Brendan moved his fingers in such a way that had Isela panting and crying out, clinging to him.

“Yeah, that’s it. Come for me, baby,” he rumbled.

Before her body stopped contracting around his fingers, he picked her up, setting her on the counter. He parted her legs and stepped in between them. She reached for him, circling her fingers around his length, guiding him inside her.

Brendan tried to move slowly, to make it last, but his passion took over with a fervor he couldn’t explain. Repeatedly, he drove himself into her. She leaned back, wrapping her legs around him, drawing him in deeper with every thrust. Her body tightened around him, pumping him. She arched her back, moaning in pleasure. Brendan reveled in the way Isela’s orgasm squeezed and milked him until he came along with her. Flashes of light and color exploded inside his head, the intensity blinding. There was nothing else, just him and Isela and this incredible release they shared.

Isela had never imagined, in all the years she’d sworn off men, that anything could ever feel as good as the way Brendan made her feel. The things he did to her body made her come alive. He created a smoldering heat within her with his kiss that burst into flames at his touch, searing her with a need for him, a hunger that couldn’t be sated.

Still sitting on the counter, she clung to him, her hair still damp. He smoothed the loose strands off of her forehead. Taking Isela’s face in his hands, he tenderly kissed her flushed cheeks.

“If you keep distracting me like this, I’ll never get dinner on,” Brendan teased.

“Me distract you? I’d say it’s the other way around.”

“I’m not the one who tore our towels off.”

Isela rolled her eyes, laughing. Brendan asked her if she was hungry.

“I could eat,” she said.

He gave her a sinful look. “Good, because you’re going to need all the energy you can get for the night I have in mind.”

She traced a finger down his chest. “Looking forward to it,” she purred.

Brendan helped her off of the counter. After they dressed they made their way to the kitchen. Brendan lit the oven, grabbed the meat and some vegetables from the ice-box, then began rifling through the cupboards.

“What are you looking for?” Isela asked him.

“Seasonings for these...chickeny birds. They’re all different from what I’m used to. I don’t recognize any of the names.”

Isela laughed. “Why don’t you smell them?”

He pointed a finger at her. “Good idea.”

Once he’d gone through all of Maggie’s spices and found the ones he wanted, he sprinkled them over the meat. Isela offered to help, but he shook his head.

“Nope. I want to do this for you. Ever since I got hurt you’ve taken care of me, doing nothing for yourself. I want to do something for you.”

Isela sat down at the table, watching him, loving how his muscles flexed as he worked. She smiled at the way his brows furrowed in concentration. His T-shirt accentuated his perfect shoulders beautifully and the jeans he’d chosen showcased his derriere nicely, giving Isela yet another reason to stare.

Brendan peeled, sliced, and chopped until he was satisfied they had enough vegetables for their meal. He lightly sautéed them while the main dish baked, pleasing his audience.

By the time dinner was ready, Isela’s mouth was watering. The aroma wafting through the kitchen promised the food would be delicious. It was. From the first bite, Isela knew she’d walked right into heaven.

“Oh my goodness, Brendan. This is the most amazing thing I’ve ever put in my mouth.” She smiled wickedly. “Well, the second most amazing thing.”

Brendan couldn’t swallow. Isela’s sexy comment had him recalling the shower they’d shared awhile ago. The pleasure she’d so unselfishly given him made him eager to reciprocate, and sooner rather than later. As his mind wandered back to the image of Isela’s eyes gazing up at him while her soft mouth moved over his hard body, he felt that familiar ache in his groin.

He found himself tempted to abandon their meal, sweep everything to the floor, and take her right there on the table. The fantasy played through his mind, heightening his arousal.

“Brendan?” Isela said. He turned, blinking his eyes.

“I’m sorry. What did you say?” he asked.

“Nothing. You just had this look on your face. So intense. What were you thinking about?”

Brendan finally managed to swallow. He gazed into Isela’s eyes heatedly. He took her hand, kissing it. He lowered his voice. “I was thinking about the shower we took before dinner. Of how much I loved it, how hot it was, and how much I want you. Just thinking about it has me all worked up again. I can’t wait to return the gesture.”

Isela gulped, nearly choking on her food. She said nothing at first, but merely returned his gaze. She dabbed her mouth with her napkin. “I loved doing that for you. I’m glad you liked it—”

“Loved it...so much.”

