So - if a woman gives birth to a male child she cannot have sex with her husband for seven days + 33 days = 40 days.

But if she has a female child she cannot have sex with her husband for 14+66 = 80 days! This of course suggests that the birth of female babies is twice as ‘unclean’ as the birth of male children!

 GOD’S FAMILY VALUES FOR CHILDREN

CAN MEAN A DEATH SENTENCE!

Punishment for children that hit or curse (
swear at
) their parents is death - Just kill them - they won’t do it again! 

Exodus 21:

15. And
he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.

17. And
he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death. 

No compromise! They shall surely be put to death - at a stoning party!

Deuteronomy.21:18-21 

If a man have a
stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother,
and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them: Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;  And they shall say 
unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard. 
And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you;
and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

Leviticus 20:9

For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death
: 
he cursed his father or his mother; his blood shall be upon him.

Deuteronomy.22:13-21

If any man take a wife, and go in unto her, and hate her, And give occasions of speech against her, and bring up an evil name upon her, and say, I took this woman, and when I came to her, I
found her not a maid: Then shall the father of the damsel, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the damsel’s virginity
unto the elders of the city in the gate: And the damsel’s father shall say unto the elders, I gave my daughter unto this man to wife, and he hateth her; And, lo, he hath given occasions of speech against her, saying, I found not thy daughter a maid; and yet these are the tokens of my daughter’s virginity. And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city. And the elders of that city shall take that man and chastise him; And they shall amerce him in an hundred shekels of silver, and give them unto the father of the damsel, because he hath brought up an evil name upon a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.
But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father’s house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you.

PLEASE RAPE MY DAUGHTER!

Here is the story of a family traveling to a town called Bethlehem-Judah They were invited by an old man to stay the night at his house and whilst they were there a mob of drunken men came to the door and asked for the young man of the visiting family to go with them as they wanted to ‘know him’ - (Bible code for sex). The old man refused their request but then offered his daughter and his mistress for them to rape! So they took his mistress and abused her all night.

Judges 19:24-25

Behold,
here is my daughter a maiden* and his concubine;
them I will bring out now, and humble ye them, and do with them what seemeth good unto you: but unto this man do not so vile a thing. But the men would not hearken to him:
so they took his concubine and brought her forth unto them: and they knew her, and abused her all night until the morning:
and when the day began to spring, they let her go.

*maiden -
the correct translation here is ‘virgin’

The old man in the story makes it clear that sexual abuse should not befall a man but it was acceptable for a woman, even his own daughter or his mistress, to be used and abused by men. The evil does not end here as the old man takes his mistress who had suffered all night from gang rape - he then kills her and cuts her up into twelve pieces! (Verse 29)

This is almost a repeat of an earlier story in the book of Genesis concerning Lot and his family in the city of Sodom when, according to the Bible,
two angels
visited the home. Lot defends his visitors; men who are really angels, from a mob of men who it is suggested want sex with them, by offering his two virgin daughters instead! If they really were angels couldn’t they defend themselves from mere mortals whatever their intentions? And would angels from God allow Lot’s bargaining ploy.

Genesis 19:1-9

And 
there came two angels to sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant’s house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. 
And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night. And he pressed upon them greatly; and they turned in unto him, and entered into his house; and he made them a feast, and did bake unleavened bread, and they did eat.
But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, where are the men which came in to thee this night? bring them out unto us, that we may know them.  And Lot went out at the door unto them, and shut the door after him, And said, I pray you, brethren, do not so wickedly. Behold now, I have two daughters which have not known man; let me, I pray you, bring them out unto you, and do ye to them as is good in your eyes: only unto these men do nothing;
for therefore came they under the shadow of my roof.

Finally, Lot’s daughters were spared as the two angels (now called men) at last performed their power tricks:

Genesis 19:10-11

But the men put forth their hand, and pulled Lot into the house to them, and shut the door.
And they smote the men that were at the door with blindness, both small and great: so that they wearied themselves to find the door.

