AXEL

“What’s your plan?” I asked Trista. I was itchin’ to do whatever it took to take that bastard down. Take down all those motherfuckers who think they can fuck with my club or my girl. They’re about to learn real quick.

Trista stood, and started pacing, biting her bottom lip like she always did when she was lost in thought. “Hold on, I need to check on some things first. But if this comes together, it’s going to solve a lot of our problems. I’ve just got to call Chen first, and put some balls in motion.”

Trista left the room, already dialing her phone as she went. Paige leaned back, sinking into me.

“This is unbelievable. I mean, how could someone knowingly put innocent victims in harms way like that? Someone who’s supposed to be protecting the public.”

Ryder shook his head. “The only thing that asshole has ever protected was his own ass. Trust me. He pulled the same shit with Sawyer.”

Did Sawyer say something to Velasquez? Is that why she’d been MIA? What wasn’t Ryder telling us?

Everyone sat silently for a few minutes, digesting what we’d just heard. I turned to Gina. “Did Velasquez say anything else to you today?”

“Not really. He just said that he’d be in touch soon.”

Trista came barreling back into the room. “Okay. Chen’s in. He is pissed as hell about his guys being killed, though. Said he’s going to want the next two shipments free.”

Rogue scowled. “Give it to him. Fucking Rocco hurt us there. Did he say anything about the cars today?”

“Rev is with him, and the boat arrives in an hour. Looks like it’s going to go off without a problem.”

“Thank God,” Ace added. “We don’t need anymore issues today.”

“So, about Velazquez, he said he’s happy to help bring that prick down. Its just good business.”

Blaze smiled. “Good. So what’s the plan?”

A wicked smile spread on Trista’s face. “We’re going to get two birds with one stone.”

***

A couple hours later, we had Gina make a call to Velasquez, saying she overheard me telling Paige that I needed to head to the warehouse at the docks for a few hours. We were already aware that Velasquez knew about the warehouse, so this wasn’t givin’ anything away.

“He asked about Rocco,” Gina told us.

“Why?” Trista asked. We didn’t need this little girl to know about the newest body in our collection.

“Said they had some sort of arrangement.”

I shook my head. “That fucker had been paying him off, telling him wrong times for shipments, so he wouldn’t be here when his own shit went down.” He was smarter than I had given him credit for.

“Chen, you ready?” Trista asked over the walkie-talkie. “Everything in place?”

“We’re good to go,” he replied. “Cameras are up and running, and my boys had a little chat with El Presidente earlier.”

“Perfect,” she mused. “The trap has been baited. Now, we wait.”

“So, how exactly is this going to work, Tris?” I asked her.

We were all cramped in the small storage unit three doors down from our warehouse. It wasn’t air-conditioned, and we were all hot as fuck, but I was willing to sweat a bit if it meant being rid of this asshole once and for all.

Trista twisted to face me. “As soon as Velasquez gets in range, Chen’s tech buddies set it up so we’ll be able to clone his phone, essentially giving us access to everything he knows.”

“We’ll also be able to use his phone. Send messages, or make calls, as if they’re coming from him,” Blaze added.

“Fuckin’ brilliant!”

“Oh! There he is now,” Trista nodded her head to where a black sedan pulled to a stop half a block away. A few seconds later, Velasquez stepped out, looking around nervously. He crept around the building, and out of eyesight, but thanks to Chen and the Red Dragons, we had cameras mounted all over and we could see on the monitors where exactly he was and what was going on.

Trista grabbed the walkie-talkie again. “Alright, Chen. Send the text.”

“You got it.”

Trista anticipated my question and explained, “We’re texting Chubs as Velasquez, telling him to get his ass down here now.”

Not ten minutes later, a motorcycle roared into the parking lot, parking behind Velasquez’s car.

“Yo!” Chubs yelled, dismounting. “Where are you, Velasquez? What the fuck was so urgent?”

The FBI agent came around the corner in a hurry, finger to his lips as he tried to shush his loud-mouthed rat. All while our cameras caught the whole thing on tape. “What the fuck are you doing here, Chubs?”

Chubs cocked his head. “What are you talking about? You texted me, saying to meet you here. That you had some information on Gina. You promised me you’d get her back for me.”

Velasquez blew out a breath. “Jesus, Chubs. You weren’t supposed to try to kill her. At least, not yet. I’m not done with her.”

Chubs growled, grabbing Velasquez by the collar, and getting in his face. “The bitch is fucking mine. Mine to do with whatever I want. And if that cunt wants to turn on me, turn on my MC, then I’ll do whatever the fuck I want to her. Got it?”

