Chapter Thirteen

One of the new things that I had come to enjoy was going to a local park. I would take a book and a blanket, find a shady spot, and lose myself in some romantic story of everlasting love. I was pretty cynical about whether or not love really lasted forever, but it was a nice fantasy.

It didn’t surprise me that the park was so crowded that morning. It was a beautiful spring morning. The sun was shining, the flowers were blooming, and the birds were singing their lovely songs. I finally found a spot under a large oak tree and spread my blanket out. Fully engrossed in my book, I didn’t even notice the group that had begun playing football near me until their ball invaded my space, knocking my book from my hands.

“I’m so sorry,” the guy said as he jogged over to me. “Are you all right?”

“I’m fine,” I answered as I picked up the football and tossed it to him.

He snagged it out of the air with one large hand and knelt down beside me.

“Are you sure? We didn’t mean to hit you.”

“It’s okay,” I reassured him. “It only hit my book. The only damage is me losing my place.”

“C’mon Jake!” one of the other guys called.

“Your friends are waiting on you,” I smiled at him and motioned toward the other guys who were all staring in our direction with their hands on their hips.

“Yeah,” he said and got up. “See ya later.”

I watched him run back to his group and then buried myself back in my book. I secretly watched him off and on as they played. He appeared to be slightly older than the other guys that he was playing with, but I wasn’t sure exactly how old he was. I guessed that he was just under six feet tall. He was fit, but not incredibly muscular. His curly blonde hair bounced wildly as he ran. He was incredibly attractive and I caught myself wondering if he was attached.

I had been so devastated by the ending of my relationship with Neil that I had not even noticed any other man, until that moment. I felt an attraction to him, along with that familiar twinge of sexual excitement. I had to force myself back into my book to take my mind off of him.

“That must be a good book.”

I jumped at the sound of his voice and dropped my book, once again losing my place.

“It is, actually,” I said as casually as I could.

He picked it up, looked at the cover, and gave me a sly look.

“The artwork doesn’t leave a lot to the imagination,” he said. “I don’t think I even have to ask what it’s about.”

“It’s a fantasy love story,” I told him. “It’s just my escape from reality.”

“So you don’t have that steamy relationship with your husband?”

I wasn’t sure how to handle his question. Should I just blurt out that I don’t have a husband? Should I try to cover? Was he trying to find out about me? How much should I tell him?

“I’m divorced, and we didn’t have that kind of relationship,” I finally admitted. “I have had much more since then though.”

I almost immediately regretted that last statement and felt my face burn as it turned red. I looked down and picked at an imaginary piece of grass on the blanket until I felt his finger pulling my chin back up.

“I’m sorry,” he apologized. “I didn’t mean to embarrass you.”

“You didn’t,” I laughed. “I embarrassed myself.”

“I think I’d like to hear more about that then.”

“Well, buy me a drink and maybe I’ll tell you about it.”

I was shocked at myself for saying that and even more shocked at what happened next.

“I need a shower first,” Jake said.  “Why don’t you follow me to my place and I will get cleaned up. There’s a quiet little bar by my house. We can hit it once I’ve changed.”

Was I crazy for following him back to his place? Probably, but I was also human. I had a need that wasn’t going to be taken care of without the help of someone else. Judging by Jakes demeanor and apparent interest, I figured he was just the one to take care of it.

Chapter Fourteen

His house was pretty typical from what I had seen of other bachelors. It was sparsely furnished with only the necessities. There was a sofa, chair, and television in the living room, a small table in the kitchen, and no pictures or decorations anywhere.

“Make yourself comfortable,” he said as he walked through the bedroom door. “I won’t be long.”

I sat down briefly, but decided to explore after I heard the shower come on in the bathroom. I wanted to know a little more about this mysterious, but sexy stranger. I found nothing in the kitchen that would help me out so I walked into the bedroom. Still nothing, but I could see into the bathroom. The door was partially frosted and I could only see a silhouette of his lower body.

