Chapter 1

Justin

I thrust harder as sweat poured off my chest rolling onto hers.

“Oh. Ohh. Yes. God. YES! Harder! Harder! YES!” She…well, I couldn’t call it screaming...she was talking. Each word was coming out as a statement it seemed and it was annoying as hell. She seemed pretty cool in the bar…
Come on already!
Is she gonna come yet? I wasn’t gonna be able to hold out much longer. When we first came back to my place, she was all about quick and dirty. She kissed amazing and I thought for sure she’d be great in bed, but instead she was pretty much just annoying me now with her over-dramatic statements.

“Ohhhh. Yes. Right. There. Keep. Going!” She “statemented” for what seemed to be the hundredth time. She even had a shrill voice on top of it, which made me lose concentration.

Fuck it! I’m not waiting on her anymore. I thought of Jordan. I thought of everything I ever wanted to do to her and with her. I remembered how sweet her mouth tasted on mine. I thought of her gorgeous full lips, her long gorgeous brown hair, her deep green eyes and her perfect breasts. I felt myself build up towards a great climax. “Uh, yeah, Jordan, fuck yeah.” I came hard and collapsed on top of her.

“What the fuck was that? Who the hell is Jordan?” She pushed me off her as I rolled onto my side.
Shit
. I called out Jordan’s name again, didn’t I? Fuck it. It didn’t matter. She wasn’t Jordan, so I didn’t care who I was with or if she left. Matter of fact, I’d prefer she just leave.

“Are you gay? Is Jordan a guy?” She huffed as she blew her blonde, sweaty bangs out of her eyes and sat up.

I busted out laughing, “Sweetheart, Jordan is definitely not a guy and I am definitely not gay.”

“So you just called out another girl’s name in the middle of sex? You didn’t even let me finish,” she snapped out as she put her bra back on and adjusted it.

“Fuck, how long were you gonna take? You were screaming the same freaking thing for 10 minutes now! It was getting pretty old!” I was staring up at the ceiling, silently willing her to leave.

She huffed again and jumped up, grabbing her jeans off the floor. “You’re an asshole! Just like all the girls say!” I glanced back at her and watched as she stuck each leg into her jeans. Nice legs. Why didn’t I notice them before? I had one to many beers and began to wonder what she really looked like without beer goggles.

I snickered, “then why’d you jump into bed with me?” She’s like all the rest. Just want to see why all the other girls want to sleep with me. Although usually I make sure they enjoy it more. Usually, I’m really good in bed. I make sure the girls want to keep coming back for more. Lately, I haven’t cared too much about the girls I’m with though. For some reason, I keep thinking more and more about Jordan. More than usual, that is.

“Fuck you,” she shouted back at me as she walked out through my bedroom door, slamming it. Immediately after, I heard some voices. It must be Owen and Amy coming back from the bar. “Whoa!” I heard Owen exclaim as he laughed. Then the front door slammed shut. I heard Owen and Amy say something I couldn’t make out while they laughed and went to his room.

Just then my phone rang, “I’d Come For You.” Jordan. I know, double entendre. Jordan uploaded the ringtone to my phone because she loved the song and told me that it was a romantic song. She also told me that someday we’d be together and the song would have more meaning to it. Lately, it seemed more fitting since I could only picture her when I was coming. Damn I’m funny. She always loved that song and the irony of using that song for whenever she called was perfect.
I answered, laughing at the absurdity of the ringtone and timing of her call. “Talk to me babe.”

Giggling, she replied, “You just slept with some chick, didn’t you?” She always knew.
Dammit.

“How’d you guess?’

“Because you’re laughing that weird laugh! Was she any good?” She teased.

They would never be as good as I know you’ll be.
“Nah, she was annoying,” I chuckled as I lay back, putting my arm behind my head while fluffing the pillow under my head. God I love talking to her. “What’s up pretty girl?”

“Nothing, we just got back from the bar and I thought I’d call you.” She giggled again and seemed to be talking way to loud.

