“There was an incident this morning at the diner and Drew was shot,” Bruce says gently.

I gasp and my hand shakes as it holds the phone to my ear. “Bruce,” I cry out. Tears stream down my face.

“Katarina, it’s not looking good. They just rushed him back for emergency surgery.”

“I’m on my way. I’ll be there as soon as I get a flight.”

As I hang up the phone, I jump out of bed, and pull on clean underwear, yoga pants, and a T-shirt. Finally, I notice Luke still standing there at the head of my bed. “I need you to take me to the airport,” I say in a quivering voice.

Hulk
- As always my everything! I couldn’t do any of this without your support. I love you most for wearing a bracelet that said, “I love Troy” after Destiny’s Detour was published and not blinking an eye when people asked you about it.
My 3 Cubs
- Angel, Demon, and Cubby, you’re my world! I love that you support your crazy mom no matter what.

- Thank you for teaching me how to show and not just tell, for your patience with me as I work to better my writing with each novel, for being my friend, for creating the Indie Express LLC so I could meet so many wonderful ladies like
