It
seemed like the walk to Danny’s truck took forever. Damon did nothing but
complain and Danny stayed silent. I remained silent as well. I had nothing to
say. I was so angry and scared. My mind went back to Dakota and his expression
when I left him. I pushed the thought away. I didn’t want to think about Dakota
right now.

“Finally,”
Damon muttered as we approached the truck parked off the road.

Danny
pulled his keys out of his pocket and Damon snatched them out of Danny’s hand.
“I will be driving,” Damon growled.

Danny
rolled his eyes and climbed into the passenger seat. I got in the backseat
behind Danny. “How far are we from Luna?” I asked quietly.

“About
three hours or more. You should try to get some rest if you can,” Damon said
glancing at me through the rearview mirror.

“I’m
fine,” I said then looked out the window as Damon set off. I couldn’t shake the
fear that my friends and family were going to get hurt. If they did get hurt I
would never be able to live with myself.

We
passed welcome sign and I felt my stomach tighten. It was still light out so
the town was relatively quiet. My fear that it was quiet because everyone was
dead wouldn’t get out of my mind. “Go to my parent’s house,” I said as I sat on
the edge of the seat looking around. I wanted to see my mother and father. I
was worried about them the most. I figured Elijah would go after them first.

As
soon as Damon pulled into the driveway I jumped out before he could even put
the truck in park. “Damn it Kylie wait!” Damon growled, but I didn’t care I
needed to see them.

I
ran into the house and went to the living room. My father looked up at me
first. My mother, Maggie, Brayden, and Dominic were in the room. “Daddy,” I
said worried as he hurried over to me. I hugged him and relief washed over me.

“I
am so glad you are safe,” my mother said hugging me too.

“Why
did you come back?” Dominic asked looking worried.

“I
thought…” I started confused then I heard Damon cussing.

“Kylie,
the son of a bitch lied,” he yelled as he came in the room.

“Where
did he go?” I asked horrified.

“Where
do you think? Fuck!” Damon yelled and punched the wall.

Fear
rushed through me. I knew he went to get Elijah. I couldn’t believe I was so
stupid.

“Kylie
who brought you back here?” Brayden sounded confused as he spoke. His tone just
confused me more. I thought they would have been expecting me.

“Danny.
He said Elijah was here and that he was threatening to kill everyone if I
didn’t return,” I said starting to panic.

“Damn
it! He probably went to get Elijah. We have to do something before Elijah gets
here,” Dominic said sounding worried.

“Don’t
bother, I’m already here,” an amused male voice said from the doorway.

I
turned around and was face to face with Elijah. I felt my chest tighten with
fear. Dominic and Brayden stepped in front of me. I knew this wasn’t going to
end well.
