Marc shook his head.  “I can’t believe you’re gonna make her do this,” he then stated.

“I’m not making her do anything,” Randle confronted him.  “She’s perfectly capable of handling herself and always has been.”

Lia smiled proudly.  “Sounds like it’s gonna be fun to me,” she then implied as she playfully batted her eyes at him.

They made their way to the waiting limo.  This time James was driving her and Randle and Marc followed in Randle’s Mercedes.

The limo now pulled up in front of the swanky restaurant.  James rounded the car and opened the door for Lia to get out.  She watched as Randle parked on the side of the building but he and Marc stayed in the car.  She made her way through the front door of the restaurant and was greeted by a server.

“May I help you ma’am?” he asked a bit nervous as he tried to look her in the eye.

“Yes actually, I’m here to meet Mr. Mason,” she informed him.

“Yes ma’am, he’s expecting you,” the young man answered then turned and began making his way through the dimly lit eatery.

Lia followed closely.  The young man stopped and faced this middle aged man that was slightly balding with his rounded belly but was nicely dressed and clearly filthy rich.

“Mr. Mason, your guest has arrived,” he announced as he pulled out the chair from across the table for her to sit.

The man smiled widely and rose to shake her hand.  “Well, aren’t you a beautiful little thing,” he exclaimed.  “I’m Maxwell Mason.”

“Jennifer,” she replied as she returned the handshake then took her seat.

“Well, the escort service didn’t lie.  They said I would be pleased,” he then stated nearly drooling at the sight of her.

“Well I hope I can uphold your expectations,” she then flirted back.

The server took their order and poured them each a glass of wine.  Mr. Mason proposed a toast.  “To tonight,” he dreamily commented.

Lia raised her glass, tipped it against his and then winked at him.  “To tonight,” she repeated then slowly sipped the wine.

Lia chuckled inside as she watched this hideous man eat so fast she thought he was surely to choke himself.  They only made minor small talk through the meal as he was definitely trying to rush things along.

“Well, shall we go?” he then asked after paying the tab.  He reached out a hand and helped Lia rise up from her chair.

“By all means,” she answered smiling impishly.  “My car is waiting for us outside.”

This fool followed and grinned behind her as he followed her out the door and into the waiting limo.  As soon as they were inside he was all over her.

“Now now,” she stalled.  “I don’t wanna be walking through that hotel lobby all messed up,” she insisted as she pulled his hands away from her waist and his wet lips from her neck.

The car finally pulled up to the curve of the hotel.  Again James opened the door and Mr. Mason got out first followed by Lia.  The man again followed her as they made their way through the lobby and up the elevator.  Lia pulled out a room card and slid it in the slot and pushed the door open.

As they made their way she walked quickly as deep into the suite as she could, passing by the bedroom door.  He grabbed her again.

“Now you’re all mine,” he stated as he again tried to kiss her but stopped suddenly when he felt the cold hard medal of a gun now against the back of his head.

Lia pulled away and got as far as she could from him.   Randle had come out of the bedroom and was now standing behind him.  The man turned to face him.

“What the hell is this all about Randle?” he then asked.

“Why have you been refusing to meet with me?” Randle then asked.

“I haven’t,” he insisted becoming very nervous.

“I’m not stupid Maxwell.  You owe me money and you’ve been avoiding me.  Nobody avoids me,” he demanded.

Then suddenly the door slammed opened again and another man came in.  Lia had no idea who he was.  He grabbed Randle’s arm from behind and pulled him to the ground causing him to drop his weapon.  Mr. Mason jumped on top of Randle and started to beat him.  The other man hadn’t seen her there she knew.  She reached in her purse and flipped the velcro strap from her pistol and pulled it from her purse.  She raised both arms and took aim at the man on top of Randle and pulled the trigger.

All three men froze at the popping sound.  Randle threw Mr. Mason’s body to the floor grabbed his gun and rose.  The other man put his hands in the air.

“Look Randle, I have no idea what the hell is going on here,” he stated.   “I saw someone follow them through the lobby and got suspicious is all.”

Must’ve been James Lia thought to herself as she listened on.

“Then you should’ve stayed out of it,” Randle warned.

“I didn’t know it was you from behind until you fell to the floor.  I never would’ve gotten involved.”

Randle lowered his gun and placed it back under his jacket.  It was clear to Lia he knew this man well and must have trusted him.  He reached out his hand and motioned his fingers in her direction.

“C’mon Princess let’s get the hell outta here,” he stated.

She dropped her gun back in her purse and ran quickly to his side and he pulled her into a stairwell and they walked quickly down three flights before emerging back to the hallway and taking the elevators the rest of the way to the lobby.  Quickly they jumped in the waiting limo and James sped away with them.

