“Are you okay?” he asked.

“Yeah, I’m fine.”

Pipe and Elena were talking in low tones, so Knife took the time to talk to his woman. “What are you going to do now that you’re back in town?”

“I’ve already asked Saint for my job back. I’ll work at Dirty Deeds, and Elena’s offered me a bed at the cabin she shares with Pipe.” She sighed.

“If you don’t want to stay, I’ll take you back.” He didn’t want to, but if it was what she wanted, he’d do it. For her, he’d do it.

She shook her head. “No, I don’t want to go back to the city. There is nothing there for me, not really. This is home.”

“Will you and Ralf be getting together?”

She snorted. “Doubt it. There’s no way I can trust him after everything that he has done. He’s made it impossible to. I’m not going to be getting back with him. I’m here, but I’m not staying because of him.” She leaned in close, resting her head against his shoulder. “I think we should go out some time. Go dancing, what do you think?”

“I love dancing,” Elena said, speaking up. “It has been so long since we went dancing, Pipe.”

“How about we double date? Saint can have Bluebell for the night, and we go and have some fun.”

“Would you like that?” Sarah asked. “I’d understand if you had a hot date or something.”

The only person he was interested in was sitting beside him.

“No hot date for me, unless you wear a dress, and it would be hot enough.”

“You’ve always been so nice to me, Knife,” she said.

“He’s a nice guy,” Pipe said.

The waitress brought their food to them, and he watched as Sarah dug into the breakfast casserole. It looked damn tasty.

Cutting into a pancake, he covered it in maple syrup and took a bite. The sweetness was so good.

“Here, try this.” Cutting another triangle, he offered it to Sarah, which she took.

“Um, that is so good. I love food.” Sarah moaned, closing her eyes.

“Me, too. It sucks that they don’t create food that allows us to lose weight at the same time,” Elena said.

“What have I told you?” Pipe asked. “There’s nothing wrong with you. You’re perfect as you are.”

“You are both so sweet together.” Sarah smiled at the couple, and Knife watched the sadness fill her eyes. She was such an easy woman to read. He wondered if she knew that, or maybe that was just him.

He took another bite of his pancake as Elena and Sarah started talking about Dirty Deeds, and what needed to be done.

When Bluebell was no longer happy just being fed and started becoming restless, the couple left, and he was alone with Sarah. Before Elena left she asked him to take Sarah to the cabin, and he’d agreed to.

Sarah sighed, turning toward him. “So, what is going on in the land of Knife? Are you having an awesome time with your collection?”

Knife chuckled. “Not really. I’ve been dealing with the two clubs. We’ve got a new deal with the Saints and Sinners MC, you know?”

“You mean where you’re nice to each other, and you’re not pulling your dicks out to measure them.”

“That stings, babe, you know the Hell’s Wolves would always win that race.”

She laughed, resting against him. “I missed you.”

“Did you find what you were looking for?”

“I wasn’t looking for anything.” She twirled her fork on her empty plate. “I don’t know why I left really. Being with Ralf, I thought I had to leave because of the pain, but it wasn’t that.”

“What was it?”

“I had to find myself again.”

“Did you find her?”

“I’m sitting with you, and I’m not breaking apart. Yes, I loved Ralf. He’s been part of my life for a long time, but it hasn’t broken me. I’m stronger now than ever before, and because of that, I’m happier. Much happier.” She gave him a smile then that simply took his breath away. His cock tightened, making it painful for him to move.

“I’m glad, Sarah.”

“Any hot girls for you?”

“There are plenty of girls at the club.” He just didn’t want any of them, and he didn’t work to get pussy. Ever since he’d met this woman, she had done something to him, and he didn’t get it. Knife had never felt the need to be with just one woman. Why settle for one, when you could have them all?

The other women, he didn’t sit and talk with. They were just fucks, and he was no longer interested in fucking them. None of them held any appeal. He sent them away when he found them in his room. A lot of the brothers were worried about him. No one turned away a bitch who was willing to suck cock without any need to do anything.

