His Gift & My Blunder

The next few days were fantastic. He took me everywhere, he urged me to call in sick for Thursday but I couldn’t. He rolled his eyes at me, annoyed that I wouldn’t give in. A carefree Suit was so great to see, I felt that we were closer somehow, that there was an invisible shift, which we both understood and let happen.

We had spent a month going back and forth. He would come every Sunday and pick me up from work and I would leave with a laundry list of items that both Kaci and Roxi wanted. Being at home with Lukas in New York was unlike anything I had ever imagined. He would spend any free time he had with me and whatever time he couldn’t, I would spend in his immense wall library that he had built on the other side of the penthouse. It even had a terrace of its own so I could sit outside and enjoy the hot days of summer as I read.

Mrs. Thatcher would often laugh out loud when she saw us playing PS3. Lukas had given in and bought one. I chose one game, while he chose another. I couldn’t help choosing God of War. I loved Rpg games, but I loved it more now that he sucked at it. He watched me play as he helped me through the game. However, I had to admit the man kicked my ass in Gran Turismo, a car racing game. He was good, beyond good. His bellowing laughter would fill the penthouse every time he’d win.

“Whatever, it’s a stupid car racing game, but give me demons and I could kick their asses.” I pouted annoyed at his attempt to embarrass me.

“Sure babe, whatever helps you sleep at night.” He teased.

Mrs. Thatcher and I became fast friends baking and cooking together. When she wasn’t around and I would get bored at home all alone. Lukas would have Jacob drive me around to shop. I felt spoilt and unworthy of everything he had given me, especially his attention, but I let myself relish in it. The gnawing feeling was part of my issues and I was trying my best to ignore it. Maybe I was worth all of this and of him.

“Where are you my little Gran Turismo loser?” He mocked as he found me outside sitting with a glass of wine and my iPad.

“I don’t know where she is, but I’m here.” I smiled back as he leaned in and kissed me. He stood over me, waiting.

“What?” I asked skeptically. He had this look about him, it wasn’t sex it was something else.

“I have something to give you.” He hesitated. Okay, this is a first, a nervous Suit.

“What is it?” He pulled the patio chair and sat close to me, placing a box in front of me. It was wrapped in brown paper and tied with twine. “What’s this?” I moved the box closer.

“Just open it.” He waited his eyes wide with enthusiasm.

“You look more excited than I do!” I mocked and he shrugged. I pulled on the twine and undid the wrapping. He leaned in closer, watching my face. I pulled off the top of the box and pushed back the tissues paper, I looked to him and a wide smile had come across his face, he was beaming.

“Lukas…” All words failed me, my heart swelled, my spirit soared. He had gotten me early editions of all my favorites British authors. I pulled out one book holding it like it was alive and fragile and stared at it intently.

“I know you loved Jane Austen and the Brontë sisters, so I got them all for you.” He said affectionately. My vision blurred with tears as I put the book back into the box.

“I just don’t know what to say…” I sobbed quietly. He cupped my face and caressed my tears away.

“Say thank you, say you like it, say I’m a god, say anything.” He smiled waiting. I watched his face, his adoring eyes.

“I love you” I whispered without thinking. His face stilled and his body grew rigid. His reaction was not one I expected, but then again I didn’t know what to expect with him. He continued to stare at me not uttering anything back. My shoulders dipped down, I was disappointed by the look that was painted across Lukas’ face. I pushed him off me and walked back inside. I turned to see if he was following me, but he wasn’t, he sat frozen, fused to his chair.

“God, I fucked it up.” I murmured to myself. I ran up the stairs and into his bedroom. I closed the door behind me holding onto the knob, clutching at it, until my hands turned white. That’s when I began to hyperventilate. I crawled into bed and sat there in the middle with my knees to my chest. I could hear Lukas coming up the stairs, my heart pounding at each step he took, until the beating of my heart rang loud in my ears. Heat coursed through me, my skin was hot. I tried to slow my breathing, to reign in my emotions.

“Look it’s no big deal, it’s not important. Nothing has to change, I don’t expect you to say it back, it’s just me I get it and I’m fine with it. You’re a very important man and I know I can’t really offer you anything of substance back, they are just words, nothing else.” I verbal diarrheaed all over him the moment I heard the door open. He stood in the doorway silent. Fuck, I mentally yelled at myself. Could there please be an earthquake and could it please swallow me whole right now?

