She was the sexiest damn woman he’d ever
laid eyes on. Standing before him completely exposed and
vulnerable, he couldn’t resist making her watch. He had the
pleasure of watching her come every time, but he knew she wasn’t
aware of how intensely erotic it was to watch her. Now she
knew.

Even after she’d so
exquisitely pried his release from him earlier, Tag couldn’t wait
to fuck her again. Gently maneuvering her until they were closer to
the wall, he reluctantly removed his finger from her sweet, warm
pussy and turned her in his arms until she was backed against the
wall.

Taking a step back, he
slowly removed the rest of his clothes, keeping his eyes on her and
enjoying the feel of her gaze as she followed every movement. There
was something powerful about the way she looked at him, something
reassuring in the way she bit her bottom lip as he easily released
his swollen, stiff cock, stroking it firmly as he stepped out of
his slacks.

As soon as he was naked,
he closed the gap between them once more, lifting her right leg and
positioning the throbbing head at her opening before thrusting one
time, without warning, deep inside of her. He had to have her, and
he couldn’t wait another second to feel her wet heat wrapped around
his aching cock.

Sucking in a breath, he
held her leg higher, pistoning his hips as he drove his cock deeper
and harder into the tight, wet depths of her pussy over and over
until he was consumed by the intense friction.

As much as he was scared
to admit it, Tag had never felt this way in the arms of any woman.
He wasn’t prepared to give himself fully to her or anyone else, but
he feared his choice was being ripped out of his grasp each and
every time he touched her.

Using his free hand, he tilted her chin
until their eyes met, never slowing his hips as he pounded inside
of her over and over, harder and faster. “Come for me,
McKenna.”

He was on the verge of
exploding, but he refused to do so until she was right there with
him. The connection was made between their bodies, but as he stared
into her eyes, Tag knew there was a deeper connection than that.
Whatever was consuming him was consuming her, as well.

Come for me!” he growled
the words, barely holding on as her sweet heat pulsed around him.
“Fucking come for me.”

Her eyes closed, and she
moaned, her pussy throbbing and pulsing around his dick as he
followed her over, freefalling into something that scared the shit
out of him.

*****

No rest for the
weary.

Tag was beginning to realize that was
McKenna’s motto.

Saturday morning,
officially their time together should’ve been over, but he couldn’t
bring himself to question her or him at the moment. Instead, Tag
found himself being rushed by the red haired vixen insisting that
he shower and get dressed because she needed to meet with the
McCoy’s.

All of them.

Apparently Samantha McCoy
had called and left McKenna a message directly, insisting that she
meet with her as soon as possible. According to McKenna’s
explanation of the voicemail, Sam didn’t sound all that happy. Tag
figured Logan must’ve shared the dreaded news with her.

Now they were driving to
the restaurant that Sam requested they meet at for
lunch.

Did she say anything
else?” Tag was curious to know exactly what he was walking into.
He’d never known Samantha to panic, yet he couldn’t very well blame
her in this case if she did.

No. She was surprisingly
calm, but asked that I meet with her and Logan. She mentioned Luke
would be there as well.”

Well, this was bound to be
loads of fucking fun.

By the time they reached
the restaurant, McKenna was drumming her fingers on her thigh and
Tag found her anxiety a little amusing. Not that he would tell her
as much. Nor was he going to reassure her that things were going to
be fine because honestly, he didn’t know whether that was true or
not.

Stephen Crawford currently
had Logan and Luke by the balls, and unless either of them was
willing to give in, Tag didn’t see how this was going to work out
in anyone’s best interest. Although, he had a good time watching
McKenna try to come up with a way that wouldn’t hurt anyone in the
long run.

As much as he liked her
positive attitude, he was beginning to wonder about her naivety at
the same time.

Granted, he also liked
that he was out of the hot seat for the time being. Being the
lawyer, everyone generally looked to him to fix the problem. He
didn’t have a quick fix for this one, and if he had to guess,
although no one had mentioned it yet, Tag was almost certain he was
in those pictures, as well.

That thought gave him
pause. He wasn’t sure whether anyone intended to show McKenna those
photos, but he was suddenly worried that they would. The
relationship he shared previously with Samantha and Logan was
between the three of them, and he didn’t regret a single minute he
spent with them, but he wasn’t sure McKenna would be as open minded
as he was if she saw them. He remembered the way she had run out of
the meeting room after speaking to Sam for the first time. However
she had learned about his relationship with them, she hadn’t been
happy about it.

Several minutes later,
they were seated at a table in one of the sectioned off areas at
Sam’s favorite restaurant. They had a private room, which was
definitely a plus because the conversation he was sure would be had
shouldn’t be heard by others. Considering there were more than just
a few people at the table, it was guaranteed not to be a quiet
conversation either.

Tag waited for McKenna to
take a seat before sitting in the chair beside her. As expected,
the entire clan was there: Sam, Logan, Luke, Sierra, Cole, Alex,
and Ashleigh; pretty much everyone who had something to lose if
Stephen and Susan followed through on their threats.

Thanks for meeting with
us,” Sam greeted. “The least we could do was buy you both
lunch.”

Tag noticed the misery shining in both
Logan’s and Luke’s eyes.

No need,” McKenna
responded, pulling her napkin from the table and into her
lap.

Tag fully expected to see
her squirm under the scrutiny of the fourteen eyes that were
resting on her at the moment, but she wasn’t. She was as poised and
calm as he’d ever seen her.

