We’re Broken Deeds MC and we fucking solve cases. Simple as that. Now, we need to save these boys and bringing those brothers in is a priority. Alive or dead? Who fucking cares. Their asses are linked to the case in black and white. Papers are served and that’s all the fucking information we need.

We all spread out as Broke and Depay go around back. Goffa and Muffler each take one side as I approach the front of the farmhouse. The smell of pigs is fucking killing the fresh air. Taking in my surroundings. If I didn’t already know that Lepack and his brothers live here, I would have thought the place was abandoned. The rickety boards creak under my feet as I climb up the porch steps. I keep my gun raised while I use my free hand to see if the door is unlocked. Feeling it click then slide open, I give a gentle push and I duck my head around to see if anyone’s standing in the hallway. Seeing no movement, I slowly repeat the action with a sharp eye, making sure all is clear.

When I’m deeper inside of the house, the place is so fucking dark, I reach for my belt to grab a flashlight. Pointing the beam in the same direction as my gun, I take a sweep though the living room but come up empty. I mean literally empty. Shit, do these guys sit on the floor or even live in here? The room is fucking empty and the stench is horrible.

Hearing Goffa and Muffler give an all clear, we wait for Broke and Depay to check in. Three minutes later, they call out and we converge in the kitchen. This seems to be the main room that connects with all the others.

There’s a huge wooden door that judging from the blueprints of the farm, leads to the barn behind the house where they keep the pigs. Fucking idiots, who builds a house with a barn attached to it, making the house smell like a fucking barn.

We line up on one side of the door, while Broke stands on the other side and holds on to the doorknob.

With a nod, he shoves the door open. Every gun points to the doorway when the godawful smell overwhelms us. The stench multiplies a thousand times and the sound of screaming pigs adds to the fucked up mess.

Knowing Broke has my back, I slip inside. My brothers follow me as we spread out into the barn. I see one of the Lepack brothers, Kard, cleaning a pigpen. I signal to Broke and he responds with a gesture that confirms he’s seen Lepack as well.

Circling around, we manage to surprise the fucker. He tries to resist. His arm comes up as if he wants to punch me in the face. Dodging easily, I grab hold of his arm, twist it behind his back while I kick his legs out from underneath him. I’ve got him face down in pig shit within seconds.

I can’t help myself when my fist connects with his face. I want to do so much more but my brother pulls me off him before I can kill the fucker. Broke pushes me back while he binds Kard’s wrists with a tie strip and using another one for his ankles, he leaves him there.

Muffler stays to stand guard. When we hear him yell, I turn just in time to see the older brother walk in with a bale of hay. His eyes go all big as he drops the bale and turns to run back the way he came. Before I can give chase, Muffler flings one of his triangles, hitting him in the back as Broke tackles him to the ground.

“Fuck, man! You could have hit me with your stupid ninja shit.” Broke growls out while he tightens a tie strip on Lepack’s wrists and after that one on his ankles. With a grunt, he yanks the older Lepack brother up and throws him in the shit next to his brother.

“Stop your whining, you pussy.” Muffler says as he walks up to the oldest Lepack brother and pulls out his triangle, wiping it clean on the guy’s shoulder before putting it away.

“Goffa, check if they’re all clear and make sure they aren’t fucking carrying.” He nods as he bends down. His phone gives a buzz so he straightens and pulls his phone from his pocket. That reminds me, I need to call it in to the boys in blue who are waiting outside.

Reaching inside my pants, I pull out my phone. It’s time for them to step in and do their share. “The house is all clear, we’ve got the two perps and need units in here to search for the missing boys. So go on and…”

The connection breaks as I see the battery of my phone is about to die on me. Tucking my phone away, I look at my brothers. “Good job, guys.”

They nod as Depay growls, “It won’t be a good job until we find those kids. Let’s not forget the little Lepack brother that’s still out there.”

Goffa adds his two cents. “I still think this went too damn fucking easy. Something’s not right.”

“Don’t fucking jinx it, you fucking idiot! Easy or not, you don’t ever mention that shit,” Muffler replies.

I couldn’t agree more but one thing at a time. Our first priority is finding those little boys.

Chapter 17

***Lynn***

It’s a good thing Chopper snores like a fucking bulldog from hell. That way I don’t have to wake him every now and then to see if the fucker is still alive.

I can’t fucking get over the nervous vibe I have. Needing to know if everything is okay, I shoot a quick text to Deeds. I know he must be busy so I add choosing to reply is not an option.

Me: Need to know if everything is okay. Busy or not, please lemme know.

As soon as I press send, I regret it. Shit. I know he can take care of himself and besides he’s got his brothers to watch his back. Relief fills me when I see he’s responded.

