“Darling, I know what I’ve been blessed with. And though I would like nothing more than to let go, unleash the untamed yearning to die in your succulent abyss that’s driving me crazy. You can trust me not to disregard the enormity of my size and plunge greedily in the soaking pussy of yours calling to me like a siren and hurt you. I want you desperate for me again and wanting my cock, you taking me completely, uncontrollable until you climax again. Only then, will I allow myself to let go and spill my seed inside you, if that’s what you want, Pulura. If not, I suppose I will suffer the ache in my dick…possibly take care of the matter myself. Whatever you want, darling, it’s my wish too.”

“Oh, Channing are you for real?” Her husband only showed her how selfish, rough, and deviant sex could be. Channing was tender and so gentle it made her ache to the bone. She kissed his mouth and hugged him close. Tentatively, she started moving her hips in the rhythm he showed her, easing up…slowing moved down enclosing his entire cock inside her. Pulura rocked against him in a tempo as old as time.

“Baby, do you know what you do to me?” Channing bit his lip, exhaled heavily, matching her stroke for stroke. “Fuck me, baby…use me…”

“What do I do to you? Drive you crazy?” she grinned, teasingly. She firmed her thighs against his waist taking him deeper.

“No, darling, you make me damned wild,” he growled.

Her eyelids fluttered as he thrust up and escalated the tempo until their bodies thrashed together. Each forge more hungry then the next, deeper, so deep she felt him reach her womb. Her pussy, slippery and accommodating, bathed his cock and allowed him access unhampered. When she locked her thighs against his flanks, ground down on his dick, she knew Channing’s control slipped.

He pounded into the giving flesh, taking, giving in return, he tossed all caution to the wind and fucked her with a potency that left them panting in choppy breaths until Pulura’s low cry of pleasure erupted from her lips in a scream. She trembled, her hips jerked erratically as he brought her to another mind numbing orgasm that shattered her senses.

When she lay inert and struggled for air, she moaned in delight feeling him lose himself, his cock bloated heavy inside her and throbbed. She felt his body tense as he struggled to contain his hunger, need.

His voice came out raspy, knowing. “I don’t want to hold back. I can’t,” he said between clenched teeth. “Darling…” he squeezed her ass between his large, hot, hands and pushed the deepest inside her. “Pulura…baby, please.”

She should be anxious, as she had been earlier. If nothing else cautious knowing what she was about to concede. Everything, she was going to give her soul to him.

“I don’t want you to hold back anything from me ever.”

“I thought you would never say that,” he said faintly. He kissed her hard, greedily, withdrew only to press back further inside her. She felt him take hold of her again, pushing her to limits of need, so strong her cries of pleasure mingled with his hoarse groan as she climaxed and collapsed around him.

She felt him freeze, his cock twitched, and then he shuddered all around her, in her, as he released and ejaculated filling her with his seed.

She wasn’t running from her past anymore. Even if she wanted to, she knew Channing wouldn’t allow it. He enclosed her in his arms and let her drape over his body like a comfortable shawl. His embrace secure and protective eased all her fears. When he spoke, his words only magnified she had found something unique, inspiring, in a man for the first time.

“You’re so sweet I’m not sure I deserve you,” he confessed. He held her hips and helped her ease off him. She snuggled up against him and he welcomed her in his arms. After or during sex with her husband he never showed affection and always left her feeling lonely and used. As soon as he finished, he jumped from the bed and rushed to the cleansing chamber as if he needed to wash his body to rid himself of her scent.

“We deserve each other,” she whispered.

His eyes brightened and warmed to brown embers, attentive, so telling was his gaze when he looked at her. His hand brushed her cheek lightly. “I just said a prayer to God that if I’m dreaming, don’t ever wake me. I want to live in this miracle he bestowed on me forever.”

There was nothing to say. Channing had come into her world, literally, and swept her off her feet and lodged into her heart. She accepted it as fate. In his universe, he called it a miracle.

