“That’s wonderful!”
She grabbed both of Brooke’s hands and squeezed. “So, this is serious between
you two?”

She nodded. “Yes.
I love him. I really do. I can’t imagine my life without him. But I’m scared,
too. I don’t know anything about his vanilla life. Nothing.”

“Nothing about
his personal life?”

“Not a thing,”
she confirmed. “He’s taking me to his house this weekend. He said we’d talk
then. I think he may be more nervous about this than I am.”

She was glad to
see her friend’s smile return.

“It’s kind of
cute, you know? Him being so in control all the time, then being nervous about
taking me to his house.”

“I’m so happy
for you. I want to hear all about it next week.”

“Promise,” she
said, opening her menu. “Now, let’s order and get the heck out of here. I want
to tell you about Jason.”

Carrie flipped
open her menu and pretended to read it. She really was pleased things were
working out for her friend, but her mind spun with thoughts of this new Dom.
Would he like her? Would she like him? She trusted both Brooke and Todd. If
they said he was a good match for her, then he was. She shut the menu. “I’m
having a salad. No cooking.” She grinned.

Brooke laid her
menu aside, returning Carrie’s smile “We’ll be out of here in no-time!”

 “I’m not sure I’m
ready for this.” Jason said, pitching his voice low to be on the safe side.

“Don’t worry so
much. You handled yourself well the other night.” Todd eased himself into one
of the seats they’d commandeered in the rear of the plane. “You have a knack
for this. Just focus on the sub’s pleasure and you can’t go wrong. I’ve played
with this girl. Her needs are pretty straightforward. A little pain will make
her wet, and with your looks, you’ll have her eating out of your hand, or your
pants, in no time.”

Jason held his
response as a teammate ambled down the aisle to the lavatory in the back of the
plane. He glanced over his shoulder to make sure they were alone again. “About
that. I’ve been thinking. I make the rules, right?”

“Right. What you
say goes.”

“She can’t see me.
Rule number one, she wears an eye mask all the time. I’ll tell her it’s to
heighten her other senses, and that’s true, but I don’t want her to know who I
am.”

Todd shifted his
frame in the seat meant for anorexic people and glared at Jason. “How the fuck
are you going to accomplish that?”

“I’ll figure it
out. I just need you to make sure she’s blindfolded before I get there tonight.
Then you can leave. I’ll take it from there.”

Todd shook his
head, gazing up the aisle, stretching the silence an interminable length of
time.

Jason shifted in
his seat. Maybe he’d gone too far, but he didn’t think so. Until he knew this
girl, it was the only way he felt at ease. Besides, he rationalized, it was for
her protection as well as his. If thing went wrong, the media would be all over
both of them. She couldn’t hardly comment on their relationship if she didn’t
know who she had a relationship with. Todd would see he was right. Eventually.

Jason leaned
across the empty seat between them. “You’ll do it, won’t you?”

“Yeah, I’ll do
it. What makes you think she would know you anyway?”

He flopped back
in his seat, letting out a pent-up breath. “I don’t know. Maybe she wouldn’t,
but I don’t want to take that chance right now. My career has two toes over the
edge of the cliff already. A sex scandal would do me in.”

“So, you’re
going to ask her for her complete trust, sight unseen literally, and you aren’t
going to give her even the most basic level of trust?”

“It sounds
really fucked up when you put it that way, but she won’t regret it. I’ll make
sure she enjoys every minute she spends with me. I know how to please a woman,
and if she’s willing to explore the darker edges of her sexuality, I can
guarantee her more pleasure than she’s ever had, sight or no sight.”

Todd smirked. “So,
you think you’re more than just a pretty face?”

“I know I am.” He
gazed out the window, trying to find a comfortable position in the cramped
confines of the seat. “When I’m sure of our relationship, I’ll take the
blindfold off, but not until then. If she can’t agree to those terms, then I’ll
find someone who will.”

“We’re getting
the cart before the horse here, aren’t we? You haven’t even seen her yet.”

“You said she’s
pretty. I trust your judgment. Besides, I’ve never seen a woman’s body I didn’t
respond to, and that’s what this is about. Pleasure. Hers and mine. It’s not
like I’m taking on a mail order bride. I don’t want to marry her. I want to
fuck her.”