Velasquez nodded vigorously, straining to talk under Chub’s tight grip. “Yeah, I got it. Like I told you, I don’t give a shit if you want to cut her up in tiny pieces and keep them under your pillow, but just wait until I’ve milked more information out of her. Once I’m sure she’s given me everything she knows, she’s all yours.”

Ryder and I eyed each other. His jaw was taut, and I knew he was as pissed off as I was right now. “I want to kill that son of a bitch,” he growled. “I don’t even want to imagine what he was willing to do to Sawyer.”

I squeezed my fist so tight that my nails dug into the skin on my palms. “Don’t worry, he’s gonna pay. They’re both gonna pay.”

Chubs let Velasquez go. He stumbled back a few steps, coughing and straightening his tie. “Now that that’s cleared up, talk to me about the drugs. Is there a new shipment coming soon?”

Chubs rolled his eyes. “Jesus, you’re impatient. You just busted those prospects like two weeks ago with almost seven grand in product.”

Velasquez smirked. “Yeah, well, that never quite made it to evidence, so now I need something else to take to my boss.”

“What do you mean, it never made it? You snorted seven G’s worth of blow?”

Velasquez contorted his face in disgust. “Absolutely not. But my ex wife’s up my ass about back alimony, and my new girl needed new tits. I mean, you should see the size of these things now. Like two ripe honeydews, and my God, they squeeze my cock almost as nicely as her pussy. The rest went to pay off my new boat.”

Chubs snorted. “Fuckin’ greedy ass pig.”

“You’re one to talk. Haven’t you been trimming from the top for years now? Cause I know you didn’t buy that condo in Cabo on a mechanic’s salary.”

Chubs narrowed his eyes. “That’s for my mother.”

“Sure, whatever you say.” He looked around. “Alright. I think we were sent on a wild goose chase. I’m outta here.” He slipped his sunglasses back on. “And listen, get me the details of the next buy before the weekend. You got it?”

Chubs turned, heading back to his bike. “Whatever. You’ll get them when you get them.”

A smile broke out on my face as Trista high fived Ryder. “Those fuckers are going down.”

After Chen was able to transfer the recordings onto flash drives, we put one in an envelope, and dropped it in the mail anonymously for Velasquez’s boss at the FBI. The other I insisted on personally bringing to El Presidente.

Trista shook her head. “I don’t think it’s a good idea, Axel. Riding that deep into Almas territory by yourself, no matter the reason, is not a good idea. Not after we put bullets in three of their heads less than a week ago. They’re looking for any reason for revenge. Don’t give them one. We’ll meet with El Presidente on neutral ground tomorrow. Rogue is going to set it up tonight.”

“No way. Too much could happen between now and then. I’m not givin’ that fucker any time to slip away. You heard Velasquez. He could get wind of this, and be out of the country before Rogue gets the chance to meet. Or even worse, he could find the girls before then. No. It needs to be tonight.”  I mounted my bike, reaching for my dome.

Trista eyed the rest of the guys there. “Fine. We’ll do this now. But we’re coming too. No way I’m letting you to ride alone.”

Blaze, Ryder, and Ace nodded, mounting their bikes too.

“You guys sure?”

Ryder nodded. “You go. We go.”

I fastened the strap. “Alright. But I want to get the girls and bring them to Raven’s Nest first. Just in case. I don’t want Chubs to have any chances to get to them.”

I pulled out my phone, tellin’ Paige and Gina to be ready in twenty minutes. The girls were already on the porch, waiting, when we pulled up.

“So, this is really it? You’re going to get him now?” Gina asked, her voice shaky.

“After tonight, you’ll never have to worry about him again. I promise you that.”

She smiled, the tension in her shoulders loosening. “Then, what are we waiting for?”

Paige swung her leg over the bike, her hands wrappin’ around my body, and I pulled her closer as she rested her cheek on my shoulder blade. Just having her hands on me made my dick stir, but I shook the thought.  We had shit to do. After tonight, I’d have all the time in the world to enjoy Paige touching my body—and trust me, I would—but for now business came first.

Gina hopped on with Ace, and we took off. Once we made it to Raven’s Nest, I escorted the girls safely inside.

Paige held back, anxiety etched all over her face. “I’m worried, Axel. This guy is not going to go down easy.”

I took her hands in mine, kissing both sets of knuckles. “It’s going to be fine. I promise.”

She didn’t look convinced, biting the side of her lip. “Just…just be careful and come back to me. Okay?”

