“Damn, baby.” He wasn’t ready to let go yet; he wanted to wring every last sensation out of Aileen’s body first. Gripping her hips tightly, he began thrusting himself up harder into her body, letting her ride him through her release, pounding away at the deep inner spot. His efforts were rewarded as Aileen felt another release following directly after her first, this time causing her whole body to tremble and shake, her breath almost non-existent as she fought to keep her body from falling over onto the bleachers.
“Ohh yeah, that’s it.”
He grunted; feeling her second climax gripping onto him was making him lose control, and he began to shake and tense, forcing himself to hold back just a little longer. He was only able to control himself till the tail- end of Aileen’s second release; he growled low in her ear as he gripped her tightly, holding her still, clamped to his chest as his shaft throbbed and released inside of her. He swung himself around to lay down along the bleacher, keeping Aileen close against his chest and forcing her to lie down with him. Their chests heaved, burning for air as they worked to catch their breath, sweat dripping off their bodies onto the ground in small puddles.
“That was…” Aileen tried.
“Fucking fantastic…yeah.”
Aileen nuzzled her face against Tyler’s sweat-drenched chest, inhaling the scent of him and her mixed together. She loved the mixture their scents created. Tyler moved his hands from her hips and crossed them underneath his head. His chest slowed the longer they just lay there in silence, until Aileen finally decided to try to speak. “We’re insane, do you know that?”
Tyler’s chest shook Aileen as he chuckled at her words; she wasn’t wrong, but it was still a funny thought. “It’s surprisingly hot. I never expected to do something like this…ever. You bring out some sort of animal in me.”
“That is just what I was thinking; you bring out something wild in me that nobody else ever has.”
“Is that a good thing, or a bad thing?”
“I like it… I like it a lot.”
Aileen sighed, snuggling against his chest, wanting to savor the moment a little while longer.
Tyler lifted his head and moved his hands to grip her sides, sitting up and spinning over, helping her slide off of him and onto her feet, keeping a grip to ensure she didn’t fall down. “You okay to stand?”
“Yeah, I’m good.” Aileen smiled and re-adjusted her shorts to look as if nothing happened. Fixing her hair and wiping the sweat off her face, she scanned the stadium to ensure nobody was secretly watching them from somewhere. “Probably should have looked for an audience
before
we did that. And we definitely can’t tell Jani.”
Another chuckle escaped Tyler’s lips; he hadn’t even thought about looking for people before making his move. He stood up, pulling the latex off of his member and tucking it into the discarded foil packet, putting it in his back pocket to throw away on his way back to the team.
Aileen licked her dry lips, desperately needing water and more of the athlete in front of her. She felt as though she would never get enough of him.
“I want you to come to Boston with me,” Tyler said suddenly.
Aileen leaned up on her elbows, staring down at him. “What?”
“I want you to come with me, when I move to Boston to join the Patriots,” Tyler said. “I don't want to go there alone.”
“Tyler...” Aileen said slowly.
He shook his head, sitting up and laying a finger gently over her lips to silence her. “No. Listen. Please.”
For a minute he was silent, obviously thinking. Aileen didn't interrupt him, as much as she would have liked to. He obviously had something to say and she would hear him out before she gave him her answer. It was the least she could do.
“I'm... honestly, I'm nervous. There are a lot of expectations that go with this. And a lot of pressure. There's so much that I have to do, and I'm not sure if I can handle it all on my own.”
Aileen's heart twisted. There was genuine fear in Tyler's voice, and she hated to hear him like that. See him that way. He had always been so confident. These kinds of nerves didn't fit him at all. “You're going to do amazing,” Aileen said. “Trust me. You've never done anything that wasn't spectacular, Tyler. I know that you're going to keep going on that way with the NFL. They're lucky to have you.”
“I would be lucky if you went with me,” Tyler said. “And... I don't want to have to wait for random weekends to see you.”
“So you want me to uproot my whole life? Give up track? School?” Aileen asked. She tried not to snap, to keep the words gentle, but there was an edge to them. He was asking for something that she couldn't give, like it was casual. After everything that she'd said during the fight when he'd been picked up by the Patriots, about how they were going to be so far away from each other and they were hardly ever going to get a chance for visits, he'd countered. He'd told her that it would all be okay. And now, here he was, asking her to leave her school and her friends so that he wouldn't have to deal with the things she'd warned him about in the first place.
Aileen took a deep breath. How was she going to say this to him? “I can't,” she said, very gently.
Tyler stared at her. “What do you mean?”
“I mean that I'm not going to leave Gatica, Tyler.” She shook her head. “I'm happy here. And I... I love you, but I 'm not going to uproot my whole life to move to Boston. That's where you're going. My life is here.”
“Your life is with me,” Tyler said. “Just like mine is with you.”
“No.” Aileen shook her head. “We're not—we're not there yet, Tyler. I mean, I love you. I do. I really do. But I'm not ready to move in with you. I'm not sure I'm ready for... looking at the kind of relationship that eventually expects to turn into marriage, you know?” She swallowed. “We moving in different directions right now.”
Tyler slid off the pile of high-jump mats and stood up, pacing across the grass. He spun on his heel and the eyes that he turned on her were anguished. “I thought you and I were on the same page with this.”
“And what page is that?”
“That I want to be with you forever.”
Aileen sighed, and straightened to a sitting position. “I'm not saying that I don't want to be with you forever, Tyler. Just that I'm not one hundred percent sure yet what I want. And I do know that I don't want to quit school to do it.”
“You don't have to quit school,” Tyler protested. “There are schools in Boston. Really good schools. With great track and field clubs in Boston. You’d lose your eligibility, but I could pay for your school. You could race internationally. Screw NCAAs.”
“That’s exactly the opposite of what you’ve done.”
He ignored her comment. “It would be great there, and we would be together. Please, Aileen, don't make me go out there alone. I really want you with me.”
It hurt to hear him beg like that. Hurt to see him hurting. But Aileen already knew that she couldn't change her answer. If she left Gatica, she lost more than just the school itself. She lost three years with all of the friends she had made. With the track team that she knew. With the coach she had come to trust completely.
“No,” she said again, sitting on the edge of the mats with her arms wrapped around her ribs. “I'm so sorry, Tyler. If I leave, I'll be leaving Jani and Chrissy and Coach Anderson. You had five years here. I want to have that, too.”
“So you won't come with me?” Tyler stared at her like he couldn’t believe he was losing.
“No,” Aileen said. “I’m sorry. I’m staying here. I have at least three years of school and you have a new life to start living. I can’t come with you. I’m not your safety catch. We… We both need to find our feet on our own and then see if… She didn’t finish.
Tyler turned on his heel and stalked away across the grass.
Silent and shocked, Aileen watched him go.
She could go after him. If she told him now that she would go with him, she was sure that he would stop. Would smile at her. Start planning their lives together.
But she would lose Gatica.
She didn't move from the mats until long after Tyler had slammed through the gates and disappeared, and when she did it was only to drop her face into her hands, like she could stop the tears that were welling in her eyes if she hid them behind her palms.
It didn't stop them.
Aileen sat on the high-jump mats in the empty stadium and cried for the boy she had lost, but even as she sobbed she knew that she'd made the right choice. One day she would see that.
Even if it took her heart forever to realize.
She’d just chosen track over a boy.
Which was insanely ironic because she’d picked the University of Gatica’s track program because of that boy.
