“Ah, my love. I love that I can still
make you blush!”

Chapter Fifteen

Mackenzie
woke alone in bed the next morning and felt bereft.  She’d gotten used to Chase
cuddling her close in the mornings and showering her with hot kisses and
caresses.

She stretched and touched a piece of
paper on his pillow.  She frowned, then smiled when she read the short note.

Had to go into Nassau and did not want
to wake you. Hold those kisses till I’m back!

Try as she might she could not think
of him as a gigolo anymore.  He was just too considerate and kind.  Not just to
her, but to his family, his staff and even her family.  A true gigolo only
concerned him with himself, his needs and had no care for others.  Chase, well
… he has just become … perfect … for her.

The baby room was done and looked too
cute for words.  Mackenzie decided to finish the mural she was painting on the
one wall of a colorful forest scene full of playful animals.  Chase spared no
cost on the decorating of the room and had state of the art monitoring systems
installed.  It will enable them to monitor the sounds in the baby room from
anywhere in the house by way of small touch and sound screens in the main
areas.

She finished the last stroke and stood
back critically to evaluate her work.  Satisfied that she could not improve on
anything she put the paint brush and paints away and started to move the
lighter furniture back where they belong.

“What the devil are you doing?  You
know you are not supposed to move heavy things around!”

Mackenzie got such a fright her heart
missed a few beats at the angry bellow from the door.  She spun around and
scowled angrily.

“Frightening me like that would cause
more damage than moving this lightweight chair!”

Chase just grunted and walked deeper
into the room and moved everything back where it should be.

“Next time you call me!  If I am not
here, you wait until I am back. Is that clear?”

“For heaven’s sake!”

“Is that clear?”

“Yes!”

“Good, now, where is my morning kiss?”

“Where you left it, in the bed!”

She flounced around, but Chase took
hold of her hips and drew her back into his body.  He nuzzled her ear.

“You’re mad because I left without waking
you?  You looked so peaceful, honey.  I did not want to disturb you.  Give me
my kiss, hotcakes.  I was not gone that long!”

She grunted and turned her face to
his, offering him her lips.  He chuckled and shook his head.  His hand folded
around her throat to tilt her head further back before his lips captured hers
in a drawn out, sensually passionate kiss.  She was breathing hard by the time
he released her lips and she gazed at him through lowered lids.

How was it that she couldn’t get
enough of this man?  A simple touch, caress or kiss, turned her insides to a
flaming inferno.  Yet it was more than just physical need, it was too intense,
too specific to him to be just physical.  Her heart thumped erratically inside
her chest.  Oh lord … it was her heart!  Her stupid heart got involved!  The
thump-thump rang in her ears and she swung her head forward lest he read the emotions
twirling through her mind.

I love him.  I lost my heart to this
sinful tempting man!  How could I have allowed that to happen?  He is not the
forever type of man!

Chase tightened his arms around Mackenzie’s
bulging tummy.  His heart racing.  When will his need for her start receding?
He acknowledged long ago that she was different from any other woman he has
ever had.

She was more tempting.

More fulfilling.

More needed!

She made him feel complete.

He could not imagine what his life
would be like if she suddenly disappeared out of it.  Having her with him has
become a necessity to his daily existence as breathing air into his lungs!

What the hell!  I am in so much
trouble!

“Ahum … I feel like getting out of the
house today, hotcakes.  I need to clear my head a little.  What do you say,
shall we go sailing?  Just us?”

She stepped out of his arms, still
desperately trying to order her emotions to behave themselves.  Her voice was
husky and she had to clear her throat to answer him.

“That would be nice.  I just want to
change into my bathing suit first.”

He nodded and followed her into their
room to do the same.

It was just the two of them on the
massive yacht, but it was automatically driven, so Chase managed well enough.
Mackenzie sat on the seat next to him inside the operations room until he had
the anchor dropped.

He drew her in his arms and smiled
into her eyes.  She sighed into the amorous kiss they indulged in.  She giggled
when Chase nuzzled her throat, then sighed when he sucked the skin and kissed
her deeply, leaving a faint mark in the curve of her neck.

“Do you have any idea how beautiful
you are, little dove?”

“Chase, I am a waggling walrus!  My
hands, feet and face is swollen!”

“Are you arguing with me again,
Mackenzie?”

“No … I am jus …”

“Good.  Come, I had Essie pack us a
picnic basket for lunch, and yes!  I even brought ice cream with!”

She giggled at him for rolling his
eyes at her and followed him to the back of the yacht towards the Jacuzzi.

“Get in so long, honey. I’ll set up
lunch on the side here.  It is all finger food.”

He frowned when she took off her
sundress and noticed that she wore a full one piece bathing suit.

“Why did you not put on a bikini?  You
know I hate those things!”

“I am also seven months pregnant!”

“So what?  You are still beautiful and
sexy.  Then you’ll just have to remove it.”

“Chase …”

“There is no one around.  It is just
you and I.  I want to be able to touch your tummy.  Please honey.”

Mackenzie shook her head, but
dutifully removed the bathing suit. She quickly scooted into the Jacuzzi and
Chase chuckled.

Lunch was one of the more memorable
moments she would always treasure.  He fed her between hugs and kisses.  He
took full advantage of her nakedness to fondle her breasts. He kissed and
suckled them at his leisure.

He leaned and nibbled her earlobe
before sucking it sensually.  His voice was husky in her ear.

