There he went again, making her insides twist in a way that was both uncomfortable and strangely sexual. She didn’t understand it for the life of her, but she knew for certain that her panties dampened more around him than any man she’d ever dated. Hell, all she’d ever dated was
boys
—until now.

“And if I ever catch you with a cigarette between those pretty lips of yours again, I’ll…”

“You’ll what?” she asked, somehow breathless with anticipation at his answer.

“I’d think you’d know by now,” he growled.

Damn, even threatening her he was sexy.

“But, if you like, I could give you a reminder.”

“No…” Her breath caught on the word. “No, thank you.”

“That’s what I thought. But just remember—only good girls get kisses.” His head bowed as he began to kiss her collarbone.

Talk about damp panties—although they’d passed being merely damp approximately two seconds ago, the moment his lips had touched her skin again.

“Why are you such a procrastinator?” he asked when he came back up for air.

Oh, God, how could he even ask her a question like that after what he’d just done? Her brain was barely functioning enough to keep her standing upright! “Um…”

“I want you to get up and go to the grocery store and do your shopping first thing tomorrow. Understand?”

“Yes, Sir.” Then, almost as though her inner feminist was rearing its ugly head, she rethought it. “Why do you feel like you have the right to tell me what to do?”

“Someone has to. Your father is clearly happy to be served wilted lettuce.”

She didn’t laugh at his quip. “I’m serious. I’m not a child, Sam. I thought we just covered that.”

“We did. And, for the record, I don’t think you’re one, either.”

“You have a funny way of showing it.” She tried to pull away from him, but he kept her in his grasp. And, to be fair, she didn’t try very hard.

“I think you’re a very capable young woman,
when
you want to be. I think you need a little help and encouragement to be your best.”

“Oh, and naturally
you
are the best man for the job?” She couldn’t help it—now she really was starting to get riled up.

“Well, unless you’d rather someone else.”

That one caught her off guard. She didn’t have an answer for it, to be honest.

“I’m not some chauvinist pig, sweetheart. I just believe in a man helping his woman to be her best.”

His woman? Did he just call her his
woman
? Wait, was this a tactic to get her to stop being mad? Damn it, if it was, it was working!

“Why don’t you think about it and we can talk about it later?”

“Fine,” she huffed. Though, frankly, even she wasn’t convinced she was as pissed as she was trying to sound. “What do you want to talk about then?”

“Actually, I don’t really want to talk at all. I had something else in mind. You see, I had a long time to think about exactly what I’d want to do, when I found the girl that was just right for this place.” Before she could ask what that was, he shocked her by scooping her up in his arms and carrying her to one of the trees she’d noticed.

Then, with slow, careful tugs, he began to pull her skirt down, maintaining eye contact so that she could have signaled for him to stop with the slightest movement of her head at any time. Only she didn’t want him to stop. She didn’t want to say no to him—or to whatever was about to come next. And from the wild beating of her heart, she had a feeling it was about to be something good.

He pulled both her skirt and panties down, revealing her hot, wet pussy. Just knowing that he was looking at it, inhaling the feminine scent of her lust, made her squirm. But he didn’t let her get away. Instead, with a wicked grin, he blew on her pussy lips, making her breath hitch as a shiver ran through her.

“I was thinking since you enjoyed my kiss so much, maybe you’d like another?”

She nodded mutely, hardly daring to think that he was about to do what she thought he was. She’d had a few boyfriends, mostly in college. And while each and every one of them had been big fans of being on the receiving end of oral sex, none of them had been the least bit interested in reciprocating. She’d told herself that it didn’t matter—it couldn’t be that great anyway, right?

Oh, but she’d been wrong. She was thankful for her blissful ignorance up to this point, because from the very first moment that Sam’s tongue slid inside her, he took her breath away. And if she’d had any inkling that it could be
this
good, this incredibly sweet, she would have driven herself crazy wanting something she couldn’t have.

And then again, maybe it was just Sam. Maybe he had a lot of experience with driving women crazy. The thought would have made her insanely jealous if she hadn’t been too busy writhing under the careful ministrations of his tongue. With every delicate flick, she came a little bit more undone. Soon, as he delved deeper and his tongue lovingly caressed her, she began to moan.

