The light hurt my eyes so much I had to keep my eyes closed. Dan’s grip on my arm was very tight, or maybe I had lost so much weight that my bone was a lot closer to the surface than it was before.

“There’s your change of clothes right there.” He pointed to a pile of clothes similar to the ratty ones I was already wearing on the bathroom counter. I turned around to glare at Dan before he left but I was surprised to see him grab a chair and sit down.

“What are you doing?” I asked him. I didn’t even recognize my own voice. It had lost its fervor, its natural happiness.

“You think I’m going to leave you in here alone? Don’t worry, I have my entertainment,” he said as he grabbed a book from the shelf and started reading it.

I shook my head, trying to stop myself from crying. I turned on the water first so it could get hot while I undressed. It hurt to pull my shirt up over my head, same thing when I stepped out of my pants. I caught a glimpse of my naked body in the mirror and almost screamed. My ribs had found the surface, same thing with my collarbone and even my cheekbones. My hair was unrecognizable…just gone.

“You only have ten minutes.” I gasped when Dan’s voice brought me out of my stupor. I quickly shielded myself and jumped in the shower, catching his eyes on me. I was surprised to notice that his eyes were sad when he looked at me, and he had to look away.

Once I was in the shower I didn’t stop the tears from falling, no one would notice. I washed myself everywhere but didn’t try anything with my hair, it was a lost cause.

“I’m so sorry about this, Tamara.”

“Ah!” I screamed when I felt his hand on me. He spun me around and clasped his hand over my mouth.

“Shh, don’t worry. Don’t scream, okay?” His eyes bored right into mine, it was such a weird feeling. I nodded, telling him I wouldn’t scream again.

“What are you doing?” I asked as I took in his fully clothed form, despite the shower.

“Something that I have been wanting to do, but I know I shouldn’t.” My breathing was becoming very erratic, and I could feel my body changing --wanting him?

He reached for the hem of his shirt and pulled it off easily, exposing his chiseled and impressive physique. He grabbed my hand and put it over his chest, where I could feel his beating heart.

“A-and w-what is that?” My voice was so shaky and breathless. Maybe it was because I hadn’t had any intimate contact in so long, but just feeling his body close to mine; the warmth, the obvious desire…I might have...

“Wow, I’ve got you.” He caught me before my legs could quiver and give out. I felt the vibration throughout my whole body, the tremors. I steadied myself on his forearms, mesmerized by how cut he was.

“This doesn’t make any sense,” I whispered. How could I feel like this for the man that has turned my life upside down? How could I want him?

“I know…but it just is.” He held my face in his hands and brought my face up to look at him.

My bottom lip quivered as he leaned down, his face was so close to mine I could feel his breath on my face and his lips brush against mine. He lingered for a while before he pressed his lips to mine and my whole body caught on fire. His lips moved against mine so easily, so perfectly, until our tongues met and danced until I needed to breathe. I broke away, gasping. Our eyes met in the same fervor, I imagined mine were as dark with desire as his.

His hands moved down my body, pressing my hips to the warm glass behind me. Shakily, my hands moved down to his wet jeans, fumbling to get his belt undone. His hands covered mine and helped me the rest of the way. He pulled both his jeans and briefs down in one smooth swipe. I gasped slightly when his cock sprung free and brushed against my inner thigh.

I bit my lip nervously and looked up at him, his eyes were latched onto mine like I was the one holding him down to earth. He brought his hands around my backside and lifted me up to his waist, positioning me so that he was right at my entrance.

“I want you so bad, Tamara. You are so beautiful,” he whispered against my neck, kissing the skin there easily. I let my head fall back and moaned when he started sucking at the skin there slowly.

“Mmm, how could I be beautiful like this?” I managed to speak despite my drunken stupor.

“Oh, honey, you have always been beautiful.” He pulled away and I looked into his eyes, just as he entered me in one swift movement.

“Uh!” I moaned aloud. He filled me so completely, from every crevice inside of me.

“Oh fuck, you feel so good,” he groaned deep in his chest.

I had to hold on tightly to his shoulders as he moved inside of me. He held my hips firmly in place as he stroked me, simultaneously attacking my neck with his skilled mouth. I moved my hands to his hair, fisting my hands tightly. As I thought of everything he had done to me, and the fact that I was there having sex with him, I dug my nails deeper into his scalp, until I was sure it would hurt.

