 Chapter Eight

I stepped in and turned right.

“Oops.” I almost bumped into a hunky security guard.  His
carefully-tailored black suit looked much more professional than my outfit.

“Ms. Danvers?” He smiled at me.

“Yes.” My voice was wavering.
Is he waiting for me?
Didn’t the front desk girl ask me to look for the Pacific room myself?

“Follow me, please.” He led the way.

It was a long hallway with large meeting rooms on both
sides.  After what seemed like forever, he opened a door.

“Come in, please.”

Well dressed and perfectly elegant, Ms. Simon had an easy-going
air.

After asking me to call her ‘Nancy’, she chatted with me for
a few minutes, asking about classes.

My belly tightened when ‘how was the traffic?’ escaped her red-painted
lips.

You couldn’t imagine that a pre-med student couldn’t afford
a car or the outrageous parking costs in downtown Manhattan?

Then you wouldn’t understand why I was wearing my
perfect-for-campus outfit, right?

Holy crap, my job opportunity is doomed.

“Not bad,” I tried to hide my smirk.
Whatever, I have
nothing to lose, right?

“So, you understand the responsibility of this job, right?”

“Yes, I do.” I said, looking at the ceiling to try to
remember the list in the job description.

“Check the blood pressure twice a day.”

“Right.” Her voice sounded satisfied.

“Make sure the patient takes the medicine.”

“The client.” She corrected me right away.

“Right, the client.  What else…”

“Monitor the client’s medical status twenty four, seven.”

I took a deep breath.  Boy, this was the part I couldn’t
understand.  Was this client badly ill?

“Any questions?” Nancy smiled at me.

“I’m not sure what you want me to do twenty-four seven.”

“Watch.” She smiled.

“And then?”

“Do nothing.”

“What?” My eyes widened.

“Nothing.” She repeated.  “The client wants someone close
by.  That’s it.”

“So why does the client need someone to monitor them?”

“Most of the time,” She looked into my eyes. “You will only
talk with the client so he can calm down.”

“What if that doesn’t work?”

Boy.  Butterflies were dancing in my belly now.

“Then call 911 to get an ambulance.”

Jesus Christ, the client must be very ill.

“You think you can do it?”

I thought for a few moments and then said, “Maybe not twenty
four seven though.  You know…”

“Sure, you will have enough time for your personal needs.”
Before I could say anything, she asked, “What’s your payment expectation?”

I thought for a while and said a number, three bucks above
the minimum hourly wage.  I believed that I was worth a bit more than that for
this job but I didn’t want to take the risk.

“How about this?” She passed me a piece of paper.

My head turned dizzy the moment I saw the number. It was
more than I could ever dream of.

“You okay with it?” She smiled.

“Uh-huh.  Oh, yeah.”

“So, when can you start?  Do you need to give notice to your
current employer?”

“I can start today.  Oh, um…, tomorrow.” I decided to go
back to that store and pay for the business suit after all.

“Very good.  Let’s go and see the client.  He will make the
final decision.”

She stood up and opened the door for me.

We took the elevator up.  I was now in another spacious
lobby even more luxurious than the previous one.

“Please wait here.” Nancy pointed to a waiting area with
large leather couches.

She proceeded to the front desk, and talked to the pretty
blonde girl. We waited.

After a few moments, she chatted with the girl again.

“Let’s go.” She walked back to me with a big smile.

The front desk girl pushed a button under her desk.  The
solid wood door behind her opened.

“Good luck.” Nancy smiled at me.

“Thank you.” I smiled back.

I stepped in and closed the door behind me.  Making a left
turn, I saw a large circular office with a huge desk in the middle.  Behind the
desk sat a man, reading something.

He must be the client.

I walked to him slowly, not sure what to say.

He raised his head to look at me.

What?

My heartbeats doubled.  It was Mr. Mystery.

“Hi.” I put up a small smile.

“Your name?” He stared at me.

What the hell.  Hadn’t you asked my name and fucked me a
few days ago?

“Is this your resume?” He showed me the piece of paper he
had been reading.

“Yes, it is.” I answered matter-of-factly.

“What’s your name?” He stared harder.

