Neither he nor Jake had been surprised to find that after that round of enthusiastic lovemaking she’d been so worn out that her legs had barely held her. Jake had carried her downstairs and together they’d tucked her into bed and snuggled up to give her the extra warmth of their bodies. She had dozed off almost immediately.

Unlike Sadie, however, the sex had energized the two men and brought on a fresh and ravenous hunger. Once they were certain that she was sound asleep and wouldn’t notice their departure, Jake had gone to the kitchen to whip them up a couple of sandwiches—allowing Evan a few solitary moments to savor and admire.

He’d never done this with either of his wives, he realized. Never lain in bed, admiring and enjoying the simple pleasure of watching the soft rise and fall of a chest, or the way long, lush lashes brushed a rosy cheek. He’d never felt the need and frankly used to think such things were fantasy.

He had to confess that he had tiptoed into new territory with Jake. There had been moments when he’d enjoyed being snuggled up against Jake’s hard chest, savoring the steady rise and fall of his breathing and the thud of his heartbeat against Evan’s back. The simple pleasure of that closeness had been new and strange to Evan. And it had also been frightening because he told himself it couldn’t last. That Jake was a passing fling—had to be a passing fling. So he hadn’t allowed himself to truly wallow in the intimacy Jake had offered.

And now he saw how foolish he had been. He had turned his back on something special and precious, and why? Because he was afraid of
appearances
? Because he was afraid that it might affect his professional image? What the hell had he been working for all these years anyway, if not for the kind of respect and autonomy that came with running a successful company. His sexual orientation had no bearing on his business acumen. He knew that. And there was no reason the rest of the world shouldn’t know it.

And then he had almost thrown away the same gift a second time—for basically the same reasons, but with a different twist. He was afraid of losing the love of his daughter. But now he understood that a love that you had to worry about losing wasn’t a love worth keeping.

At last he was ready to embrace his happiness. He could finally see what a fool he’d been, what he’d been missing. And how much he had to look forward to.

Looking forward to a future with one person you loved was enough to take a man’s breath away. But a future with
two
people who loved you? Wow. It was too much to hope for. Wasn’t it?

Damn it he deserved this. He’d deserved it for a very long time.

Giving in to impulse, he brushed a whisper of a kiss across Sadie’s cheek and eased out of bed, gently pulling up the duvet to cover her breasts and shoulders.
Pity
, he thought. It was a shame to cover up such perfection. And it was perfection. He and Jake still had some work to do to convince her of that.

Figuring that Jake must be wondering about him, Evan donned his robe and finally ventured out of the bedroom, closing the door ever so gently behind him.

He was startled to feel a set of strong hands latch on to his hips and spin him around.

“Hey!” he managed to keep his voice to a strangled whisper. “What the hell—”

Jake’s mouth cut off his words and Evan melted beneath the heat of that kiss—beneath the heat of Jake’s hands that had slid around his waist, and the insistent promise of Jake’s erection nestled against his groin.

Jake was wearing a pair of loose fleece track pants, but that did little to hide the level of his arousal.

When Jake abruptly tore himself away, Evan had to struggle for breath. “What the fuck was that for?”

Jake merely smiled and shook his head.
You know
, the look said. And it took only a moment for it to sink in.

“I really didn’t know if you’d ever get here,” Jake tossed over his shoulder as he strode back to the kitchen.

“Here?”

“You know. To this point. To the point where you accept who and what you are.” Rounding the island, he picked up a knife and drove its tip deep into the cutting board—a fitting exclamation point to his words. “To the point where you could accept your own happiness.”

Evan slid his ass onto one of the bar stools and studied his lover. “I didn’t know if I’d get here either, Jake. For a long time…I really didn’t think I could.”

“Neither did I.” Jake used the knife to slice the triple-decker toasted turkey, tomato and prosciutto sandwich he’d just created into a pair of neat triangles. He handed one to Evan. “But I’m glad we were both wrong.”

