She wanted to leave, to get as far away from that crowd as her feet would carry her, and would have at least stepped out for some sun, but Carolyn came to her rescue.

She was Mo’s thirty-five year old kid sister and was the reason for the get together in the first place.

“Hi,” she said, as she sat down beside Nikki.

She was too perfect looking, with a small, narrow face, big, brown eyes, and a smile out of this world.

Nikki could tell as soon as she saw her that Mo loved the ground she walked on.

“Congratulations,” Nikki said to her.

“Oh, thank-you, you’re so sweet.

I’ll be married in two days, and it’s still shocking to me.”

“Will this be your first marriage?”

“Yes.

My very first.

I wanted it to be right, you know?”

Nikki nodded.

“I can relate,” she said with a smile.

“I meant to come by earlier, but you seemed to be having such fun.”

Nikki smiled.

“Maybe too much fun.”

Carolyn frowned.

“Not at all.

Why would you say that?”

“Your big brother didn’t seem that pleased.”

“My big brother’s never pleased.

You mustn’t let him curtail your fun.

He’s a conservative tight ass.”

Nikki laughed.

“Don’t you know that already?” Carolyn asked with a laugh of her own.

“You hear me?” she went on.

“You enjoy yourself.”

“I will.

Thanks.”

“And thank-you for coming, I appreciate it.

Maybe before the wedding we can spend some time together.

I would love for you to meet some of my friends.”

“I’ll like that, Carolyn.

That’s nice of you.”

“Good.”

And then she kind of stared at Nikki.

“Mo tells me you’re a liberal reporter.”

Yes, Mo would put it that way.

“Yes,” Nikki replied.

“I’m a liberal and I’m a reporter, although I try to be objective.”

She often fail at it, she thought privately, but she does try.

“That sounds so fascinating.

To be able to report the news to everybody.

Do you like it?”

“Oh, yes.”

“She loves it,” a voice said over Carolyn’s shoulder and she at first attempted to look over her shoulder, but Mo was too tall.

She turned around.

“Where did you come from?

I thought Aunt Miriam had you held hostage.”

Mo smiled.

“She did.

I see you’ve met, Nikki.”

“Oh, yes,” Carolyn said, looking now at Nikki.

“I liked her instantly.

You have excellent taste, big brother.”

Nikki smiled.

It was good to know that she was on her side.

Mo, however, just stared at her.

And then he reached out his hand.

“Come on,” he said.

“Let’s get out of here.”

“Where are we going?” Nikki asked as she stood with her hand in Mo’s.

“Now, now, don’t question it, Nikki,” Carolyn said, standing too.

“He’s got to show you off a little, that’s all.”

Mo smiled and looked at his sister.

“What do you know about it?”

“I know you, that’s what I know about it,” she said playfully.

“She’s got it going on and you’re proud to point it out.

I think it’s so romantic.”

“Oh, geez,” Mo said and began guiding Nikki away.

“Let’s just get out of here.”

Both Carolyn and Nikki laughed as Mo smoothly but definitely swooped his lady love away.

TEN

Key West is the southernmost city in the continental United States and they, at first, drove along the edges.

Although it had a reputation of glamour, it seemed more sedate to Nikki, like a quaint little fishing village with the occasional tourist spots.

But once Mo stopped the car and they took a walk around Duval Street, and around Mallory Square, she understood the attraction.

There was a romantic feel to the place, as she and Mo walked hand in hand, and the friendliness of the people, and the festiveness, made Nikki relax.

They walked around and drove around and Mo showed her it all.

From Sloppy Joe’s Bar to Truman’s Little White House to Hemingway’s place.

He seemed to know so many of the locals and so many of the locals seemed thrilled to see him again.

But he also showed her the lesser known watering holes, non-tourist packed places he enjoyed, such as The Lonely Lane Hot Spot and a place called Spider’s, where the best crab legs Nikki had ever eaten were fried on a grill and tossed on her plate.

They even danced together at Spider’s, which was wonderful, and it was the first time she slow-dragged in her life.

Mo held onto her and led the way, and she leaned against him and let him do his thing.

Most of the music, such as Andy Williams singing
Moon River
or Frank Sinatra singing
One For My Baby
, didn’t exactly turn her on, but one song, Rod Stewart’s
Tonight’s the Night
with that edgy, sexy voice of his, was perfect.

She looked up at Mo as he held her in his expert slow-drag.

When he smiled that wonderful smile of his, and pulled her closer against him, it was the best dance she’d ever had.

But then, and so suddenly that it startled her, he slung her around as if she were a ballerina and dipped her across his arm.

She looked at him, to make sure he knew what he was doing, and he smiled even wider.

“This, my dear, is what you call dancing,” he said.

