sir.” Kelly said quietly from the doorway to the kitchen. She'd been watching James studying some paperwork over the kitchen bench. The smell of pancakes was had permeated throughout the room and her mouth was watering.

“Finally decided to make an appearance did you?” James turned over the papers he was going through as she approached the kitchen. “How's the head? Any better?”

“Actually it is. I've still got a nasty headache but those tablets you gave me have taken the edge off.”

“That's good then. I'm glad.” James answered before pulling a plate of pancakes out of the oven. “Careful the plate is pretty hot, I've been waiting for you to get up for two hours.”

“You should have woken me.” Kelly said as she smeared butter all through the four layers in front of her.

“And miss out on listening to you snore? That's not going to happen.” James picked his papers and folded them neatly before putting them in his jacket pocket.

“Anything interesting?”

“No. I'm just going into my office for a little while. Let me know when you're done and then you can head over to the gym. But make sure you don't push it. Just some light walking and some basic weights.”

“I can run today, I said I'm fine.” Kelly said after a mouthful of her breakfast.

“I said no. Don't push me today, Kelly. I won't be responsible for your punishment, you will.”

With that he stalked from the room and headed to his office.

What the hell
? Kelly thought as she pushed away her plate, her appetite disappearing with James.
What on earth did I do wrong now?

Kelly tipped her food into the bin and cleaned up the kitchen so that it was once again immaculate. Then after deciding to leave James and his foul mood, she headed straight for the barn, opening up the doors like he had requested. Knowing that he was watching made her feel safer and she could
feel
him watching her and every now and then when she looked towards the window in his office, she swore she spotted him before he moved away.

She pounded away on the treadmill for half an hour, desperate to break out into a run, but knowing where her limits were after last night's incident, as well as the clear message from James to not over do it. Walking over to the stereo she turned on his iPod and cranked the first song that loaded, an old school ACDC track
'Highway to Hell'
burst through the speakers and she laughed at the awesome sound system that he had installed. At home she had a small CD player that cost ten dollars from a flea market. When she tried to turn it up any louder than half way all she got was a distorted mash of noise.

Letting the music spur her own she picked a few light weights and did a few sets until she started to feel her muscles burning. Next she picked up James' boxing wraps and covered her hands with the black material. Without thinking she bought her covered hands to her nose and inhaled the delightfully musky scent that emanated from them. She quickly dropped her hands when she realised what she was doing and hoped that he hadn't been watching. With her hands well wrapped and the stereo now beating out another classic ACDC song she stepped towards the bag and punched at it in a slow and steady pace. As her muscles warmed and sweat poured down her body, Kelly pictured the hooded man who had tried to shoot her in the head, desperately trying to remember even the smallest detail about him. He never said a word, only grunted when she had managed to kick his feet out from under him. The remembered the gun though. It was a Ruger SR45, a semi-automatic pistol. Kelly had almost a photographic memory when it came to guns. Devlin had liked to waive them in her face, hit her with them, amongst other disgusting acts until she was able to tell him the name and specifications of the gun he was brandishing. He didn't care how she got the information and sometimes kept her in isolation from everyone in the house just so she wouldn't be able to find out. The punishment was always worse if she couldn't answer him. She was still punished if she
did
find out what he wanted to know. She was too slow, had a single wrong detail or couldn't spell the name when asked. Surely there were only a few suppliers in the country able to get the hands on that specific type of gun.

Kelly stopped punching and grabbed the bag as it swung and hung off it to catch her breath. It was the worst thing she could have done because James' scent, his sweat was so strong on the bag that it filled her with his smell. What bothered her the most was the fact that it didn't make her want to run. It made her want to stay.

After she wiped down the bag and turned off the stereo Kelly dawdled back to the house, unsure of the mood James would be in. The house was quiet and Kelly headed into the kitchen. There was a glass of water on the bench and more pain relief which she sculled in seconds, refilled and then drank more slowly savouring each drop.

“I take it you enjoyed your drink?” Kelly jumped at the sound of his voice from the doorway to the office. His face was passive, with no hint of what kind of mood he was in. Tossing something through the air, Kelly caught the metal object and saw that it was the key to the dungeon downstairs. “Wait inside the dungeon, naked and in the same position I asked you to be in when I come home at night.”

“But...what...what...?”

“Do. Not. Question. Me. Right. Now.”

Kelly scurried to the door and tried three times to unlock the door, each time the keys clanged to the floor. The fourth time she managed to get them in the lock and left the door open as she scampered down the stairs. Fear gripped her mind, but at the same time she knew that he would never hurt her like Devlin had. She still couldn't control the shaking that had control of her entire body. She stripped without thinking, quickly folding her clothes and making a neat pile behind her. As she sank to her knees, the first tear fell despite her attempts to hold them in. She knew she had made a mistake but couldn't remember what she had done to warrant a punishment.

