Chapter 11
Epiphany

I was prepared to get my man back tonight. I
am sick and tired of Danger’s abusive and possessive ass. He can’t
seem to keep his meat in his pants or his hands out my face. I am a
beauty and I do not deserve to be treated like trash. I stand at
five feet eleven with no heels. Washboard abs, thick thighs, grey
eyes and I have a nice little behind that fit my frame. Danger
stunted on me. He tricked me into believing that he had mad paper
only to find out he is just a worker. I cheated on a man that
treated me like royalty and is a king in the streets for a
peasant.

What more could a girl have asked for? I just
thought I was missing something and messed around and lost my man.
I could have went back on hands and knees begging for forgiveness
from my man but Danger has some type of hold on me that I can’t
explain. Even though he treats me like shit at times I know that he
will kill behind me and for me. He knew I was Legend’s woman and he
came after me on purpose.

Legend and Danger started the GMB together.
They were making money hand over fist. From what I heard they were
a good team but Danger kept messing up. The traps kept getting
raided because of his carelessness so Legend started to pull back.
The breaking point came when Legend’s cousin ended up getting
killed behind some mess that Danger had started. Legend killed
every dude that was involved in killing his cousin and almost
killed Danger too. After all that he took his loyal soldiers and
they started doing their own thing. Danger has it out for Legend
and I had been saving him but no more after he let that bitch do me
like that.

Tonight ended in a total disaster. I got out
of the house in high hopes of having some fun and getting me some
of that good wood that Legend has. My girls are pissed and ditched
me because of what happened at the club. Those broads are my riders
but they get on my nerves sometimes. I really can’t be mad at them
since it had been a minute since I have been able to hang with my
girls Tiffany and Sam. I know tonight was supposed to be for us but
seeing who it was all over him turned me into a jealous rage. It
didn’t help that they were in my ear. Sam being the instigator of
us three tapped me on my shoulder and whispered in my ear,

“Piphy look over there, your man is all
hugged up with some trick. Do you see the way she is all over him?
Girl it couldn’t be me right now because I would be kicking some
ass!”

“Shut up Sam!” Tiffany screamed.

“Sam, Tiffany, you two follow me. He really
got me messed up having some girl all over him when he knows I was
coming tonight.”

Tiffany scrunched her face up at my remark
and rudely said, “Girl this is your fault! How can you expect that
man to show you any type of respect after you cheated on him with
Danger’s no good behind? If you would have kept your legs closed
then your “Man” as you say wouldn’t be over there hugged up with
the next chic. If Legend was my man we would be making plans to
walk down the aisle by now.”

“Well Tiffany, get over it. He is not your
man and you are not my momma! Besides, we both know you shouldn’t
be judging anyone when your boyfriend is a happily married man,” I
said as I whipped my hair over my shoulder.

“While you and Tiffany are having it out your
man is over there making it rain hundreds on that slut,” Sam said
with an evil grin.

Sam lived for drama so the drama that was
unfolding at this minute was right on time for her. Sometimes I
don’t know how I am even friends with this drama queen and holier
than thou heifers. This is the very reason why I allowed Danger to
tell me to stop hanging with them so much. I didn’t have time to
sit and argue with them, it was time for me to go get my man. I
sashayed on over like a model in my all red Prada dress and my
black six inch Prada heels that make my legs look as if they go on
for miles. His boys looked at me and grinned when they saw me
because they knew I was pissed. I flipped them the bird and kept on
pushing. I hated them as much as they hated me.

I walked up on Legend and stood there
watching him watch her for two minutes before I tapped him on his
shoulder. I knew he could smell me a mile away because I made sure
I wore the Gucci Guilty fragrance that he loved for me to wear.
This girl had him under a trance or something and I wasn’t feeling
that. He had the nerve to turn around and look at me as if I was
annoying him and told me he was busy. I felt so disrespected and
embarrassed. It was once a time when he wouldn’t have even looked
at another woman nor would he have made me feel like this. I knew
not to put my hands on him so I decided to take it out on her
instead.

