Obviously growing tired of them, she watched as his wings slowly lit ablaze before he flapped them. A huge fire ball
glided out and seared every person standing there. Their charred bodies dropped to the ground as he gathered himself. Turning back to Athena, he saw the apprehension on her face. Scrambling up, she jetted deeper into the woods. Running, she slammed into someone who held her tightly.

“Hello
, chicken.” He taunted with a smile, as she struggled in his arms. Shoving her backwards, she slammed into the thick oak tree as he pulled out a syringe full of a liquid.

Grabbing her by the hair, he cocked her head sideways and went to jam it in.
Everything else happened so fast. Lucien grabbed the guy and slung him backwards before jamming the huge sword into his chest. Twisting it, he stared at him as he choked on his own blood. Pushing him off his blade, he turned back to Athena before putting the sword away and advancing towards her.

“Stay away from me!” she screamed
chucking an orb at him.

Throwing both hands up, he caught it before disintegrating it down to nothing. His eyes shot up to her and a smile teased his lips. Stalking over to her, he
reached down and pulled her up by force. She struggled to get free, but he wrapped her in his arm and pulled her into his chest, with her back facing him. He was stronger than she remembered.

“Let me go
, you heathen!” she shouted, and he chuckled.

“I don’t think I can ever grow tired of you using that word.” He said in her ear and she hated it because she knew her Lucien was gone.

“If you think I’m going to fold to you, you’re wrong!” she shouted.

“I
know you better than that.” He said. ‘But I need you by my side.”

“You can shove that offer up your ass.” She retorted.

“Calm down, and listen.” He ordered. “I’ve been looking for you and you weren’t easy to find. I need you Athena.”

“No!” she shouted. “You may wear his body, but you will
never
be him.”

“It
is
me, it’s Lucien.” He whispered in her ear as he spun her around.

She refused to look at him.
He was trying to play with her head and she wasn’t going to feed into it.

“Screw you.” She sneered looking up to him. She lunged forward, but he gripped her by the arms.

“It’s me, Princess.” He said clearly and that struck a nerve.

Looking
up, she stared him deep in the eyes, and she nearly burst into tears. No one ever called her that but Lucien.

“Lucien?” she asked speechless as he nodded with a smile.

Wrapping her arms around him, she held on for dear life as her tears finally emerged. Holding her back, he exhaled as they got drenched in the rain together.

“But how?” she asked staring up to him.

“My father found a way to trap Samael. But I had to make a deal.” He replied looking down at her.

“What type of deal Lucien?” she asked worried.

“I get to stay here with you. That’s all that matters.” He offered as an explanation.

“Tell me.” She pushed as the rain rolled down her beautiful face.

Oh how he missed those beautiful eyes, bearing into his soul. Athena was the only one who could make him feel vulnerable, and strong all at the same time.

“For a lack of words, I’m the new Angel of Death.” He replied still keeping his glare on her.

“What—why would you—”

Her sentence was cut short by him placing his lips on hers. Her heart melted as she let herself go. Night after night, she constantly dreamed of being reunited with him again but never thought the day would come. But now, with him touching her, caressing her, kissing her—it all just felt so right.

“I told you I would battle Death himself for you, and if my memory serves me correct I won that battle.” He said seductively as he swept her up into his arms.

“I think I remember you saying something like that. You’re my knight in shining armor.” She replied smiling up at him as he spread his wings.

“I think I deserve a reward for that.” He replied walking father into the woods.

“What did you have in mind?”
she inquired.

“A night of passion will suffice. There are things I’ve been dreaming to do to you.” He replied kissing her gently on the lips.

“Anything you want to do to me, I’m all for it. I’ve missed you so much.” She said, not letting her gaze slip from him. She was afraid it would all be snatched away if she didn’t keep her eyes on him.

“I’m not going anywhere ever again, princess.” He replied, as if he read her mind.

“I love you.” He said seriously and she smiled brightly.

“I love you too, Lucien.” She replied back, holding him tightly as she rested her head on his broad muscular shoulders
as he walked into the night.
