His arms tightened around my waist. Mine did the same around his shoulders. And by mutual need, we began to move faster. My hips ground back and forth. Then he began thrusting up into me as well. Harder and faster we moved, until I was crying out as a feeling unlike any other built through me, and he groaned, eyes still fixed on mine, the look in them telling me he felt the same.

His face was quickly changing. Becoming more wild—animalistic. It was like something primal was happening within him, even as my own pleasure began to spike to a peak. My eyes widened. I moved harder and faster. And then I couldn’t hold on any longer, the sensations too much to bear, and I shuddered as the earth shattering climax overtook me.

His eyes widened as my whole body tightened, and then I felt his own release, for the second time tonight, inside me.

Chapter 9

After we finished, I took
just a moment to hold Archer close to me. For one more moment it was just the two of us—no tape, or Janus, or plans.

Then reality came rushing back
. I scrambled quickly off Archer, rushing to find my clothes. “I didn’t mean to take it that far,” I said, wide eyed.

Archer laughed, considerably more relaxed than I was. “Well I’m not complaining.”

I looked around, wildly—now half dressed, but still missing one very important object. “I only meant to kiss you, that was all. What if this was filmed?”

Archer frowned. “Are you worried about Janus? They can’t be filming this, Josie. You said Christian turned off the security footage.” But he stood up, getting dressed at my insistence anyway.

Finally, I found it. I picked up the small, hand held radio that had fallen from my belongings, slid my blouse over my head and then spoke into the mouthpiece. “The eagle has landed,” I said, depressing the button on the side.

Archer looked at me strangely. Then even stranger still when a voice answered. “Roger that. Closing down the perimeter now.”

A series of loud clunks sounded in quick succession as all access points to the building were locked down from the security control room. That was one of the things I’d done before coming here—spoken to Archer’s security team; borrowed a two–way radio.

“What are you doing?” Archer asked. He moved toward me protectively, shirt still half undone, as if to defend me from something unknown, but that might leap out at any moment.

“Do you still mean what you said before, about trusting me?” I asked.

“Of course.”

I kissed him quickly, then took a deep breath and faced the empty movie set. “I know you’re here!” I called out, voice echoing. “Security has locked all the doors, you can’t get out.”

Archer looked around wildly. “Josie, what are you doing?”

I turned to him. “Did you ever wonder how Janus knew exactly where you were keeping that tape they want, even before they hired me? I mean, they said very specifically that you kept the original on you at all times, and that there was a backup, too.”

Archer frowned.

I nodded. “Yes, that’s been bugging me. Archer…” I hesitated. “I think I was the second spy Janus planted in your organization, not the first. When they put me here, they already knew about the tape—they just couldn’t get to it. And then there were the sex tapes. If I didn’t hand them over, and you didn’t…”

Archer’s eyes widened. “There’s a third party.”

I nodded. “Exactly.” Then I raised my voice again. “I know you’re there,” I called. “Have you worked out you can’t escape yet? Try the fire exit, maybe I didn’t think of that!”

My voice lowered. “If your boss was Janus,” I said to Archer, “and you told them that two subjects of interest were meeting, don’t you think they’d want you here filming this to see what we said?”

Archer suddenly blanched. “That’s why you were worried about us being filmed.”

I nodded as my eyes swept the perimeter, looking for movement. “I should have known just kissing you would be impossible, once I saw you again.” I flicked him a glance, and smiled. “At least this one will never see the light of day.”

Movement caught my eye near the fire exit. I raised my voice again. “You almost got away with it, you know. You made just one, tiny little mistake. The newspapers said there was only one sex tape. But you knew there were two. You’re trapped,” I called. “The game’s up. It’s time to man up and face the consequences.”

Archer moved to stride toward where I was focused, but I held him back as the darkness by the fire exit began to separate. A tall shadow, all knees and elbows, detached itself slowly from the rest. It stepped into the light. Beside me, I heard Archer gasp.

“Hello Christian,” I said. “It’s time we had a little talk.”
