“Did they take the three extra cars?” I asked Axel, as he got out of the truck.

“Yep. Except that there weren’t three cars, there were an extra six. That second trailer was bigger than the other two. He said that he can call a couple guys, and offload the other three cars, but right now they’re kind of sittin’ in the open. We covered them up, but if Victor comes around, we’re gonna get caught.”

I pulled out my cell, and immediately dialed Chen’s number. He picked up after only one ring. “You have extra cars?”

There was a lot of commotion in the background. “Yeah, and my dad isn’t super happy about it. How did you not count them first?”

I shrugged. I hadn’t even considered extra vehicles. “We just had to get the hell out of there before the cops, or anyone else, came. I hadn’t planned on the second trailer being bigger than the others. But I guess that does make sense.”

“Well, we have a couple buyers that are coming by in the next half an hour. That’s a lot of people at the warehouse, Trista. I don’t know how we can keep this quiet. I have my guys crawling all over this place, and the old man is still here monitoring the situation. By the way, I saw Rogue, what the hell happened to him?”

I glanced over, as Bones helped Rev carry him out of the back of one of the cargo trucks. He looked pretty beat up as my mom ran toward him. I could tell he was almost conscious, waving her off like it was nothing. Typical him. I was just so relieved he was alive. I couldn’t imagine what it would have felt like to lose him. I sighed. “I guess he just got into a little bit of a fight with the Mexicans. And I guess he lost.”

Chen chuckled at the other end of the line. “I would’ve liked to see that. I didn’t think anyone could take down the old bastard.”

“I’ll be sure to tell him that. But really, Chen, what are we going to do?”

He was quiet for a moment. “If anything goes down, I’m sure you’ll know about it. I’m keeping two of my guys here on watch.”

“Why? We can handle it.”

“Can you? I thought you still had a rat on the loose.”

Shit, we did. Pops hadn’t found out anything new during his talks with all the guys. I didn’t respond back to him.

“Yeah that’s what I thought. So they stay until the shipment is sent out. I’ll leave the rest of the money with Pops. It was a pleasure doing business with you.”

“As always.”

I watched as the guys walked into the clubhouse, excited to celebrate our success. Everyone had come back whole, except Blaze and Cruz. They hadn’t come back yet. I forced the panic down, and waited outside in the afternoon sun, hoping they would arrive any second in the third cargo truck. I picked my nails as I stood on the hot asphalt, taking deep breaths, and trying to keep myself calm. The traitor would’ve been halfway to Mexico by now; there was no way he would turn around for revenge. Unless someone had radioed in to the Las Almas stationed at the auction house and asked for help. I’d hoped we’d been swift enough that no call had been made, but if it did, Blaze and Cruz could be in trouble. Gravel crunched underneath boots, causing me to glance over my shoulder. Ryder was standing behind me.

“You okay? Your dad’s going to be fine. He’s a tough old bastard.”

I nodded. “He’s not who I’m worried about. That old bastard can live through anything.”

“Blaze?”

I nodded slowly. “They should be back any second. I’m just waiting.”

Ryder squinted at me. “You really care about him, don’t you? I mean, when I saw him at your apartment the other night, he was just so comfortable, like he belonged. Makes me think he’s there a lot. ”

I chewed on my lower lip. “Yeah. What’s it to you?”

“You in love with him?”

I sucked in a deep breath, feeling like I had just been punched in the stomach. I didn’t know how to answer him. But the worry that was growing deep in my core was telling me that I already knew the answer to his question. “I don’t know yet.”

He set his lips into a thin line. “You need to figure it out. You have to tell the MC and your dad. Especially if he feels the same way.”

I knew he was right. It was probably time to let everyone know, especially when they were in such a celebratory mood. I was hoping they would be so drunk that they would just pat Blaze on the back and move on, no questions. But, just as I was about to agree with him, our oversized pickup truck came rumbling into the parking lot. Cruz leaned heavily on the steering wheel, and Blaze sat slouched in the passenger seat, looking grim. Something was wrong.

TRISTA

Cruz hopped out of the driver side, attempting to walk straight past me. I put my hand on his chest. He wasn’t going anywhere ‘til I got some answers. “What happened?”

He shrugged, acting confused. “Nothing! Everything went fine. The bikes are all in the back of the truck, and we took care of everything.”

I glared at him. I knew he was lying. Blaze strode over to us, and I turned my assault on him. “What happened back there? Something’s wrong. I can tell by the look on your face.”

Blaze blew out a breath, looking at the ground. “There was a slight complication.”

I frowned at both of them. “What kind of complication?”

Blaze shook his head. “We got all the bikes, and most of the bodies.”

Ryder chimed in. “Most?”