Jesus Christ.  What a weirdo.  My name was on my resume,
right?

“Roxy…”

“Roxy Danvers.” His voice was razor-edged.

Holy fuck, this jerk is rude.  I couldn’t understand why
I’d grown feelings for him in the first place.

“Any questions?”

You are interviewing me, right? Shouldn’t you ask me
questions first?

I was
not
impressed by this silly interview at all.

I thought hard and asked, “Mr. Woodward…”

“Grant.”

I faked a huge smile.
Fuck you.

“Okay, Grant, what’s my responsibility for the twenty-four
seven monitoring?  Are you on medicine?”

“My fucking doctors said I was dying.”

“What? Dying?”

“Cancer.  Six months to live.  And they want me to take the
stupid medicine.”

“I’m sorry to hear that, Mr… um… Grant.  I can help with the
medicine as well as the other treatments.”

“No fucking need. I’m
not
sick.”

“But the doctors…”

“They are so fucking wrong.”  He raised his arm, his fingers
clenched into a tight fist, his biceps rising high. “Do I look sick at all?”

“But medical science today…”

“No fucking science.  Your job is to stay with me twenty
four hours a day, seven days a week
.”

“What?  You mean… I can’t go home?”

“No.  Didn’t Nancy make this clause clear?”

I shook my head.

“I want you to stay in my condo and do everything I ask.”

Gosh, now I realize what’s going on.  He knows he’s
dying. So he wants to have as much pleasure as possible with me.

I stood up and shook my head.

“Didn’t you agree with the total surrender?”

“That was different.”

“Try me.”

“That was for affection.  But I don’t want to get paid for being
in bed with you.”  I stopped for a moment and then looked right into his eyes.
“Sorry, Mr. Woodward.”

I turned around and walked to the door.

“Fucking Jesus.  Stop.”

I ignored the yelling and sped up…

I’m working on my homework quietly in the kitchen, waiting
for Mom to get home.  It was swim meet night. I had all my gear near the door,
and all of a sudden, I hear stumbling and a drunken giggle and Colton’s
baritone laugh. He’s brought home a
girl.

My body tenses and I’m practically shaking as I try to
gather my textbooks. I have to get into my room before they see me.

Too late, I realize, as they stomp noisily in to the
kitchen. My heart sinks.

“Hey, Stella.”  The girl smiles at me.

What? You?
I can’t believe my eyes.

I look at her, my jaw dropping to the floor.  My heartbeat
doubles.  Gosh, I can’t believe it.  It’s my fucking bestie, Julie!

She always wanted Colton.
“Hey, Stella, why don’t I hook up with Colton?”   Her smile was so lustful and
eager.

“No fucking way, Julie.” I rolled my eyes.

“Why not?  You can’t have him anyway.”

She holds my arm tight.  Her carefully painted purple nails
cut deep into my tender skin.  “Oh, please, Stella…”

I struggle to free my arm.  “Who said I can’t…”
Oops!

My cheeks turn burning hot.

“Whoa, Stella, you serious?  You want to fuck him?  Your own
stepbrother?”  Her eyes were shining.  “Oh, boy… I wish I had a stepbrother
like that.”

“Shut up and get out of here.” I mumble, blushing all over.
Gosh, this was so freaking embarrassing.

Now she’s standing right in front of me, with Colton holding
her curvy body tight.

“Um…” I take a deep breath to calm down and then put up the
best fake smile I can at the moment. “Oh, hi…”

“This is Julie.  I guess you guys have met.” Now Colton is
giving me shit.  How could he not know that Julie and I are besties?

“Yeah, I know Julie.”  I stare at him.
Fuck you, Colton!

“Julie and I are going to have a little chat if you don’t
mind.”  Before I can figure out what to say, he lands a big kiss on Julie’s
waiting cheek and grins. “Let’s go.”

They go into his room upstairs.  Seconds later, I hear
moaning, first from Julie, and then Colton joining…

Chapter One

STELLA

Gosh. I am so wrong. My lust for my scorching hot
stepbrother is just…
sinful.
But I can’t get Colton’s hot body out of my
head. Six foot four, broad and chiseled from a lifetime of football. I fall
asleep knowing he’s in the room right next to mine, separated only by a thin
wall.

