Ten minutes later Jay and Davina were driving to the airport where they were to catch a plane for their Caribbean honeymoon. ‘You’re quiet,’ said Jay, putting his hand on her thigh. ‘Not having second thoughts already, I hope?’

‘Of course not. I was thinking about something Tanya said to me.’

‘Oh yeah, what was that?’

‘She kept going on about how careful I’d have to be in Boston. She was emphasising what a conventional life we’d have to lead once we’re settled over there.’

Jay laughed. ‘Sure, we have to be outwardly conventional, but in the privacy of our bedroom we can do exactly what we like.’

‘You mean we’ll still go on seeing Todd and Tanya?’

‘Maybe not Todd and Tanya, but I’ve got other friends and I know you’ll like them. Don’t worry, Davina. I haven’t finished expanding your horizons yet.’

Davina leant back against the headrest with a sigh of
contentment. ‘I’m very glad to hear it. Sometimes I wonder what you’ve done to me.’

‘It doesn’t really matter what I’ve done to you,’ Jay pointed out. ‘The question is, are you happy with the new you?’

‘Oh yes,’ said Davina enthusiastically. ‘I’ve never been this happy in my life before.’

She closed her eyes, suddenly exhausted by the past few weeks. Even now, watching Jay’s hands on the steering wheel she imagined them wandering all over her body, arousing and satisfying her, bringing her to orgasm again and again until she was utterly sated. As desire gripped her she reached out and pressed her hand between his thighs. ‘Sometimes I’m afraid that I’m insatiable,’ she confessed.

‘In that case, I’ve certainly chosen the right wife,’ laughed Jay. ‘When we get to our hotel we’ll open a bottle of champagne to the memory of your Uncle David. I get the feeling he’d be pretty damned happy with everything that’s happened to both of us.’

‘I think you’re right,’ agreed Davina, and with a smile on her lips she fell asleep, lost in a haze of sensual daydreams about herself, Jay and their future life together.

Once on the plane she put her head on Jay’s shoulder. ‘Wake me when we get there,’ she murmured sleepily.

‘Don’t worry,’ said Jay, ‘I will. Do you know the first thing I’m going to do after we’ve drunk our champagne?’

‘What?’

‘I’m going to tie you to the bed, the way Todd did that day when I got back from the States, and I’m going to drive you out of your mind with pleasure. How does that sound to you?’

Excitement surged through Davina and to her shame she realised that she was wriggling on her seat. ‘Ecstasy,’ she said softly, and knew for sure that everything was going to be all right. No matter how much everyone talked about convention, Jay would never change. Together they’d discover even more about themselves and their own sexuality. The prospect was dazzling. ‘Thank you, Uncle David,’ she whispered beneath her breath, then finally she slept.