As they munched, Evan heard the muted hum of a cell phone vibrating somewhere in the condo. He looked around and saw the insistent blink of Jake’s cell phone ringing quietly on the coffee table. He gave Jake an inquiring look, but Jake shook his head. “Whoever it is, I’m not interested. For tonight there are only three people on Planet Jake.”

“Planet Jake?” asked Evan with a raised eyebrow. “Sounds a little egocentric to me.”

Jake grinned but didn’t have a chance to retort because Sadie chose that moment to peek out the bedroom door. Her eyes were heavy with sleep, her lips swollen from kisses and her skin glowed. She yawned, watching the other two as they chewed—and watched her.

“Seems to me you guys are eating the wrong thing.”

The men looked at each other—and smiled.

Jake lay back, his head resting in the cradle formed between Sadie’s small but very pert breasts. He closed his eyes and languished in the teasing actions of Evan’s mouth and tongue. It was, at times, difficult to focus on his own cock, what with the distraction of Sadie’s body wedged so snugly beneath him, and her hands stroking his arms. Her touch was so gentle, it reminded him of the nebulous touch of a spider’s web. Delicate yet strong and impossible to ignore.

Both he and Evan had been surprised to realize that her little quip about “eating the wrong thing” hadn’t been quite as obvious as they’d initially assumed. She hadn’t been talking about herself—but had rather been anxious to see the two of them nibble and suck on each other.

“Enjoying the show?” he asked as Evan’s actions became somewhat more exuberant.

“Oh yes. I surely am.” And with that she tweaked his nipples—hard enough to elicit a little yelp of surprise.

She giggled but resumed her previous stroking of his chest and arms.

“How are you doing there, Evan?” she asked softly. “Would you like some help?”

Evan stopped. His lips still latched firmly to Jake’s cock, a grin managed to spread across his face. The bob of his eyebrows was answer enough.

“Uh oh,” said Jake as Sadie scrambled out from beneath him. “I don’t know about this.”

“What’s to know?” asked Sadie. “Just relax and enjoy.”

That was all the prelude he was afforded before she and Evan descended upon his body. They took turns with his cock. One mouth soft and tender, the other more firm and insistent. Their hands meanwhile were everywhere, caressing his chest, abdomen and, more torturously, his balls. When Sadie’s fingers ventured down farther, edging ever closer to his anus, Jake caught his breath but edged his hips upward.

Encouraged, Sadie massaged the sensitive tissue around his anus but didn’t penetrate him. At least not at first. He was too distracted to realize what was going on, but apparently she’d had a little help from Evan because the next thing he knew, a well lubricated vibrator was being inserted gently but steadily into his ass.

“Oh,
fuck
!”

Evan laughed. “You so had this coming.”

“That’s mean,” lamented Sadie, leaving the butt plug to do its job as she crawled up his body until her face was but a few inches away from his.

“Wh-what are you doing?” he managed to croak out.

“Watching you come. I’d say I’ve earned it.”

With Evan continuing his oral attentions and the vibrator adding its evil brand of stimulation, it didn’t take long for Sadie’s wish to be fulfilled. Unfortunately, she wasn’t prepared for the intensity of his response to this excessive brand of lovemaking. His cry of pleasure was nothing compared to the way his body bucked and heaved—and finally sent her flying off the bed.

She landed in a giggling heap on the rug beside the bed.

“Well, you were right about one thing,” sighed Jake when the spasms had passed and the vibrator had, mercifully, been removed.

Sadie poked her head up above the edge of the bed. He could see the grin in her eyes.

“What’s that?”

“You certainly had it coming.”

Sadie giggled as Jake and Evan’s eyes met. “I know something else she has coming,” offered Evan, his hand groping in the nightstand.

He pulled out his prize and abruptly Sadie’s giggles stopped. “Oh. No. I don’t think—”

But she was laughing as they hauled her onto the bed, pinned her to the mattress and spread her thighs.

Evan flicked a switch and the Magic Massage Wand whirred to life.