Deeds: Lepack brothers in custody. Boys still missing. Talk later. Phone almost dead.

Dropping the phone down next to me, I try to refocus on the documentary. I’m still bothered by the fact that they haven’t found those little boys yet. And even more bothered by the fact that his phone is dying. I contemplate texting him back to let him know that Depay probably has a charger in his pocket but decide not to.

He’s busy with things that need his attention. I can’t be a distraction that draws him away. He needs to focus so I hit play on my documentary. And dammit, those little boys are still on my mind. I decide to grab the file off the table and look over everything one more time dividing my attention between the documentary and the case.

Staring at a picture of the barn where they are keeping the pigs, I hear squealing and my eyes fly up to the screen.

Standing in a flash, making the papers fall to the ground, I gasp for breath because this cannot be a fucking coincidence.

I fucking know where the boys are. Hands shaking, I search for my phone underneath all the papers. Finding it, I call Deeds and it goes straight to voicemail. Fuck. Looking at Chopper, I make a flash decision.

Heading into the bedroom to replace my yoga pants with jeans, I pull a hoodie over my shirt. I slip into my sneakers and pull my hair back into a tight bun. My eyes slide to my neck, when I’ve removed the wrapping, I turn my head a bit to admire my patch in the mirror.

Taking a deep breath, I nod to myself. I need to do this. Pulling up the alarm app on my phone, I shut down the alarm yet again for the bedroom window. Grabbing my kit from my bag, I slide out and make my way to Grams’ house.

I sneak inside, taking care to avoid the prospect who’s standing on the front porch smoking a fucking cigarette. Walking through the kitchen and into the living room, I whisper for Grams.

She stands up from the couch and walks up to me, grabs me my arm to pull me back inside the kitchen. “What are you doing here, pumpkin?”

“I need your help, Grams.”

She gasps when she sees my neck. Reaching out, she gently puts her finger against my patch. “You’ve made it official!” She bounces up and down, clapping her hands.

I glance toward the living room and then back at Grams. I reach for her hands. “Sssssshhh. I need for you to be quiet. And… I need to borrow your bike.” Seeing her face change, I quickly add. “In return, I’m gonna pierce your eyebrow if you still want me to.”

I can’t even finish my sentence before she nods her head in agreement. “You’ve got yourself a deal, pumpkin! Will you do it right now?”

Seeing me grab my kit off the kitchen counter, her eyes go wide. I just know she’s gonna fucking jump up and down again so I put my finger to my lips making her nod her head instead.

Pulling out a chair, she takes a seat as I open my kit and get things ready. I put on my gloves while I double check her preferred spot. “Left eyebrow, Grams?”

“Yes, Pumpkin.” She giggles, making me smile and giggle right along with her. I know I’m playing hard and I just know Deeds will kick my ass for this, but I can’t help it when I hear the sounds of her joy and excitement.

After cleaning and making sure everything is ready, I ask one more time. “You sure about this, Grams?”

“Yes, Pumpkin. Now give me your best shot.”

“Okay, Grams. Do you want an angle or straight up and down?”

She thinks about it for a second before she says, “Straight up and down.”

Nodding, I take my pencil and make two dots on her skin. Grabbing the needle I look at her and say. “When I say, now, you take a deep breath and then I’ll pierce you, okay?”

I can tell she’s nervous by the way she nods and keeps that smile on her face. Don’t know if that smile is gonna stay, so we need to get it over with.

Setting the clamp into place on her eyebrow and holding the needle, I say, “Now!” Hearing her take a deep breath, I push the needle through from the bottom of the eyebrow, straight through to the top.

She giggles when I pull back, checking to see if the needle went through the two dots I made. Grabbing the curved eyebrow barbell I push one side of the barbell to the needle and slide it through. I remove the needle and twist the ball onto the barbell. Cleaning her eyebrow one more time, I take a minute to admire my work before I grab a mirror and show Grams her new jewelry.

“Oh, Pumpkin! I love it!” She sets the mirror on the table and grabs me in a hug. Closing my arms around her and settling in, we stay like that for a few seconds.

When I pull back, I slide off my gloves and throw them into the garbage then cleaning up my stuff and close the kit. I see Grams still admiring herself in the mirror. Yeah, fuck Deeds. I know I did a good thing by piercing Grams. When he sees her smile, he won’t be able to deny it either.

“Can I leave my kit here with you?”

It takes a moment for her to reply since she’s still got all her attention to herself and the mirror. “Yes, yes. Sure, Pumpkin.”

“Are the keys in the bike, Grams?” That makes her head turn almost immediately.

“Yes, but you need to ride with care, Pumpkin. My bike might be old but she’s hell on wheels.”

