“Just leave,” Gweneth ordered.

“Just get your clumsy ass out of my office
now!”

“She didn’t do it on purpose,” Mondo defended
Nell.

“Just leave,” Gweneth said again, not
interested in any defense.

Nell left.

She gladly left.

She hurried back
to her own office.

As soon as she entered, she slammed the door
shut and fell against it.

Her heart was
pounding.

Her mind was stricken with
fear.

How could it be?

That was so long ago.

How could it be happening now?

Jimmy thought Fred was his father.

Since he was two years old he’d been told
that Fred Ridgeway was his father.

And
now she had to tell him it was all a lie?

She had to tell him that she and Fred had lied to him?

Back then, she thought she was looking out for
her son.

She didn’t want those vicious
Gabrinis to know that he even existed.

Fred, back then, was her knight in shining armor.

He loved her and loved Jimmy and gladly
became his father.

But now his real
father was back in town?

After seventeen
long years he was back?

The one thing
she feared most in this life, that her son would someday find himself face to
face with his biological father, was upon them?

“It can’t be,” she found herself saying, her
eyes as big as saucers.

“It
can’t
be!”

Vito Giancarlo stuffed another chunk of thick
rib-eye into his fat, jowly face and then looked at Johnny Drago.

Drago had hardly touched his meal.

They were on the Jersey Shore, in one of
Vito’s numerous restaurants, and Drago was distracted.

“Stop worrying,” Vito said.

“Something will turn up.”

“But I’m getting nothing.

After I couldn’t get any tips in Vegas, I
sent some of my people to this Crane, Georgia place.

But they’re turning up nothing, too.”

Vito chuckled.

“I could have told you that.

Crane makes Mayberry look like South Central L.A.

It’s a ma and pop ghost town.

A nothing.

Remember I would go hiding there with Paulo
Gabrini when we had to lay low.”

“But that’s the point. It’s the perfect place
to lay low.

Somebody’s got the goods on
Reno, that’s why he’s laying low.

I need
to know what’s driving him.

What’s the
heat?”

“I
haven’t heard a thing,” Vito said.

“And
I hear everything.

But I don’t know why
you just don’t take a trip to Crane, put a bullet in Reno’s brain, and be done
with it.

If what you
believe is true.”

“It’s true.

I just haven’t been able to prove it yet.

But I know that asshole.

The PaLargio is bleeding money left and
right.

It’ll probably survive, but it’ll
never be like it was in its heyday.

And
Reno knows this too.

He needs new
markets.”

“But Reno hate drugs,” Vito said.

“You know it and I know it.”

“And that’s what he’s relying on.

Misdirection.”

Vito
shook

his
head.

“I don’t see it, Drag.”

“He’s
up to something, Vito.

I know he
is.

I’ve just got to find out his
weakest point and show him what will happen if he jerks around with me.”

“I say it’s Trina.”

Drago frowned.

“What’s Trina?”

“His weakest point.

I say
it’s his old lady.”

“That’s what everybody’s saying.

That’s what Reno wants them to think.

It’s misdirection again.

But it ain’t her.

I have never known a man as ruthless as Reno
Gabrini to let some female be his weakest point.

No.

Not Reno.

I’m not buying
that.

Something else is going on with
him.

And I believe that’s why he left
Vegas.

Because
somebody else discovered the secret.

I’ve got to discover the secret for myself, and then hit him hard with
it.”

“And you think that secret’s in Crane?”

“It could be.

It’s for damn sure not in Vegas.”

“Doubtful if it’s in Crane,” Vito said.

Then he thought about it.

“But it is curious,” he added.

Drago looked at him. “What’s curious?”

“Why Reno would pick Crane of all places.”

“From what I’m hearing he picked it because it
was convenient.

Because his old man left
him some nothing restaurant there and it’s a small town and it’s a good hiding
place.

It’ll keep him and that wife of
his out of the limelight.”

“Yeah,” Vito said, “but it was also the place
where Reno parted ways with Paulo for good.”

This interested Drago.

“Crane?”

“Yeah.

They had a big blow-up, Reno and his old man,
and Reno left for Vegas that next day and never looked back.

They eventually mended their fences but it
was touch and go for a long time after that.”

“But what was it about?” Drago asked.

“What caused the blow up?”

“A dame, what else?”
Vito said, and then chuckled.

“We made Reno fuck her.”

“You made him?

How could you make Reno do anything?”

“He was in awe of Paulo back in those
days.

He’d do whatever his old man told
him to do.

But when it became our turn,
Reno sprung her.

And she got away from
us.

Paulo hated Reno for that.

He really wanted some of that brown sugar
that particular night. Hell, I did too.

But Paulo almost killed Reno over it.

It wasn’t worth that much.”

“Who was the woman?”

“Nobody.