Her eyes went wide. “But I’m sore.”

Even Jake knew the protest was halfhearted. She had mentioned a curiosity about trying out a variety of vibrators, and this seemed as good an opportunity as any.

“Don’t worry,” soothed Evan. “This doesn’t penetrate. It’s very…non-invasive.” He touched it to her pussy very gently. “How’s that?”

“Umm…” Her legs relaxed and fell apart a little farther.

“That’s what I thought.”

Sadie lost herself in the intense actions of the device. Jake was now holding her, just as she had been holding him earlier, and she was grateful for the support against her back. But she was ill-prepared for the intensity of her response to this particular form of stimulation. She’d used a vibrating toy once or twice in her life, but never felt anything quite like this. Her juices flowed freely. She could feel them soaking the sheets beneath her.

An orgasm would loom—and then infuriatingly, Evan would ease up on the pressure, and it would evaporate like a puff of smoke. It was driving her insane.

And then something was touching her ass.

She sucked in her breath, surprised by her own reaction. Curious, she lifted her hips slightly.

“You like that?” asked Evan.

“Yeah,” she breathed. “I-I think I do.”

“Okay then.”

She was momentarily confused when the massager left her—and so did Jake. He slipped out from beneath her, replacing the support of his body with a couple of pillows. Then a pillow was stuffed beneath her hips.

“Okay now,” said Jake. “Just relax. This may feel a little strange at first, but it’ll be worth it.”

Her trust was complete. “Okay.”

The massager was returned to her pussy, set on low so as to be more of a tease than anything else. Then Jake’s lubricated finger began to massage her anus. She tensed a little at first, but the stimulation of the vibrator together with her increasing enjoyment of the anal attention helped her relax. And then his finger was inside her. She sucked in her breath in a surprising burst of pleasure.

It wasn’t just his finger. There was something else.

“Wh-what is that?”

“Anal beads. Don’t worry. Just let us take you away.”

When the beads were inserted fully, the wand was switched on to a higher setting and her body was completely consumed with it.

The pressure of the beads inside her created an added dynamic that she’d never dreamed of before, let alone experienced. Part of her wanted to crawl away. It was too much. She wasn’t sure what to do with it all.

But instead she wadded the sheets up in her fists and held on for dear life.

“Oh God…oh please.” The orgasm teased her with its promise.

Evan increased the pressure, turned the switch up a notch, and suddenly the orgasm exploded within her. She could barely breathe for the intensity of it—and then Jake began to withdraw the beads from her body.

The cry she uttered was almost as unearthly as the pleasure that was rocketing through her.

Sweat bathed her body as the contractions continued to pulse through her body long past what was humanly possible.

At last it was over and Evan and Jake lay on either side of her, grinning down at her as she continued to pant in search of much-needed oxygen.

“You two are going to pay for that.” But the yawn that escaped her betrayed her. She wanted nothing more than to close her eyes and sleep for a week. “Eventually.”

“We certainly hope so.”

And at last they all fell into blissful oblivion.

Chapter Fifteen

“I’m sorry,” said Rachel for what felt like the fiftieth time.

“Will you stop apologizing? I don’t care about the retreat. I just want to be with you.” Noah lifted his hand off the gear shift and settled it over Rachel’s, which was fidgeting in her lap. He squeezed and the fidgets passed. Noah was being the perfect gentleman and saying all the right things, but she couldn’t rid herself of the pang of guilt that came with her request that he take her home.

She had sat resolutely through the Sunday morning worship service, but her heart hadn’t been in it. She had been unable to appreciate the glorious venue that had been their house of worship. The blue sky dotted with white stretched above them—a cathedral ceiling painted by God’s own hand. The canopy of willow boughs arched overhead as they all stretched out on the hillside, digging their toes into the lush green carpet and admiring the wildflowers that adorned the makeshift altar. Beyond the altar a stream bubbled and tripped over rocks, the music of its journey adding a poignant counterpoint to the songs and poems that the group had sung and recited together.
