.”
He
swapped their positions so she was on the bottom, and then he stood and quick
as lighting his shirt and jeans were off. His boxers followed.

Sammy caught a glimpse of bronzed toned skin, before
he was on top of her again.
“You sure, angel?
Slater
might get funny. We haven’t made love without him.”

Sammy pulled him down to her, and her mouth captured
his and she kissed him to show how sure she was. She ran her hands down his
back and rested on his perfect arse, giving it a squeeze.

Brock’s hands caressed her breasts, and his cock
rubbed against her. He pulled his mouth from hers.

His cock sank into her inch by inch, and she’d never
felt anything like this. It had never been like this with Greg.

Sammy stared up at Brock’s fierce face as he
eased himself into her. He looked like a dark angel on his last thread of
sanity.

Brock pumped faster and faster, like he was crazed
and needed to possess her. He rolled them over so she was on top, and in a
guttural voice he moaned, “Ride me. I want to come when you come. I want to see
your face as I pour myself into you.

His dirty talk gave her incentive. Sammy picked
herself
up and slammed herself down on his thick cock.
Brock’s hands came up to cup her breasts and skim over the tips of her
nipples.

Sammy stared down at his intense look, the planes of
Brock’s perfect face straining in concentration. Reaching down she stroked his
cheek. “I love you so much.” She leaned down and kissed him.

Brock snarled and pulled her off him. Sammy was
scared for a moment she’d said something wrong, but he flipped her over so she
was on all fours and he draped himself over her.

“Hold on to something because I’m going to show you
you’re mine.”

He lined his dick up to her and slammed home.
Sammy’s grunt turned into a moan as he pulled almost all the way out and thrust
into her again and again.

Sammy had
never been taken like this. And the feel of Brock draped over her back, his
cock pumping into her, had Sammy so turned on she couldn’t last any longer.
Sammy let herself go, pushing back against him and screaming her pleasure as
she felt her core squeeze around him.

Brock roared then buried his face into the side he’d
bitten the other day and sank his teeth into her again. She felt the warmth of
his cum as he let himself go.

Sammy felt fantastic. What she and Brock had done
had felt amazing, but deep down someone felt like they were missing. She wished
Slater was here.

****

Sammy lay on top of him as he drew circles on her
back.

Brock moved her around so he could
see her face.

He was worried he’d been
too rough. “I didn’t hurt you, did I?”

Nuuuhaa
.
That
was so good.”

Brock chuckled and kissed her forehead. He loved
this woman so much. He’d been in doubt about what he was doing today with the
help of his boss, but he wanted her safe, and she could never be properly safe
if he didn’t bring justice to the people who hurt her.

“Do you think Slater will be upset because I told
you first that I love you?”

Brock couldn’t help the stupid grin he knew must be
on his face as he thought about what she’d said. “He’ll get over it.”

Sammy sighed, and her breath tickled his already
sensitive skin.

“I’ll make it up to him tomorrow
while you’re at work all day.”

“That might appease him.”

Brock took in a deep breath on her scent in. She smelled
of peaches, honey, and him.

“I’ll find a special way to say it to him.”

Brock chuckled at the worry in Sammy’s voice. He
didn’t think Slater would worry too much that she’d said she loved him first.
As much as Brock hated to admit it, he knew Slater and he were pretty equal to
Sammy.

“Don’t worry, angel. You’ll work it out.” He pulled
her tighter to him and pulled her up so his lips brushed her hers, lingering
for a moment. “I don’t want to get up, but we have to go to the barbeque as my captain’s
the one throwing it.”

Sammy groaned against him. “Can’t we just stay here
like this?”

“I wish, but I said we would be there, and everyone
is eager to meet you.”

Sammy made a strangled choking sound. “I can’t go
now you’ve said that.”

Brock sat himself up bringing Sammy up with him so
she straddled his lap. He cupped her face and ran his thumb over her cheek.
“Why not?”

“Because not only did you rip my cop introduction
clothes apart, you need to look in the mirror, ‘
cos
you are unbelievably hot. I’m not even in your league.” Sammy reached up and
stroked his cheek. “Clean shaven, your hair all neat and slicked back.” She
messed his hair up, running her fingers through it. “And in the clothes you
were wearing you’re a high ten. I’m lucky when I stand next to you if I’m a
seven.”

“What the hell are you talking about?”

“You.
I’m
talking about how you are way out of my league, both you and Slater. I usually
don’t care what people think, but today though, you looked like a friggin’ GQ
model when I saw you. I’ve already had bad experience with cops. Going with you
looking the way you do is just asking for trouble.”

If he ever got his hands on Greg again he would kill
the bastard. He hoped tonight he would learn something to get Greg’s helpers
put away. Brock knew most of the guys from Greg’s division, and he’d been so
shocked at first by what they’d let happen. After working with the DEA he
wasn’t shocked anymore, just angry.

“Did other cops say stuff like Greg did?” Brock
thought he would try once more to ask for information from Sammy.

Sammy shrugged, averted her eyes and moved out of his
hands to his side.

“What did they say?”

“Nothing.
Well, nothing was said directly to me. It was said snidely and behind my back.
Most of it had to do with other things.” Sammy looked anywhere but at him.

He frowned. “Like what?”

Sammy got off his lap and the bed. She stood and
walked to the bathroom. “Don’t worry. Forget about it. Let’s get ready and go
before we’re even later.”

Snarling at the situation he was in, Brock listened
as the bathroom taps turned on, and he wondered if he should let the
conversation go to keep the peace for now, or find out what he wanted and know
who he should beat the shit out of, if the plan went accurately tonight.

Brock knew Sammy hated his aggressive side. He knew
he should leave it. He knew after tonight he would have fences to mend, but he
didn’t like going into a situation without all the information.