His god had given her a miracle, she thought smiling.

Chapter Twenty-eight

Walking down the corridor toward where Allura waited, Noor braced himself for trouble. Just at the threshold before activating the door to open, he paused a second to allow his pulse to stop pounding. Every nerve ending was alive, like an adrenaline rush he experienced when apprehending an unwilling suspect. He prepared for the battle.

Allura sat demurely on the bed, dressed in a white blouse and form-fitting black slacks that hugged her hips. He started toward her, and then halted, seeing the pistol by her side.

“Where did you get that?”

With a triumph glint, Allura curled her slender fingers around the handle trigger. “
That
is none of your business. But you needn’t worry as long you don’t make a wrong move.” Allura had the gall to threaten a man and not flinch in the process.

Her dulcet murmur was recognized for what it was. And though subtle, the lethal connotation was noticeable. Noor pushed forward and entered the room.

“You want to shoot me?”

“The thought has crossed my mind,” Allura retorted.

Unconcerned about the threat, Noor stepped in front of Allura, stretched his arms on each side of her, and rested on the bed, leaning close enough to rub noses. “Can we talk about this calmly? I miss you.” Noor put his hand out toward her face. She slapped it away. “I guess that means no,” he said grimly. “I didn’t come here to fight, but talk, and that is what we are going to do whether you like it or not. I have allowed—”

“Allowed?” Allura’s brows shot upward in indignation.

Noor didn’t back down. He repeated, “I have
allowed
you to sulk and throw a temper tantrum long enough. It’s time we squelched the animosity between us like reasonable adults.” He paused, and then added, “You were more complacent after I rescued you from the emperor.” So the drugs made her agreeable. He dismissed that morbid excuse he shouldn’t have voiced. She recoiled from him, anger surfaced.

“I shouldn’t have said that. I apologize. I don’t want to fight, Allura.”

Doggedly, Allura met Noor head-on and made it apparent she intended to persevere. This was a Mexican standoff. She raised her chin a notch and had the nerve to smile sweetly while her fingers firmed on the gun. “You’re sorry, now? Humph. You want to be reasonable
now
? After all you have put me through. Rationality apparently had no place in your thought process when you tricked me into coming to th–this nightmare you live in.” She blistered.

Noor swore. “I’m profusely apologetic. Under the circumstances, I had no choice. Channing’s life was at stake.”

She slapped his face. “Don’t you dare use that against me!”

“Don’t do that again.”

“You brought me here, where I have been beaten and raped, and those are the things I can remember!”

She slapped him again.

“You feel better now?” He snarled.

“I have a mother, father…a life in Texas, and you tossed that neatly out the window to meet your own selfish needs. You have ruined my life. I hope you are happy with yourself.”

Noor moved, walked over to the 360-degree view, and gazed out at the purple haze that blanketed the sky. The misty, atmospheric pressure drifted past the moons and temporarily reflected a lavender glow into the room.

“I’m guilty of everything you accused. However, if I knew what my government had planned for you, I would have taken different precautions. Emperor Agaci is the lowest animal. Do you honestly believe I would intentionally put you in his hands?” He waited on her response for vindication he wasn’t as horrible as she believed. Allura remained silent. Noor clenched his teeth. “I came for you,” he reminded her.

“So what. Does that appease your conscience? Should I bow down in honor because you saved me from the hellish man you are responsible for giving me to? For god’s sake, I’m married to a monster, and you think I should take that lightly.”

He said between pinched teeth. “The marriage isn’t official until it’s consummated.”

“If rape means consummation then I think he succeeded,” she said nastily. Her tone harsh and bitter, she lashed out.

“The emperor did not molest you, Allura. Nor did I, so I can assure you, your virginity remains intact.”

“My God, you’re insensitive and a liar.” She quaked, furious. “I should fall to my knees and give thanks.” Sarcasm dripped from her lips like syrup.