“Sam, stop.”

“Why?” he demanded as he came up for air.

“Because I… I can’t…”

“You can’t?”

“I…” She squirmed a bit more, avoiding his eyes. She had no idea how to say what she meant.

“You’ve got five seconds to explain yourself before I go back to what I was doing.”

“Sam…”

“One. Two. Three—”

“If you don’t stop, I’m going to come!” She was horrified as the words flew out of her mouth. Then, out of the corner of her eye, she saw him sit back and begin to laugh. “Hey! It’s not funny.”

“It’s a little funny. Of course you’ll come, baby. That’s the point.”

Why, oh,
why
did hearing him call her names like ‘baby’ make her wetter? She’d been called that before. But somehow, when he said it, it sounded sweet and protective and made her insides grow all warm and tingly.

“But…”

“But what? Don’t tell me you don’t
like
to come?”

She huffed and reached for her bunched-up clothing. Before she could pull them up, however, his hand closed over hers.

“I’m sorry, Georgia.”

The change in his tone, one minute laughing, the next apologetic, made her look up.

“If we’re moving too fast for you, that’s okay. I’m sorry, I didn’t even stop to think that maybe… I just wanted to make you feel good.”

She couldn’t help but blush at that. When was the last time someone had gone out of their way to think about how they could make her feel good? “It’s… it’s not that, just… no one has ever… before.”

“Gone down on you?” he supplied.

Blushing hotter, she nodded.

“Well, it’s their loss, because you taste as sweet as sugar.”

She couldn’t help but giggle. “That’s a line if I ever heard one.”

“It might be a line, but it’s one I’ve never had cause to use before. My gran raised me to tell the truth.”

Georgia felt flushed and flattered and horny all at once. God, she felt like a teenager again, and she had to admit, she liked it. “Okay.”

“You want me to keep going?”

“If you want to.”

“Oh, baby-girl, you better believe that I want to. I’m gonna make you come so hard, you’ll scream. Don’t worry,” he winked. “You’ll only scare a few rabbits.”

Then, lowering his head, Sam went back to the task with an attentive ferocity that led to not one, but two earth-shattering orgasms. And while she didn’t quite scream, when her pussy spasmed she moaned loud enough that she could practically see the little bunnies scampering for cover. Sam lay down beside her, pulling her close and letting her curl into him as she enjoyed the loose, free feeling of having had her first powerful orgasm in nearly a year.

“So? What’d you think?”

Georgia was pretty sure from the smile she heard in his voice that he already knew. “It was nice.”

“Nice? Just nice?” he asked, mock-wounded.

She turned to look at him. “I think you can do better.”

“Oh, so now you’re the expert?” He reached over and began to tickle her bare thighs as she twisted away from him, giggling.

When she couldn’t take anymore, he stopped and just held her tightly against him. And as she stared out at the lush, green scenery, her heart as full and happy as she could ever remember it being, she thought that it probably was the most beautiful place in the world.

“Hi, there, cowboy,” Georgia sang as she walked into the field the next day.

Sam had been stacking hay bales bigger than she was but he looked up at the sound of her voice, grinning when he spotted her. “What are you doing out here?”

“Thought you’d enjoy a break. And maybe a bite to eat?” she suggested, holding up the picnic basket she’d brought along with her.

“I don’t know. Did you buy that food, or did you swipe it from my gran’s kitchen?”

“She won’t miss a few apples,” Georgia teased.

“I ‘spect you’re right about that. Especially when she knows there’s a pretty girl bringing them to me.”

“Oh, so you think I’m pretty.” She struck a pose with her hand on her hip and batted her eyelashes demurely.

“I think you’re the most beautiful girl in the south, but be careful with all that flirting, missy. I might mistake my desire for hunger and gobble you up.”

“Well, we can’t have that. Not unless you want to kiss the picnic basket.”

“Just feed me, woman. We can see about kissing later.”

“Yes, Sir,” she giggled as she lay down the blue checkered blanket she’d brought with her. Then she began to unload the picnic basket.

