Where’s that hot man of
yours?” she winked.

He’ll be home late. Got
held up at work so I’ll meet him at his place.”

You should be there in
bed, naked, waiting for him.” She peeked over her
shoulder.

Furi pulled the key Syn
had given him out of his pocket before he left so he could let
himself in to his apartment. He twirled the small handcuffs
keychain around his finger, the thought of handcuffs making Furi’s
cock throb. Damn he was horny as fuck now. “He probably won’t be in
before it’s time for me to go to the shop tomorrow,” Furi
grumbled.
Ahhh. The life of loving a
police Sergeant.

You guys sure got serious
fast. I can tell you really like him,” Cindy crooned.

Furi smiled, suddenly feeling real
light-headed. “I love him,” he slurred. ‘Love’ ended up sounding
like ‘wuuub’ and Cindy laughed.

You better get on over
there sweetheart and take you a couple Tylenol before he gets
in.”

Maybe you’re right.” Furi
held his forehead as he fumbled off the stool almost knocking it
over. “Man dat last dink tweally racked a punch, Cindy.”

What?” she giggled.
“You’re not making any sense, Furi. I couldn't even make out what
that was. Go home and sleep it off. Your dick isn’t going to work
with all that alcohol in you.”

All that alcohol. But I
only had, one, two
– “Jeeez Louise.” Furi’s
tongue felt thick and heavy. He stumbled towards the door and
barreled through it almost face planting into the concrete before
he heard Cindy yell "Good night."

Uh, yeah. Nite.” Furi
wasn’t sure if he only said that in his mind or out loud. He looked
around him. Everything looked distorted and disfigured. He could
see Syn’s building across the street. He knew it was Syn’s building
but it looked miles away. The streetlights blinded him and he went
to take a step forward and his knees buckled.
Fuck. I’ve never been this drunk.
Furi stood there with his hands on his knees trying not to
drop and lie down right there on the sidewalk. It felt like he was
high as kite, like he’d just finished snorting a line.
Drugs
.
My drink
. The thought
had just registered in his hazy mind when he heard the scariest
voice imaginable behind him.

Looks like you could use
a little help, darlin.”

No. No. No.
Please
. Furi tried to reach for his cell
but his hands felt like they weighed a hundred pounds
each.

A strong hand wrapped around his
bicep, squeezing him in a punishing grip. Another hand was digging
in his back pocket.

You won’t be needing
this.” Furi heard his phone shatter on the concrete.

It felt like everything was moving in
slow motion. He was aware of what was happening, but was too weak
to do anything about it.

Get him across the street
Bren,” his ex-husband ordered. “Imagine how your little bastard
Sergeant will feel when he comes home and finds your brutally
beaten and mutilated body in his bed,” Patrick snarled in his
ear.

Furi felt like he was going to throw
up. The beaten and mutilated did sound horrific, but the thought of
Syn finding him like that was unimaginable.

Next thing he knew he was practically
being dragged across the street. The few people on the street at
that time of morning likely didn’t pay much attention to what they
must have thought was just another drunk, because no one called out
to them.

Pat please don’t do
this,” Furi mumbled as he was pulled through the hall to the
elevator. He wasn’t even sure if he was speaking his thoughts or if
they were only tumbling around in his mind. He tried to speak again
but his body was thrown viciously into the elevator. He crumbled to
the dirty floor like a sack of potatoes. He struggled to sit up but
it felt like there was a huge weight on him. He slowly brought his
hand to his chest realizing there was a huge boot keeping him
pinned to the floor. Furi tried to open his heavy eyelids wider. He
could just make out the angry frown on his brother-in-law's face
and it scared it him to death. He really was going to die
tonight.

Which apartment number
did she say it was?” Patrick asked and then a woman answered right
back.

It’s apartment 805.” The
woman said. Furi dragged his head up and saw Patrick with his cell
to his lips talking through the speaker.
Who is that he’s talking to?

Where are they now?”
Patrick asked.

They’re just pulling into
the precinct. I’ll keep you posted.”

Please don’t be talking
about Syn.”

Brenden was digging through Furi’s
pockets and pulled out the small keychain there. As soon as the
door was opened he was shoved so hard that he flew across the
coffee table, landing with a hard thud in front of the couch. Furi
groaned and struggled to gain some leverage to pull himself up on
the furniture.

We got eyes on your man
Furious,” Patrick sneered. “So I’ll make sure I’m done with you and
long gone before he gets here.”

Pat don’t.”

Brenden grabbed a fist full of Furi’s
hair and yanked him off floor. Furi thought he screamed out at the
pain. He was backhanded across the face, sending him flying back
onto the couch.

In his mind he was scurrying to get
away. But in actuality he was barely moving. Furi drug his hand
over his already sore face wincing at the pain. He was still trying
to stop the ringing in his ears from the backhand when Brenden
grabbed him by the throat and hauled him to his feet again. The
solid punch to Furi’s stomach brought tears to his eyes but when he
fell back to the floor that pain was multiplied by the kick to his
ribs.

Pat. Don’t let him hurt
me,” Furi said softly, completely out of breath.

Why not? You hurt me,”
Patrick said from somewhere in the room.

I just want to live my
li–” Brenden slapped Furi again.