She sat for what seemed like eternity but was most likely only a few minutes before she heard James' heavy footsteps above her. She didn't dare look up as his black trademark boots came into her vision.

“Kelly, do you know why you are here right now?”

“No, Sir, I do not.” Kelly answered quickly without hesitation.

“What did I ask of you this morning? In order please.”

“Um, you asked me to eat my breakfast and then go to the barn for my exercise and not to overdo it.”

“Is that all, think
very
carefully.”

Kelly racked her brain but the fear in her veins made it impossible for her to recall that morning’s conversation in detail.

“I'm sorry, Sir. I don't remember.”

“Fine. Just remember,
I
also do not want to be doing this to you. Get up, keep your hands behind your back and go over to the spanking bench. Then wait. Do you think you can remember
those
instructions?”

“Yes, Sir.” Kelly quickly stood up and walked to the spanking bench, keeping her head bowed to avoid the obvious annoyance she knew would be displayed on James' face.

“Look at me, Kelly.” James said in a stern voice. When she hesitated he pulled her chin up roughly and put his face an inch from hers. “Do not hesitate when I ask you to do something, Kelly. I don't want to have to add to this punishment, it's going to be hard enough on both of us.”

“I'm sorry, Sir. I...” More tears flowed from her eyes as she saw the disappointment in his eyes. She was unprepared for the desolation that she had failed him, and even more unprepared for the feeling that she
wanted
to please him.

“Don't speak. I have not given you permission.” James removed his hand from his chin and stepped back slightly, giving them both some breathing room. “I asked you to come and let me know
before
you went out to the barn. My instructions were simple and clear and yet for some reason, you
forgot
such a simple step. I asked you to let me know as a courtesy to me, after last night, I need to know where you are at all times, whether you think it's important or not. I can lose track of time when I'm working very easily, so when I ask you to come and let me know when you are going somewhere, even to the barn, I expect you to follow those instructions. Not because I'm trying to control your every move but because it helps keep me on track.”

Kelly understood what he was saying and the reasoning behind it. She
had
forgotten a simple step in his instructions. Her punishment was deserved.

“I'm going to spank you, hard, ten times. There will be no warm up and it
will
hurt. You need to ready yourself for that pain and remember to breath. Can you do that for me?”

“Yes, Sir, I think I can.”

“Good girl.” Again those two simple words warmed her core and she finally felt like she had pleased him in some way. Kelly took in two deep breaths and readied her body for the pain that would come. “I am only going to use my hand, nothing else. I want you to understand that you can say the word
red
at any time and I will stop and we will discuss what is happening in your head. But we do not leave this room until you have received every single one of those spanks. Do you understand?”

“Yes, Sir, I understand.”

“Good. Lean over the bench until your hands are near the metal rings at the bottom. I'm not going to use restraints because I think that might make this harder for you than it needs to be.  But if you stand up at any time, I will start again from one.”

Kelly leaned over the padded wooden bench so that her breasts fell over the other side and her fingers gripped the iron rings. Her feet only touched the floor with the very tips of her toes. Every muscle in her body was rigid and her brain was screaming at her to run. But she closed her eyes and took in another deep breath before breathing out slowly through her mouth to calm her.

The first slap hit her on the left butt cheek before she had even finished breathing out. She squealed and tried to lift herself before feeling a hand gently guiding her back down. James counted off the spank and she was grateful for his concession, knowing that Momentum’s subs were required to count them out loud to their Masters. The next two alternated between her ass cheeks. Each one hurt more than the last as her body came alive, her nerve endings tingling with anticipation of the next spank. Four more came in quick succession and the final two hit her across both cheeks igniting a fire within her body she didn't even know existed. Kelly lay panting across the spanking bench her hair falling over her face.

“How are you doing, Kelly. Do you need to say your safe word yet?”

“No...Sir...I'm...I'm okay.”

“Thank you for your honesty. Let’s get this over with.” She felt him change his stance behind her as he readied himself for the final three. At eight Kelly felt the first tears resulting from the stinging that swarmed her ass without relief. Nine had her crying out and gripping the rings with all she had to stop herself from getting up. With the final spank Kelly slumped against the bench, her control gone as she sobbed and sobbed. James picked her up and held her in his arms close to his chest as he walked over to a small couch she hadn't noticed before and sat down carefully. He then reached behind them and retrieved a blanket that he used for after-care and wrapped it around her shaking body. They sat together quietly, the only noises were her quiet sobs until her tears finally dried up. To both their surprise, Kelly was the first to speak.

“I'm sorry I disappointed you, Sir. You were a little...moody, I guess and I didn't want to see you again before I went outside. But I honestly did forget that I was supposed to let you know, I should have remembered, especially after last night. I'll try harder to remember things.”