I stepped around him to start something with
her but when I saw her face I froze. I could not believe that he
was here with Trutice. A gun would have been great to have because
I would have blown both of their heads off. She was still grinding
on him with a smirk on her face taunting me, forcing me to take
some kind of action. When I said something to him she had the nerve
to talk to me as if he was her man. That was it, I drew my hand
back to throw my drink on them and that skank kicked me in the
chest. I wasn’t ready for that so there was no way I could counter
her move. I flipped over the booth behind me and busted my lip on
the table. I know my girls are down no matter who or what the
situation is but tonight we weren’t ready. They kicked our butts, I
will admit that but this is far from over.

We have had a few fights before but tonight
she really put it on me. How will I be able to explain this black
eye to my Danger? He is out of town supposedly on business and I
was supposed to be home waiting for him to come back. He has warned
me many times and told me to stay as far away from Legend or else
it will be some problems. I had been doing well by staying away but
I want that man so bad. Legend was one of the best lovers that I
ever had. His sex isn’t the only thing that makes me want him
though. I miss the extravagant lifestyle that I had become
accustomed to. Danger can hit my spots good but he can’t afford me.
If I wouldn’t have ever cheated with Danger then Trutice wouldn’t
have had a chance.

Speaking of Trutice, she has been a thorn in
my side ever since we were kids. I met her one summer when she was
my sparring partner at taekwondo class and from there we had become
friends. We both are black belts so I would have given her the
business if I wasn’t caught off guard. When school started back she
came to my school. Myst, Trutice and I were good friends until
seventh grade when she started going out with the guy she knew I
liked. Johnathon Hensley was the flyest boy in school. He was light
complexion, tall with curly hair and was cut up like he had hit the
gym his whole life. We had a class for eighth period and used to
always flirt back and forth until he met Trutice. I met the girls
in the hall and was standing there talking when he walked up to
speak to me. We weren’t boyfriend and girlfriend but our
relationship had been going pretty good in my eyes until he laid
his eyes on her. His body appeared to be frozen as he stood there
with his mouth open in a daze. I snapped my fingers and waved my
hands in his face a few times and still got no response.

Once he realized what he was doing and
finally came to he completely ignored me. He didn’t hear a word
that I said nor did he even see me standing there anymore. My heart
was crushed and my feelings were hurt beyond belief because I had
been liking him since I met him but he had never looked at me the
way he was looking at her. Trutice was never shy so she took full
advantage of the situation. I was pissed because I had told her
that I liked him a little while back. When I mentioned it to her
she said that she liked him too so whichever one he chose would
date him and the other wouldn’t be mad. I pinky promised but when
he chose her I felt betrayed. We were kids then so she got to live
but this time she has gone too far. I got something for her!

Chapter 12
Truth

I should have known it was going to be too
good to be true! I refuse to be out here fighting over a man that
isn’t mines. What makes the situation even worse is that Epiphany
is his ex. My nostrils are flared, my chest is tight and I can’t
seem to shake the evil thoughts of killing her out of my mind.
Legend has been calling me back to back since I left the club but
I’m not feeling him right now. My girls are in the limo all hyped
about what happened but I am not enjoying this shit. For once I
would like to have a dude that does not come with all the extra
drama. I had enough of that with my ex and I refuse to take myself
through the drama again. No other man will ever get the
satisfaction of dragging me through the mud and making a fool out
of me!

As I sit here looking out the window thinking
to myself I can’t help but to wonder what could have been had
things went right tonight? Out of nowhere the driver slams on the
breaks, my head hits the window and I am dazed for a quick second.
I reach for my purse to get my twenty-two because I guarantee I am
not going down without a fight but my purse had flown to the floor
so I couldn’t reach it. The situation has clicked to everyone so
the girls are getting themselves together and war mode has set in.
While I am still trying to grab my purse the door flies open and I
am being snatched from my seat. I didn’t know who wanted me but I
do know what I have done and what I am capable of so I wasn’t
worried. I swing as he picks me up but the licks don’t seem to faze
him.