She laughed.

On the road again after hours of sightseeing and hanging out and enjoying the energy of the city, and they were heading back to Old Town.

At least that was where she thought they were heading.

They detoured, however, and ended up driving along some shadowy streets and quiet lanes that eventually led to a place called the Motel Deluxe, a kind of Motel 6 with even less frills.

Mo pulled up under the canopy outside of the motel’s lobby and she looked at him.

She knew what time it was, he wanted a quick hit before they returned to his parents’ home, but she just couldn’t resist playing crazy.

“Why are we stopping here?” she asked him, trying her best not to smile.

“This doesn’t look like your mama’s house to me.”

“I thought I’d show you what one of these rooms look like,” he said, and with a straight face too.

Nikki almost laughed, but didn’t.

“You’re going to show me what a room inside this motel looks like?”

“Right.”

“Why?”

“I thought it would be something interesting for you to see.”

“Have you ever stayed at a motel like this before in your life, Mo?”

He smiled.

He couldn’t hold it in any longer.

He laughed.

“Okay, you got me.

But I came close once.”

He said this and looked at her.

His bright blue eyes trailed down, to Nikki’s chest, and when he looked back up at her, his smile was gone.

“I thought we’d take an hour or two and relax.”

“Relax?”

“Yes.”

“Not that I have anything against this Motel Deluxe, but I would relax better at the Marriott or somewhere like that.”

He laughed.

“Okay,” he said and began to crank up his car.

She touched his arm.

“I’m just kidding, Mo.”

“No, you’re absolutely right.

We can go there.

This was just on the way back home.”

“This is fine,” Nikki said.

“Really.”

“You’re sure?”

“I’m positive.

If you had wanted me to spend the night here with you, yes, I would have a problem with that.

But you just want to fuck me and leave.

This is as good a place as any for that.”

Mo shook his head, smiling as he did.

“You sure know how to make a man feel like an asshole, don’t you?”

“What did I say?”

“You sure know how to keep a guy honest, I’ll give you that,” he said to her and then cranked back up and drove her, with her smiling all the way, to the Marriott near Smathers Beach.

They needed a radio to mute the quickly escalating sounds, but there was no radio handy.

The television would have to do.

Nikki grabbed the remote and quickly started clicking through the channels, searching for a noisy channel, like MTV.

Mo was already on top of her, his dick already deep within her, and he was moaning and groaning and pumping hard, as if their two week sexual abstention had him nearly frenetic with need.

The bed was squeaking loudly from their weight and bounce, the sweat pouring from both of them and feeling slippery, like oil, turning them on even more, but MTV had on a commercial and BET had on a movie, so she clicked on VH1.

A tribute to Michael Jackson and his groundbreaking videos was on, and they were going way back, when Michael had a short jheri-curled Afro, dark skin, didn’t have his dance moves down yet, and was singing
Rock With You
.

But his voice was so soft that she had to turn the volume up as loud as it could go, because she knew her time was near and she would be carrying on as if somebody was killing her.

As the feeling intensified she finally threw the remote down and grabbed onto Mo, her legs curled against his back as he moaned and groaned and pumped his ass off.

And she was grateful for the music because it was clear that Mo’s sexiness, and the way he felt inside of her, was too much to contain.

For she preferred that their hotel neighbors believed they were partying too loud, than for them to hear what was really going on.

Because she began to scream.

It started when Mo thrashed into her and stalled, his rod just sitting there, as her vaginal walls tightened around him.

And then he slid in and out in a less frenetic pace, and he scraped her walls as he slid in and out.

And this became his new rhythm.

It was steadier, but the feeling was even more intense.

And before long she was there.

Her body was ready.

She lifted up, unable to bear it, but Mo slammed her down, and continued to lay it on her until she was squeezing the sheets, sliding down the bed, nearly passing out as his penis went deep down into her deepest spot and pulsated, and then electrified her.

Mo felt the electricity too.

He felt it to the most hollowed-out inch of his bones.

He looked down at her wonderful brown nakedness and he wanted to cry.

Because he loved her. He loved her to the depths of his very humanity.

His penis popped off deep inside her, as he thought about just how much he cared for this woman, in a release that caused him to stretch every muscle in his body.

And that same body shuddered, and then sputtered, but kept sliding in and almost out of her, in and almost out, over and over, like a man who had nothing more to give, but still couldn’t give this up.

They didn’t make it back to his parents’ home until the next day.

Around noon the next day.

That wasn’t the plan when they first arrived at the beachside hotel, but after their first sexual encounter, Mo knew he was going to want more before the night was out.

And he did get more, and got it repeatedly.

But when they arrived back at his parents’ home, their romantic peacefulness hit a snag.