I pushed myself off the bed and bee lined it to the bathroom. Lukas grabbed my arm, pulling me in front of him. He searched my face for a moment and then kissed me hard. Our teeth nearly knocked, his tongue was demanding inside my mouth, taking it for his, I pulled back pushing him off me. This wasn’t what I needed now. He said nothing, as I walked away to the bathroom.

I looked at myself in the mirror. I really screwed things up. Lukas didn’t want this part of the relationship. My gut told me so. Yes, he wanted to possess me, to own me, but I had the feeling love was not what he had in mind. The look he just gave me, the kiss he attempted, all were contrary to how I felt at the moment. It was like he thought I needed the kiss, but what I needed, he probably couldn’t give me.

After what seemed like forever, I walked out of the bathroom. Lukas sat on the edge of the bed waiting.

“I’m sorry about before.” He whispered.

“Sorry about the gift that prompted me to say something stupid or sorry you forced a kiss on me?” My words were laced with venom. He snapped out of whatever trance induce coma he was in and glared at me.

“Don’t be like that.” He fired back. “It wasn’t something stupid, you just…” He took a deep breath, trying to control his temper.

“I just what Lukas? Fucked it up, ended everything? Pushed you to hard? What?” I attacked back. When I saw that Lukas had nothing else to say, I left the room and headed to the small terrace that was just outside his bedroom.

As I opened the patio doors, a gush of air enveloped me. I leaned up against the railing. The night was warm, the sun was setting and the sky was painted with various shades of reddish hues. Lukas followed me out.

“Look, I didn’t expect you to say it back, to be very honest I didn’t expect me to say it either.” I continued to talk trying to stop all this, but in reality I was just making it worse.

“Could you just shut up a minute?” He cried out. “You always take me by surprise. Fuck Alexia, you were a surprise the first time I saw you. This wasn’t supposed to happen, but it did. You did. You’re strong, you’re beautiful, you’ve got a wicked sense of humor, nothing about you makes any sense to me. I’m lost in the world we have created together and I… Alexia, you are it for me. I might not be able to say it right now, but you are it. You are my world. You pull me to you, nothing else matters.” He reached for my arm and yanked me into his chest and held me close, kissing my hair. “You are my world. You are the light that has guided me through the storm of my worthless life.”

He lifted me up and carried me inside and placed me on the bed and kissed me, with slow loving kisses. He was going to show me how he felt. I knew something held him back, but I loved him so completely that I was lost in this world of ours. He held me tenderly as he slowly and gently kissed every part of me as he undressed me. The heat of his lips scorched my body, melting me for the inside. He took my breast in his mouth and kissed it, sucking gently. “So beautiful.” He whispered. He feathered his fingers across my body, making me move to his quiet commands. I slowly unbuttoned his shirt, he watched me with his smoldering blue eyes, there was a tenderness to his face. I unbuckled his belt slowly taking in the moment. He caressed my cheek with the back of his hand, still watching me intently. His pants loosened and he pulled them off.

He pushed me back onto the bed, his body was hot to my touch as he lied on top of me. We took in this long silent moment, time ceased to exist the only thing that matter was what was between us. His eyes searched mine and I smiled. I placed my feet flat on the bed spreading my legs as he thrust into me. He stopped and caressed my face. His eyes telling me what he couldn’t say. His body announcing it almost screaming the words I wished to hear. He didn’t have to tell me, I knew how he felt. He would tell me when he was ready to. He made love to me that night, it was passionate and adoring. It was us.

It was Tuesday morning and I spent the day reading my books until Lukas got home. I had made a deal with myself to not say it ever again, well not until he said it anyways. He came home early and we had both wanted to see an epic flick, he chose Spartacus.

“So you must have seen it when you were younger in the theater, you know in the olden days?” I laughed.

“No smart ass, its cause I watch the show on HBO.” He sat himself on the couch prepping the movie. “If you keep this up I swear you’re going to get punished.” He threatened as he walked back to the couch, giving me a stern face. He placed the remote down on the coffee table in front of us.

“Why do you think I keep trying? I want to be punished.” I smirked and winked at him. His laugh was enough to bring butterflies to my stomach.

“I have a feeling tonight might be the night you learn a very important lesson, Ms. Samos.” I couldn’t help but giggle in excitement.

“Do your worst Mr. Blakk.” I wiggled my eyebrows at him.

“Enough! First the movie then your ass.”

Lukas reached for me and placed me on top of him, but I slid to the side so my back could be on the couch, I finally found my nook and watched the movie. I almost fell asleep when I heard the door open.

