Chapter 14

They pulled up at the restaurant. The cab driver winked suggestively at her as he said, “Have a nice night, folks.”

She tried not to groan as she slid across the seat to exit the cab, yet a small whimper hitched from her throat.

Reece took her hand to help her out, and he didn't smirk as much as she thought he would. His gaze was soft and he looked at her with such warmth that it made her flush. His hand was a light caress on her back as they headed into the restaurant.

Reece gave their name to the maitre d' who announced that their party was already seated. She'd known they were late. In the back of her mind, a small, irrational hope had blossomed. The hope was that her and Reece could get to the restaurant first, so she could sit without wincing in front of Danica. The woman had the eyes of a hawk.

That hope was dashed with the maitre d's announcement. Reece squeezed her against the side of his body leaned down to whisper out of earshot, “Don't even think of going into the bathroom and removing either the plug or the egg. Remember what I said.”

In the middle of the restaurant, already seated at their table were Danica and her husband, Bob. Chloe hugged Danica then Bob and made introductions.

“Reece, this is my closest friend in the whole world, and the guy who stole her and keeps her in the basement of his house so I never see her.”

Danica playfully slapped at Chloe's arm. “Oh, stop it. You're the one who kept putting off dinner when I have practically been begging to see you.”

She pulled Reece into a hug. “Reece, it's nice to finally meet you.”

He seemed surprised by the hug, but covered it well. Chloe was watching Reece carefully as Bob thrust a hand at him.

Chloe watched them interact. She hadn't given Reece any warning about Bob. She'd only told him that Danica was her closest friend. And she wanted them to meet, that in fact, Danica had been after her for a week or two for the couples to have dinner together.

“Hey there buddy. How they hanging? Looks like the little women dragged us out of our man-caves for a night of fancy-pants dining, huh?”

Reece shook Bob's hand. His crooked smile was wry, but filled with light amusement and his tone was dry, “The little women certainly did.”

Chloe discreetly nudged him, and they all sat down.

Gingerly, with gritted teeth, she sat. Hopefully, without attracting attention to the fact that anything was wrong. While easing into her seat, she closed her eyes. Her breath came out in a shaky exhale. Nobody seemed to notice.

A warm, strong hand on her back made her look up, Reece was staring at her with heat in his eyes. A shiver moved through her. He was clearly aroused by her reactions and the knowledge of the toys she was wearing inside her.

She was surprised that Danica had gotten Bob out from in front of the television. He wasn't really an elegant restaurant kind of guy. Bob was all about football and beer on Sunday while watching the game. He was a sweetheart, and he loved Danica, but Chloe had been surprised when it had been suggested that they have dinner here.

They talked about how Chloe and Reece had met.

It was idle chatter. As Chloe watched her friend, she knew there was something going on. Danica seemed distracted.

Finally, Chloe couldn't take it anymore. She narrowed her eyes at Danica. “Why did you bring us here to this restaurant? I know you wanted to meet Reece, but we could have done that anywhere with less ceremony than this. You have news; I can tell.”

Danica laughed, nodded and couldn't seem to keep the grin off her face for more than a second. She reached for her husband's hand and said, “We wanted to tell you in person because you're like a sister to me, and I love you. We both love you. I'm pregnant!”

Chloe jumped up, ran around the table and hugged her friend. She was squealing slightly and forced herself to calm. She kissed Danica's cheek.

Reece reached across the table and shook Bob's hand.

Danica and Chloe stood hugging for a minute. They were completely emotional and tears filled both their eyes.

“I'm going to be an Auntie! I am so excited for you both. I wondered how you got Bob out from in front of the television.”

Chloe laughed, sniffed and made her way back to her seat.

When she plopped down in her seat, she groaned, but covered it with a cough and turned to find Reece grinning at her. Right at that moment, he stared into her eyes and the buzzing started in her pussy. The man was evil. There was no doubt now.

She shook her head quickly with a small warning flash of her eyes. Luckily the egg was discreet and couldn't be heard, but Chloe's reaction was bound to give her away. There was no way she could act normally all through dinner. He ignored her and turned back to congratulate Bob again.

“Thank you for including me in your exciting announcement. When's the big day?”

“Oh dude, no worries. This is the first time Chloe's been with a guy more than two dates, ya know what I'm saying? We had to include you.”

Reece turned to her and lifted an eyebrow. “Really? Two dates.”

She rolled her eyes at his smirk and didn't bother to answer. In response to the eye roll, he increased the speed of the egg. A loud explosive gasp escaped her. Thankfully, Danica and Bob didn't hear it since they were discussing how inappropriate Bob's comment was.

It took all Chloe had not to moan out loud. She gripped the edge of the table tight, but couldn't stop her hips from rotating against the chair's seat. She let her disobedient hips grind once, the plug and egg shifted inside her; buzzing, vibrating, stimulating.

Her face became flushed as she stared at Reece and mouthed the word please at him. He inclined his head once and the intensity diminished enough for her to carry on a conversation with Danica.