“Am I gonna be in trouble?” she then asked a little nervously.

Randle was smiling so widely he finally laughed out loud.   “I think you know better Princess,” he chuckled out.

“Why’s that?  I actually shot that guy,” she then stated.

“Have I ever let you get in trouble before?  Huh?” he answered.

She smiled back.  “Of course not.”

He grabbed her up and hugged her tightly.  “Well, I guess I finally owe you one,” he then stated rather proudly.

As soon as they made their way up the stairs in the house Randle stated, “I can’t wait to get that trashy dress off of you.”

Lia looked down now smiling.  “Yea, I guess I’d better change.”

Randle took her arm and pulled her passed her bedroom door all the way to his then brought her into the room with him.  “You weren’t listening were you?”

“What?” she exclaimed.

“I said, I was gonna take it off of you,” he then informed her as he slid his hands across the top of her shoulders knocking the dress off and it slipped down her body and landed at her feet.

“You devil,” she whispered in his ear as he kissed his way down her body.

The next morning as they again cuddled under the sheet and kissed Lia finally got the nerve to ask him.  “Randle, when are we gonna get married?”

He loved the enthusiasm on her face now.  “I want my Princess to be a June bride,” he then told her.  “I have our wedding scheduled for the Saturday after your birthday.”

“Awesome,” she exclaimed and smiled widely.  Now she knew he was elated they were finally together.  He already had the wedding planned.

The months wouldn’t pass quickly enough for Lia now.  It was finally the first part of June and the wedding was nearing at last.  She had already gone back to the wedding shop and this time picked out them most elegant dress she could with a long cathedral train and covered with pearls and sequins that made it glimmer vibrantly.  She couldn’t wait for Randle to see her in it.

Finally making their way into his downtown office again, Lia perched as usual next to him on his desk.  Randle was so used to her being there it was if he didn’t even notice but she could tell he was quite happy.

Again Misty came in to bring him the mail and she leered at her as she again left the room.  “Randle you need to fire her already,” she then stated almost as if giving an order.

Randle looked up at her with surprise.  “What?  For what reason?  She does an outstanding job around here,” he then answered.

“I don’t like her.  Any woman who will sleep with a man just to secure a job is a slut,” she then stated bluntly and so glad she had because she wanted to say it for so many months now.

Randle laughed then stood so he could face her.  “Lia I promise you I have never slept with that woman,” he replied whispering so she wouldn’t hear them.

Her eyes widened with doubt.  “You already told me you did,” she exclaimed in a whisper as well but rather sure of herself.

“No I didn’t.  I admitted there had been others.  I never said I slept with Misty,” he continued to whisper.

Lia looked deep into his eyes and almost believed him.  Then he went on.  “Do your really think I’d risk losing my license over a stupid sexual harassment charge?”

Now it was she that was surprised and she felt like a fool.  She knew Randle was far too prominent an attorney to risk losing it all over a fling of pure lust.  For something that meant nothing to him.

“Okay so I believe you.  But I still don’t like her,” she insisted on.

Randle laughed again.  “Oh Princess, if I fired everyone just because you didn’t like them I’d have no employees,” he then teased.

“Ha ha,” she again responded feeling quite the idiot now.

Randle again took his chair.  “Oh, I almost forgot,” she began again.

Randle looked up.  “I’m scared now.”

“No…this is serious,” she prodded.  Randle looked firmly at her now.  “I need to you to make me a doctors appointment.”

“For what?” he asked dumbfounded.

“I think I’m pregnant,” she went on.  “I haven’t had a period in like two months.  I thought it was nerves but…”

Randle’s mouth covered hers in mid-sentence and all she could do now was wrap her arms around his neck and feel relieved that he wasn’t angry.  But of course he wouldn’t be.  Randle Malcolm’s entire dream was about to come true.  He had his Princess at last and now they would start their family together.

“Oh Princess you better not be joking with me,” he finally threatened with all sincerity as he faced her again.

“I’m not.”

Randle fumbled around his desk looking for his cell phone and dialed it quickly and called Dr. Marcell’s office.

“Let’s go, he’s gonna see us right away,” he then told her.

“Us?  I think I’m the one pregnant not you,” she replied jokingly.

“Ha ha,” he retorted as he mocked her acting more excited than she was.

It only took a few minutes for them to reach the doctor’s office building and the nurse took them straight back to one of the examining rooms.

“He’ll be right in,” she then informed them and closed the door behind her.

Randle was squeezing her hand so tightly it began to sweat.  “Would you relax,” she finally told him as she pulled it away and wiped it on her jeans.

Randle could only smile back now as Dr. Marcell finally entered.  “Well Lia you look much better than the last time we met.”

“Yes sir, I’m fine,” she answered nervously.
