“It’s
going to be wonderful to be able to have her with us. I want to get to know her
better. Sadly I never was able to spend much time with her.”

“I
definitely don’t want her remaining here with that outside and without the
security team in place. Besides, Mother won’t be very pleased with us all so
it’s best she comes off planet for the first while.” They made their way back
through the house and locked the front door. On the street he opened the door
to the conveyance and helped her inside. Slipping in next to her, he got them
moving with instructions to the onboard computer and sat back to wrap her up in
his arms.

“She’ll
use anything she can in order to stop us. If Cecilia is helping us, then she
will also be gone after,
which bothers me a great deal.
We’ll do whatever we need to in order to keep her safe.
Right?”

“Of
course we will,” he told her. Stroking his hand over her hair, he pressed a
kiss to her forehead. “Put it out of your head for now. We can only deal with
what is right in front of us. At this moment that is getting back to our rooms.
After that we’ll plan our next step. Now relax and let everything clear out of
your head piece by piece.”

“That
sounds good to me. I look forward to being able to have every single second in
time with you.” She was putting everything out of her mind except for the right
there and right then with him. She shifted and pressed a kiss to his cheek.

He
returned the kiss but on her lips. “I love you, little one. Now, close your
eyes, rest your head to me, and let everything go.”

Sadie
did just as he asked. She closed her eyes and rested her head to his shoulder.
“I will let you take care of me like I know you will.” It was good to be able
to lean on him as she was.

“Always,
Sadie, you know that.” Shifting slightly, he pulled her in closer. He stayed
silent after that and let her relax in peace, his fingers slowly moving over
and through her hair.

She
knew that with him holding her, with him at her side, life was exactly what
they would need.
Period.
Life was very good, in her
opinion.
