I have no idea what Drew is up to,
but Sierra told me to trust him. We’re upstairs in my room and I’m changing out
of my wedding dress. Sierra hands me a summer dress that looks really
comfortable. I start to change my lingerie but she tells me to keep it on. She
assures me Drew will love it.
“Where is he taking me, Sierra?
You seem to know what’s going on.” I try using a pouty face, but it doesn’t
work.
“You’ll find out soon. Just go
with it and enjoy the fact he wants to surprise you. You don’t have to be in
control all the time.”
We both laugh because we know
that is simply not true.
“Do I need to pack a bag or
anything?”
“It’s all taken care of. Now go
downstairs and see your man.” Sierra’s is laughing as she pushes me out the
door.
I find Drew waiting at the bottom
of the stairs, again. He looks so handsome in his suit and I know I’ll never
walk down these stairs again without remembering this day. He’s smiling and
reaches for my hand. I try to get him to tell me what’s going on, but he
refuses. There’s a black stretch limo in the driveway and I smile as we rush to
get inside. Sierra waves from the steps and I wave back as the limo driver
closes the door.
Drew is on me before I can get
scooted over in the seat. He kisses me passionately as I lay back in the seat.
He crawls on top of me and I can feel his erection against my hip. I reach up
and put my hands in his hair, pulling gently just the way he likes. He’s
growling as he bites my lower lip. I really don’t want to have sex in the back
of a limo, so I try to calm things down. I start rubbing his scalp, kissing him
slowly. Drew puts his forehead against mine and takes a deep breath.
“Lily, I can’t tell you how happy
I am right now. This day was perfect and I have you to thank for that. You are
the most beautiful woman on the planet, and I can’t believe you’re mine. I love
you and will never stop trying to make you happy.”
“I feel the same way, Drew. It’s
been a perfect day. It would be even more perfect if you’d tell me where we’re
going. The suspense is killing me.” We both laugh. Drew understands my control
issues, so I know he’s doing this on purpose.
“I’ll tell you we’re going to the
airport. After that, I’m keeping you in suspense. I know you don’t like that,
but this will probably be the last time I’ll get to surprise you like this.
Please, let me have this one, please?” He looks at me with the best puppy dog
eyes he can make. I sigh, knowing there’s no way I can resist.
“Fine, I won’t ask any more
questions.”
“Good, now just sit back and
enjoy the ride. I think there’s probably some champagne in here if you’d like a
glass.”
“Oh, I think I’m going to need
one if you expect me to not ask what’s going on.” He laughs out loud and
reaches into a side panel, pulling out a bottle of Dom
Pérignon
.
Nothing like the good stuff.
We settle in with our drinks and
hold hands while the limo takes us away from Drew’s house and to the airport. I
guess I should start thinking about it as my house, too. I’ll have to get my
apartment packed up when we get back from wherever we’re going and break my
lease. What I thought was going to be a wedding for show is turning into a real
marriage. I can’t help the smile on my face. I look at Drew and he’s smiling,
too. I kiss him, trying to let him know how I feel through the kiss. He’s
become my whole world and I’m going to hang on as tight as I can, making sure
we’re both happy forever.
Epilogue
Lily
Once in the air, Drew finally
told me we’re going to Hawaii for our honeymoon. He said he wanted to take me someplace
romantic. He didn’t disappoint. We’ve been here for a week and we have another
week to go. We’ve been snorkeling, gone on volcano tours, eaten at a luau, and
I even tried to learn how to surf. That didn’t go well. Drew made me feel
better by making love to me for hours that night.
This morning Drew is up early and
I can’t figure out what’s going on. He’s acting really strange and won’t talk
to me about it. I’m getting out of the shower when he comes in.
“Drew, what is going on with you?
You’re like a caged animal today. Is something wrong?”
“No, nothing’s wrong. I just have
a surprise planned, but I’m not sure how you’re going to react to it. Do you
think you can have an open mind when I take you out today?”
That’s really suspicious, but
he’s never done anything to hurt me. I can play along. “Sure, I can be
open-minded. When do we leave, and do I need to wear anything in particular,
like a swimsuit or sneakers?”
I can see the tension leave his
shoulders. “Nothing in particular, whatever you like is fine. We need to leave
in about ten minutes if you think you can be ready.”
“No problem. I’ll meet you in the
living room.”
Drew got us this beautiful suite
that’s like an apartment. It has a bedroom, living room, small kitchenette, and
a deck that faces the ocean. I’ve spent many hours out there reading and
listening to the waves while Drew napped. This is one of the most beautiful
places I’ve ever been and it’s going to be so hard to leave next week. We’ve
had such a wonderful time soaking in the Hawaiian sights and sounds. I don’t
know what he could have planned for today. I thought we’d done all the touristy
stuff.
