To Mitch Douglas-Who was the first one to say, "Sit down and write your
book." I am grateful to him for pushing me until I finally wrote it. Thanks, Mitch,
for having faith in me.

To Randal Malone-My thanks for all of his help and understanding and
for being instrumental in getting this book published. He is a dear friend who
cares in so many ways. Thank you, Randy.

To Roy Thorson-Who, I said before, did all the restoration of photos that
added so much to this book. He was super kind and worked so hard to make
them look so good. I am most grateful. Thank you, Roy!

To Bernie Miller and David McFarland-Who gave me friendship when it
was needed the most. Thank you both so much.

To Dodi Williams-My secretary for 26 years, who helped me in so many
ways. I would write, she would read and then type what I had written. We went
on like this for months. She is a super friend and I would be lost without her.

To my wonderful daughter, Noopy-Who gave me the courage to write
this book, and who, with her computer, made it all work out correctly. She's a
very special daughter and I am so proud of her.

To Larry Jones-President of TV Land, who was the one who made sure I
got my star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He has always remembered me in so
many ways. Thanks, Larry, you are very special!

To Angelique Cain Galskis-Who knew what I wanted to write and guided
me through every step of the way. I am grateful and cannot thank her enoughand to everyone at The University Press of Kentucky who helped me, my deepest
gratitude!

This book is dedicated to Frank Curley, my brother, who passed away on July 19,
2002. He was a kind, considerate, wonderful husband and father. Everyone loved
him. He was an excellent high school teacher whose pupils adored him. He had a
marvelous sense of humor and I had always thought that he would have been in
show business. I will miss him; I will always love him-he was my brother!