Getting out of bed he went to the bathroom, opened
the shower door, and got in. Sammy got out, and Brock could smell how scared
Sammy was as well as the waves of worry and unworthiness. He would find out
what was said and who said what and why she was so scared.

Sammy barely said anything as she got dressed into a
black and red floral dress. She wore black strappy heels and red lip-gloss and
pink eye-shadow. She looked gorgeous with her hair down framing her beautiful
face.

Brock could feel Sammy’s nerves, but any time he
tried asking about who or what was said she shut down.

They arrived at his captain’s house only twenty
minutes late. He got out of the car and opened Sammy’s door. She got out and
straightened her outfit.

“You look beautiful.” He reached for her hand and
held it. Before they reached the door he brought her hand up and kissed.
“You’ll do great.”

He watched fascinated as she narrowed her eyes, took
a deep breath, nodded, straightened her back, and plastered a grim smile on her
face. “Come on. Let’s get this over with before I chicken out and get a taxi
home or beg Slater to throw his kitchen into chaos and come and get me.”

They walked around the back where the music was on
and the smell of the barbeque came from.

Sammy gripped his hand tight as they went into the barbeque.

Brock took them straight over to his captain, who
was at two large barbeques with an apron on that read “I can do it all because
I’m the boss”.

“Brock, I see you finally got here. We’ve all been
waiting for you as I think this is maybe the second event you’ve ever been to.
I think the first I made it compulsory for you to come. Why are you late? Did
you get lost or forget the time I said this started?”

Brock rolled his eyes. His captain was a bad actor,
very over the top, but he went along with it. It was true Brock didn’t go to
the big events, but he’d been around to his captain’s house for dinner every
couple of months. “It’s the third. I learned my lesson after the one you made
compulsory for me to come to. You’re worse than a bunch of old women, even
worse than my mother, and she drives me nuts. I don’t need to be set up. I can
find my own woman.”

His captain laughed. “Yes, I can see. Are you going
to introduce her or stand there arguing and whining?” His captain winked at
Sammy.

Glaring at the older man Brock looked down to see a
genuine smile on Sammy’s face. “Captain, this is Sammy, Sammy, captain.”

Sammy held her hand out. “It’s nice to meet you, Captain…”

“Captain Roth, but you may call me Albert.”

“I didn’t know your name was Albert?” A couple of
guys from Brock’s unit yelled behind them.

“It’s not to any of you idiots, but it is to this
lovely lady who must be a saint to put up with Brock.”

Sammy let go of his hand and giggled. “Albert, is
there anything I can do to help? Is your wife or partner inside? Do they need
help?”

“My wife and daughter are in the kitchen.” His
captain’s voice lowered to a whisper. “They’re hiding. They’re avoiding the
badge bunnies.” Albert chuckled. “My daughter, Lena, doesn’t play nice with
them. The girl Bentley brought has already been brought to tears by her, and I
stopped just in time a confrontation between Lena and Steven’s girl.”

“I’d love to go meet them and help them if they need
any help.”

“Sure. Go through the fly screen to the right of us,
and the kitchen is to the left.”

Brock relaxed as he watched Sammy walk off without
even saying bye to him or dragging him along.

“How’s she doing?”

Brock looked back at his captain and shrugged. “When
Slater had two chefs come down with the flu and couldn’t work, he had to fill
in instead of coming to this. Sammy tried anything to get out of the barbeque.
I’m ashamed of being a cop right now. I can’t wait to get my hands on them
tonight. What she went through.” Brock shook his head. “She was scared shitless
to come here. The car before we got out of it
reeked
of terror. I know the badge bunnies are tough and not pleasant. And some woman
and men are nasty on their own, but, what happened to her.” Brock ran his
fingers through his hair. “She won’t tell much, but I know something happened
at these events to make her so scared. I’m really determined to find out
tonight.”

His captain frowned. “I remember you and Jake
telling me what happened. I have no idea how precinct Breakaway could have
ignored everything that went on, a serial killer and an abuser. There’s more
involved. I’m glad the bureau is letting us help with the investigation.”

Brock didn’t care that his eyes shone with his bear
as he grinned. “I owe you.”

“I know you do. I don’t like my house filled with Internal
Affairs. But I know how much power you shifters have. I may one day need help,
and it’s always good to have allies. Just don’t kill anyone.”

“I won’t kill them. They may wish they were dead
when I finish with them, but they will live. It’s a pity Jake’s at home with
his mate. He would appreciate this.”

Brock went to go talk to some of his colleagues and
give Slater a call when his captain stopped him.

“I don’t want to be overrun with shifters. I think Sammy
is going to need Slater to come as she’s going to be pissed with you. So call
him and tell him.

Also, leave Captain Mannering
to me.”

Brock nodded and shrugged off his captain’s hold. He
told himself not to think of how angry Sammy would be. Sammy would forgive him;
he was doing this for her. He wanted her safe. Brock saw his partner
Kegon
studying him as he walked to him.

“Want to tell me what you and that cap have
planned?”

Brock could feel the stupid grin spread over his
face. He couldn’t wait to get revenge for what some of the people from
Breakaway did to Sammy. “You know what’s going on. I’m hoping we might learn where
Greg is. And with our shifter senses we’ll be able to smell the fear and hear
any whispered things that weren’t meant to be heard at the sight of Sammy.”

Kegen
nodded. “All I’m saying is good luck, ‘
cos
I have a sister.
She may not be my mate, but I know if I did what you’re doing to Sammy to her,
she would gut me like a fish. You’re using her as bait hoping they will fall. It’s
worse for you because when you tell Slater there is no way he will miss this.
He’ll close his restaurant, and he might kill you.”