Knife didn’t just want any set of lips wrapped around him.

This woman had been driving him crazy, and they’d not done anything together except talk and dance. He didn’t know how much longer he was going to handle being around Sarah and not touching her. Now that she was going to be staying at the Prez’s cabin, Knife didn’t know if he was going to be able to keep away from her for long.

Chapter Two

Sarah followed Knife out of the diner. He wouldn’t let her pay for their food, so she had to deal with his rather vague answer. There was no special woman for him, but the Hell’s Wolves had to be swarming with women, right? She had seen the women at the Saints and Sinners MC, and all of them were so beautiful, and not one did she see as frigid.

No wonder Ralf had gone back to the club. She’d been a virgin their first time, and whenever he wanted to do new things, she’d been a little freaked out.

“Please tell me you brought your car?”

“I’m sorry, babe, you’re going to have to hold on tight.” He handed her a helmet, and she stared at it, then at his bike.

“I’ve never ridden a bike.”

“You’ve been dating a biker. How could you not have ridden a bike?”

“I never have. I’ve always felt a little uncomfortable.”

Knife folded his arms and perched on his bike. One of his brows was raised. “You don’t know what you’re missing.”

“I don’t need to know. I’m happy not knowing.”

He rolled his eyes. “Do you trust me?”

“We’re not even going there.”

“Come on. It’ll be interesting to see if you do or not.”

“This is not about trust.”

“It is, actually. Do you trust me? I’ve not done anything to hurt you before.”

She sighed. “You’re right. Okay, I trust you.”

“Then put the helmet on, and climb on.” He turned, cocking his leg over the bike, and straddling his machine. It was a really big bike. “Come on, sweetness.”

She took a deep breath, and nodded. “Fine. I’m climbing on, but you better go slow.”

“I’ll go slow. I promise.”

Putting on the helmet, she climbed on the back of his bike, and held onto the sides of his leather jacket. She was so nervous to touch him. Knife, he was like a giant in comparison to her. He was bigger than Ralf as well. The size of his hands made her think that he was going to hurt her at the slightest touch, yet it was never the case.

“Seriously, woman, you’ve got the thighs for it. Hold onto me.” He grabbed her hands, and wrapped them around his waist. “You’ve got to hold me close.”

“I can’t believe you’ve just told me about my own thighs. That is wrong on so many levels.”

He cupped her thigh, gripping it tightly. “Nothing wrong with a good set of thighs, babe. It shows a man he’s doing something right.”

“You’re not talking about riding a bike, are you?”

“Nope. I’m not talking about riding a bike.”

The helmet had to be the most unattractive thing she had ever worn. The urge to lean forward and whisper a question against his ear was so strong. She held back though. She’d more than likely knock him out with the helmet.

“Hold on tight.” He left her thigh and gripped his handlebars.

She closed her eyes as the machine fired up, the vibration startling her as it hummed beneath her pussy.

He pressed down on the gas, and then they were moving.

“Open your eyes, Sarah,” he said.

“How do you know my eyes are closed?” She shouted the words so that he heard.

“It was a good guess.”

Opening her eyes, she let out a little squeal and held on tightly to him. “What the hell is happening?”

“You’re riding the bike. We’re only doing fifteen. Let me know when you can handle more.”

“Are you crazy? This is fast enough.”

He laughed and kept on driving. After a few seconds, she was ready to go faster. “You can go to twenty.”

The bike charged forward, and she screamed again, gripping him even tighter.

“Stop, stop, stop.”

“Not going to happen. Let’s go to thirty.”

She screamed again as he rode the bike faster. Completely shocking herself, she found that she was actually having lots of fun. She didn’t want to wear the helmet even though she was terrified of bugs hitting her face.

“It feels good, right?” he asked.

He stuck at thirty on the way out of town, and even down a winding road.