A waitress.

Some brown sugar named Shanell.

Nell we called her.

Reno just loved her.

He thought she was some innocent.”

“Reno thinks every female’s innocent.

Especially if she’s black.”

Vito disagreed.

“Reno likes them all, black, white and all
colors in between.

It’s Tommy who’s
partial to the black ones.”

Drago smiled, but his mind was on Crane.

Maybe it was worth looking into.

He certainly didn’t have any other
clues.

And he had to find out what was
the secret.

Reno was hiding
something, that
was why he went under.

And before Drago could exact his revenge, he
had to know what.

“This Shanell.

What’s
her last name?”

“Don’t remember her last name,” Vito
admitted.

“But with a name like Shanell,
spelled with an S, mind you, how many can there be?”

“In Georgia?”
Drago asked.

“Hundreds,” he said, and Vito laughed.

“It’s about time,” Trina said as Reno finally
entered their hotel suite.

They spent
the afternoon selecting furniture for the new house, and Reno had been at the
house overseeing the delivery.

“This is
our first invitation, our first dinner party invite in our new town, and we’re
going to be late, Reno.”

“It takes time to deliver all of that
furniture,” Reno said, removing his pullover shirt.

“And I was checking out the place.

It’s not as bad as I thought actually.

I can see myself with a little man cave up in
there.

The guys coming
over to watch some Sunday football.”

“Just get in the shower, will you please,”
Trina said as she pulled panties and bra from her underwear drawer and walked
with them over to the bed.

She had just
gotten out of the shower herself, and had on her bathrobe.

“It was nice of Sully to invite us to his
dinner party,” Reno said, unbuckling his pants.

“He’s the kind of guy I like.

He
could have tried to sell us that house the way Blossom was doing, no matter how
we felt about it, but he didn’t do that.

He realized we weren’t all that pleased and he came up with
options.

I like that.”

“Stop being so hard on Blossom,” Trina said,
removing her robe.

“It’s easy for guys
like Sully to come up with options. He owns the company.

But Blossom’s just trying to earn a
living.

She probably needs every
sell.”

Trina knew what it was like to
rely on a paycheck.

She would have been
making that hard sales pitch, too, if she was in Blossom’s shoes.

Reno looked at Trina.

She was now naked, her back to him, as she
stood at the bed and prepared to put on her pair of panties.

As soon as Reno saw that tight, brown ass of
hers, he knew there was no way he could leave without getting some first.

He removed his shoes and stepped out of his
pants and briefs, leaving them where they lay, and walked over to Trina.

He fondled his already expanding dick as he
approached her.

He knew what time it
was, he knew they needed to get going, but he also knew his limits.

And seeing that beautiful,
naked body of Trina’s, and not fucking it, was beyond the limit for him.

She didn’t realize Reno was upon her until she
bent down to put on her panties and could feel his dick dangle against her
thighs as his arms went around her waist.

“Dominic Gabrini, what are you doing?” she
asked in surprise as he moved his body closer against her and his hands cupped
her bare breasts.

“What do you think I’m doing?” he asked her,
kissing her neck and massaging those breasts.

“I’m about to get something very special from my wife.”

Trina stood erect as she felt Reno’s warm
caresses and kisses.

She could be as
weak as he was when it came to his sex, but with Reno there was never any good
reason for them not to fuck.

Even now, when they were already running late.

“We’re going to be late, Ree,” she said, as he
kissed her neck and massaged her breasts and as his dick found its’ way between
the crack of her ass.

“This is our first
dinner party in Crane.”

“So they’ll understand,” Reno said as one of
his hands left her breast and made its way to her vagina.

“We’re new in town.

We don’t know any better.”

Trina had to smile at that one, but as his
hand began to massage her clit her smile didn’t last long.

“Oh, Reno,” she said as he expertly made her
feel the heat of his hand movement.

Then his second hand moved down, and slipped
in between her folds, rubbing her tenderly, and she leaned her body against
his.

“Oh, Reno,” was all she could
say.

Because she was
gone now too.

She didn’t give a
damn about any dinner party at this moment in time.

All she cared about was Reno, and that sudden
need to have his cock buried inside of her.

And her wish came true.

Because as soon as she thought it, Reno bent
her over, slipped his dick inside of her, and began that slow massage of a
rhythmic fuck that always left her breathless.

She crawled onto the bed as he fucked her, and
he got on his knees on the bed with her ass in the air.

She knew the drill.

She knew exactly what position to assume when
Reno fucked her this way.

And she rested
on her elbows and let him fuck.

She
loved it this way.

In truth, there
wasn’t a position she and Reno used that she didn’t love.

Because all of them netted the same effect:
Reno’s
dick grinding inside of her, in a slow dance, making
her feel
like the luckiest woman alive.