The waitress came over. They ordered champagne to celebrate.

The talk centered around babies for the time it took the waitress to give their order to the kitchen and for the kitchen to prepare their meals.

The waitress came back with champagne and their meals. There was much animated conversation. Danica and Chloe discussed baby names until Chloe realized this might be making Reece uncomfortable.

She turned to him and leaned in close, “Are you okay? Clearly, I didn't know it would be all this baby talk at dinner.”

He slipped a hand in his pocket, turned up the remote to the highest setting so far. She bit her lip, bent over slightly at the waist and whispered at him, “God, Reece. Please, d-don't do that.”

“Chloe, this is the only thing saving this dinner for me. Your friends are wonderful, but baby talk at dinner is not really my thing. This on the other hand, is definitely my thing. The look in your eyes, the flush in your cheeks along with the panic as your arousal spins out of control. I can't wait until we get back tonight. I'm tempted for us to slip away into the bathroom right here, right now so I can fuck you.”

Chloe struggled to sit upright, Reece left the egg on its highest setting. Chloe had to grind her teeth while taking deep breaths so she wouldn't moan. Danica tilted her head, narrowed her eyes and stared at Chloe in the strangest way. Clearly the baby talk hadn't faded her sharp, hawk eyes.

Danica rose from her chair. “Chloe, go with me to the ladies room? Excuse us.”

She didn't wait for Chloe to answer. She walked past Reece, snagged Chloe's arm and dragged her to the bathroom.

As soon as the bathroom door swung shut, Danica questioned Chloe. “You know I know something is going on. I've known you too long for you to pull something over on me. You're not pregnant, are you?”

Chloe gasped. “Oh, god, no. Bite your tongue.”

At Danica's raised eyebrow, Chloe rolled her eyes. “You know what I mean. You're married, and at that place in your life. I'm not. I couldn't be further from it.”

Chloe wandered over to the sinks to wash her hands. The vibrating egg was still doing its thing. There was absolutely no way she was telling Danica that the reason she was so off tonight was because she was wearing a butt plug or a vibrating egg was shoved deep inside her sex. No matter how close a friendship, intimate knowledge like that can be a case of too much information.

Chloe ran cold water over her wrists. She was so hot, flushed and couldn't seem to control it. She was lingering on the edge of orgasm. The arousal was zinging through her nerve endings making it hard to have a conversation with anyone that made any kind of sense. Especially with her best friend. The only thing that had stopped Danica from knowing something was off from the start was that she was sharing her own fantastic news.

Chloe needed to turn Danica away from looking too closely. Keep her on the subject of babies. Her friend practically glowed with the need to share her happiness.

Chloe asked, “So, do I get to be the godmother too?”

“You're not distracting me from this conversation. What is going on? Is everything okay with you and Reece? He is gorgeous, by the way.”

Chloe closed her eyes. Did the egg just...? Oh my god. He was turning up the vibrations. She leaned against the sink with her head down. Her breathing became heavy, and her head began to spin. The egg was vibrating harder inside her. She squeezed her legs together which only made it worse. She bit the inside of her lip and prayed she wouldn't have an orgasm right here.

“Chloe?”

Danica grabbed paper towels, wet them and handed them to Chloe. “You don't look good. Are you getting sick?”

Chloe latched on to that excuse. “You know, I think I might be sick. Yeah.”

She dabbed the wet paper towels on her face and bent over the sink. A shaky moan escaped her as the egg was ramped up again inside her.

“Poor Clo, I'm so sorry. You don't sound good at all. Maybe you should go home and get some rest.”

“No. No, I'm okay. This is a celebration. Let's go back out to the table. I'm sure I'll be fine. Just an upset stomach. I hadn't eaten all day because I knew we'd be going out to dinner tonight.”

Chloe had no idea where the details were coming from, but the lies were spilling easily from her mouth.

“All right, honey. If you're sure.”

They walked back to the table. Both men stood as they returned. Reece leaned in to kiss her cheek as he said out loud to the group, “Everything okay?”

When he got close to her ear, he whispered so only Chloe could hear, “How's the egg feel, Chloe?”

“You're a cruel man, Reece Walker.”

His grin as he pulled away from her set her heart to racing. It was a playful grin. One she had come to dread and love at the same time.

“You have no idea yet.”

She gritted her teeth through the rest of dinner. Not only did he keep alternating the intensity of the egg, he kept touching her, whispering in her ear and making it extremely difficult to carry on a normal conversation with the rest of the table.

Finally after dessert, Bob said, “I think it's time I got Dani home. She needs her rest.”

“Aw, baby. I hope you're like this for the next six months. And especially when I'm as big as a house and demand almond, chocolate-chip ice cream at four in the morning.”

“As long as you share it with me when I get back from the store; it's all good.”

There were hugs, promises of phone calls, and congratulations again. The four of them walked out together. Reece and Bob had a small tug of war with the check, which Reece won.

“I insist that you let me pay as congratulations. And you promise not to invite me to any baby showers.”