“Are you drunk?” I chuckled again. I love when she’s drunk. She’s so cute and fun to talk to. It really makes me wish I were there with her.

“A little, maybe...Maybe…a lot actuuually,” she slurred.

“How much did you drink?” I couldn’t help but snicker at her.

“A LOT,” she screamed out. Then she shh’d herself and whispered, “Gotta keep it down. Can’t have our RA coming in here. Although…have I told you how
adorable
he is?” I could picture her nodding her head emphatically, smiling huge and telling me this.

“Yes, you’ve told me and you know I don’t want to hear about that crap. Not to mention, we both know him.” I closed my eyes and shook my head trying to remove the image of her checking out another guy from my mind.

“I know, shhh….I know, I won’t talk about him again,” she giggled and told someone to lower their voice.

“Who’s there with you?” I sat up, hoping it wasn’t a guy. Last thing I needed was to have to think about that.

“Kelli…Kelli’s here but heading back to her room,” she managed to slur out the words.

I relaxed again.

So what’d you girls do? Just drink and dance?” I grabbed my football off the floor and lay back down, tossing it up in the air.

“Yeah.” Then she huffed and I could practically hear her pouting over the phone as she wailed, “I didn’t even find a guy cute enough to give my number to.”
Thank fuck!
“We danced…a lot though. We had our harem dance going!” She practically screamed the last part out while laughing.

“What? What’s a harem dance?” I chuckled.

“You know, where all us girls dance together, but scope out guys we’d rather be dancing with!” She huffed as if I was supposed to know that.

“I had no idea it was called a harem dance,” I stated plainly as I tossed the football back up in the air again.

“It’s not called that, it’s what I call it. We look like a harem waiting around for guys to join us,” She giggled as she explained her new term.

“Hmm, I like that, Harem Dance. I’ll think of that tomorrow night when I’m out.”

“You mean tonight! It’s one o’clock in the morning,” she pointed out matter of fact.

I glanced over at my alarm clock, noting she was correct. “Hmm, so it is.” I paused, “So it’s definitely over with you and that jackass?”
Please say that you finally kicked him to the curb.

“Whhyy? Why’d you bring him up?” She whined. “Tonight was all about forgetting him. You’re not helping any. Kelli will kick your ass for bringing him up, you know,” she stated boldly.

“Sorry. Just asking. Kelli’s a small chick, I can take her,” I joked while trying to change the subject.

“There will be no taking of my friends, thank you,” she almost screamed out.

“I didn’t mean that and no, I don’t want any of your friends.”
Just you.

“Why not? What’s wrong with my friends?” she snapped.

I took a deep breath thinking about how quickly this conversation took a nosedive. “You know what I mean. They’re cute, but I’d never fuck your friends.”
Only you and it wouldn’t be fucking. It would be making love slow, deep and so intense.
I adjusted myself because of the chub I got just thinking about her. “So, you’ll be home for Thanksgiving, right?”

She sighed and slowly said, “I was actually thinking of going to Kelli’s instead.”

I caught the football again and sat up quickly, my heart pounding, or rather screaming ‘NO!’ Or was that my head screaming that? “I…why would you do that?” I stammered, scared that might actually happen.

“You know why. Mom and I aren’t getting along, it’ll just be the two of us. That’s kind of depressing,” she sighed again.

Think asshole
. “Whu…uhh, isn’t your Dad going to come to town to visit?” I managed to finally stutter out.

“No, he’ll just probably call me. I think Mom was talking about going on a cruise anyway.”

“My house,” I blurted out. “Uh, come to my house. You know you’re always welcome there.” I started biting my nails, a horrible habit I have. “Mom loves you and hasn’t seen you in a while,” I said in between gnawing.

“Stop biting your nails,” she snapped at me as she giggled at the same time. How’d she know? “And she saw me at the end of summer, you goofball.” I could tell she was rolling her eyes at me.

“Don’t roll your eyes,” I snapped at her the same way, more out of annoyance that she snapped about my nail biting. “And my parents love you. They’d love to have you over.” Not to mention the rest of my annoying family that’ll probably be coming over.

