I put in a special request and paid the caterer extra to make a giant heart in the sand using a large stick and write the words ‘Will you marry me Roxy?’ It is hidden down a few metres out of sight, so when I take her for a romantic walk she will see it.

“So I gather Pete and Emma aren’t coming?” she says laughing, catching onto my plan.

“I just wanted you all to myself Rox,” I answer her warmly as she bites into her first prawn.

“Mmm, these are delicious,” she moans in response to the flavour.

The night is running smoothly; the main of pepper steak is cooked to perfection, so when the dessert comes out, I can’t help but notice Roxy checking it out. Is she looking for a ring?

I can’t help but smirk, thinking to myself that she won’t find it in there.

“Tonight has been perfect Kade. I love you so much and appreciate you making the effort like this, especially after all the Stacey crap the last few months,” she confesses adoringly as we gaze into each other’s eyes and hold hands across the table.

“Come for a walk with me, let’s watch the sunset together Rox.” I take her hand and we walk down the sand.

“Roxy, these last twelve months with you has been nothing short of amazing. You are the one and only for me. I love you now and forever,” I confess to her as we walk side by side. I look at her to see a tear run down her cheek.

I can see the heart carved into the sand in the distance so I pause taking both of her hands into mine and look deep into her amazing sky blue eyes, which are now tearing up. I pull her a little further over so that she can now see the heart and the words ‘Will You Marry Me Roxy?’ written in the sand.

“Oh God, baby!” she cries now realising that it is really happening.

I willingly get down on one knee, and with all of the love in my heart, I confess to her the words written on my heart. “My Angel Roxy, there is nothing more I want in the whole wide world than to make you my wife. Roxy Lilly Thorne, will you do me the honour of marrying me?” I ask as I remove the black box from my pocket showing her the sparkling diamond ring.

Right on cue, Jeremy comes down from the grassy hill with his guitar in hand and starts serenading us both singing Jason Derulo’s “Marry Me.”

I’ll say, “Will you marry me?”

I swear that I will mean it

I’ll say, “Will you marry me?”

How many girls in the world can make me feel like this?

Baby I don’t ever plan to find out

The more I look, the more I find the reasons why

You’re the love of my life

Roxy bursts into a river of tears. “Yes, yes, yes, I will marry you!” she screams through her tears smiling and looking delighted. She leaps into my arms as I engulf her into a tight loving embrace and kiss her deeply, feeling consumed with happiness.

I place the shining diamond ring onto her finger; somehow the size is perfect as if it was meant for her long fingers all along.

“This ring is sensational, absolutely stunning Kade.” She keeps staring at her now sparkling engagement ring.
The one that cost me a pretty penny.

“Woo-hoo!” I scream to the world. “She said yes!” I announce to no one in particular, but I needed to shout it to the rooftops. We look at Jeremy and he is smiling widely over at us.

“Oh Kade, you are the most amazing, wonderful, and sensational guy I have ever met and making you my husband is a dream come true!” she declares to me grinning so widely.

“Argh, we are getting married. I am so excited!” she screams and jumps up and down in the sand with elation.

“Come and have some champagne with me, Rox,” I invite her as I grab her hand and take her back to the table.
I have another little surprise.
I made a few enquiries and had a fortune cookie made especially for Roxy.

Her message reads:

You and Kade will live Happily Ever After

Roxy giggles loudly at the special message.

“You have well and truly outdone yourself, Mr. Thomas.” She shakes her head in amazement and smiles in a grand manner.

“You, without a doubt, are the love of my life, Roxy, and I will always love you,” I declare before we kiss passionately
. Now all I can think about is getting her clothes off and making sweet love to my fiancée.

Chapter 17

The Date is Set...

Roxy

––––––––

W
hat’s that saying? Money can’t buy happiness?
Bullshit...
Kade and I have excitedly chosen our dream home. It is a very modern contemporary brick house, with open plan living areas, Caesar stone bench tops and a stylish kitchen with four spacious bedrooms. I love the crisp white walls, timber floors, and it has gorgeous pool and spa and of course Kade’s favourite part is that it is only two streets from the beach. We will be the brand new owners in six weeks; it’s ecstatic news.

“My money is your money, baby.” His words play over in my mind.

“Having money means nothing if I can’t share it with you. I don’t care about being a millionaire, having a fancy house or car, I care about being with you,” he sweetly tells me as I squeeze his hand and look into his beautiful brown eyes.

“And now, of course, I can have a fancy house with my dream girl. Life doesn’t get any better than this.”

“You are everything to me, Mr. Thomas, and then some more,” I confess with a heart full of love for him.

“Marry me, Roxy,” Kade says to me, and I can’t help but laugh.

“Well dear, I’m already marrying you, remember the proposal and all?” I add sarcastically.

“How could I forget my colossal proposal effort? Pretty impressive, hey?” he teases.

“Well, anyway I can’t marry you, I am already taken, saving myself for this super special surfer guy,” I joke and poke out my tongue.

“Oh, is that so? I bet I could show him a thing or two,” he says sarcastically.

“Oh yeah? What kind of things could you teach him?” I question looking for a flirtatious response and enjoying teasing him.