I’m going to start out by
apologizing to everyone at this table,” Sam said in a desperate
tone. “Had I known about this, I can assure you, I would’ve tried
to come up with a way where no one else could’ve gotten hurt by my
actions.”

Sierra immediately reached over and took
Sam’s hand. “Honey, I think I should be apologizing. I’m the one
Susan retaliated against. I’m just so sorry you had to get dragged
into this mess.”

Tag fought the urge to
roll his eyes. He knew how close these women were and how
overprotective Luke and Logan were, but shit, they could sit here
all day and wish this away, but it wasn’t going to make a damn bit
of difference.

There was a brief lull in conversation as
the waitress took their orders before disappearing once more and
shutting the door behind her.

I’m sure I don’t need to
fill anyone in on what we’re looking at, although I’m still
disappointed that my husband felt the need to keep me in the dark,”
Sam said, addressing the entire table.

Logan didn’t move, nor did he look at Sam.
The hard line of his mouth said it all. He wasn’t at all sorry he’d
kept this from her, and if Tag had to guess, he wished at this
point he’d never said anything.

Does anyone have any
suggestions on how we can fix this?” Alex asked, looking none too
happy about being there.

Although Alex wouldn’t be
directly affected, his company would. Not to mention, XTX was going
to get a lot of heat should this hit the front page headlines.
Xavier Thomas was not going to be a happy man, nor would any of the
other clients who had originally been looking to hire Sam in the
future. And that meant Alex and Ashleigh both would be in the line
of fire, even if inadvertently.

I’m sure Logan and Luke
informed you that we addressed the members, but we got nowhere with
them. They aren’t willing to help even though this is going to
affect them just as much as it will you,” McKenna spoke up. “I’m
not sure that really sank in with them at the time.”

Oh, they knew exactly
what the hell we were talking about,” Luke barked. “They’re just a
bunch of selfish bastards that think they’re above everyone else.”
Luke’s anger was palpable.

Were you able to find
anything on the videos that might help?” McKenna asked
Alex.

Nothing that we didn’t
already know and nothing the media wouldn’t expect from a lowlife
playboy like Stephen Crawford.”

His credibility is highly
questionable,” Logan said. “But that isn’t going to make a
difference once this gets out. The press will forget him and Susan
in an instant, but they’ll be all over us immediately.”

I think it’s best if I
just come clean and accept responsibility for my actions,” Sam
declared, glancing back and forth at all the faces focused on her.
“You don’t know how truly sorry I am that there isn’t anything I
can do to slow this runaway train, but I would if I
could.”

You know,” Ashleigh
interrupted, “I’ve always believed in telling the truth, but what
if we head this off by reporting that those are fakes. You know,
altered to suit the needs of those two?”

Everyone at the table stopped and turned
toward Ashleigh. Tag fought to keep from laughing when Alex’s mouth
dropped open as he stared at his future wife.

Ashleigh Marie!” Sierra
scolded with a laugh. “You’ve been spending way too much time with
us.”

That had the table erupting in laughter.

Well, everyone except for McKenna.

You know, that might just
work,” she stated, glancing around the table. “I’m not saying we
have to out and out lie about it, but what if we spin a story that
gets people questioning them even more than they already
are.”

Like what?” Luke
asked.

I don’t know.” McKenna
shook her head briefly. “I haven’t thought it completely through
yet. But, I think it’s time we take some of the attention off of
them, and put it back where it belongs.”

Didn’t you already try
that with the interviews?” Tag asked.

It was a good idea,
provided they could stay within the realms of the truth as much as
possible because the last thing they needed was to make this fucked
up situation any worse.

He just feared they were already heading
down that path.

Chapter
Thirty

What do you mean it won’t
work?” McKenna asked as she and Tag walked into his private room.
Lunch had lasted longer than they expected, but neither of them had
anything else pressing to do. Well, except try to divert a disaster
waiting to happen.

That’s exactly what I
mean, McKenna,” Tag retorted angrily.

She wasn’t quite sure when he stopped
supporting the cause, but as soon as they got into his car, he had
torn into her about spearheading this little clusterfuck. His
words, not hers.

Well, I think it will
work,” she answered, making sure he heard the irritation she was
currently strangled by.

Throughout all of the
conversations at lunch, he hadn’t said much and when he did, he
didn’t contribute either way. Now she knew why.

Of course you
do.”

What the hell is that
supposed to mean?” She immediately turned to face him, not even
stopping to set her purse down.

You’ve got stars in your
eyes, darlin’. You think everything is going to work out when you
should be stepping back and asking yourself why you even care. This
doesn’t affect you, but for some reason you’re sticking your pretty
little neck out when it’d be in your best interest just to keep
your mouth shut.”

McKenna flinched like he
had just slapped her. And she felt as though he had. She was too
dumbfounded to come up with a retort. What was he trying to say?
She didn’t belong here? These people didn’t deserve her help? Or
was he just worried she was getting too involved, and it might just
infringe on his life once she walked out, which she should have
done first thing that morning, but she hadn’t.

That thought had her stomach churning.

Staring back at him,
McKenna realized that’s exactly what he was saying. She was getting
too close, and he wasn’t comfortable with it. Somewhere along the
way, in the last seven days, McKenna had started believing that Tag
might actually care about her. And what a fucking mistake that had
been.

How could she have been so naive?

Taking a detour over to
the couch, McKenna picked up her laptop and then went straight to
the door. She was leaving. She didn’t have to put up with this shit
from him and as far as the contract was concerned, they had both
fulfilled their end of the deal. With the exception of her
amendment. But looking at Tag now, she didn’t give a shit about
that anymore.
