Surprised, Lindsey looked up, focusing on the pale calm face of her captor. He was smiling
softly, watching her with warm, loving eyes.

“Oh
my
Lindsey,” he sighed musically. “So full of life,” he commented in a gentle tone. “So spirited.”

Lindsey took a deep breath, trying to find the strength in her to pretend everything was alright, that she was safe.
If she didn’t calm down she wouldn’t be able to find out what was happening.

“Please,” she began in a soft whisper.
“What do you want with me?”

His eyes lit up with intrigue, but he said nothing.

“At least tell me your name,” she pleaded.

The man smiled
and grasped Lindsey’s face with his long pale fingers. He looked deep into her eyes, as if staring into her soul.

“My name is Kyle,” he told her softly. He paused, examining her pretty, delicate face for her reaction, which appeared to be a strange sort of relief. This made Kyle smile, but not a nice smile like before. He smiled darkly, narrowing his eyes as his grip on her tightened. He savoured the
frightened gasp that passed by her soft, curved lips.

“And you belong to
me
,” he growled into her ear powerfully.

Lindsey didn’t dare argue; her courage was shattered once more.

Lindsey lay on the bed,
the blanket sheathing her trembling body. Although Kyle had left the room for what seemed to be hours ago, she could feel his strong arms around her, holding her down. She was sure there would be bruises later.

Kyle had told Lindsey to change from her work uniform, a black dress and flat shoes, and put on anything of her choice in the wardrobe. To Lindsey’s surprise, when she opened the
wardrobe she was greeted with a rainbow of colours. She stared, running her fingers along the soft and silky fabrics. It struck her then as she pulled out a size eight dress. Kyle had been prepared for the abduction, even down to the aftermath. He had done his homework; he even knew her clothes size.

Lindsey shuddered in disgust; she wondered just how long Kyle had been watching her, waiting to pluck her from her world and drag her into his.

However, at least with this display of clothes all tailored to Lindsey’s size, she
could confirm that it wasn’t Kyle’s intention to kill her, yet. No, he wanted to play with her. But what exactly this entailed, Lindsey did not know.

Lindsey closed the
wardrobe over and skimmed her wide green eyes across the room, finding a dressing table complete with a large mirror. On the dressing room table were small luxuries, such as; fine bottled perfumes, make up, jewellery and then there were two golden picture frames, both displayed photos of Lindsey with a big smile on her face. She gulped heavily, questioning when he had taken them.

Lindsey could tell he had taken great care in designing the room for her;
the walls were even pale red, Lindsey’s favourite colour. It was the perfect prison cell.

She turned towards the door, it beckoned her forward. Lindsey went willingly and to her surprise it opened up into the empty hallway. She paused in the doorway, listening silently; Kyle could be anywhere in the house. If he caught her, Lindsey’s life could be over before it had really begun.

With gentle, quiet steps, Lindsey made her way slowly down the hallway, then conquered the stairs without a creak. The front door to the house was insight and a surge of adrenaline pulsed through her, pushing her onwards. Her fingers grasped the door handle, savouring its cool metal before she plunged it down. Yet a loud clunk resisted against her; the door was locked.

Lindsey’s eyes grew large and her heart raced within her chest. She spun around, finding she was not alone.

Kyle’s tall, dark figure stood before her, towering over her and shrouding her fragile body with his shadow.

H
ow long had he been watching?

Lindsey gasped, backing up towards the door
, but Kyle swept forwards, catching her in his arms. He pulled her into him, holding her securely despite her protests.

“You really think I would let you leave me,
my dear
?” He snarled into her ear, his golden tones dripping with resentment. “Your life with me has only begun.”

To Lindsey’s surprise, Kyle lifted her from the floor, letting her dangle and kick in front of him. Suddenly he was on the move,
promptly making his way past the stairs. He threw open a pale grey door, revealing a cold room, with hard concrete stairs which lead down into darkness. Lindsey screamed in protest, not only having a fear of the dark itself, but could possibly lurk down in the cellar.

“Do you prefer the other room?
” Kyle laughed hysterically as he hauled her up onto his shoulder, as if she barely weighed a thing. He began the quick descent down the stairs.

Lindsey stared
into the darkness below, her whole body shuddering with dread. She cried out, pleading with her captor, but he only laughed at her.

“Oh
, my dear!”
He cried in mock distress. Kyle leaned over, scooping her up into his arms. Lindsey struggled, but her fight was in vain. Kyle was more powerful than any man she had ever met, and he seemed to know exactly where her weakness lay.

He dragged her down to the bottom of the stairs and pushed her hard. She fell to the floor with a loud crash and pain jolted up through her body, pulsing deeply in her head and back.

“Please no!” She screamed out in desperation.

“You
must
be taught a lesson, my little flower,” Kyle stated simply.

“Please!” Lindsey cried as Kyle backed up towards the light.