Cruz started blabbering, and waving his arms wildly. “There was this one guy, he was kind of halfway down the hill? I don’t know, we just couldn’t reach him. And then we heard the sirens so we had to bail. Could be days until they find him anyway, if the vultures and the coyotes don’t find him first. I wouldn’t worry about it.”

I poked him in the chest. “Of course you wouldn’t worry about it. You’re just a kid! This job was on me. And if it wasn’t cleaned up properly, that comes back on me too. You two had one job!”

Blaze put his hands up in surrender. “I tried to work as fast as I could, but some people were a little squeamish around the dead bodies. I had to lift one of the guys by myself! It took forever.”

Ryder pushed me aside and got right into Cruz’s face. “Is this true? Could you not handle it?”

Cruz blew up. “You know I can handle it! And I wasn’t being a pussy. I was just interested. Wanted to see how they died, I don’t know maybe I’ll be like Bones one day. Get into the medical field or something. Don’t you think that’s kind of important?”

Ryder put his hand over his eyes. “Sure, Cruz, that’s important. But not when you’re trying to get rid of dead bodies, you dumbass. Guys that
we
killed.” He shook his head and walked back toward the clubhouse. Cruz followed, his head hanging in shame.

Blaze and I stood outside in the waning sunlight for just a few more moments, as I waited to see what he would say. Finally he spoke. “I think it’s going to be fine. He was really far down there, and there wasn’t any other evidence of a crash. No one will even look for him. The cops will just drive through, see that no one’s still around, and move on.” He paused and looked straight into my eyes. I couldn’t help but melt a little, no matter all the stress I was feeling. Those eyes always reeled me in. “Trista, there’s nothing tying this back to us. The cars aren’t even here, and no one knows about the warehouse.”

I rolled my eyes and threw my arms up, backing away. “For now. The warehouse is crawling with Red Dragons. They had to find a couple new buyers because we grabbed more cars than we were supposed to. Chen seems to think he has it figured out, but I just thought we got out of there unscathed. How did it all go to hell once we got back?”

Blaze stepped to me and lifted my chin with his knuckle so that our eyes met. “It’s going to be fine. Now, let’s go in there and celebrate with everyone else that no one got killed today. We can worry about the rest later.”

He laid a soft kiss on my lips, the stress melting away with his touch.  I nodded, and he walked past me and into the clubhouse. I took one more deep breath, and followed him, just praying that nothing else would go wrong tonight.

SIX

TRISTA

The place was hopping. Everybody had a drink in his or her hand, even my dad who was on the couch, holding a pack of ice to his face with one hand and clutching a beer in the other hand. He didn’t look quite as beat up as I initially thought. He must’ve just gotten one really good punch to the face, which knocked him out. Thank God, whatever Mexican had done that to him, had decided not to end it with a gunshot too. We’d been lucky. Blaze grabbed a bottle of beer off the bar, and walked upstairs toward the pool room. We had a few great memories there, and I was hoping he wanted to relive them. A little stress relief would be nice.

Larry wiped the bar down, and then tossed the towel over his shoulder before coming to a stop in front of me. He nodded his head toward me. “What are you drinking?”

“Anything strong.”

With a smile, he headed over to the hard liquor, grabbing a bottle of vodka. As I waited for my drink, I scanned the bar watching everyone celebrate. My eyes fell on Rocco. He stood alone staring at his phone. There was something… off with him, but I couldn’t quite pinpoint it. When he noticed me looking at him, he hurried up the stairs, and I followed him. Blaze would have to wait a moment. The panicked look in Rocco’s eyes didn’t sit right with me.

I crept slowly the stairs, careful to avoid the ones I knew creaked, and, when I reached the top, I held up my finger to tell Blaze to wait for me. He gave me a puzzled look from behind the pool table. Rocco had made his way down the dark hallway, and into the single bedroom apartment that the club provided for whoever needed it. Sometimes guys stayed here when they needed another place to crash. This life set you up for a lot of issues with your loved ones, and a lot of fights that got them kicked out of their house for an evening. It was a safe haven. The door at the end of the hallway was open just a crack, and light streamed out, signaling that Rocco must’ve gone in there to take a call. I crept down the hallway, trying my best not to make a single noise, and eavesdropped at the door.

“I can’t talk to you now. I told you not to call me. How did you get this number?” His voice was rushed and panicked.

I strained my ear against the wood to listen for more. Who the hell was he talking to?

“I’ll have your shit. I promise. But we can’t discuss this now, I’ll meet you later. Don’t call me again!”

Not hearing anything else, I scurried away from the door before he came out and caught me. I grabbed a cue stick from the wall, and hurried over to Blaze, as Rocco came down the hall. He narrowed his eyes at each of us before descending the stairs.