“Now, see, that’s what I like to hear,” he said as he came over to join her. “What’s for lunch?”

“I didn’t know what kind of sandwiches you liked, so I just made everything.”

“Everything?”

“Well, everything I could think of. So, we have PB&J, grilled cheese, tuna fish, and chicken salad.”

“Wow, I’m impressed.”

“Don’t be too impressed,” Georgia cautioned. “I’ve never made chicken salad before. I got a recipe off the internet.”

“You made this?” Now he really did look impressed. “Which ones are the chicken salad?” When she’d pointed it out, he picked up a triangle and took a bite. “Georgia, this is really good.”

“Is it?” she asked, nibbling her lip hopefully.

“It really is. I had no idea you had so many hidden talents.”

“Hey, just because I don’t like to buy groceries doesn’t mean I can’t cook.” She picked up a napkin and threw it at him.

“Point taken. Well, once you’ve made me fat and happy, what are your plans for the rest of the day?”

“It’s a tossup between finishing up the financial aid application for school, or bingeing on
Orange is the New Black
on Netflix. Actually, I’m pretty sure it’ll be the latter.”

Sam studied her thoughtfully. “I didn’t know you were planning on going back to school.”

Georgia took a deep breath and let it out slowly. “Planning isn’t really the right word. I mean, I want to. Or, at least I thought I did, but now that I’m out of school I just… I don’t know. I kind of like having time off to myself.”

“What would you be going back for?”

“My Master’s in accounting.” She made a face as though it was a bitter word.

“You’re good with numbers, huh?”

“I guess.” She gave a shrug. “Why? Would that surprise you?”

“I don’t think anything about you would surprise me, Georgia. I can see for myself that you’re full of hidden skills.” He held up his sandwich as proof, making her giggle. “So, what’s the holdup? What do you need to do to finish the application?”

“I have to write an essay.” She pulled a face. “I’ve just been putting it off, I guess.”

“You’re good at that too.”

“Hey!” she protested, swatting his chest playfully. “Be nice.”

“I am nice, now follow your own advice, because if I get hit again you’ll regret it,” he growled, his tone both formidable and teasing all at once.

“Well, excuse
me
.”

“This once.” He held up a finger to demonstrate. “Do you enjoy accounting?”

“Yeah, I suppose so.”

“You sound so sure.”

She made another face. “I don’t know, I was always good at math and my dad pushed me to go into accounting, so I did.”

“You ever think of changing your major while you were in school?”

“Once or twice.”

“Really? Then why didn’t you?”

Georgia couldn’t help but feel flattered at the way he looked at her while he waited for her answers, as though they really mattered to him. “I don’t know. Too lazy, I guess. I know, I know,” she said before he could interject. “It’s a bad habit.”

Very
naughty,” he agreed with feeling.

She pretended not to hear him. “So, anyway, I know that I need to get it done. I did well in it, so might as well get my Master’s so I can actually do something with it.”

“Okay, well, humor me for just a minute. If you could have switched to anything, what would it have been?”

“I don’t know. I don’t really have big dreams.”

“Hmm.” He considered her, and Georgia got the distinct impression that he didn’t believe her. “Well,” he said at last, “if you need to get it done, then do it.”

“You make it sound so simple.” She grinned wryly.

“It is. But, if you need a bribe, I’ll make you one.”

“Oh?” Now this sounded interesting.

“I have a volunteer shift tonight, but tell you what. If you get your essay finished and turned in then I’ll take you out tomorrow.”

She couldn’t help but smile at the prospect of a night out with him. “OK. Deal.”

He held out his hand, mock-solemn, for her to shake.

Georgia giggled as she complied, noting that he held on to her fingers longer than was necessary to seal the deal. “And Sam? Be careful tonight.”

“Don’t you worry your pretty little head, darlin,’” he said with an exaggerated drawl. “We live in a quiet, peaceful town. Not much happens around these parts.”

True to his prediction, Sam returned home early the next morning safe and sound and texted her that he’d pick her up at seven. Too excited to wait, however, she wandered over to his ranch and got there right after six.
