Rosie’s Peppermint Love Hearts

You will need:

  400g icing sugar, sifted (and a little extra for dusting)

  2 medium eggs, whites only

  A few drops of peppermint oil

  A few drops of red food colouring

  A sieve

  A cutting board

  A rolling pin

  A large plate covered in greaseproof paper

  A heart-shaped cutter

Place the sifted icing sugar in a bowl.

  Whisk the egg whites together into froth.

  Add the egg whites, red food colouring and the peppermint oil to the icing sugar little by little, until the mixture becomes stiff and holds together.
