“It is a long drive, but…who cares?” Sophie smiled, being the happiest she’d been in a long time. Yes, she had issues with trusting people but she was certain in time her heart would be healed and her bad past would become nothing but a distant memory. Her heart found its home and her innocence of love, now it was time to sit back, relax and enjoy being loved by Calvin.

“Can I hold Kacey, Mummy,” Sabastian hyped up.

“Of course you can, but you need to sit secure on a sofa.”

Sabastian ran to the sofa. He immediately sat right back and hit his thighs. Sophie smiled and with care placed Kacey on his lap where he held her. Sophie listened to him telling her all about school and how he was taking part in sports day and he will win a race for his little sister.

“He is so sweet with her,” Caroline spoke while they were sipping on their drinks, stood watching in the kitchen, where Sabastian was kept a close eye on.

“He is. How are things with you and Calvin, the last time I saw you it looked nasty, but then you said you were on your way back from London, and if possible to arrange a meeting with us,” Caroline added.

“Yeah, I was fuming with him that day he met Sabastian, not related to any of this. I just got my wires crossed, like I appear to be doing all the time recently. I think I am terribly insecure and need guidance and to develop trust.”

“That is pretty hard when you have been hurt so many times, its understandable how you feel. You have been through so much, and I believe I don’t know the half of it, but that is your business. Could I ask you one question?” Sophie peered into her eyes. “When you left us with Sabastian did you go home to your parents?”

Sophie felt her heart sink into the pit of her stomach. She licked her lips, unsure if she could tell the truth…but she had nothing to hide anymore she trusted Caroline with her son, and her heart.

“Yes I did, only my Mum slammed the door in my face and I ended up in a refuge for a few weeks,” she told her.

“I knew it…I am so sorry, you should have come back to us. We felt terrible when you walked away from Sabastian and we always knew there wasn’t something adding up with you and your parents, as you hardly spoke of them or even made an effort to visit them.”

“My Mum suspected I had an abortion, and I feared telling her the truth.”

“And you never told Calvin?” Sophie shook her head from side-to-side. “My goodness, I cannot begin to express how you felt back in those days. I’m so sorry, Sophie.”

“Don’t worry about it. It’s happened and now I believe my life is getting back on track. I needed those bad things to make me see the real world and what it was capable off, and trust me not pretty, but, I’m here and very lucky,” Sophie added, aching throughout her body.

“My parents have split,” she told her.

“Oh really, gosh, there is a lot of stuff going on is this anything to do with…”

Sophie cut her short, “Yes, Dad never knew the truth about why I left home. I don’t think Mum did to be honest, the fact was, I hated her for making me try and kill my baby and I couldn’t stand being near her, even looking at her made me want to smack her.”

“My God…and your Mum doesn’t know?”

“She does now.”

“And your Dad knows the truth?”

“Yes, and he was horrified. All is good now and everything is slowly getting back on track, just annoying it took so bloody long.”

“I agree with that. And you and Calvin are good?” Caroline asked.

“Yes, we’re fine. I have to try and live without him for a few weeks, until he gets shipped back up north to run the branches up here,” she told her engaging in eye contact.

“Wow, really? He’s moving up here to be closer to you that is so magical, how sweet.” Caroline smiled.

“Yeah, it is, he has everything planned.” She giggled.

“I bet he has, I bet he’s a man who likes to be organized and likes to know whether he’s coming or going.” Caroline laughed.

She saw Mike and Calvin re-enter the room after Mike had been showing him his new sports car. Calvin walked toward her wrapping his arms around her waist and kissed her on her cheek. Sophie smiled and glanced at Caroline and Mike watching their reactions.

“I think it’s time to tell the news,” Calvin whispered in her ear.

Sophie walked to collect her daughter from Sabastian. She walked Kacey to her pram with her being fast asleep, clearly her big brother had the magic touch. She placed her bundle into the pram that Calvin had brought in earlier.

“We have some news,” Calvin announced suddenly and walked to stand beside her.

Sabastian looked up. Caroline and Mike gazed at them.

“I’m moving back to York, in a few weeks and then we are making massive plans for the future. I have asked Sophie…” he announced, shaking as Sophie looked at him smiling, her nerves going crazy. “I have asked Sophie to marry me and she had accepted,” he told them without pausing.

“Wow, really, that is so cool, my mum and dad are getting married,” Sabastian said and jumped up to cuddle them both.

Sophie was filled with happiness and love, for the first time in her life things were going perfectly, no more pain, and no more heartache, just being a perfect family, if that was possible, but she would give it her best shot.

Calvin kissed her softly on the lips, the joy coming from their son as he skipped around the room.

“Can I go to your wedding,” Sabastian stopped to ask.

“Of course you can, you could be my Paige boy if you like,” Sophie rejoiced when he raced back into her arms and they all embraced a tight cuddle.

“I’m so happy, Mummy!”

She smiled, proud to be where she stood, holding her son, her daughter only a few feet away, her fiancée close with his arm wrapped around her waist, it was perfect, it was their innocence of love.

They released one another. Sophie wiped away the tear that had escaped her eye. She couldn’t remove her smile. She lifted her head to gaze at Caroline and Mike seeing them holding one another’s hand tightly. Sophie gulped. She glanced at Sabastian. Caroline stared at her, hitching her breath, Sophie knew exactly what the couple were thinking.
What about Sabastian?

Sophie smiled at the couple, to then see Sabastian talking to Kacey, excited about the near future. In her heart she wanted her boy back, back with her and being a real family, only somehow, sometime, someone would end up hurt.

But, now their lives were complete and nothing could get in the way and break that, could it?

Holly's writing career started back when she was a child, the only time she liked school was when the teacher suggested writing an essay. She recalls an English lesson the teacher said
'Holly you write to much, please don't write so much, I only need ten pages not thirty'
Holly at the time had been heart broken, so after that she handed in ten pages and once marked she went home to finish the work.

Holly never lacks imagination which never ceases to amaze her. When writing she isn't committed to one genre she likes to move around wherever her mood takes her.

Holly had been published with Secret Cravings Publishing company having six books  published with them her erotic series and latest release a sweet adult romance, the publisher announced they were closing their doors  and therefore Holly had to find homes for her books. After serious thinking she has decided on self-publishing.