“I don’t know. That seems kind of pathetic that I go home and none of my family is there, but I go to yours for dinner. I’d just prefer to go to Kelli’s. Then it’s right here, I don’t have to do that whole holiday travel thing and pay for a bus ticket. It’s just easier.” Fuck, I was losing this battle.

“Well, umm, just don’t make any decisions yet. Just…just think about it.”

“I will. Thank you for the invite.” She paused and then took a deep breath. I could hear her smile through the phone. I was hoping her next words would be that she would love to come home for Thanksgiving, but that’s not what she said. “Hey…do you…do you remember when Jennie took you for the first time into the closet for ‘seven minutes’?”

Hell yeah, I remembered. That was the first time I went into the closet after I mastered my kissing technique…with Jordan. I swallowed, unsure of where she was going with this. “Yeah, why?”

With a sexy, husky voice she said, “You never told me what happened in there.” It gave me chills.

Slowly, I reminded her, “Well, that’s because we agreed never to talk about what happens with someone else. Part of the Nick Rules, remember?”

“Mmmm. Yeah. You’re right.” I could hear the wheels turning in her head. I wanted to ask what she was thinking, but I was worried she would start down the path that would make either of us jealous of the other.

It was our rule, well really Nick’s rule, but we modified it that we would never talk about what happened when we were with someone else. You know, sexually or for that age it was more just kissing back then. Nick’s original rule was that we don’t do that stuff to begin with. He must have forgotten what it was like to be young with a crap load of hormones.

She sighed deeply, “I think I’m gonna pass out. I’ll talk to you tomorrow or something, okay?”

“Yeah, call me tomorrow.” I still wasn’t sure where she was going with that question. Maybe I’ll ask her when we’re both sober tomorrow.

“Okay, good. Well, sweet dreams, my Lancelot.” She put emphasis on ‘Lancelot’ as if she were on Broadway.

“Good night, my Guinevere.” Her phone clicked off and I stared at my phone for a minute more. One day we’ll be together, but right now, we’ll just enjoy our freedom. I’m hoping she’s not enjoying too much of hers though. I hate the thought of her with someone else. Not talking about it is just easier.

Of course, I still kept thinking back to our last conversation about “us” before I left for college. I rolled on to my side wondering how things would have turned out different if I had just told her I loved her. If I had just told her I wanted her as my girlfriend instead of telling her we would always just be best friends. It was all because I was too anxious to get to college and have my “fun.”

******

Two Years Earlier

It was the end of the summer and Jordan had been back for a week from visiting her Dad in Des Moines. We were coming back from a party at our friend’s house. Tyler’s parents were out of town and he and his brothers decided to throw a huge bash. Jordan and I left just in time, considering we passed a couple of cop cars driving up to the house with their sirens blaring. I guess having a curfew wasn’t so bad after all. I pulled my old, dark green ‘77 Bronco into my driveway. My brother and I rebuilt it together and it was my pride and joy.

Jordan’s mom didn’t give her a curfew, but
she always left the parties with me. She said it made it easier since we lived next door to each other and her friends wouldn’t have to go out of their way to drop her off. It also made sense to me, but I always felt bad that she had to leave the parties early.

She frowned at me tilting her head and whined for the hundredth time, “Who’s going to drive me home from parties from now on?” For a while now she was asking things like that. I was leaving for college next week and anything we did together; she asked the same type of question. Considering we were practically inseparable, I tried to ignore all her whiny comments.

I gave her a smile, slightly shaking my head, “I’m sure Jennie or Maria will be happy to drive you home. It won’t be so bad. Wait and see; you’ll barely miss me.” I was having my own conflicting feelings. I was going to miss her so much, but at the same time I was anxious to head off to college and have fun. I heard way too many stories about how great college was from Nick. He was just about to graduate and he didn’t really want to leave and go into the ‘real world.’ So he raved about college, telling me all the parties and all the college chicks I’d have fun with. Needless to say, I was more than anxious to get there.