“Please,” he mimicked, mocking her. “No!” He boomed angrily. “You will stay
here
until further notice,” he told her furiously. “This is
your
punishment for disobeying me!”

Lindsey’s breaths were becoming more ragged and desperate as seconds ticked by. Kyle glared down at her, grinning wickedly as he closed the door behind him. The light was running out.

“Please!” She cried out. “Kyle!”

Kyle paused, letting only a slit of light into the room.

“Yes, my darling?” He asked in a soft coo.

“Don’t leave me down here,” Lindsey beseeched hopefully. “I’ll wear your clothes!
Whatever you want!”

Kyle was quiet and Lindsey watched with wet, hopeful eyes, trying to see him through the small slit he had kept open.

A quiet, cruel chuckle hissed out from Kyle’s soft lips, it quietly echoed around the room and Lindsey’s tears spilled down her checked as her hopes were shattered before her.

He slammed the door, taking the light with him.

Lindsey threw her mouth open to scream, but her mind quickly intervened. She stopped at once, taking a deep, slow breath. She stumbled up the stairs, feeling her way around until she reached the door at the top. She found the knob and quickly tried it, only to discover it was already locked.

Lindsey’s fast beating heart sank and she looked back, peering through the thick mist of black. She could see nothing.

In an effort to comfort herself, and forget where she was, her thoughts began to drift. She could remember running through the wide, open fields of lush, green grass, with her long pale purple dress and bunches as a child. This was her old home, where the family lived before they fell on hard times. It was out in the country, out in the sun, where the flowers grew. How Lindsey missed those days, how she missed the fresh air and beautiful scenery, especially the river at the bottom of the garden. These were happy memories.

But those were all memories, things of the past she could bring to mind to comfort her. Now she was trapped in a dark basement, being kept there by a mad man.

Lindsey snapped free from her memories as her mind began to darken and she stared down into the room, her eyes adapting to the darkness. Now she could see outlines. Struck by her own curiosity, Lindsey carefully made her way down the stairs and she got down on her hands and knees, feeling her way over to the thing that was closest.

She rested her hands upon it, surprised when she felt cold, smooth wood. What could it be? Lindsey kept pressing her hands over it, finding it was a long wooden box, but when she reached the top and went inside it she could feel soft, velvet lining.

It was a coffin.

Her stomach clenched, making her feel sick. She backed away from the coffin, slightly grazing her hands as she dragged herself across the floor. Her heart beat loudly and many questions raced through her head, making the pain twice as worse.

She curled up into a ball.

Why did Kyle have a coffin in his basement?

As Lindsey slowly recovered from the horrible discovery,
unbeknown to Lindsey, Kyle stood by the door envisioning Lindsey lying inside. It was the perfect punishment Kyle thought to himself as he unlocked the door. After all, he knew Lindsey hated the dark, but he also had a few surprises down in the basement for her to find. He hoped his Lindsey had learned her lesson.

Kyle threw the
door open and dim light spilled in. Lindsey groaned slightly in response. She could hear his heavy footsteps on the stairs and feel his glare as he looked down on her.

He sniggered, but in Lindsey’s state of mind she no longer cared, even when the light streamed into the room she still felt engulfed in the darkness. But now she could see the coffin and its red velvet lining before her.

“Have we learned our lesson now?” Kyle asked with a smug smile.

He knelt down
between Lindsey and the coffin, leaning over her. He studied her pale, perfect face with great intrigue, taking in every little detail. But when she still gave no response to his presence Kyle became frustrated. He had been waiting four hours to see her cower in submission. But this was sheer insolence.

Well
?” He snapped feverishly. “Or do I have to lock you in the coffin?”

“No,” Lindsey whimpered
.

Kyle
sighed, seeing that at closer expectation Lindsey was more affected by the coffin and basement than she had first appeared. He frowned deeply, shaking his head as he watched the silent tears roll down her cheeks.

She had le
arned her lesson, Kyle thought.

Gently, he gathered her delicate body into his arms and pulled her
up into his arms, carrying her bridal style from the cellar. He treated her like a precious porcelain doll, making sure each step he took was gentle and she was fully supported. Kyle almost believed that if he dropped his secret treasure she would smash into tiny pieces.

He took her to the bedroom and carefully laid her down on the plush canopy bed. With a small smile he pulled the covers over her and quickly tucked her in. It was only then
she started to respond to his presence.

She gazed up at him
through glazed over eyes, trying to focus on his face.

You won’t try to escape again, I hope,” Kyle said with a haughty smirk.

He
leaned down, placing a gentle kiss upon Lindsey’s forehead. Lindsey was too weak to refuse him, which only encouraged Kyle to move to her tempting, full lips. He placed his cold lips onto hers, stealing a sweet kiss from her. He smiled to himself, feeling satisfied.