I laugh at her statement since it reminds me of Blue when she talks about her bike. “I’ll be sure to keep that in mind, Grams.”

She puts down the mirror and her face turns serious. ”Now, if you go around back, walk for the first mile or so. It’ll be a pain to push the bike, but she makes a lot of noise and that annoying prospect will be on your ass in a second.”

Damn, she’s probably right about that. Nodding, she stands up, gives me another hug, and says, “Now be careful and go get ‘em, girl!”

What the hell, I didn’t even say why I needed the bike or where I was going. Smiling back at her I say, “I intend to, Grams.”

Walking as quietly as I can to the shed, I pull myself together before opening it. Shit, I just can’t make myself turn my head to the left, knowing the spider collection is there. Shivers run over my back as I slide off the blanket and uncover the bike.

Grams was right. Pushing the bike down the road is a pain. I’m out of breath in minutes. I can’t help but think this is a bad fucking idea. Maybe I should just call Zack and let him deal with it. Or wake up Chopper and have him contact Broke or Goffa.

Fuck, I’m so stupid. Stopping, I decide to just start the bike and see what happens. If the prospect catches up, he can call one of the other guys for me.

The bike roars to life as I straddle it and make my way down the road. According to the directions on my phone, it’s a good thirty minutes’ drive.

When I guide my bike around the corner of the street where the Lepack pig farm is located, I see a couple cop cars right out front. I park Grams’ bike right next to it and I make sure I take the keys with me. Grams would kill me if something happened to her bike.

I walk over to a small group of cops and overhear them discussing how a rookie managed to arrest the youngest of the Lepack brothers. Something about a broken taillight makes me snicker before I clear my throat to get their attention. As they turn and look me over, I twist my head and I point to the patch on my neck. “I need to speak to the man in charge.”

Their eyes widen as one grabs his radio and talks into it. A few minutes later, I see movement inside the farm and I see Deeds stroll out. His eyes go straight for me and I angle my body so he can’t see the side of my neck where the patch is.

When he gets within arms’ reach, he takes my wrist and leads me into the house. When we reach the kitchen, a godawful smell hits my nose. I try to hold back the need to gag as I have no choice but to follow Deeds into the pit of Hell.

When we step inside the large barn, I’m hearing pigs scream in reality, opposed to what I’ve just witnessed on television. I see the guys stand around while the fucker who sliced me up is facedown in pig shit. Serves him fucking right. Lepack’s older brother is lying down next to him. There are a lot of cops walking around, searching the place.

My gaze slants to Deeds when I hear him ask, “What the hell are you doing here Lips? And where the fuck is Chopper?” Turning to face him, my neck is exposed to the other guys, making them curse out loud. Deeds looks to his men who are all staring at my neck and then his eyes also slide to my patch. His hand goes up and his fingers softly brush along the heated skin of my fresh ink.

“Fuck, that’s beautiful.” His voice bubbles over with emotion as he brings his lips down on my neck and kisses his property patch.

Letting my head fall to the side to give him more access, he steps closer to me as one hand goes to the other side of my neck, holding me steady. His other hand wraps around my waist, pulling me flush to his body.

“Hey Prez, could you save that shit? When, you know… when we’re not standing in shit and all?”

Oh, gross! Deeds brushes his lips over my ink one last time. I’m sure he loves the heated, raw feel of it. Bringing his lips close to my ear, he whispers, “Fucking love how you chose to place my patch on one of my favorite spots. Fucking
love
it, Hotlips.” He pulls back and looks at me. “You owe me an answer. What are you doing here?”

I look around at the guys, before my eyes find Deeds again. “Well, since you told me you had the brothers in custody, I didn’t need a fucking babysitter anymore. So don’t go blame this on Chopper. Who is sleeping by the way, he needs it since you roughed him up good.” Holding my hands up, I hastily add, “Which he deserved, don’t get me wrong. It’s just that I was watching this documentary and…”

Goffa makes a disgusted sound. “We don’t need this shit Prez.”

Deeds shuts him up with a glare which prompts me look over at Goffa and stick my tongue out. Yeah, I’m totally acting like a five year old, but come the fuck on. I led them to this point, the least he could do is hear me the fuck out.

“Anyway. I was watching a documentary about drugs. You know how they grow pot and how that shit smells?” I wait for Deeds to nod before continuing. “Well, did you know they grow that shit on pig farms to cover up the smell?”

Deeds shakes his head slowly, trying to figure out where I’m going with this.

“Well, to hide it from plain view, they bury that shit in huge containers BELOW the pigs.”

“Fuck me!” Deeds bellows as the other guys start to curse. “Get more people in here! I want every single person searching for an access point. Or get me a fucking ground-penetrating radar or some shit. Get it fucking done.
Now
!”