Shut the fuck up,” he
yelled in his face.

Take him to the bedroom,”
Patrick ordered.

Please, don’t. Don’t do
it Patrick. I’ll come back with you. I promise. I’ll be a good
husband, I swear,” Furi slurred. He was grasping at Brenden’s hands
while he lugged him down the hall throwing him through the bedroom
door.

I don’t want you,”
Patrick said in his collected voice. “Not after you’ve let him have
you. Tell me Furious. Does he let you fuck him? Are you the top,
baby? Do you handle him like you tried to handle me? Or is he the
one fucking your sweet ass, huh? Because I know you love it any way
you can get it.”

Brenden grabbed Furi and threw him on
the bed like he was weightless. He tried to work his way off the
bed but Brenden grabbed his hair and pulled him back. “Try that
again and I’ll break your fuckin’ legs.”

Maybe it was the adrenaline coursing
through him counteracting the drugs they'd put in his drink but
Furi was able to see a little more clearly. His limbs were still
too heavy to fight back though. “What’d you give me?” Furi panted.
It felt like his heart was going to beat out of his
chest.

Ecstasy, dipshit. You’re
the porn slut. You don’t know what ecstasy feels like?” Brenden
said, slapping Furi’s face again. This time Furi could taste the
blood from his split lip. “Oh and there’s a little something extra
in it too.”

Brenden check in,”
Patrick said.

Brenden caught the two-way radio
Patrick tossed to him. “Girls come back.”

Furi looked around nervously for
anything he could use as a weapon. He knew Syn had guns in the
house, in this room. But he doubted he could get to one and use it
properly in his drugged state. He was fucked.

Yeah?” The woman’s voice
crackled through the speaker.

What’s the
twenty?”

It looks like they’re all
stopping for something to eat,” the woman responded. “I think you
guys should hurry up.”

Just tell us when they’ve
left,” Brenden barked before tucking the radio in his back
pocket.

Furi’s drugged eyes left Brenden and
focused on Patrick and couldn't figure out why the fuck he was
taking his clothes off.

Looks like my time is
almost up. I’m going to fuck you real good one last time darlin,
before I kill you. Bren, you want to get a little taste too?”
Patrick’s laugh was so sinister, Furi had no doubt he was about to
make good on his threat. “Brenden, turn the radio up all the way so
the neighbors can’t hear him scream.”

No. Not like this.
Syn!!!!

Please
Say It's Over’

We got a tail,” Day said
from the front seat.

You sure?” God cut his
eyes to the rearview mirror.

Syn didn’t dare turnaround. “Who the
hell would be following us?”

That same dark Chrysler
was behind us when we pulled into the station an hour ago. Now it's
back there again on the right.”

There’s a lot of
Chryslers around here, sweetheart. You’re just tired,” God
grumbled.

Don’t patronize me God.
Make a right up here,” Day ordered.

Syn didn’t turn around but obviously
the car had followed because Day turned to look at God with an ‘I
told you so’ expression. “Make a left.”

This time the car had to swerve over
two lanes in order to turn behind them.

I’ll lose them,” God
stepped on the gas.

No. Don’t. I want to know
what the fuck is going on. Pull into an all-night diner and
park.”

Syn just barely restrained his
annoyance. All he wanted to do was get to his place since he was
sure Furi was there waiting on him, keeping the bed
warm.

They all got out of God’s truck and
walked into the dinner like they were just there to have a bite to
eat. Instead, they walked straight to the back, flashing their
badges. “We need to go out your back door,” Syn told the
tired-looking waitress. She looked like she couldn't care less,
pointing over her shoulder without bothering to stop
texting.

They opened the back door of the
restaurant and jogged up the alley. Day peeked out. “They’re two
cars down.” The men walked fast, approaching the vehicle from
behind. Syn could see that there were two girls in the car, the
backseat empty. God went around to the passenger side and Day
walked up to the driver. The window was already down so Day
squatted and peered inside. As soon as she noticed them the girl
scrambled to grab something in her lap, but Day grabbed it first.
It appeared to be a walkie-talkie.

Why are you following
us?” he asked calmly. God was watching the passenger closely while
Syn opened the back door to make sure no one was in the
back.

Hey! Close my door. You
don’t have a warrant to search my car!” the driver
yelled.

Don’t need one. Tell me
why you’re following us and maybe I won’t take you to jail if it’s
a good enough reason,” Day said staring intently at the women for
any readable tells.

Like I said. We're not.”
She looked back at Syn and gave him an angry glare before turning
her attention back to Day.

Give me my phone back,
I’m leaving.” She held her hand out the window.

This isn’t a phone, it’s
a radio. Who’s on the other end?” Day asked.

None of your–”

The radio interrupted her answer.
“Girls what are they doing now?”

Syn immediately recognized that voice.
Syn knew that voice as sure as he knew his own. That voice almost
bought Syn to his knees.

Syn barely registered Day pulling his
weapon – always the fastest to act. He grabbed the woman by the
back of her neck and her passenger started screaming bloody murder.
God slammed his hand over her mouth. “Scream again and I’ll slap a
fuckin’ muzzle on you.” Her eyes were wide as saucers, but when God
pulled his hand away she didn’t make a peep.
