Hunter’s wife, Linda, calls it a “hall pass”. For one night,
they each get to proposition and then sleep with someone they find sexually
attractive. Hunter suspects Linda has an ulterior motive for suggesting they
try such a thing—is she bored with their marriage? With him? But who is he to
look a gift horse in the mouth? Especially when the young lady he’s been
secretly lusting after shows up at his wife’s weekly NBA game party, looking
hot as hell in her short skirt and amazing high heels.

Hunter goes along with his wife’s idea to switch things up a
little bit but hopes he and Linda won’t have too many regrets come morning.

Inside Scoop:

Dedication

This book is dedicated to my friends who always support me. And
to Jill, my wonderful editor, who helps me reach for the stars.

Chapter One

Loud music blared throughout the house and Hunter Morris
gritted his teeth. If they didn’t live on ten acres, which gave them more than
enough privacy, the cops would probably be on their way. His wife Linda danced
on top of their very expensive coffee table with two of her newly found
friends. Yeah, this “little get-together” was getting way out of hand.

He grabbed an empty beer bottle and threw it in the overflowing
trashcan and ran his hand through his hair. If this was how it was going to go
for the rest of the night, he might try to hide. The doorbell rang but of
course no one moved to answer it. Linda and their guests were all too busy
dancing, drinking and, if he were to guess, fucking in one of the guestrooms.
That’s what usually ended up happening at these parties.

Making his way to the door, he opened it to find Beth
standing there with a bottle of vodka in her hand. He ran his gaze down her
body as if he were caressing her with his eyes. Damn, she knew how to dress to
show off her hot body.

Tonight she wore a white shirt that clung to her breasts. He
could tell with a quick glance that she didn’t have a bra on either, since her
nipples were poking out against the material. Her pink skirt was so short that
if she bent over, her ass would show. And her shoes… God damn, did she know how
to pick some fine-ass shoes.

“Sorry I’m late,” she said as she walked into the house. “I
got held up at work. What’s the score?”

The score?
He blinked and then grinned.

“I don’t think they even have the game on anymore. Some
basketball party, huh?”

The whole reason Linda’s friends had invaded his home on a
Thursday night was to watch the NBA playoff game. They kept the TV on for a whole
thirty minutes before someone switched it off and turned on the stereo.

Beth laughed, flashing her white teeth. “Oh come on,
Hunter…you know how these parties end up.”

“And yet I keep agreeing to have them.”

She shook her head and moved past him, headed right toward
the kitchen, which was always one of the hotspots. As she left, he got a nice
view of her ass cheeks peeking from beneath her skirt.
Damn
. A warm arm
wrapped around his waist from the other side and he turned to find Linda grinning
up at him.

“Well?”

“Well what?”

“Did-ju as-kher?”

She slurred her words together and he frowned as he tried to
decipher what she’d just said. A quick glance at the clock hanging on the wall
made him sigh. Only nine and his wife was already trashed.

“Did-ju?”

“Did I what? I have no idea what or who you’re talking
about.”

Linda pulled away and planted a hand on her hip—never a good
sign. She licked her lips.

“Did you ask Beth to be your hall pass?” She spoke
super-slowly, carefully pronouncing each word.

Even though he understood her right away this time, he still
drew a blank. He’d had a long day at the office and he suddenly felt drained.
Then the conversation came crashing back to him. The other night, he and Linda had
jokingly talked about a “hall pass”, or the one person they would sleep with if
they could do so and not face any consequences. He had heard of such a thing
before but he’d been mildly amused that his wife seemed interested in the
thought of sleeping with someone else for one night while he did the same.

Linda had surprised him by immediately naming their longtime
friend Randy. Of course Linda had been doing a lot of things that surprised Hunter
lately. On her thirty-fifth birthday she arrived late to her own party and
literally revealed the tattoo she’d gotten on her ass.

