“Don’t you want to know everything about vampire history? There are some things Eldrich hasn’t told you. If you have sex with me, I’ll tell you everything.”

“It’s not worth losing my dignity which I admit, I have very little of right at this moment.”

“Very well, but if you change your mind, know this, when you to come to me, you must come prepared to spend a night with me, one during which I will have my way with you. And once you come to me, there is no going back.”

“I understand,” she said.

He nodded and left.

Outside the room, Lady Rema screamed.

“Oh for goodness sake, he’s only a naked man!” Lela said.

Lady Rema entered the room. “I may summon my broom after all.”

“Yes, and have it take us both away from here,” Lela said.

“So, what did he say to you? What did he want? My, you look flushed.”

Lela gave Lady Rema a kiss on the cheek and said, “Nothing that matters. Now, let’s try and get some rest before dinner.”

CHAPTER TWENTY-ONE

Nathan led Lela and Lady Rema to their seats in the grandest dining room Lela had ever seen. Elaborate chandeliers hung from the ceiling; tall plants and flowers decorated every corner of the room; the long oval dining table hosted dozens of colorful flower-filled vases. The room’s purple-painted walls adorned with gold sconces. In fact, gold was prominent everywhere she looked. The floor on which they stood was also made of gold!

Lela didn’t know how to process what she was seeing. How had the Kingdom of the Elves acquired so much gold? She’d keep her wits about her, for sure. She’d not let herself panic, even though if she were to be truthful, her insides were already in an uproar. She wanted to take Nathan aside and ask him a horde of questions, most importantly of which was, was he really the God of the Sea? But she did not dare. After all, she and Lady Rema were guests…refugees to be exact and she didn’t want to risk offending Nathan.

The knowledge that he was the God of the Sea, would explain why the other elves kept their distance from him. Gods were unpredictable and vain and yes, even cruel at times. They demanded loyalty and obedience. Ah, to have the power of a god. Lela desired such power, not because of vanity but because having such power would mean she could easily destroy all vampires, except Eldrich, and finally walk on Barmoth soil without fear. Her thoughts shamed her. How could she so easily think of destroying an entire race? Yes, she was ashamed and begged her mind to erase such thoughts.

“We have a wonderful show for you while you eat,” Nathan said, pulling out Lela’s chair.

“Thank you,” Lela said, sitting, her thoughts still on what she almost did with Peter. She cringed and was disgusted by her sexual desires. Eldrich was a passionate lover. Why had she allowed herself to be tempted by another man? She was a sexual being now, there was no denying it. She absolutely loved sex, craved it, and couldn’t imagine her life without it. And she and Eldrich had been apart for over a month. An entire month without him! Without his cock inside of her, without his lips on hers, without his fangs on her neck. It was beginning to take its toll on her. But, she admitted to her wrong-doing and prayed she would never allow such a thing to happen again.

“Lady Rema, you may follow me,” Nathan said.

“May I sit with Lela?”

“We have a special place for you, if you don’t mind,” Nathan said.

Lela’s back stiffened. She did not embrace Nathan’s desire to separate her from Lady Rema.

“How are we to comment on the show if we’re not sitting together?” Lela asked.

Nathan rubbed his forehead, a sign Lela took to mean he was not pleased with her question.

“We’ll chat all about it later,” Lady Rema said to Lela.

“Are you sure you don’t mind?” Lela asked.

Lady Rema winked and nodded.

Lela didn’t like what was happening at all. So far, her experience in the Kingdom of the Elves had proven to be an uncomfortable one in more ways than one!

Nathan escorted Lady Rema away. Lela kept her stare on them.

“Don’t fret about her,” someone said.

Peter was now sitting next to her. Exactly what she didn’t need.

“Aha, the moment of truth has arrived. Now I understand why Nathan insisted in taking Lady Rema. Let me guess. He wants us to bond.”

Peter smiled. “I have no idea of what you speak. And besides, I think we’re past bonding, wouldn’t you agree?”

“I see, well, okay, what’s the plan then? Will you put your fingers inside of my pussy and hope I surrender to your wants right here and now?”

“My, my, you read my mind. That’s exactly what I planned on doing,” he said, grinning.

“I suggest you let the thought escape your mind. I’m not having sex with you.”

“For now, only now. So, what did you decide to do? Did you ask Nathan if he was the God of the Sea? Did you ask him to tell you about vampire history?”

Lela gave Lady Rema a glance. She was sitting on the other side of the table, two blonde male elves on either side of her. If she was nervous, she was hiding it well. From what Lela could see, she seemed to be rather enjoying the company of the elves. She was laughing and whispering into one of the elf’s ears.
Goodness, gracious, elves are seductive beings, indeed.
Lela wondered if they had the power to cast spells; perhaps it wasn’t her fault that she had gone as far as she had with Peter.
Oh, blessed gods, here she was looking for an excuse for her atrocious behavior.

“Lela?” Peter said.

“I’m sorry, yes, you were saying,” she said.

“I asked you if you asked Nathan about his god status.”

“I think you know I didn’t. But, don’t worry I’m planning on talking to him after dinner.”

Music drifted through the room.

“The show is about to start,” Peter said.

The sound of clapping vibrated and Lela wasn’t sure if she should be excited or terrified.

“So exciting!” a female elf, who was sitting next to Peter, said.

“I hope I’m picked tonight,” the male elf seated next to Lela said.

“Picked for what?” Lela asked.

Peter and the two elves laughed.

“We elves are sexual beings. We adore…love, love sex,” Peter said.

“When we’re not indulging in it, we’re thinking of it,” the female elf said.

“We’d go mad without it,” the male elf said.

Lela was definitely not in Barmoth anymore.

“One of us is picked every night,” Peter said.