His back was to me as I slowly and quietly slipped out of my clothes. Leaving them in a heap on the bedroom floor, I walked into the bathroom and opened the shower door. Jake turned around quickly, but stopped when he saw me standing half in the door and half out.

“This is a surprise,” he said, looking me up and down.

“I hope it’s one you don’t mind.”

I closed the door behind me and took the bar of soap from his hand.

“I hope you don’t mind. I thought you might need a little help scrubbing your back.”

I immediately realized how cheesy that sounded, but Jake didn’t seem to mind. He turned his back to me and I slowly rubbed the bar of soap across his shoulders. Without his clothes off, it was obvious that he was a little more muscular than I had originally thought. He leaned against the shower wall and his shoulders rippled under his weight. I moved lower with the soap, covering his entire back. The water was slowly making tiny paths through the lather. I dropped the soap and my hands traveled up and down his back. The masculine scent of his soap filled the shower and I took in a deep breath to enjoy it.

My hands were slick with the soap as I slid them around his slim waist and down the front of his thighs. His muscles tensed up and I teased, lightly dragging my nails up his thighs. He turned around to face me and I saw his thick cock begging for attention.

Dropping to my knees on the tile floor, I wrapped my small hand around his shaft and stroked it slowly. The warm water was beating down on me and he gently pushed my wet hair back out of my face. He was smiling down at me and I knew what he wanted.

I let my tongue explore each of the bulging veins on the underside of his cock from its base to its large head. I wanted it and had no self-control. I eased the head into my mouth and sucked on it, continuing to stroke up and down the shaft. He filled my mouth with his girth. His grip was firm on my head as his hips moved back and forth, pushing his cock farther into my mouth with each thrust. I held onto his hips and he moved faster. He throbbed inside my mouth and I could taste the salty drops that were beginning to leak from his rod. His flavor excited me more and I sucked harder and faster. Suddenly, he thrust hard into my mouth and I felt his warm cream slide down my throat. I pulled his cock out of my mouth and stroked it with my hand, licking every drop that came from it. I couldn’t get enough of him.

His strong hands wrapped around my arms and pulled me to my feet. His lips pressed into mine and his tongue invaded my mouth. I hungrily returned his kiss, wrapping my arms around his neck. He picked me up and I circled his waist with my legs. His cock was still rock hard and he slid it into me. My legs tightened around him as his hips pushed his shaft deeper inside of me.

“Let’s take this to the bed,” I whispered in his ear.

Without letting me go, he turned off the shower and stepped out. Once we were in the bedroom, he eased me to my feet and spun me around. He gently pushed me over and I caught myself on the edge of the bed. Without warning, he thrust his cock back into me from behind. His fingers dug into the flesh of my ass as he pounded in and out my pussy.

I slid my hand between my legs and massaged my clit with one finger as he fucked me. The harder he thrust, the harder I rubbed my clit. My legs were shaking and I was pushing back into him. I felt as if I couldn’t get enough of him inside of me.

“Oh God!” I moaned as my knees started to buckle.

He held me up and didn’t slow his pace. I could feel the drops of his sweat falling onto my back and hear the slapping sound of our flesh hitting. My body tensed and the muscles of my pussy grabbed his cock as the wave of pleasure hit me like a lightning bolt. At that same moment, I felt him explode inside of me. My hands were clenched so tightly around the blanket that they began to hurt. We both were motionless for what seemed like forever.

I felt his warm lips between my shoulder blades just before he pulled his wilting cock out of me. I let out a long sigh and lay down on the bed. Jake followed and wrapped his arms around my exhausted body. He kissed my bare shoulders and caressed my tingling skin.

“I can honestly say that is a first for me,” he said with a hint of amusement.

“What was a first?” I feigned innocence.

“To have a beautiful woman that I just met invade my shower.”

“Invade? You mean you didn’t plan on that?” I teased, turning over to look at him.