“Well, what about this?” he replies and pulls me in against his body and squeezes my arse hard. His lips are on mine within record time. He kisses me firmly as his tongue dances with mine. When he pulls back, I’m breathless.

“Maybe you are right. I might marry you, after all,” I joke.

“Marry me next weekend, Roxy!” he states, and I am left gobsmacked and surprised.

“Ha ha, very funny,” is my answer.
Is he crazy
?

“I am dead serious. I want to marry you as soon as possible. All we need is someone to marry us, our family, friends, and you in a sexy white dress. Why do we need to wait?” He’s smiling while I’m still trying to wrap my head around what the hell he just said.

“You want to get married right away, like as soon as possible?” I question him to make sure my ears aren’t playing tricks on me.

“Yep, you heard me right, baby. I will find a minister if you can sort out the rest.” I am feeling shocked, yet excited about the possibility of being Mrs. Thomas in just a few weeks. Oh my God!

I
still can’t believe that we are getting married in one freaking week!

Looks like the celebrant who married Pete and Emma had a cancellation, and we are booked in for Saturday.
Seven days from today.

Kade is a spur of the moment kind of guy and telling me that we were getting married on the beach as soon as there was someone available to marry us was ludicrous!
But also it is kind of romantic and awesome, too.

Becoming Mrs. Thomas and marrying my soul mate, the man of my dreams and love of my life as soon as humanly possible is nothing short of amazing!

“Why wait” were his words. Exactly, why wait? I feel like Bella in
Breaking Dawn
, I’ll be nervous until I see Kade’s face and I may just sprint down the aisle to make it official.

I am now freaking out about what the hell I will be wearing to my own wedding. Some brides have their dresses six months or more before their special day.

I eagerly jump on my laptop and type in ‘wedding dresses.’ Internet shopping is easier, and plus, I don’t want the focus on me instead of Jemma and trying on dresses when it should be her first.

I look at around fifty styles and colours and finally I find the perfect dress, and it’s available in the city store Glamour
.
So, during my lunch break, I quickly duck into Glamour to see it in the flesh. I’m excited to see what it looks like on me as it’s really elegant, yet simple and perfect for our beach wedding.

The stunning white dress is a mermaid silhouette with a plunging neckline, perfect for a small amount of cleavage and bare skin. The back of the dress is open as a beautiful focal point and the length barely brushes the floor with heels on. The silk bodice has rhinestones and crystals, and the best part is that it fits like a glove.

I whack the charge on my visa card and quickly browse for shoes and jewellery while I am here. White diamanté thongs are my choice of footwear, especially on the sand, and I choose some petite diamond drop earrings.

Did I really just buy my wedding dress, shoes, and jewellery all on my lunch hour? Well damn, Jemma will be proud of me.

The bright colour I carefully chose for Jemma’s maid of honour dress is aqua blue. The stunning dress is just above her knees in length, with a single shoulder strap. There are little diamantes on the strap and front bodice. It’s very elegant and yet beachy for the sea front setting.

I have booked a gorgeous white gazebo for the ceremony and hired tables and chairs with silk covers, ordered the pretty flowers, a DJ to run the music, and caterers to organise the food and drinks. Jemma and I have been creative and made cute little photo frames decorated with shells, attached with a thank-you note for each guest.

Invitations have also been posted and those nearby were hand delivered explaining our spur of the moment decision. They are lovely and white in colour, frosted with aqua coloured ribbon.

Kade and Roxy request the pleasure of your company at their Beach Wedding.

“Deep breaths, Roxy. You are all organised. Don’t stress, the RSVPs are all coming to me and we have everything booked. You have your dress, and the rest is history,” Jemma comforts me with her words as I have a little meltdown.

“One fucking week, Jem! I mean I am so over the moon and I can’t wait, but I don’t want it to look tacky and just thrown together either,” I ramble during my full-blown freak out.

“You are having Thursday and Friday off right?” I nod my head. That thought makes me feel better; at least I have two work-free days to focus on my wedding day.

“Yes, thank God, I need them badly. What time on Thursday do we have our treatments booked in again, Jem?” I query her for the fifth time. I think she said it starts at ten am, but my brain is fried and I can’t remember.

“Ten am for a facial, pedicure, with a full body massage, girlfriend. If that doesn’t loosen you up, I don’t know what will.”

“Oh, wait, yes I do. All the sex and orgasms you will be having on your honeymoon will definitely loosen you up and in more ways than one! Woohoo, I am so jealous, I have to wait eight more months.”
God, I love my best friend.

“You know how bad I feel, right? Are you sure you are okay with me getting married first? You know stepping on your toes is the last thing I want to do, right?” Part of me feels silly even saying it, but I need to put it out there just in case.

“Oh my God, do not even say it hoe bag! You are my best friend and you and Kade deserve this. The sooner, the better so you can get to make me a little niece or nephew on that honeymoon of yours,” she announces lovingly, just the way a best friend should.

“Thanks, sweetheart. I love you like a fat kid loves cake.” She bursts into a fit of laughter. It is usually Jemma’s line, but I thought I would steal it for once.
It really does explain how much I love her.