“Okay, okay. I
get your point. But aren’t you asking her to take a lot on faith?”

“Maybe. She’ll
have the option to walk away tonight. After that, I’ll make sure she has an out
if she ever feels she needs it.”

Todd stretched
his left leg into the aisle, nearly tripping the player returning from the lavatory.
He muttered an apology then stuck his leg back out, rubbing his thigh. “Damn, I’m
getting too old for this shit. Next time you want to talk, do it somewhere
else. From now on, I sit in a bulkhead seat.”

Jason smiled at
his friend’s grumbling. “I’ll be there at seven. Tell her to be there at seven-thirty.
She’s to wear a knit dress—something slinky. No bra, no panties, and high
heels. Any color dress will do. She’s to leave her hair down. You did say she
has long hair, didn’t you?”

Todd scrunched
his eyes shut. “Yeah, shoulder length. Reddish brown. Real pretty.”

“She’s to leave
her hair down, then. I’ll bring the blindfold when I come. Make sure she puts
it on and kneels then you can leave. And make sure the observation mirror is
uncovered. I want to watch her squirm for a while, waiting for me.”

Todd chuckled. “You’re
a sadistic bastard, aren’t you?”

“No, just
cautious.”

Jason swallowed
and shifted to relieve the strain against his zipper. She was the most gorgeous
creature he’d ever seen. Luxurious auburn hair fell in soft waves down her back—not
her shoulders like Todd had said. Soft black fabric hugged generous curves,
covering enough to send his imagination into overdrive and his cock into
serious distress. It was an alluring package and that made it difficult to
focus on the details.

Her nails were
well groomed, her makeup understated. His gaze narrowed to her eyes. Green, or
maybe blue-green. He’d have to ask Todd because he wouldn’t be seeing them
again for a very long time—if at all. Red-tipped toenails peeked from sexy
stilettos that practically screamed, “Fuck me now.”

He punched the
button beside the two-way mirror.

“You’re kidding
me, right?”

Her sassy words,
spoken in that sultry, sensual voice brought a smile to his lips. She tapped
one sexy foot in a nervous gesture, and he added the tell to his memory bank,
along with the tension in her shoulders and the tight lines along her jaw.

“A blindfold?”
She crossed her arms under her breasts and glared daggers at Todd. She might be
submissive, but she wasn’t stupid. “What is he…a freak? Let me guess, he weighs
five hundred pounds.” She paced away, giving him a good look at her
magnificently shaped ass before she turned and continued her rant. “No. I’ve
got it. He’s hideous, disfigured, maimed, and this is the only way he can get
close to a woman. That’s it, isn’t it?”

He smiled. She
was melodramatic, but the passion beneath her outrage was something he would
enjoy channeling in a different direction.

“No. He’s none
of that. Take my word for it—you won’t be disappointed in his physique, and you
have nothing to fear from his touch. He’s a gentleman. He could have any woman
he wants, but he wants you.”

She stopped her
fidgeting, placing her fisted hands on her hips, and studied Todd as if she
could burrow into his mind and tell whether he spoke the truth. He waited with
a patience Jason knew he didn’t have, especially with a submissive woman. At
last, she stuck her hand out, palm up and wiggled her fingers.

 “Okay. Give me
the blindfold. I’ll do it. But if he does anything weird, I’m out of here.” She
looked directly at the two-way mirror. No dimwit—she knew he was there,
watching her. “You got that?”

He laughed. Oh,
he got it all right. And so would she, soon. Very soon. Todd issued  orders to
her in a calm, authoritative voice, which she obeyed with a hint of defiance he
admired. He didn’t want a weak woman, someone who would blindly follow without
a thought for herself. He chuckled at the irony of his thoughts. That’s exactly
what he was asking her to do, blindly trust him with everything she was. A
thrill shot through his veins, hot and exciting, as she adjusted the blindfold
and sank to her knees facing the mirror.

Damn. He was tempted
to go to her right then. But he had a plan, one he’d given a lot of thought to,
and like stepping up to bat, timing was everything.

He issued the
instruction for her to stay put then joined him in the hallway. “What do you
think?”

“She’s going to
be a challenge,” he said without taking his eyes off her kneeling form.

“Yes, she is,
but worth it. She’s eager but wary.”