I pulled her in for a deep kiss, tilting her head back, and almost dipping her. I ignored the hoots and whistles from everyone else. I didn’t give a fuck about what they thought. I poured everything I felt for Paige, every emotion she brought out in me through that kiss. When I finally released her, and set her on her feet again, she was flushed. Good, exactly what I was going for.

“I’ll always come back to you.” I slipped my dome on again. “Always, babe. It’s your and me. Got it?”

She smiled. “Got it,” she replied, placing one last kiss on my lips before turning and heading inside.

I watched her swing that sweet ass through the doors before reaching for the Remington and two clips, adding a third to my belt clip, just in case. Trista, of course went for her favorite, a Colt .45, complete with silencer.  Ryder and Blaze both reached for Colts while Ace always was packing, just grabbing some extra ammo for his Smith and Wesson.

Once we were armed to the nines, we took off, driving directly into Almas territory. Not even a mile over the boarder, three bikes pulled in, flanking us, and revving their engines.

“Just keep going. Don’t stop until we reach El Presidente’s house,” Trista called out. “Rogue promised to call and tell him that we’re coming, and not to shoot on sight.”

“He knows why we’re coming?” I couldn’t risk Chubs finding out too.

“No,” she called back. “Just that we have something to offer him. Don’t worry, Axel.”

I nodded and sped up, the others right behind me.
We’ll get the fucker this time
, I thought. By the time we reached El Presidente’s house, there were almost a dozen Almas bikes surrounding us. I cut my engine, eyeing the others as I dismounted. Within seconds, Trista was at my side, Blaze right next to her. Ryder flanked my left, with Ace watching our backs.

Isidro, or El Presidente as he was better known, stepped out his front door, several very heavily armed men on either side of him.  “I hear you have somethin’ to show me. Somethin’ that couldn’t wait? But, yet, I don’t see my three missing trailers.”

I reached in my back pocket, and several guns pointed at my head and chest. “Whoa. Calm down. I’m just getting something out of my pocket. As for the cars, well you know… business.”

“We’ll lower the guns after we see what it is,” he replied. “And only if we like what we see.”

I bit back the retort on my tongue, knowin’ it would only hurt my cause. Pullin’ out the tiny thumb drive, I took a hesitant step forward, and handed it to El Presidente. “Do you have a laptop handy? Cause you’re going to want to see this. Now.”

He glanced to his left, and a guy with a long scar running down his face handed El Presidente a tablet. Plugging in the thumb drive, he turned to me. “This had better be worth my time, ese.”

“Trust me, it will be.”

The video popped up, and he hit play, listening through a pair of headphones. I knew when he reached the good stuff. His eyes grew wide, then narrowed, as his jaw tightened so much I thought he might crack a tooth.

I turned back, winking at Trista, who smugly crossed her arms, the rest of the guys nodding in amusement.

El Presidente took the earphones off, and looked up at me. “Thank you, friend, for bringing this to my attention. Is this copy for me to keep?”

“Absolutely. Do with it whatever you see fit.”

“Oh don’t worry, ese, I plan to. This makes us even then. For the cars?”

I nodded. “I hope so.”

He whistled, and three guys stepped forward. “Bring me Leo Alvarez. NOW!”

One of the guys looked confused. “Chubs? Why?”

El Presidente backhanded him across the face, spinning him around. “Just do it! I want him here in the next ten minutes, or he won’t be the only one to feel my wrath tonight.”

“One more thing,” I said. “Before it’s over, be sure he knows exactly who made it happen. And give him a message for me. You let him know that he fucked with the wrong girls.” I turned, heading back to my bike.

El Presidente didn’t say anything as we drove off, but somehow I knew my message would get delivered.

Trista and Blaze took off, wanting to check on a shipment coming in to the warehouse, though we all knew they were going off to fuck, and Ace sped off too, leaving Ryder and me headed back to the girls at Raven’s Nest. As we rounded the corner out of Almas territory, a lone motorcycle on a side street caught my attention.

“Is that…?” I slowed, Ryder doing the same.

“What’s up, Ax?”

I looked back down the street. “I need to check something. Follow me.”

Ryder shrugged, but did as I asked. As we circled the block, coming up on the street I saw the bike on again, I turned down it this time. My heart sunk as we reached the rider on the bike.

Jesus. Fuckin’. Christ.

“What the fuck are you doin’ here, kid?” I demanded.

Cruz looked like a deer caught in headlights.

“Fuck,” he whispered under his breath before turning to Ryder. “I can explain.”