“Yes, it’s good.”

Knife moved, bending his machine, and she held him, following each of his movements. Sarah felt safe with him, and that was when she realized, she never had with Ralf. He’d never given her the confidence to ride on the back of his bike.

“This is amazing!” She screamed out, loving it.

“Ready to go a little faster?”

“Hell yeah,” she said.

He pushed down on the gas, and they were going faster. The movement of the bike was so fluid and natural. She held onto Knife even though she wasn’t scared of falling off the bike.

Sarah didn’t want the trip to end. All too soon, he was pulling up outside of Pipe’s cabin.

“We’re here, honey,” he said.

She climbed off the bike and fell in a heap on the ground, laughing as she did. Her legs were wobbly, and it was like she’d been running a marathon rather than riding a bike. Knife got off and helped her up.

“Are you okay?”

“I’m more than okay. That was amazing.” She tugged the helmet off, and moved her head forward, aware of Knife holding her hips as she did so. She turned, flicking her hair back, and smiling at him. His gaze was on her ass. Then his gaze moved, landing on her breasts, before finally on her face. “Erm, are you okay?”

“I’m good.” His voice sounded a little strained.

She smiled, running fingers through her hair. Something was happening between her and Knife, and she wasn’t entirely sure what it was.

“This is the cabin? I don’t see Pipe’s car.”

“They’ve probably stopped off at the clubhouse or something. Come on, I’ve got a spare key.”

“You’ve got a spare key?”

“Yep. Pipe gave me a key while you were saying goodbye to Elena.” He moved up toward the door and inserted the key. Sarah looked around the large cabin, and sighed. It was nice, a lot nicer than her poky apartment.

“I need to head back into the city to grab my stuff.”

“I can go with you if you’d like.”

“Yeah, I’d really like that.”

“When do you want to go?”

“Today. There’s no point in me leaving it a couple of days. I’ve got no clot—” She stopped as she heard the sound of a car approaching. Moving to the front door, she had expected to see Pipe and Elena. Instead, she saw Ralf there. He pulled the car to a stop and climbed out. “What are you doing here?”

“Pipe let me know that you were staying at the cabin. He told me you were at the diner, and when you weren’t there, I figured you were here.” Ralf looked at the bike. “How did you get here?”

Knife moved up behind her, cupping her hip. “I rode her here on my bike.”

“You don’t like riding,” Ralf said.

“She didn’t have a problem.”

“What do you want?” Sarah asked.

Both men were glaring at each other.

“Ralf.” She spoke his name to get him to look at her. “What are you doing here?” she asked.

“I was wondering if you’d like me to go with you to get your stuff.”

“How do you even know I’m staying in Sinners’ Corner?”

“You’re staying with Elena, and we both know this is where you’re meant to be.”

Sarah sighed.

“I’ve already agreed to take her.”

Ralf looked at Knife’s bike. “You’re not going to fit all of your stuff on the bike. I’ll come.”

Knife gripped her hip tightly. His touch was making it impossible to think.

Looking up at him, she saw his gaze was on her. “Do you have a car?”

“I don’t. We can both do it. We’ll both help you.”

“Can I go on your bike?” she asked.

Knife licked his lips, and her pussy pulsed, flooding with warmth. Wow, she had never been struck by the simple action of a man licking his lips. “You can go with Ralf, and I’ll ride behind you.”

“Oh, okay.”

“Unless you want to ride on the back of my bike?”

She really did. Glancing over at Ralf, she saw he looked mightily pissed off.

Why should I care? He left me because he needed a break, and I was supposed to what? Wait for him to come back.

“I’d love to go on your bike.” She took a deep breath and nodded. “Yes. I’d like to go with you, Knife.”

****

“What the fuck are you doing?” Ralf asked.

Knife was down at the car, carrying three boxes, which Ralf was loading into his car. “I don’t have a clue what you’re talking about.”

“Then what the hell are you doing around my girl?”