“Beautiful, beautiful, calm down baby girl;
it’s me Legend!”

“Fuck you Legend! What made you think this
would be cool?” I said as I continued to swing. I was pissed off
and there was no way that he could have thought this would be the
right thing to do! I looked over his shoulder to catch a glimpse of
my girls and they are all standing there cheesing like this isn’t
happening.

“Put me down right damn now Legend!”

“No, you’re coming with me.” He said as he
walked me over to his ride.

“I am not going anywhere with you after the
shit that happened tonight so you may as well put me down before I
do something to make you put me down.

“You are coming with me so you may as well
calm your ass down!”

Legend carried me to his Rolls-Royce Phantom
while I kicked and screamed obscenities. He could care less what I
was doing and what I was talking about. Truth be told, if I really
wanted to get away from him then I could. His first mistake was
putting me over his shoulder. My girls haven’t said anything nor
have they came to help so his boys must have laced them up on what
he was going to do. Legend was so determined to take me with him
that once we reached the car he had his driver open the door and he
got in the car with me still in his arms. I pouted my lip then
crossed my arms over my chest so that he could see that I was mad.
I tried to get out of his lap so that I can move on the other side
but he held on tighter.

“I’m sorry beautiful, I did not mean to put
you in a situation like that. I really want to kick it with you and
make you mine someday so I need you to forgive me.”

“I will not be doing this with you. This is
the first time we meet up to hang and I had to beat your ex, who is
my number one enemy by the way, in the club and then you kidnap
me!! What the hell, I can see that this relationship will be
nothing but drama.” I said as I crossed my arms over my chest and
looked him in the eyes.

“You didn’t mention the other thing you did
though,” he said with a smirk.

“I have no idea what you are talking about
and I am through talking.” I said with my lips poked out and a roll
of the eyes.

“I like your feistiness I really do, so no
matter how mad you continue to act or how quiet you try to remain
you are coming with me and that’s final.”

I continued to pout yet I knew that fighting
with him right now was a no win situation. I huffed a few more
times to blow off some steam then rested my head onto his chest and
got comfortable. He squeezed me tighter then began to roam his
hands all over my back firm and gently. The massage was much needed
and I liked the feeling that was coming over me. He refused to let
me go no matter how much I stirred and I really don’t know if I
wanted him to. I really wanted to enjoy him but my mind was
consumed with the thoughts of all the drama that is sure to come if
I give him a chance.

Slow jams played in the background on this
quiet ride. Tink’s song, “Treat Me Like Somebody” had me in my
feelings even more. I softly sang to myself,

“Somebody real is hard to find

Somebody worth all your time

Somebody who can tell you the truth

Someone who loves you for you

Someone who knows all of your flaws &

Doesn't impose, try to control them

Let's you be free

Doesn't deceive &

Gives you a chance to believe

Believe in something

Is that too much?

Cause I've been on the search and I'm losing
my hope

Is that too much? Is that too much?

Trying to find love in a world so cold

Is that too much?

I just want an answer, I can't be the only
one

Is that too much?

You ain't got to be perfect

Just give me a purpose to love

I just want somebody (body)

To treat me like somebody (body)

Won't be like everybody (body)

All you got to do is love me for me
baby.”

I could feel exactly what she was saying
because I have been let down a few times after I opened my heart.
Sometimes I think it is so easy to kill my male victims because of
what I had been through. He rubbed my hair then lifted my chin so
that my gaze could meet his eyes. I was locked in and the gaze was
so intense that I had to turn my head. He let me into the windows
of his soul and I knew if I didn’t get as far away from him as I
can then he will be able to consume me into his world.