“What was that about?” Blaze asked me as he racked the balls.

“I don’t really know. He was mad somebody was calling him. Said something about having someone’s stuff.” I chewed my lip in frustration. Who was he talking to? What could he possibly be hiding from the club?

Blaze smirked at me. “You listening in on people’s conversations, now?”

I sighed. “I shouldn’t be. It’s just...I know that Pops questioned us all and said that we were in the clear, but I’m just not sure I believe it.”

“I’m sure it was just some girl. Doesn’t he have an ex? Or maybe some girl stalking him. You never know. I wouldn’t worry about it.”

I chewed on my lower lip and nodded. Something about the conversation worried me, but I couldn’t put my finger on what it was.

“Let’s play. If I remember last time, we didn’t get a full game in.” He winked at me, and turned the blue chalk onto the tip of his stick.

I leaned over the pool table, setting up my shot.  Blaze stood on the other side of the table, getting a perfect view of my chest. I reached up and gave my shirt a tug, revealing even more. Before I hit the ball, I peered up through my lashes and gave him a wink.  A smirk formed on his face.

“Are you trying to tease me?”

I hit the cue ball, sinking the 8 ball into the corner pocket. I looked up at him innocently.

“And, what if I was?”

He dropped his pool stick, and came up behind me, pressing his bulge into my ass.

“Two can play at this teasing game.”

I pushed my ass harder into him as he ran his right hand up my leg and to my stomach.

His hand gripped my waist, and flipped me around to face him. My hands landed on his hips and I didn’t waste a second, tugging off his shirt. He smiled that gorgeous smile I loved, and he leaned in to kiss me. My eyes slid shut, waiting for our lips to touch, but, at the last second, he moved his face to the side, and blew lightly on my neck, sending shivers down my body.

He lightly kissed my neck while moving his hands to the bottom of my shirt, lightly rubbing my skin.

I braced my hands behind me on the pool table, and leaned my head back, reveling in his touch.  He hooked his hands under my shirt, and lifted it up over my head before he grabbed my face and teased me again, licking my slightly parted lips with the tip of his tongue.

I leaned my face forward, hoping to capture his lips, but he moved his face to the side again, and trailed a line of steamy hot kisses along my neckline. His hand ran under my breasts, and continued moving to my back, unhooking my bra.

His rough hands captured my breasts as his mouth kissed down to the sensitive skin between my neck and my shoulder.

My head fell back as a soft moan slipped from my lips.

“Enjoying that, huh?” he whispered between licks.  As I was about to answer yes, he nibbled lightly on my nipple, causing a ripple of pleasure to run down my body.

“I’ll take that as a yes,” he murmured throatily as he lifted me up and leaned me down on the pool table.

He reached down to my waist line and pulled at my jeans.

He pushed my arms up over my head, and trailed his lips across my body, stopping just above my underwear.

My back arched in response to his touch, and I tightened my legs around his waist, moving my hips slowly on him.

He leaned up and backed away. I looked up at him in confusion, but he just smiled. His hand went to the button of his pants, and he undid them as I bit my lip in anticipation of what was about to happen. He stepped out of the restricting material, and started to rub his length.

I trailed my hand down my breasts to my underwear line and pushed my thong aside. Fuck, he hadn’t even really touched me yet, and I was already slick.

“I love watching you play with yourself,” he said as his hand moved faster on his cock.

I opened my legs wider, and rubbed my core. I leaned my head back, and enjoyed every sensation, closing my eyes and moaning his name.

The pressure started to build inside me as I got close to orgasm.

“That’s it, Trista.  Make yourself come for me.”

I rubbed myself faster, wanting to fulfill his request. Pleasure coursed through my body, climbing to a release when he pushed himself inside me, filling me completely. I jolted my head up in response, and let out a loud moan. My hand stopped momentarily in surprise.

“Don’t stop. Keep going,” he grunted, as he thrust himself inside and pulled out slowly. A mind- numbing combination that had me digging my nails into the soft felt of the pool table.

I started to move my fingers again, knowing that I was so close to the edge.  I tightened my legs around his waist, pushing myself onto him, and taking him deeply each time he slowly entered me.  I circled my clit with fast strokes, and I gripped him harder as my orgasm bubbled over.

“Fuck me harder, Blaze,” I moaned.  He smirked and continued with his slow pace, dragging out my orgasm, and making it last longer than I thought possible.  Shivers ran down me, so that I was shaking uncontrollably as I let the last of the sensations consume me. Fuck, he made me feel good.

He leaned his hard strong body over me, pushing him in deeper, and kissing me roughly on the lips. I ground my hips against his as our kiss deepened.