After that, she’d begun partying with some of her coworkers
on the weekends, which led to her spending time with an increasingly younger
crowd. Thus all of the twenty-something people in Hunter’s house tonight. He
couldn’t be too upset though. Through the younger crowd he had met Beth…

“Hunter…did you ask her?”

Linda’s voice brought him back to the present and he shook
his head.

“No, I didn’t. Did you really expect me to?”

Linda glanced over her shoulder. He followed her gaze. Randy
stood a few yards away, his tie askew.

“I take it Randy said yes.” It wasn’t a question.

Linda’s lips lifted into a smile. “I knew he would.” Her
expression turned serious. “But you know I won’t do this unless Beth agrees.”

He couldn’t believe they were having this conversation in
the middle of a party where anyone could listen to them. Fuck, what would his
coworkers who were present think if they overheard? They’d never let him live
it down.

He pulled Linda to the side. “I didn’t think you were
serious the other night.”

Part of him knew she had been serious though. Just as much
as he had been when he thought about which female he would pick. And far from
upsetting him, the idea of his wife being with someone else led to the hottest
wet dream he’d had in a long time. His reaction had surprised him.

Her hazel eyes met his directly. “I was. Hunter, I need
this. I know you love me but I need to feel…special.”

His gut clenched. Where had things gone so wrong with his
wife that she thought a stranger could make her feel more important than he
could?

She must have seen the question in his eyes because she said
in a low voice, “Seventeen years is a long time to be married to someone,
Hunter. You’re the only one I’ve been with sexually. I’m not saying I don’t
love you. I’m saying if I don’t do this, I will always wonder…”

His gaze drifted to Beth, who stood in the kitchen taking a
shot. Yeah, he knew what Linda meant.

“Supposing she does agree, which I highly doubt, then what?”

Linda’s face lit up. “Randy and I can entertain ourselves in
one of the guestrooms. You would be free to use our bedroom until tomorrow.”

“And after that?”

“We move on with our lives, hopefully happier.”

He wasn’t sure sleeping with someone else would make them
happier but it couldn’t hurt anything at this point. Sometimes it was everything
he could do to stay with Linda. Call it a midlife crisis…but he was feeling the
same way his wife was. Seventeen years
was
a long time to be with
someone and lately things had been lackluster with his wife, as if the magic
had been lost. And he didn’t know how to get the spark back in their
relationship. Stress from working probably wasn’t helping things either.
Getting a hard-on was impossible when all he could think about was meetings or
if the new employee would show up on time…

He heard Beth’s throaty chuckle from the kitchen and his
cock jumped. One night? Might not be a bad idea…

He looked down at his wife and nodded in agreement. She
jumped up and down and squealed in response.

He held up a hand. “But only if she agrees, which I doubt
she will.”

“Oh I think she might surprise you. I’ve noticed the way she
eyes you when she thinks no one is looking.”

He snorted. “I’m sure it’s because I’m the only sober guy
around most of the time.”

She grinned. “If that’s what you want to think,” she said.
“See you tomorrow.”

After a quick kiss to Hunter’s cheek, she went and grabbed
Randy’s hand, and they disappeared into the group of dancing bodies in the
living room. He watched for a moment as the group moved as one in a tangled frenzy
of passion.

Chapter Two

Hunter shook his head, trying to gather his thoughts. How in
the hell was he supposed to approach Beth with his proposition? Walking up and
saying, “Hey, Beth, want to be my one-night fuck?” might be a little too
straightforward. She’d probably deck him in the jaw and never speak to him
again, not that he would blame her.

Someone called his name from the kitchen and he found
himself walking that way before he’d decided what to say to Beth. He walked through
the doorway and stopped in his tracks. Beth stood with her back to him, bent
over the counter, showing off something on her phone to one of her friend
sitting on a barstool. Her ass peeked out of the bottom of that short skirt and
he thought he caught a glimpse of a hot-pink thong.

“Damn,” he muttered to himself.

She glanced over her shoulder and winked at him before
turning back to her conversation. He grabbed one of the empty shot glasses
sitting on the island, which they’d set up as a makeshift bar, poured some
vodka, threw it back and then poured another.