I dream about him, crushing me with that gorgeous body, and
I wake up each morning with a soaked g-string.

We were little when our parents got married. We became
inseparable, we did everything together.  We were the best kind of brother and
sister: the type that didn’t ever even fight. Then one day, we just stopped
looking at each other like brother and sister…

When things changed, it was so slow, I didn’t notice.

We were on summer vacation from high school, watching some
dumb summer horror flick rerun.

Suddenly, I notice his eyes on mine.

“Stella?” he whispers with a slight frown. “You okay?”

Damn it.
He’d realized that I’d been staring at
him
instead of the movie.

“…just zoned out…this movie is
terrible,”
I mumble.
I looked down, and he had a total hard-on under his basketball shorts.

My face flushed instantly.

I quickly turned away, my heart racing with a sudden realization.

Oh, God, he wants me, too!

That afternoon, I heard his baritone laugh downstairs in
the kitchen, and even though I was safe in my own room, his footsteps made me
wince. I hear them come closer and closer. He stops in front of my door. There
was a second’s pause, before the sound went down the hall.

I squeeze my eyes shut, imagine that he had come in after
all. I wanted him to come in and press my resting form into my mattress.

The thought alone makes my pussy wet and set my cheeks to
a blush.

I slide my hand under the waistband of my panties, softly
fingering my cleft.

Colton…

After that day, a casual brush of his fingers inflamed my
whole body…and one look from me can get him totally hard.

By the time summer was over, I had to admit it. I
was in
love
with him.

How can I not be?  Colton is made of the stuff of every
girl’s dream.  Quarterback of the football team.  Charm, wit, and the cutest
crooked smile.

His chiseled chin can cut through glass.  His lips… oh,
those sexy lips, I wish I could taste them just once.

And the best part is, it didn’t matter that the super
popular girls always followed him around, he always paid attention to
me
first.

And his gaze? It can make you feel like a goddess. His
eyes always said, “I want you as much as you want me.”

Sometimes, when we’re in the house alone, I get worried.
I worry that one day, we won’t be able to act like stepsiblings anymore.  The
tension is so palpable when my parents are out of the house. I can’t even be in
the same room with him anymore without wanting to jump his bones. And he’s
always touching me.

I just had to keep reminding me that he’s my stepbrother.

It got so close once.

I was in the kitchen, fixing myself a peanut butter and
jelly sandwich.

Colton casually reaches up behind me for something in the
cupboard.

He rests his hand on my hip for balance, but his grip is
so tight.

And he’s smelling my hair, slowly grinding his hips up and
down against my ass.

I can feel him through the thin fabric of his boxers. His
erection was hard and hot, and though I pretended to still make my sandwich, my
hips ground back against him, pressing his hard-on harder against me.

He was so close, his hands gliding along my body.

As I turn to face him, the harsh grinding of the garage
door tear us back into reality.

Our parents were home!

He’s out of the kitchen so fast, it leaves me breathless.

I’m shaking under the realization that we were
almost
caught!

Lord, I can’t allow this to happen.

That’s when I began to avoid him. When we spoke, I was
curt, my tone flat. We were never in a room alone. If he stepped in, I would
step out.

“Are you mad at me?” he asks one day, cornering me in the
hallway.

“No, Colton, we’re fine,” I smile, but I couldn’t look him
in the eyes.

“You
are
mad! Whatever I’ve done, don’t hate me!”
he insists, but I push past him and slip into the bathroom, locking the door.

I can see that he’s hurt by my behavior…I wish I could
tell him that I don’t hate him, that I love him really and truly, but this is
for the good of the both of us…and for the whole family.

So, I add more ‘thank you’s’ and ‘pleases’, acting like a
total stranger around him.  I know that these are the daggers I throw at him.
They hit him in his chest, going in deep.  His heart is bleeding.

Sorry, Colton.
Each time he stomps away and slams
shut his door, I feel so terrible.  My heart is crying… and bleeding, too.

all kinds of noises, much louder than necessary.  I bet Colton did this on
purpose.  With our parents on vacation, he wants to make me feel jealous by
fucking my bestie.

God, I hate him!