“Intelligent.
You can see the wheels turning, even with the blindfold on. Look at the way she
works her mouth. She’s thinking, assessing, worrying. Did you see that?” He pointed.
“That twitch in her thighs? She’s anticipating, getting hornier by the moment.”

“You’ve got a
good eye.”

“It’s a batter’s
skill set. Works for catchers, too. You have to watch your pitcher very
carefully, look for details. Finger placement, facial expressions, and subtle
body language. I wish I could see her eyes, but for now, this will do. She’s a
passionate woman. All that passion has to be expressed somewhere, and if she
can’t tell me what she’s thinking with her eyes, she’ll use the rest of her
body.”

Todd nodded. “You’re
right. I don’t know anyone more qualified to judge a person’s mood or
intentions based on body language than you.”

They watched her
in silence for a few more minutes then he clapped Jason on the shoulder. “Gotta
go. She’s all yours. Let me know how it works out.”

“Will do, and
thanks. I owe you.”

“No problem.
Maybe you can give me some tips on reading the pitcher. Maybe teach this old
dog some new tricks.”

“You got it,
anytime.”

Chapter Five

She’d heard the
term “mind fuck,” but it hadn’t held much meaning. Until now. Blindfolded and
kneeling on the hard dungeon floor amidst enough torture devices to please a
medieval Lord, she had nothing to do but wait and think. The experience had her
brain opening doors she didn’t know existed. They were dark doors of longing
and even darker doors behind which lurked self-doubt, trepidation and a healthy
dose of fear. What was she doing here, waiting for an unknown man to come and
claim her, body and soul? What kind of crazy person did such a thing? Despite
Todd’s assurances, this person could be the worst sort of human being. A
predator. A sociopath.

Trust. That’s
what this was about. Submission.

The room was
cool, but a bead of sweat trickled down her spine. The silence in the
soundproofed room rang in her ears, and her knees ached—hell, everything ached
in one way or another. Time became irrelevant. She tried counting her
heartbeats to judge the time, but they proved erratic and inadequate for the
purpose. He was fucking with her head—making her think about what she was
doing, pushing against her barriers, testing her limits and her commitment to
this path, and all without showing his face. Clever. If he knew to test her in
this way from the start, what other means would he devise to get into her head
once he got to know her?

Could she do it?
Could she place herself in the hands of a man she couldn’t see? She had
assurances from people she trusted. Brooke’s words echoed in her mind. “He was
masterful. His commands were clear, and his voice was kind.”

She’d give
anything to hear his voice right now, preferably telling her to stand. The ache
in her knees had spread to her thighs and up the curve of her back. She rolled
her shoulders, releasing some of the tension settled there. She flexed her
hands, held at the small of her back, palms out. She would be sore tomorrow,
and not for any good reason she could see. Her muscles sent frantic messages to
her brain, urging her to forget this crazy idea and get the heck out of there.
Did he have no compassion? What kind of Dom let his sub sit for hours on her
knees, alone in total darkness and absolute silence? Couldn’t he have turned on
some music? She was sick to death of listening to her own heartbeat. What good
could come of this?

Brooke’s words
answered for her, “He didn’t spare me, but he knew when enough was enough.” Her
pussy flooded, reminding her why she was here, and she renewed her resolve to
see this first meeting through. The least she could do was hear him out, see if
they could come to an amicable arrangement. Her heartbeat shifted to warp speed
and her breath came in short, rapid bursts. Is this what he wanted, for her to
imagine all the things he could do to her, all the things she wanted him to do
to her? Her nipples tingled and each breath caused them to chafe against her
dress. Soon, her aching breasts and the throbbing between her legs overrode the
discomfort in her extremities and took over her thoughts.

Enough was
rapidly approaching enough when the scrape of a door opening startled her out
of her erotic musings.

* * *

She was a
magnificent creature. If she’d followed his instructions, she was naked beneath
that swath of black fabric that barely covered the essentials. Her nipples
stretched the cloth like well placed buttons, announcing her arousal. Her auburn
hair fell in soft waves over her shoulders and gleamed in the strategic light.
The room’s dark décor made her pale skin appear fragile as porcelain, but she
was anything but. It took a strong woman to do what she was doing, and if she
agreed to his terms, she would have both physical strength and courage.