I walk into the living room a few
minutes later wearing a sundress and sandals, with my hair pulled back since
it’s still wet. There wasn’t enough time to style it properly and I hope that’s
okay. Drew smiles in a way that makes me want to rip his clothes off and make
love to him on the floor. I can feel my panties get wet and I shake my head.
I’m guessing there isn’t time for that now.
“You just got wet, didn’t you?”
How
does he do that?
“No.” I lie. He shakes his head
and takes my hand, leading me out of the suite.
When we get to the lobby, he asks
the concierge to get us a cab. Once inside he tells the driver to take us to
1250 Punchbowl Street. I have no idea what that is, but the cab driver smiles
and takes off. Drew’s leg is bouncing and he looks like he’s about to jump out
of skin. It doesn’t take long to reach our destination. Drew pays the driver
and pulls me out of the cab. I’m looking at a large office building. Drew holds
my hand as we walk in the door. He stops before an office marked 101 Health
Department, and I’m really confused now.
“Lily, I know
you’re probably wondering what the heck we’re doing here, but I want you to
hear me out.”
“Okay, Drew. I’m
listening.”
He gets down on
one knee in front of me. I’m pretty sure he’s lost his mind.
“Lily, will you marry me?
For real this time?
Will you legally marry me in Hawaii,
today?”
Oh. My.
God.
He wants to make it official.
“Yes! Yes, Drew! Let’s make it
official!” I’m screaming now and people are staring as they walk by, but I
don’t care. Drew jumps up and pulls me in for a hug. He twirls me and we’re
laughing like idiots.
“Let’s go get our marriage
license, so we can make it legal.” He smiles and takes my hand, leading me into
the office.
Once we have all the paperwork
completed and stamped, we leave the office we head back to the hotel. Drew’s
still not telling me what else he has planned but I decide to just go with the
flow.
When we get back to our suite,
there’s a beautiful white gauze dress lying next to a new shirt and pants on
our bed.
“You’ve really thought of
everything haven’t you?” I smile.
“I have. We’re going to be
married on the beach in an hour. No
shoes,
and just
these simple clothes are all that are required. Unless you want to wear the bra
and panties you wore on our wedding night for me again. I won’t complain about
that.”
“You’re a maniac, you know that?
I’ll see what I can do. Can I at least get dressed in private? Give me a chance
to surprise you?”
Drew raises an eyebrow. “Sure,
you can do that. I’ll get dressed in the other room and I’ll meet you down in
the lobby in an hour. How does that sound?”
“That should be fine. I’ll see you
then.” He gives me a quick kiss and leaves. I close and lock the door because I
know how sneaky he can be and I don’t want him to peek.
I go into the bathroom to fix my
hair and makeup. I can’t believe he’s done this. This is what I’ve waited for
my whole life. I’m going to be legally married. I shake my head and try to
concentrate on the task at hand.
Once I’m satisfied with my
appearance, I put the dress on. It fits very well but it’s slightly sheer. I
decide to go commando to surprise Drew. Anything I wear underneath would show
anyway, so why not? I leave the suite and make my way down to the lobby to
marry the man of my dreams.

Drew
I can’t help but pace the
lobby. I know Lily will come down eventually, but I’m not being very patient. I
just want to make this official and come back to make love to my lawfully
wedded wife. I’m just about to go get her when she walks out of the elevator.
She’s beautiful in the flowing white dress I picked out. She makes her way over
to me and it looks like she’s walking on air, the way the dress moves. I take
her hand and lead her out to the beach, where the
officiant
is waiting for us.
There are people milling around
on the beach, but I don’t care. This is our moment and I’m grateful to have it
in this gorgeous setting. We stand in the shade in front of the man the hotel
arranged to marry us. I told him we just wanted something very simple and he
agreed. He asks us to face each other and repeat the same vows we said to each
other last week. Lily smiles the whole time and I do, too. It’s perfect and
when he tells me to kiss the bride, I hear applause. I look around and there
are a few people watching our ceremony and clapping for us. I grab Lily around
the waist and dip her like you would on a dance floor, placing another kiss on
her luscious lips. When we stand up, the
officiant
congratulates us and hands me the signed marriage certificate. All I have to do
is mail it to the Health Department and it will be official.
“We did it, Lily. We’re now
legally man and wife.”
“I’m so happy, Drew. Thank you
for arranging all of this.”
“You’re welcome. Now, I want to
take my wife to bed, what do you say?”
“I say I do!” I pick her up and
carry her off the beach. I don’t put her down until we’re safely tucked into
our suite.
She looks at me as she leads me
into the bedroom. “I have a surprise for you, Drew.”
“You do? What is it?”
“You’ll find out when you get my
dress off.”
I reach down to the hem and
slowly peel it off. I find her completely naked underneath.
“Oh, Lily, this is the best
present I’ve ever opened. Thank you for my surprise.” She giggles and I toss
her gently on the bed, crawling on top of her and kissing her senseless.
Yes, this is going to be a
fantastic life.