She blushed and dropped her gaze. “I just wanted to make you happy, Brendan. You talk about returning the gesture. You’ve made me so happy, I can’t find the words to describe it.” She lifted her gaze to reconnect with his. “I guess I was trying to find some way to show you.”

He kissed her hand again. “Isela, I love you. Just being with you makes me happy. No one’s ever made me feel the way you do. I’ve never felt this kind of passion in my whole life. All I want to do is bring you pleasure.”

Isela stood up and circled round the table. She bent over, getting eye level with Brendan. “You do. I love you too. You have no idea how much.”

He pulled her onto his lap. “I think I do.” He kissed her with a newfound passion. Running her fingers through his hair, she returned the kiss, their tongues swirling together, tasting each other as if it were their first one.

“How about we finish our dinner later,” Brendan rumbled. “Right now, the only thing I want to eat is you.”

Isela nodded, scrambling off his lap. He took her by the hand and led her to their bedroom. As soon as they crossed the threshold, Brendan pinned Isela to the wall covering her mouth with his. His kiss was hot and demanding.

Never taking his mouth from hers, Brendan began unbuttoning her shirt. He pushed it off of her shoulders and onto the floor.

Brendan stepped away long enough to pull his shirt off, tossing it behind him. He stared down at Isela’s lips, swollen and pouty from his kiss, and couldn’t wait to taste them again.

Brendan kissed her again, but softer, more slowly, savoring her mouth. She leaned into him, offering her breasts, which he eagerly accepted. She pulled away and whispered in a fevered pitch, “Please, Brendan, make love to me.”

He kissed her collarbone then nuzzled her ear, nibbling on the lobe. “Baby, you’ve got me so hard, I think I might explode.”

Isela glanced down at his massive erection straining the seams of his jeans. Using both hands, she unsnapped and unzipped him. He wore no underwear, so she gingerly pushed down his pants, freeing him into her hands.

Brendan sucked in a breath when she began stroking him, intermittently grazing her fingertips over the head and underneath.

“Isela, please, take off those pants and get into bed. I need to feel you, to taste you. I need to be inside you.”

Isela pushed her pants down, kicking them to the side. Brendan did the same with his. She climbed into bed, making room for Brendan. He swept her into his arms and kissed her.

She drew his bottom lip between her own, sucking gently then running her tongue over it. He moaned into her mouth. She reached down taking hold of him, lightly rubbing the tip of the head, spreading the moisture gathering there.

Effortlessly, as if she weighed nothing, Brendan hoisted her over his face, rolling onto his back. He positioned her where he wanted, dipping his tongue in and out of the moist folds over his face. She shuddered, making a soft mewling noise. He caressed her bottom while he continued lapping her with his tongue, swirling it inside of her, sucking on the tender lips.

Brendan knew the exact moment Isela climaxed. She began to tremble, then ground into his face, her hips bucking. She gripped the headboard and screamed with pleasure.

Before the spasms of her orgasm let up, Brendan grabbed hold of her hips, pushing her down and impaling her with his heavy shaft. Isela cried out. He thrust forward, reigniting the fire within her.

He continued driving himself into her, over and over. Her body contracted around him, squeezing him, pulling him closer and closer to the sweet release he sought. Isela cried out once more, arching into him, clutching the bedcovers.

Brendan gazed up at her writhing on top of him, her breasts covered in a fine sheen of perspiration. The sight of her riding him, along with the pressure of her body uniting with his, sent him spiraling over the height of his climax, spilling his seed into the woman he loved.

Isela collapsed on top of Brendan’s chest, out of breath, spent. Her body felt gloriously used, her muscles quivering with fatigue. Brendan encased her in his arms, speaking words of his love in her ear. She slid off of him, curling up at his side with him cocooned around her.

He kissed her temple. “I could never get enough of you, my love,” he whispered.

Lying there in his arms, Isela wondered if she dared believe it. Could he consider staying with her? Would he? Had he thought about a future between them, here in Celio or in his world? Should she hope for such a dream to come true? She drifted off to sleep with visions of her and Brendan holding each other long into the future.

