Andrea has studied meditation for 30 years, living in ashrams and meditation centers in India, Paris, New York, and California. In her early twenties, Andrea was an actress both on and off Broadway. She was a member of Cafe La Mama and the improvisational group The Groundlings, and appeared in several TV shows. She also co-wrote and directed three videos at the American Film Institute.

As the founder of Professional Organizers in the early '80s, Andrea coordinated, supervised, and expedited moves for the elite in New York City and created satellite offices to support her clients. Her unique concept was so visionary that
New York
magazine, the
New York Times,
and several moving magazines wrote about her business.

In the mid-'80s while a journalist for
The Times Herald-Record,
in upstate New York, Andrea was profoundly affected by three teen suicides that occurred at a local high school. In response, she wrote a grant and received funding from Senator Charles Cook to create the Off-Off Main Street Children's Theater Company, dedicated to works by, for, and about teenagers and the challenges they face. The company ran successfully for eight years.

An actress, transformational speaker, author, savvy businesswoman, and ardent practitioner of meditation, Andrea integrates her gifts as she presents keynote lectures and her new workshop, “Pushing Upward: The Art of Living and Thriving.” This workshop combines her holistic (mind-body-spirit) approach to living with the principles and concepts from
Pushing Upward.
Known for the experiential nature of her work, Andrea dives into the heart of people's passions and supports them to live their deepest desires so they thrive and push upward. Her dynamic, transformational presentation touches participants in ways that shift their lives dramatically.

Andrea lives in Santa Monica, California. Her son, Brian Adler, is a jazz composer and musician in New York City.