“I need one of those lap-sit-type
moments, honey. Desperately!"

Chase did not need to be asked twice.
Mackenzie rose and turned sideways to lower herself on his lap.  He held her
hips and shook his head.

“I don’t need more time, honey … I am
more than ready and … hmm … so are you!”  His finger inside her channel found
her hot and wet.

He held his shaft and lowered her over
him.  They both groaned with every inch he lowered her onto him.  By the time
he was settled to the hilt, Mackenzie was panting.  She took his face between
her hands and locked her lips around him, clamping and releasing her inner muscles
around him relentlessly.

Mackenzie smiled as she felt him jerk
inside her and he growled.  His hands closed around her hips and he lifted her,
then set a rhythm with him thrusting and lifting and dropping her.  She mewled
at the hardness and depth of him.  She felt his velvet strength against every
inch of her inner channel. Her mewl turned to a cry when his lips closed over
her nipple and suckled.

She bore down onto him, her body on
fire and on the precipice of hurling into an abyss.  Chase spread her legs and
stroked and rubbed her clit.  With his next upward thrust Mackenzie screamed as
her climax shattered inside her, bending her backwards in its intensity.  Chase
watched her face and then shouted when he too felt the heat of his climax
incinerate his blood as he spilled his seed deep inside her.

Chase wrapped his arms around her,
both of them breathing hard.  He closed his eyes, his semi-hard shaft still inside
her pulsing channel. He still found it difficult to believe that every time
with her shook him and was more than he has ever had with anyone before her.
More so, the fact that he still wanted and needed her after so many months of
just her.  He’s had no thought of another woman since that day he made her his
on the beach.

They remained in each other’s arms for
over an hour, just savoring their closeness.  They talked about his books. He
told her where he got his ideas from, how he went about doing research and that
it thrilled him every time he held his latest book in his hands.

Eventually Chase rapped Mackenzie on
her ass and told her to get up.

“I have something else planned and for
that, we need to go back to the Island.  Better get dressed, woman.  You know I
can’t resist you.”

“Only if you get dressed too.”

“I am dressed.”

He frowned at her and she lifted her
eyebrows. She slapped her fingers on his naked chest.

“No big boy!  Walking around flaunting
your naked chest all day is not being dressed!”

“But it is the accepted dress code for
the Island.”

“Very well, then I’ll leave the top of
my dress off as well.”

He wiggled his eyebrows.

“I won’t mind, honey.  As long as you
realize I can’t keep my lips from those succulent nipples of yours!”

He laughed when her cheeks turned red
and she whipped her dress over her head.

Chase anchored the yacht just off to
the side of the beach where they first had sex.  Where little Carter was
created.  Mackenzie swallowed hard, wondering what he was up to.  He guided her
to the lower level where they got on the Jet Ski and within minutes they were
on the beach.

He picked her up and carried her to
the exact spot where he laid her on the sand and shook her world for the very
first time.

“What are we doing here, Babe?”

“Such a nosy little dove you are.”

“I am anything but little at this
point and getting bigger by the day!”

“I did not bring you here to argue
with you, hotcakes, relax and sit down.”

She noticed they were standing on a
large picnic blanket.  There was a bottle of sparkling grape juice in an ice bucket
on the side of the blanket and three red roses.  He held her hand and helped
her to sit down on the blanket.  She was proud that she at least could still do
it with a small measure of grace.

Chase sat down next to her and took
her hand in his.  He sat looking at her hand in his and played with her fingers
and stroked her palm with his thumb.  He looked around and his eyes came to
rest on the no trespassing sign.

“Do you know where we are, honey?”

“This specific spot … yes, Babe, of
course.”

“Are you sorry I took you that day?”

She looked at him, his eyes
shuttered.  She shook her head.

“Why do you ask that?”

“Are you?”

“No, Chase, I’m not.”

He drew slow circles on the inside of
her hand and shivers ran down her spine.  The smallest touch from this man
makes her forget her own name!

“You do know you totally destroyed my
reputation that day.”

“How … what do you mean?”

“Well, honey, you were the first woman
I was with since before my Dad passed away over a year ago and the only one
since.”

“How did that destroy your
reputation?”

He looked at her with humor in his
eyes.

“You constantly remind me of my gigolo
status, hotcakes.  And yeah, I can’t deny that I was somewhat of a gigolo.”

“Somewhat?”

His eyes darkened and anger flashed
bright.

“Do you know how angry I was that day
you thought I had sex with Bree?”

“Why?  Even your family told me how
you spread yourself around!”

“Not as damn much as you made yourself
believe!  The tabloids exaggerate everything.  You should know that!”

“Why are you so angry now?”

“Because you have been living with me
for months at that stage already. Yet the first thing that you believed when
another woman walks in here is that I had sex with her!”

“Well that is what it always has
been!”

He sighed and ran his hand through his
hair.

“Do you know how long it takes to
complete one of my books, Mackenzie?  Anything from eight to eighteen months.
I never leave this Island while I write.  Never.  I published my first book
fourteen years ago.  I lived on another Island in Florida Keys for ten years
until I bought this one.  Then I spent two months max on the mainland while we
launch my books.  Another week or two during the movie premiers.  You do the
math, Mackenzie.  I enjoyed women and I had sex with those that wanted just
that, but not a different one every damn night! Most definitely not every night
even! I do have some self-respect!”