Chapter Twenty-Eight

Isela woke up to sunlight streaming in through the window. Brendan lay next to her, his arm draped over her hip. When she tried to slide out of bed, he rolled onto his back, flopping his arm over his eyes. Isela raked her eyes over his body, admiring the hard planes and firm curves.

She pulled Brendan’s T-shirt over her head, noting how it held his scent. She tiptoed to the bathroom, taking care not to wake him. Her body felt as though she’d been thrown from the roof. She giggled, hugging herself when she recalled the reasons for her soreness.

After freshening up, Isela returned to the bedroom. Brendan stirred, reaching for her.

“Isela?” he called out groggily.

“I’m here, Brendan.”

“Come back to bed. I need you to warm me up. I’m cold.”

“Oh, you are not.” She gazed down at his waist and then below. The tent he’d made with the covers was most impressive, especially considering it had been done with no hands. Isela pointed to it. “In fact, I’d say you were pretty damn hot.”

Brendan chuckled. “Not my fault the woman I love fires me up like this.”

“How can you possibly want any more? I swear you’re insatiable.”

“Yes I am,” he said, reaching for her. Snagging her wrist, he pulled her on top of him. “When it comes to you.”

Isela sat up, straddling Brendan. She crossed her arms, grabbing hold of the bottom of the T-shirt she’d borrowed, pulling it over her head. Her ample breasts sprang free, much to Brendan’s delight, judging by the look on his face. He reached up and tweaked a nipple, licking his lips as the rosy bud hardened and the surrounding skin puckered.

Brendan flipped Isela onto her back, hovering over her. Pinning her wrists to the bed, he leaned down and flickered his tongue across the hardened peaks of Isela’s breasts, first one then the other. He took one into his mouth, sucking greedily. She arched and moaned. He traced the pads of his fingers over her skin, trailing down between her legs. His breath came out in a hiss as he slid two fingers inside her.

“God, Isela, you’re already so hot and wet.” He pulled his fingers out and sucked on them. “You taste so good.”

Brendan guided himself inside her. He made love to her slowly, deliberately. They stroked and caressed each other’s bodies until they came together, the waves of their orgasms crashing over them, leaving them both breathless.

Isela awakened several hours later to the sound of voices. She sat straight up in bed. “Brendan, wake up. I think Maggie and Darrios are back.” She jumped out of bed, frantically searching for her clothes. “Oh no, oh no, oh no,” she muttered.

“Isela, what’s wrong?” Brendan asked. “Maggie isn’t going to come in here. Besides, I think she knows we’re sleeping together.”

“No, Brendan. Don’t you remember? We got so caught up last night, we left the kitchen a mess. We have to clean that up.”

“Oh shit, you’re right. Nothing like being obvious.”

He threw the covers back and swung his feet to the floor just as Isela tossed him his pants. Isela smoothed her hair down and hurried out of the bedroom with Brendan, trying to look presentable.

Brendan slipped into the kitchen sheepishly with Isela right behind him. Darrios and Maggie stood over the table, littered with the half-eaten meal, grinning like idiots.

“So how was dinner?” Darrios asked with a smirk.

“I...we...it was...” Brendan stammered, his face reddening. Isela stared at the floor.

Trying to keep a straight face, Maggie said, “My goodness. It looks like your meal got interrupted. What in the world happened?”

Brendan shot Isela a look and then let his gaze drop to the floor too. Darrios and Maggie burst out laughing. Brendan’s head snapped up. He narrowed his eyes.

“Ah, did we get a little carried away, perhaps?” Darrios asked.

“We were going to clean up. It’s just...”

Maggie and Darrios exchanged looks.

“No need to explain. We understand perfectly. Don’t we, Darrios?” Maggie said, bending to pick up a plate. Darrios slapped her bottom, playfully.

“You bet we do. I’m guessing by the looks of things everybody had fun.”

“We are sooo not talking about this,” Brendan said.

Darrios clamped his hand onto Brendan’s shoulder. “Just having a little fun with you, brother.”

Isela gathered as many dishes as she could carry and hurried over to the sink without a word. Maggie and Brendan grabbed the remainder of the mess and followed Isela.

“Maggie, we’ve got this. Please, I beg you, go away.”

“You don’t need to be embarrassed, Brendan,” Maggie reassured him. “It’s not like I thought you were a virgin.”