“And what happens to the person who is chosen?” Lela asked.

“Oh my, why well, everything happens,” Peter said.

“Quiet,” the male elf said, waving his hand in the air. “Nathan is about to choose.”

This can’t be happening! Nathan was standing at the head of the table in the nude.

The music stopped.

Nathan held his hand up. “Welcome, everyone, welcome to tonight’s show.”

Everyone started clapping. Even Lady Rema was clapping.

“Quiet down, now,” Nathan said.

“Oh, please let it be me!” someone yelled.

Nathan laughed. “Settle down. We’ll all know in just a minute. Now then, tonight’s very lucky chosen one is…our guest, Lela.”

Lela nearly fell out of her chair.

“Wow, you’re so lucky,” Peter said.

“Yes, yes, I envy you,” the female elf said.

“Hooray for our guest!” the elves all yelled.

Lela searched Lady Rema’s face for a sign, a sign that meant she had summoned her broom and they were fleeing. Lady Rema had no expression; her face seemed paralyzed.

Lela stood. “Thank you kindly. However, I cannot accept.”

“Is she mad?” someone asked.

“She must be fooling with us,” someone else said.

“You may find yourself being drained by vampires very soon, if you don’t accept,” Peter said.

“But, I can’t accept, I simply can’t.”

“Because of Eldrich?” Peter asked.

“Yes, of course, but not just because of him.”

“Why else?”

“My goodness, your kind can’t expect me to simply lie down and have sex with anyone, a stranger, do they?”

“But you see, we don’t expect that at all. You and I are the show for tonight.”

“What? Have you gone crazy?”

“This is the reason Nathan sent me to you earlier today. We were to get to know each other…to warm up. And, boy did we warm up. But, now, it’s for the real show. It’s time for us to go all the way, to fuck like wild animals and show everyone here what we’re made of.”

“That’s enough. You’re all insane!” Lela said.

“Lela, will you and Peter please come forward. You’re keeping us all waiting is not nice at all, and I don’t want to get cross,” Nathan said.

Peter extended his hand to Lela. “Shall we? I’m dying to get inside of you.”

“I refuse!” Lela yelled.

“You dare refuse a god?” Nathan said.

Lady Rema stood and said, “Forgive her, please be patient. She’s a queen and as you are aware, queens are not accustomed to being commanded to do anything.”

“I should have ignored Eldrich’s pleas. I should have let vampires drain you,” Nathan said.

Lela started to walk toward Nathan.

Peter grabbed her arm. “What are you doing? Please, I beg you, don’t confront him. He will send you back to Barmoth.”

“I don’t care,” Lela said.

“But you should care. Haven’t you noticed that the golden ball is not with you? It’s not following you. Don’t be stupid.”

“I assumed it couldn’t follow me here. Isn’t that why Eldrich wanted me to come here?”

“It’s time you knew more than you do. I will speak fast. A long time ago, the ocean swallowed all of Barmoth’s gold. It did so at Nathan’s command. Your people worshipped gold so much they started killing each other for it. Their desire for gold nearly destroyed them. Some angels tried to interfere and help your people. They tried to make them see the error of their ways but your people wouldn’t listen.”

“Lela! Your keeping us all waiting is quite impolite,” Nathan said.

“Let me go,” Lela said to Peter.

“Not until you hear the rest of the story. The God of the Cross forbade angels from interfering. Angels are not supposed to be seen by humans. When some of the angels went against the God of the Cross, he cursed them. He turned his back on them. They became fallen angels, disgraced and no longer allowed to enter the Heavens.”

“You’re speaking lies. None of this is written in our history books.”

“Of course it’s not. The Barmoth King at the time did not want it written down. He was ashamed of his people, ashamed of their greed and lust for gold.”

“Why are you telling me all of this?” Lela asked, freeing herself from his grip.

“Sweet innocent girl, if you do not obey Nathan and do as he asks, he will make you suffer, this I promise you.”

“Why would Eldrich ask for his help? I don’t understand.”

“Do not blame Eldrich. He loves you and would do anything to protect you, to keep you safe. He had no choice but to seek out Nathan’s help. He knew he wouldn’t be able to fight off his kind, alone.”

“Earlier today, you were unwilling to give me any information unless I had sex with you which much to my own disgrace, I very nearly did, well, I did to some extent.” She exhaled.

“Forgive me. Your rejection hurt me. But, you must, you absolutely must obey Nathan.”

“Quickly, finish your story. I need to know Eldrich’s connection to Nathan.”

“Your disobedience is angering me!” Nathan yelled.

“We’ll talk more, later. Right now, we need to put on a show. Remember what I said. Please do not confront Nathan. Eldrich will understand you had no choice. I will be gentle, I swear it,” Peter said.

“Oh for goodness sake, you’re still trying to stick your cock in me! You don’t care one bit about me or Eldrich. The only thing you care about is my pussy.”

Lela desperately tried to hold back tears. Here she was about to have sex with a stranger because if she refused, she’d be putting her life in danger. Nothing had been easy since meeting Eldrich, but this…this was the worst test of all.

“Yes, of course I want you. Every elf here wants you. You’re a beautiful stranger. Female elves want you too. But, you’re wrong about me not caring about you. I’m not evil. And I’m telling you the truth. If you refuse to go through with this, Nathan will punish you. You will lose your life, make no mistake.”

She sighed and took Peter’s hand. “My heart will not be with you.”

Peter nodded.

“Ah, at last, the couple is ready. Let’s begin the show!” Nathan said, once Lela and Peter were standing with him.

Lela kept her eyes away from Lady Rema.

The elves cheered and clapped.

“I’m happy you decided to go through with our show,” Nathan whispered to Lela.