“Lukas!” Cried out a female voice. A young female voice. That startled me out of my pre-slumber phase. She walked right in and stopped dead when she saw us both on the couch. It was Mollie. I rose up from where I was. Lukas sat up slowly, the muscles of his jaw clenched tightly. I’ve seen that face, he was livid.

“What are you doing here?” He asked not so politely, making me happy. She stood fused in her spot, her mouth slightly opened. He rose up and walked over to her to block the daggers coming my way.

“Why am I here?” She asked in an incredulously tone “What is that doing here?” She pointed at me. Lukas took two very angry steps forward.

“Give me the key Mollie?” She moved around him.

“No!” She seethed. “Tell me what that bitch is doing here first.” I was so going to stay out of this and let him handle it, but I couldn’t. By my observation I could so break that girl in two.

“This bitch is twitchy and if you say one more thing about me that I don’t like, you will really regret it.” Each word came out controlled and halted so she could understand me. She ignored me and looked right at Lukas, waiting.

“Well?” She crossed her arms tapping her fingers on her elbows.

“She belongs here in our home. Now the key!” My heart fluttered at his words.

“Our home? Are you kidding me? You’re slumming with that thing.” I saw red. I flinched forward and she moved, good I wanted her scared.

“Alexia!” Lukas looked at me “I’ll take care of this.” He turned his attention back to her.

“The key Mollie!” She refused. “Fine! I’ll just change the locks, someone I know already taught me that much. There’s no point in fighting with you. Now get out.” He snapped.

She laughed “You’re kidding me right? You’re going to tell me it’s a coincidence how she looks.” Lukas moved quicker than I had ever seen. He was inches from her face towering over her.

“Get the fuck out now, Mollie!” Lukas roared so loudly that both her and I jumped, he’s eyes were murderous, his stance ready to lunge at her.

I walked up to him slowly and placed my hand on his back soothing him.

“Baby relax. She’s not worth it.” She looked at me as though I was shit that had stained her precious expensive clothes.

“Do you know why I have his key?” She pronounced ‘his’ harder than the rest her words.

“Honestly, I don’t care.” I lied. Lukas moved in front of me trying to block her from me.

“We used to…” I cut her off.

“Look, I’m not going to believe anything you say unless it comes out of this man’s mouth. You obviously have an agenda, so nothing you can say has merit. So you slept together, that was the past and I am his future.”

She scoffed at the last part. “His future, awe honey, this man is just using you. I’m what will end up as his, my money and my family can offer him more than your sorry waitress self ever can.” I smiled at her throwing her off.

“You’re right you probably can, but I’m here now and I have no intension of leaving until this plays out. Right now, this time belongs to Lukas and me and not you. So get out before I call the cops and have you arrested for trespassing.”

She held her mouth open, “You can’t do that.”

Lukas looked right at her “Yes she can. Get out, you’ve been warned.” She yanked the key off the chain and threw it at him. She murmured a few swear words at me and stalked off slamming the door behind her.

I sat back down on the couch Lukas followed shortly after. We sat at opposite ends.

“You’re going to change the locks tomorrow.” I told him.

“Tomorrow.” He agreed.

“The only reason why I’m not ripping into you right now is because it was in the past.”

He relaxed his stance “Alexia, I never slept with her. I told you our parents wanted us to get together but that was never going to happen.” I glared at him.

“Then why does she have a key?”

He moved closer. “She had a key because she works at the company and I needed things from the house sometimes. That’s all.” I waited.

“Then why was she here today?”

He inched closer. “Probably to drop off a proposal I needed.” I glanced at him then back to the TV.

“Did you really mean it when you said our home?”

He laughed. “You made it a home Alexia, I told you that already. Where you are is my home.” He reached for my arm and pulled me to him. “Now about that punishment.” He wagged his eyebrows at me.

He stood up and stared at me. “Hand” He said. I hesitated, still reeling from my encounter with Mollie. “Hand!” He growled. I held it out and he pulled me off the couch taking me to the dining table. “Stand still. Do not move or it will be a very long and painful punishment.” I took a deep breath, I knew him enough that he meant it when he threatened. He moved the chair from the head of the table and placed me there facing him. “Arms up.” I lifted my arms over my head as he reached for the hem of my tank top and yanked it off. “Stay with your arms up.” A crooked smile came over him as his eyes drank me in. “No bra?” He reached for my breasts and began to fondle them. “Very nice.” He lowered himself to one and licked it until my nipple peaked then he bit it hard. I sucked in air, the pain was so sweet.