“Not exactly like that,” he flushed slightly, “but I’m not complaining.”

“It’s not something that I make a habit of either,” I confessed. “I just…”

“It doesn’t matter,” he said pressing a finger to my lips. “As long as neither of us have any regrets, it’s all good.”

He was right. It was all good. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the warmth of his arms.

Chapter Fifteen

“You must have had a good weekend,” Samantha said when she passed me in the hall.

“Why do you say that?” I asked.

“You’re smiling. We haven’t seen a smile like that out of you in a while.”

“I did,” I said, glancing down at my left hand.

“Holy shit!” she exclaimed, almost snatching my arm out of its socket. “I didn’t even know you were seeing anyone! You’ve got to tell me about this.”

“There isn’t a lot to tell,” I bashfully told her. “We met a while back and have been seeing each other regularly. He surprised me with this yesterday.”

“Who is he?” she probed.

“His name is Jake. He’s a realtor here in town and he is amazing.”

“Where did y’all meet?

“I was at the park reading one day and he was there playing football with some of his friends. He missed a pass, it ended up in my lap, and we ended up on a date.”

“That’s awesome!” she said hugging me tightly. “I am so happy for you. When’s the big day?”

“We haven’t set it yet. I haven’t even met his family.”

“Girl, you have to set that date. It takes a long time to plan an amazing wedding. I want ot help, if you don’t mind.”

“We don’t haven’t even decided if we’re going to have a big wedding or just go to the judge and do it quietly,” I told her.

“Uh…no. There will be no quiet ceremony. This is going to be a wedding for you to remember. You deserve it. Besides, we all want to be there. Now when do we get to meet this fabulous man?”

“I’ll talk to him and see if we can meet for drinks one afternoon after work. I’m not sure if he’s ready for all us together in one place though.”

“Well he might as well get ready if he plans on marrying you. I hope he doesn’t plan on taking you away from us here once the knot is tied.”

“He knows I love my job. I’m not going anywhere, except to my office to get to work. I have a conference call in about five minutes. I’ll talk with you later.”

It didn’t take long for Samantha to circulate the news of my engagement around the office. I could barely get any work done with everyone interrupting me to ask about the ring and Jake. At one point, I just had to close my office door to be able to concentrate. I was deeply engrossed in a spreadsheet when my private line rang.

“This is Rebecca,” I said into the receiver.

My stomach tied in knots instantly when I heard the familiar voice.

“I hear congratulations are in order.”

I struggled to formulate coherent words.

“Wow. News really does travel fast. How are you, Neil?”

“I’m doing very well. I wanted to call and tell you how happy I am for you.”

“Did Samantha call you and tell you?” I asked, feeling torn between anger and sadness.

“No. I was on a call with her about a client and I asked how you were doing. She really didn’t want to tell me, but I could sense that there was something going on. I made her tell me. I really am happy for you.”

“Thank you,” I managed. “I wanted you to know, but I wasn’t sure how to tell you.”

“It’s okay,” he said. “I can understand that. Just do me one favor.”

“What’s that?”

“You tell this guy, whoever he is, that if he doesn’t treat you right, I will hunt him down. You deserve to be happy. I hope he can give you that.”

“I am happy. Thank you for calling.”

I wanted nothing more than to get off the phone at that moment, but he continued.

“I do have one favor to ask. When you get married, I would love to be the one to give you away.”

“What?” I asked in complete surprise.

“If you have a big wedding, I want to be the one to give you away.”

I thought about it for a moment. If it weren’t for Neil, I might not have ever met Jake. If Neil hadn’t made me see what I was missing in life, if he hadn’t made me realize that I had so much to offer someone, I might never have made that connection with Jake.

“I can do that,” I told him. “I’ll let you know when we finalize the plans.”

I hung up the phone and leaned back in my chair with a smile. I had finally found true happiness and contentment. I had found me.
