November 24, 1995: Buckingham Palace announces that Diana will spend Christmas with them at Sandringham Estate.
December 18, 1995: The Palace announces that Diana has changed her mind and made private Christmas plans, but that William and Harry will join their father.
December 20, 1995: Queen Elizabeth urges the Prince and Princess to divorce.
February 28, 1996: Diana announces she has agreed to divorce.
January 13, 1997: Diana visits Angola with the Red Cross to decry the use of land mines.
Summer 1997: Diana is romantically linked with millionaire Dodi al-Fayed, son of the man who bought Harrods of London.
August 31, 1997: Diana and Dodi are killed in a violent car crash in Paris.
September 6, 1997: Virtually the entire civilized world watches Diana’s funeral, which is televised from Westminster Abbey.