A mischievous look passed through his beautiful brown eyes. Despite my orgasm, desire consumed me, and I couldn’t wait for what was next. He slipped out of me, and quickly flipped me around, draping my body over the pool table.  His fingers wrapped around my right leg and he urged it up onto the ledge as he pushed my body forward, and thrust inside me.  He guided my hips as he pumped in and out.  His hand came down with a light smack on my ass, mixing pleasure with pain, causing a loud moan to rumble up my throat.

He grabbed my hair, tugging my head back as he kept his other hand on my hips.

His hips rocked into me harder, and the pressure in my core started to build up again.  With each of his thrusts, I shoved my hips back onto his, taking him deeper inside me each time.

He urged my torso farther down onto the pool table while he tangled his fingers in my hair.

He pushed up hard inside me, slowly moving his hips from side to side.  He was so deep, his balls were resting against my ass, the feeling indescribable, and another moan forced itself out.

Slowly, he pulled out, removing his hands from my hair.  His mouth pressed to the top of my spine as he continued to trailed kisses down my back. He smacked my ass again and pushed my left leg on to the table. He climbed up behind me, and pulled back my hips to meet his.

My body was spent, but I wanted more. I wanted everything Blaze would give me. So, I willingly obeyed his every request, letting him move me around like his own personal sex doll. He reached his right hand around, and rubbed my slit as he pounded into me. I was at my breaking point when his hips began to move faster, harder.

I leaned my head back as the pace of his fingers and his hips picked up, taking me over the edge into pure bliss. Moans poured out of me as my whole body shook.  A loud guttural moan ripped from his lips as he came with me.

“Fuck, that was good,” I purred at him.

He pulled his pants on, and I sighed my disapproval. “You know, it could be even better,” he said, looking up and catching my gaze.

“What does that mean?” I asked as I grabbed my shirt.

“We could do this all the time, but we need to tell your dad, and the MC. I want to make it official.”

I sauntered back over to him, “You don’t want to just be my fuck buddy?”

“You know I don’t.” He paused. “You know I want more,” he whispered hotly in my ear.

I sighed, I knew he was right, and that it was time.

“Fine, but I want to do it. Let me go downstairs, and talk to Mom and Rogue first, then we can tell the other guys. I mean they all practically know anyway.”

“Then it shouldn’t be a big deal,” he said, smacking me on the ass.

I hoped it wasn’t.

I walked back downstairs, running my fingers through my hair to get rid of the just fucked look, prepared to tell Rogue about Blaze and I. It was time. But, when I saw Pops standing next to the bar, I wanted to check in about the cars first. Something about the way Rocco was earlier just gave me a bad feeling. I wanted to make sure the cars were in safe hands.

“I didn’t think I would see you here tonight. Those three cars are gone already?”

Pops took a swig from his can of beer before setting it down the bar. “Yep. Only one buyer, but he took all three. Gorgeous little cars.”

“But, what about the rest of them? I mean, who’s on warehouse duty tonight?” I wasn’t happy that Chen’s guys felt the need to stay, but at least with one or two of our members there plus his men, I was sure everything was safe.

His brows came together in confusion. “What are you talking about? There’s two Red Dragons left, plus Rocco came to relieve me.”

I looked around the bar, and, sure enough, Rocco was nowhere in sight.

“Fuck.” No one had sent Rocco. I was sure of it. Whoever had been on the phone wasn’t a girlfriend.

I yelled over to Rev. “Rev, come here! I need to ask you something.” If anyone was close with Rocco, it was either Rev or Ace, so if he was mixed up in something, they would know.

Rev stumbled over to me, looking a little bit drunker than I would’ve liked, but he still might have information. “What do you want?”

“Does Rocco have an ex-girlfriend? Someone that he would’ve blocked her calls.”

Rev shook his head. “Nah. Roc always has kind of been out there. He doesn’t have any girls.”

“Has he been acting weird lately? Anything unusual?”

Rev cocked his head at me. “You know, yeah. A couple times, Ace and I asked him to ride with us, but he said he was meeting someone, like he couldn’t come. But then, when we’d bring it up later, he’d get mean.” He shrugged, obviously not connecting the dots. But I was.

“What about when Ace got grabbed? How was he with that?”

“Worried, man, but we all were. You know Ace, always in trouble with loan sharks.”

But I did know Ace, and I knew that for once, he was clean. Pops had confirmed it after interrogating him. Ace honestly had no idea why he was taken. He even said that the gang acted like they had the wrong guy. What if they did? What if someone else owed them something, like stolen cars?

Blaze walked up behind me, laying his fingers across my back. He still thought we were on track to tell the MC about us. I spun around so that we were face-to-face. “Get Ryder and Axel. We need to get to the warehouse, now.”