The angels then told Lot and his family to prepare to leave the city in the morning as God would destroy both Sodom and the city of Gomorrah and all the cities in the plain because of their wickedness. So God wiped out a number of cities and countless men, women, children and animals and only saved Lot and his family from his wrath.

In the morning the angels told Lot and his wife and family to leave and ‘not to look back at the city’ - Unfortunately Lot’s wife looked back and was immediately turned into a pillar of salt! Pow! - Dead!

Here it is worth mentioning that the ‘sin’ of the city of Sodom was not homosexuality as many believe. The sin was the inhospitality and laziness of the inhabitants as the Prophet Ezekiel proclaimed the words of God concerning the destruction of Sodom:

Ezekiel 16:48-50   

As
I live, saith the Lord GOD,
Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters. Behold, this was the iniquity of thy sister Sodom, pride, fulness of bread, and abundance of idleness was in her and in her daughters, neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy.  

Josephus also commented:

The Sodomites, overweeningly proud of their numbers and the extent of their wealth, showed themselves insolent to men and impious to the Divinity, insomuch that they no more remembered the benefits that they had received from him, hated foreigners and declined all intercourse with others. Indignant at this conduct, God accordingly resolved to chastise them for their arrogance…

Here is another curious event recorded in the same chapter concerning Lot and his two daughters – this time it is incest!

BIBLE FAMILY VALUES - INCLUDES INCEST!

Lot continued on his way with his two daughters until they were a good distance from the plain where the cities had been destroyed. They were living for a while in a cave and then one night the daughters had a good idea - so the story goes: 

Genesis 19:30-37

A
nd Lot went up out of Zoar, and dwelt in the mountain, and his two daughters with him; for he feared to dwell in Zoar: and he dwelt in a cave, he and his two daughters.
And the firstborn said unto the younger, Our father is old, and there is not a man in the earth to come in unto us after the manner of all the earth: Come, let us make our father drink wine, and we will lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. And they made their father drink wine that night: and the firstborn went in, and lay with her father; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. And it came to pass on the morrow, that the firstborn said unto the younger, Behold, I lay yesternight with my father: let us make him drink wine this night also; and go thou in, and lie with him, that we may preserve seed of our father. And they made their father drink wine that night also: and the younger arose, and lay with him; and he perceived not when she lay down, nor when she arose. Thus were both the daughters of Lot with child by their father. And the firstborn bare a son, and called his name Moab:
the same is the father of the Moabites unto this day.

POLYGAMY IS ACCEPTED BEHAVIOUR IN GOD’S FAMILY VALUES

There are ample examples of polygamy in the Bible, the leader with the most wives and lovers being the great Solomon who had at least 1,000 sexual partners:

1 Kings 11:1-3

But
king Solomon loved many strange women,
together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites; Of the nations concerning which the Lord said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love. And
he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines:

Jesus praised Solomon and never denounced his lifestyle, so we can assume that Jesus had no problem with polygamy!  According to Mathew and Luke here is what Jesus said about Solomon.

Matthew 12:42

The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for she came from the uttermost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

Luke 11:31

The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

Gideon, another of God’s heroes, also had many wives and sexual partners:

Judges 8:30-31

And
  
Gideon had threescore and ten sons of his body begotten
:
for he had many wives
. And his concubine that was in Shechem, she also bare him a son , whose name he called Abimelech.

Isn’t it strange that these and other great heroes of the Bible were exempt from the laws of God?

At best, the Bible offers us some good advice concerning family values which are actually nothing more than good human values common in society whether religious or not. At worst, the Bible gives us examples of horrific and unjust laws made between 2,000 and 6,000 or more years ago which are totally alien to life as we know it in civilised societies in the third millennium.

Should we really consider the Bible as a good reference book to teach family values? The idea that if religion were removed from the world there would be a huge outbreak of lawlessness is ludicrous. The vast majority of human beings desire to live within the law and to enjoy life without harm to others. We recognise good human values naturally and do not need deviant, brutal, uncivilised advice or law given to human society several thousand years ago.

ADULTERY = DEATH BY STONING

Deuteronomy 22:
