She licked her lips, feeling uncertain. His eyes darkened as he pulled her closer to him.
“Don’t deny me your love, Eve.”

“I can deny you nothing.” The words whispered past her lips before she could think to stop it.

The stark need she saw in his eyes made her smile. It was a wanton, womanly smile she knew, as she made a show of sliding her body sensually along his until she was kneeling between his spread thighs. With a glance up at him, she took his hard cock in her hand and brought it to her mouth.

“Aw, fuck. Yess…’”

His hand fisted in her hair, his breath coming in short pants as she curled her tongue around his tip.
“Sweet Jesus, Eve, that looks so damn good, so fucking hot,”
he moaned, thrusting upwards, filling her mouth with his rigid length.

Anael slid lower into the booth. With a glance around the club, he used his powers to transfix the mortals. In a state of suspended animation, they didn’t move, didn’t blink. Didn’t think. Just watched. It was just him and Eve sharing their bodies like two hungry animals. And the knowledge was a powerful aphrodisiac.

“That’s it, baby. Take it all,”
he growled as he grasped his erection in his hand and traced her lips with the glistening tip. Her tongue came out and circled the head of his phallus and he groaned at the sensation as well as the visual of it as he pumped himself and demanded she do it all over again, just so he could have the pleasure of seeing her pink tongue glide along him.

Leaning back, he spread his thighs, allowing Eve to come closer to him. He ran his fingers through her hair and watched her work his cock with a mouth that was far from angelic. She tormented him with sultry looks, peeking up at him as she trailed her tongue down his shaft, teasing him mercilessly, until in a state of suffering he reached for the back of her head and brought her mouth down to his straining flesh.
“Finish me,”
he panted, watching her take the length of him into her mouth.

His body bucked then tensed. He reached for her breasts, bringing them together, pinching her nipples so that she moaned, the sound vibrating along him, making him shudder.

Close to finding his release, and wanting it to be inside her, he reached for her and brought her up so that she was positioned astride him. Her sex was wet and her cheeks were flushed, as were the tops of her breasts as they spilled from her dress.

He took his time studying her in the light, watching as the neon lights highlighted her gold hair and cast her skin in a peach glow. His gaze flickered up to the gentle slope of her shoulder, to the curve of her neck and beyond, to where a mirror rested against the wall opposite the lounge.

Reaching out he trailed his fingers along the indentation of her waist, up and over her hip, all the while watching in the mirror as his hand roamed along her alabaster flesh.

Gooseflesh sprung to life beneath his fingers and he felt, as well as saw Eve sway into him. His hand at last found her bottom and he squeezed it. He rather enjoyed this position, he realised, tipping his head to the side so he could see his finger skimming down her ass and disappearing into the blond curls that were already damp for him.

He liked the possessiveness of watching his hands on her, liked seeing his fingers against her skin, almost as if he were marking her for his own.

“I forget everything when you’re touching me like this,” she said on a sigh.

“God, I want to touch you forever.”
Her body trembled and he reached for her breasts, bringing them together and running his thumbs over her nipples, eliciting another ripple of tremors through her limbs.

“Cup your breasts. I want to watch you. I want you to see me watching you.”

He fitted her hands around her breasts, making certain her pink nipples peeked out between her fingers.

“I have a fantasy, Eve and in it you pleasure yourself for me. I watch as you take your breasts in your hands and play with your nipples. I study you as your fingers skim down your belly to your sex, where your fingers part your lips and I watch you play. It arouses me watching you. Live out my fantasy, Eve. Take your nipples between your fingers and roll them. Make them hard for me, Eve. Make them so that I can tongue them. Think of me tonguing them, think of me tonguing every forbidden inch of your body.

“Do you like me watching you, Eve? I think you do, I can feel how much you like it on my hand.”

Her eyes went wide when he raised her up from his lap and took his erection in his hand, thrusting slowly into her, telling her to sink down onto him.

“Ride me,”
he encouraged as she slid onto him.
“Now, lean forward and let me take you.”

He didn’t give her time to object. She moaned when he quickened the pace and he pressed tightly against her, thrusting into her hard, his fingers biting into her soft hips as he penetrated her deeper, and deeper.

Good God he’d never experienced this before, never had lovemaking felt this right, this complete. As he watched her body move atop him, he realised he was at last satisfied, his hunger appeased, his soul, if he’d had one, would have been fed. He’d never felt this way before, never wanted and needed as much as he wanted and needed Eve.

Resting her back against his knees while she ground her hips onto him, Anael watched her match his rhythm.
“Come for me,”
he commanded, quickening his pace until they were deep stabs that made her suck in her breath. His finger found her clitoris and he flicked it in time to his strokes. She was wild and writhing and not until he was certain she was satiated did he let himself indulge in his own pleasure.

He hugged her slick body to his and nuzzled his face between her breasts, feeling more contented then he ever had in his life.

This was love. This was the future. He had never been happier in all his days than he was right now, vulnerable and weak, with only Eve’s arms to keep him safe from the tempest raging in his heart.

Chapter Eleven

Somehow Eve found herself back at home being tucked into bed. Beside her, Anael slipped beneath the sheets and wrapped his arms around her.

“You’ll stay with me the whole night through?”

“Yes. Come here, let me hold you.”

Snuggling up close, Eve tucked her head beneath his chin and felt herself slip into a peaceful lassitude as Anael’s big palm rubbed up and down along her spine.

Her body was relaxed. Spent. He’d made love to her once more, in her kitchen, on top of the counter. He’d been savage, yet tender, always pleasing her first before succumbing to his own passion. He was the consummate lover. So perfect. So beautiful.

Until the dawn. After the rising of the sun, her perfect lover was gone, leaving her empty, anxiously awaiting the night-time till he came to her once more.

As her eyelids fluttered closed, she found herself praying to God that perhaps he might stay with her. That God could grant to her this angel—her angel.

Anael heard her prayers and knew they were useless. They could not be together, not in any real sense. He would forever be her night-time lover, shunned from her in the daylight. Once his treachery was discovered, they would be forever parted, him to the Abyss, and her to another man.

“It doesn’t have to be that way.”

Anael held Eve tighter in his arms and shut his eyes, blocking out that voice. That seductive voice that tempted him to sin.

“Man and Angels, we are not so very different are we? We are both sinners.”

“I cannot take what you’re offering, Lucifer.”

“Why, when you want it so desperately? I can feel it, the seething, the rage at the injustice of loving her and never having her. What I offer you is a gift. A gift God will not ever grant you. You know that.”

Anael thought of Gadriel and how he’d found a woman to love, a woman who shared her body with him. A woman who he’d given his child to. God had gifted Gadriel. Why would he not do the same for him?

“Because he despises you, brother. He hates you. He will never forgive you.”

It was true. God did hate him. Nothing but loathing could have condemned someone to the Abyss for as long as Anael had endured it.

“At what cost would your gift be, Lucifer?”

“Not a price that you cannot pay, brother.”

Anael felt the slithering serpent of enticement coil around him. He so wanted to accept, to be with Eve.

“And what of Richard Stokes?”

“A minor inconvenience. I can wipe out his memory of her. He won’t remember either of you. Think of it, brother. You could awaken in the morning, still holding her. I’d give you your beauty back. I’d give you a voice. I’d give you anything you want, and everything He won’t.”

“For what?”
Anael asked, his voice pleading.
“What is your price? I will not barter Eve’s soul, I won’t do anything that will cause her any harm or pain, or anguish. I won’t do it, Lucifer.”

“What I ask has nothing to do with her. What I ask is for you. Your service. Once your lovely mortal has died a natural death, I will have you as my apprentice. You will serve me.”

“I will serve you in darkness.”

“I can erase the sins of your past, brother. I can make you beautiful and whole again. I can give you voice, and I can give you life with this woman. It is more than He is offering.”

Anael looked down at Eve.
“Then I accept your terms.”

The devil chuckled with glee.
“And on the morning after her death, you will come with me, where you will be my disciple.”

There was a flash and Lucifer was gone.

“Eve,” he said, his voice strong. “Eve, luv, wake up.”

“Your voice,” she said sleepily. “I can hear it so clearly.”

“The sun is coming up,” he said, shaking her awake. “Let’s watch it rise together.”

She came awake with a start and stared at him with wild eyes. “Your face,” she whispered, her fingers trembling against his cheek. He caught her palm in his hand and kissed it.

“You’ve lifted my curse, Eve. You’ve made me whole.”

“What are you?” she asked. He smiled and reached for her, bringing her tight against him.

“Just a man. Just a man who wants to love you for the rest of your life.”

“What happened?” she asked.

“Love. That’s what happened. For the first time in my life I have now known love. Have felt it, and I want to keep on feeling it, Eve. For as long as you live, I’m going to hang on to it.”

“You don’t even know me.”

“Not in the traditional sense, but I do have a lifetime to get to know you. C’mon, it’s a new day. Begin it with me.”

She took his hand and walked with him to the window where they stood, watching the orange blaze of the sun streak along the horizon, making the clouds burn bright in the sky.

He did not regret what he’d done. This was what he wanted. He wanted Eve. For as long as Eve was in the world, he wanted to be here, not up there in Heaven shunned to its furthest reaches. He wanted to be down here, in her arms, her heart. And when she left this world, the place would be empty to him. He would be dead.

No, he could not resent or fear his choice. He’d chosen his path. The path that led to Eve, and his garden of salvation.