“Your girl?” Knife smirked. “You stepped out on your girl. Sarah hasn’t been your girl for a long time.”

“She will always be mine.”

Knife shook his head. “You’re an asshole if you think that is true. You lost her, and now you really have to deal with what you lost.”

Ralf took the boxes from him and glared. “You think you’ve got a chance with her?”

“Yeah, I do.”

“What makes you think she’s going to go for you?”

“You see, Ralf, this is where you and I differ. I know what I want, and I know I can make Sarah happy. You? You walked out on her and accused her of trying to change you. It was you that took the deputy position, you that did everything you did. I’m not going to walk away. Sarah, she’s the kind of girl you keep, and you treasure for the rest of your life.”

He walked away, heading back upstairs. Entering the apartment, he saw Sarah was huffing and puffing as she came out of her bedroom.

“Do you need some help with that?”

“Yeah, I’ve got too many clothes.” She dropped the bag, and he lifted it with ease. “Or maybe I’m just not strong enough to lift my own clothes.”

“You’re a woman,” Knife said.

“And what is that supposed to mean?”

“You shouldn’t have to lift anything with me around. I’m a big strapping man, and I can take care of everything.” He gave her a wink and watched her cheeks heat.

“I—I’m going to go and finish packing.”

He watched her turn around and go back into her bedroom.

Something was happening between them, and Knife was looking forward to exploring that. He wouldn’t turn his back on her. Ralf’s loss was proving to be his gain. When he’d been with her that night Pipe took Elena out the back of the bar, he’d been intrigued by this woman who’d had purple hair at the time. Her hair was back to being brown, but she had captured his attention, and held it.

At first, he’d believed she was like many other women who’d use another man to get over her current one. It hadn’t been the case.

Sarah had talked about Ralf and how she was so hurt. Most of the time he tuned out, but with Sarah, he listened, and he’d wanted to make her happy. She’d been so sad and distraught over what happened. Sarah had refused to find someone else while she’d been so cut up about her feelings for Ralf.

He’d not been able to help her other than to offer her a shoulder to cry on. Now, she was over Ralf, and he saw that she was moving on.

Moving into her small bedroom, he stared at the bare mattress, thinking about the times he’d called her when she’d been in bed.

“What’s up?” she asked. She was gathering the few items from around the room.

“Nothing. I just wanted to get a feel for the room that I talked to you in.” He looked around, not taking anything in. The scent of her surrounded him, which he found particularly comforting.

“I like it.”

She chuckled. “You do?”

“It’s so you.”

He loved hearing her laugh. “That’s pretty good seeing as it’s my room.”

“Hey, what’s going on?” Ralf asked, coming into the room.

Knife took a seat on the bare mattress as Sarah continued to put away clothes. “Nothing new. I’m just packing the last few items.”

“Do you have anything in your fridge?” Knife asked.

“A couple of things. I’ve got to unpack it.”

“I’ll go and do it.” He brushed past Ralf, showing him that he wasn’t jealous, and that he had no concerns about leaving him and Sarah alone.

“What’s going on with him?” Ralf asked. The walls were so thin that it was easy to hear their conversation even as he unpacked her fridge.

“What do you mean?” This from Sarah.

“That Hell’s Wolf out there.”

Sarah chuckled. “His name is Knife.”

“I don’t care what his name is.”

“You’re seriously going to do this now?”

“Look, Sarah, I care about—”

“Don’t do that, Ralf. I mean it. Knife, he’s a friend, okay?”

“He looks like he wants a hell of a lot more than friendship from you.”

“So, what business is it of yours?” Sarah asked.

“You’re mine—”

“No, I stopped being yours when you walked out on me, Ralf. I’m moving back to Sinners’ Corner because
I
want to. Yes, you kidnapped me for a day. You and I, we’re not back together. We’re not dating, and when we go back to Sinners’ Corner, I’m not going to be waiting for you. It’s time for me to live my life my way.”
