“Let me go!” Jaxon yells at him, not caring who is watching or listening.

“Never going to let you go, mate.” Kyd tells her firmly shaking his head side to side. He grabs her other arm and lifts her up onto his shoulder. Her legs were hanging down his front.

“What are you doing? You got shot a few days ago. You can’t be carrying me around. Put me down before you hurt yourself!” Jaxon demands. She tries to squirm and kick her legs.

Kyd swats her delectable bottom. “Your squirming is what hurts my injuries.” Jaxon stops struggling immediately. He smiles smugly and begins to carry her back to her sleeping quarters.  He slides the door shut behind him.

Jaxon was unceremoniously thrown onto her bed. She tried to move off but Kyd was too fast and too strong. He threw himself on top of her body preventing her from going anywhere.

“We have things to discuss mate.” Kyd presses his nose against her neck.

“I’m not your mate and there is nothing to discuss.”

“You are my mate. I need you.”

“Then why didn’t you let me see you while you were in the Medic Wing. I had to go through all of it alone. I was worried about your health, felt guilty over SilAS’s death, and had to attend the Warrior’s Service by myself.” Jaxon sounded hurt.

“I was deeply sorry to hear about the death of  your friend. He was a good male. His death was not your fault. He would not want you to  blame yourself. The fault was entirely the Morins’.” Kyd looked at her with sincerity.

“I regretted that I refused to see you while in recovery. I was a prideful male and did not want you to see me weakened. I did not want you to pity me with wires and tubes sticking in me. I was like one of Syd’s science experiments.” He gazed into her soft brown eyes with those strange alien black pupils.

“I didn’t care about all that. I was worried about you.” She whispered. His sincerity touched her deeply. The anger disappeared and her hurt eased. Her body started to respond to having him be on top of her. She tried to remain still but then Kyd started to nibble on her chin. She moaned.

Kyd growled in response. The female drove him crazy with need. Before they did anything more he needed to straighten some things out with her. He reluctantly pulled back.

“You are my mate. I feel … love for you.” He tells her letting himself be vulnerable.

Her eyes light up. “Really?”

“Yes.”

“I am in love with you too.” She says almost shyly.

He smiles a joyful smile at her and then licks his lips. “Now that we have all of that settled, we have some catching up to do.”

Epilogue

After Jaxon resigned her position with the EWG Military, Kyd offered her a Liaison position that she accepted. All EWG military teams sent to Katiera must report to her directly. No one opposed the offer since she had already proven herself by fighting to protect the Katierans.

Prime Leader RendEL and the Katieran High Council decided to disclose information to the EWG about the Morins and how much of a threat they pose to Earth.  Kyd and Commander TylOR were working on plans to send a team to Earth to train their human military. More security measures were being taken for the next transport ships sent out.

The Kiljorns and Katierans also combined their efforts to try and locate the human females that the Morins had taken. The enemy transport ship’s energy trail dropped off and it was hard to determine whether they entered a worm hole or not. Scouting ships were posted at all possible worm holes in hopes of reclaiming the females.

Things were changing. The strangest change was happening right at that moment. Jaxon stood in front of the large viewing screen that had been set up in the docking bay on the Kiljorn transport ship. The viewing screen showed images of Cassie and Prime Leader RendEL with their beautiful daughters in their arms. Kyd stood tall as ever beside her.

Jaxon and KydEL both wore their Katieran warrior attire. Close to them stood Kat, Prime Medic SydEL, Lieutenant RowAN, and the Kiljorn Commander TylOR. Behind them filling out more space in the docking bay was the entire Kiljorn crew.

She glanced up at Kyd and he smiled at her. She felt butterflies in her stomach. This was the only man that had ever done that to her. She fidgeted. Why couldn’t this be done in private instead of in front of all these people? She would have been fine waiting till they reached Katiera, but Kyd wanted this done immediately.

“I KydEL, Prime Commander of Katiera, claim you Jaxon Malone as my mate.” Kyd’s voice seems to boom through the docking bay.

“I Jaxon Malone claim you KydEL, Prime Commander of Katiera, as my mate.” Saying Mate is so strange. Will she ever get used to it?

Kyd bends down to give her a kiss. It quickly explodes into a full assault of lips and hands. They rub their bodies together. The temperature in the docking bay skyrockets.

“Hey, get a room already! I’ve got kids watching.” Cassie yells from the viewing screen.

Jaxon and Kyd pull apart laughing and smiling. He picks her up throwing her over his shoulder. He smacks her bottom and she responds by smacking his.  He carries her out of the docking bay.

“Hey, where are we going? The party is just getting started.” Jaxon asks.

“I have reserved the use of the anti-gravity chamber for the next two hours.” Kyd explained as he carried her down the corridor.

Jaxon smacks his ass again. “Well hurry the hell up. We only have two hours!”

“Would you care to dance Dr. Morris?” Commander TylOR asks Kat.

The small group that attended the ceremony remained in the docking bay even though Jaxon and Kyd had left for their mating night. After experiencing a battle like they had, everyone needed something to celebrate.

“I would love to dance Commander.” She smiled at the large bald headed man shyly. He was an extraordinary specimen of man. Big muscles, tight six pack. And his bare head was sexy as hell.

“I will be dancing with Dr. Morris.” Prime Medic SydEL says possessively from behind them.

“Perhaps I may have the next one.” TylOR says nodding at the Prime Medic before walking off. Maybe he can find an excuse to travel over to the Katieran transport ship and hunt down that small female with the loud voice.

“You can keep waiting, this one is mine.” Syd whispers as he takes Kat into his arms.