“The night we had intercourse, I was careful not to breech you. The Karos practice the art of restraint—after two years living among them, I have perfected the technique that allowed me to do what I did, provide pleasure and respectfully keep a woman virtuous. Even then, I considered your welfare, what was right for you, and pushed my need aside. Um, perhaps I’m not cold-hearted and a liar,” he said softly.

“You expect me to believe that? If that isn’t the most farfetched tale I have ever heard…well, outside of this whole ‘come to my planet and save the galaxy’…you expect me to believe anything you say.”

Noor glanced over his shoulder. He furrowed his eyebrows into a unibrow. The irony of the situation occurred to him. “With all your accusations, maybe I should have fucked you.”

“Bastard,” Allura hissed.

He continued as if she hadn’t assassinated him with a single word. “If the emperor found you impure, he would have killed you immediately. If I couldn’t get to you in time, at least I brought you some hours that would keep you alive. That is the reason I didn’t take you fully our first time together. I have always been concerned for your welfare.” He eyed her. “You can believe that or not. At this point, I really don’t give a damn.” He stalked to the door. His hand reached out…she called to him. Everything inside said go. Hadn’t he hurt her enough? Noor turned around. “What? And if you sling another insult at me, I’m out of here, Allura. I swear.”

Allura studied her hands. Her voice was low, almost inaudible. “Can you blame for me being impossible? I’m frightened.” She looked at Noor. “I’m so scared I don’t know what to do. I haven’t had to deal with anything of this magnitude before. Matt Graham, prejudices, societal backlash…the English. Those are the worse nemesis in my life. But, sadly, I had learned to live in that world, even though it might not be idealistic to you. It was where I belonged and comforting to me. Now this.” She waved around the room. Noor knew she meant his world and not just the chamber. “Thrust into this madness, and yes, that is what it is to me. It is more than unsettling. Though you can’t understand, Legend, Texas, is my home, where I belonged. Where I felt safe, Noor, and I don’t intend to apologize for it. Can you begrudge how I feel, knowing this?”

Noor shoved forward and walked halfway to Allura. “I never thought for an instant any of this would be easy. Contrary to your beliefs, seeing your family and the close bond that you all have tore at my gut that I would be responsible for turning your life topsy-turvy. I’m not that callous, Allura. By the time I realized what I was doing, things had progressed too far for me to reel things back and change the dynamic of what was about to happen. Matters were out of my control because it wasn’t just you and me anymore. Too many others were involved, and that complicated matters. So, here we stand. The only thing I can do is try to get you out of this mess unscathed.”

She looked at him hopefully. “You have a plan? Can you save me from the horrid man, and then return me home, and life will continue as if this never happened?”

“I’m still trying to figure that out,” he mumbled. He shoved his hands in his pockets. A slow burn started in his gut. “It’s not that simple, I’m afraid. As I told Channing, Emperor Agaci will not stop coming after you until you are inaccessible…or dead.” The brute honesty was necessary. She had to know what they were up against. He saw her expression turn from angry to solemn. “The latter is not an option in my mind. Never. I can take you to Magnus, where you will be safer. You need to get with child as soon as possible. That will cease Emperor Agaci from securing you as his wife because you would be useless to him. Even if he wanted to keep you, the Oridus government wouldn’t allow it.” He glanced at her. “It won’t stop him from seeking revenge. Men like the emperor are not forgiving.”

Allura looked disgruntled. “Okay, somewhere in between going to your home and the birth of my child, no marriage was mentioned. Or did I miss that part?”

Vale’s warning sounded in his mind.
If that is your only reason for wanting Allura, I wouldn’t tell her that.
Even before he finished his sentence, he knew he was damned. It was difficult having to be blunt about the facts, and wounding her feelings made his stomach lurch. At this point, until he could figure out how to get Allura out of this situation unharmed, he wouldn’t give her false hope. If he got her with child, he could explain that to his government. He had taken advantage and played on her naiveté to gain her compliance. It wasn’t as if he hadn’t done it before. In his line of work, a conscience didn’t come into play—until now.