Beth shifted her weight to her other leg and the damn skirt
inched higher. His cock grew hard at the sight and pressed against his jeans.
What he would give to unzip his pants right now and take her against the
counter…

“Hey, Hunter!” another female party guest called out from
the other room.

He reluctantly tore his eyes away from Beth’s ass and
turned. “Yeah?”

“We’re out of Jim Beam in here! And Jose!”

Hunter sighed. Who elected him bartender for the evening? He
held back another sigh and headed for the door leading from the kitchen to the
garage. He was definitely ready to escape the party and go to his room.

Linda owned a liquor store and one of the perks that came
with the business was a never-ending supply of booze. He walked to the metal
storage shelf filled with different types of liquor and grabbed a bottle of
flavored vodka, a bottle of tequila and the whiskey.

The door opened and the light click of heels on the cement
floor sounded from behind him.

“Need some help?” Beth asked from behind him.

He turned, surprised to see her in the garage. “Nah…I think
I got it.”

She stared up at him, biting her bottom lip before nodding.
“Okay, just making sure.”

She turned and started to leave. He cursed under his breath,
set the liquor back onto the shelf and reached out for her. She gasped softly
as he pulled her toward his chest.

“Hunter, what are you doing?”

Her eyes were bright with excitement and he could feel her
heart pounding.

“I’m going to propose something that might sound crazy but
hear me out, okay?”

She nodded and he went on.

“You know Linda and I love each other, right? Well, we both
agreed that the other could pick one person who would be their dream fuck—with
a one-night-only clause, if you will.”

Beth’s full lips lifted into a smile. “I’ve heard of couples
doing that before.”

His cock stood completely hard now, pressing against her
stomach. She didn’t make any attempt to move though. Fuck—he had said this much…he
might as well say the rest.

“The only stipulation was that we each had to hook up with
our chosen person on the same night.”

His words sounded insane but he waited to see how Beth would
respond.

“And I’m assuming both of your chosen parties are here
tonight?”

He nodded.

Beth tilted her head. “Is that why I caught Linda and Randy
making out in the linen closet?”

That damn closet had been the source of more action than he
ever thought possible. Who would have guessed that a little room under the
stairs would become one of the town’s hottest make-out spots?

He chuckled. “That would be why.”

She took a half-step forward, pressing their bodies together
even more. “And who did you pick?”

Her perfume drifted to him and he inhaled, loving the smell.
The musky vanilla scent suited her.

“I picked you.”

He thought she would run away at the admission but she remained
before him and nodded thoughtfully.

“So…you want to screw around for one night and then go on as
if it never happened?”

When she put his proposition like that it didn’t sound so
bad.

“That’s the idea.”

“And you’re sure Linda is okay with this?” she asked as her
arms wrapped around his neck and she pressed her breasts into his chest.

“You can always ask her if you don’t believe me.” His hands
settled on her hips.

Beth moistened her lips. “I have a confession. I’m the one
who showed Linda the article about the hall pass.”

His eyebrows shot up in surprise. “You? But why?”

She laughed. “Hunter, I think it’s obvious. You are one of
the sexiest men I have ever met. You’re funny. And you have a smile that
literally makes me wet.”

“I’m older than you—” Part of his brain screamed at him to
shut up and he closed his mouth in compliance.

She rubbed against him. “You’re not that much older. I’m
twenty-two. You’re thirty-six. Big deal.”

She rose up on the tips of her heels and caught his mouth
with hers. He tasted cherries.
Flavored lip-gloss…
The taste, combined
with her hot, willing mouth, set his blood on fire.

Clutching her beneath her ass cheeks, he lifted her and she
wrapped her long legs around his waist. Her fingers teased his hair as he
walked to the utility workbench and set her down. She broke the kiss and
grinned at him.

“Does this mean you’re saying yes?” He needed to know before
anything else happened.

She laughed. “Yes…I am saying yes.”