“Ha, mmm, Tamara.” He laughed slightly, knowing what I was doing. I yanked his head back with one hand while I cupped his mouth with the other, making his lips pucker from how tightly I was doing it.

I attacked his mouth with my own, invading his mouth with my tongue. He moaned against my mouth, unfortunately enjoying my rough behavior. I could feel myself getting close to my climax, I was surprised I lasted that long. I moved my hand down his sculpted back, dragging my nails across as I came undone.

“Uhm-oh my God!” I cried out, basking in the pleasure he brought me. He came soon after me, stilling inside of me.

“No!” I pushed him out before he could ejaculate inside of me. He lowered me back down as he rode out his orgasm, his seed falling in oozing spurts on my leg.

“I haven’t taken birth control since…” I explained my sudden outburst. He nodded slowly, obviously still recovering. It must have been a long time since he’d had any too.

He ran his hand through his now wet hair and stepped back under the water. I used the sponge to wipe off his remnants and rinse one more time. I was very unsure of what to do, but when he turned around and kissed me once more, I don’t think I cared.

“What does this mean?” I asked him. I would be stupid to think he was going to let me go or anything, just yesterday he said that same ominous thing about people being in danger and nothing being solved yet.

“It means you are more than just my captive.”

“Wake up! Boss says it’s shower time.” Justin’s harsh voice forced me awake.

“Come on, let’s go.” He grabbed my arm roughly and dragged me out of the room. The bright lights hurt my eyes so much I had to close them…déjà vu? I didn’t even want to let myself think about the dream I was forced out of…I didn’t even want to think about thinking about it.

“You have ten minutes. If I hear anything funny, I’m coming in.” He shoved me inside and slammed the door behind me.

I looked around, the bathroom looked like an old country one would. There was one standing sink against the wall with an oval shaped mirror, and the shower was closed off with glass walls. Everything was a pristine brown color, like a horse or something.

I turned the water on so it could get hot while I undressed. It hurt even to just pull my shirt over my head and take my shorts off. My body had been restricted to only two positions: bent over or rolled up like a ball.

I avoided looking at myself in the mirror, already knowing what I would see. I stepped under the warm water, still surprised that I even had shower time. I washed quickly, not wanting to go over my allotted time. The last thing I needed was Justin barging in there and screaming like he liked to do. My hair was a lost cause, it was so badly matted there was nothing I could do. I left it alone and finished up my shower, putting on the clothes I assumed were for me. They looked just like the ones I had on before.

“I’m done, you can take me back to my cell now,” I snapped as I brushed past Justin.

“Ah, ah, ah, not so fast. There’s something else on schedule for you today.” He grabbed me and pulled me in the opposite direction of the house.

“Ouch, let me go!” His grip on my arm was so tight I could feel it in my bone.

“Mmm, you smell nice.” He leaned in closer to my neck, practically dragging me in front of his body so that my back was to his chest.

“She’s ready to go, boss.” He pushed me into an open room, where Dan was seated behind a computer. There was a camera set up in front of a single chair perched in front of a large black sheet.

“Sit there.” He pointed to the chair and looked at me meaningfully. When our eyes met, we both looked away quickly. I didn’t know why he did, but I couldn’t look at him after-- don’t think about it.

“What is going on?” I asked. I cleared my throat, it was permanently dry.

“Shut up, bitch,” Justin snapped and sat down behind the desk next to Dan.

“Drink this.” Dan stood up and handed me a glass of water. “You are going to be making a video.” I furrowed my brow in confusion but drank the tall glass of water greedily.

“For who?” I asked when I had finished.

“Rory Corporation.”

Chapter Four: Dan

I woke up in the pitch black darkness and immediately thought of Tamara. That was what she saw everyday…the humanity in me surfaced and wanted to do something about it, but I dozed off again.

The rising sun brought me back to. I rose from the bed and sat on the edge, staring out into the sun. I always loved the rising sun, I had a weak spot for it and it made me think. Tamara hadn’t seen the sun in fourteen days, I couldn’t imagine how I would feel if that were me.

I got dressed and went to find Justin, succeeding when I got to the living room.

“You’re already awake?” I asked him.

“I could say the same thing to you.” He laughed.

“Anyways, I need you to being breakfast to Tamara. I have some errand to run.”

“Pfft, she could go without breakfast for one day, I’m watching yesterday’s highlights.” I growled at him angrily and stood in front of the television, blocking his view.

“Hey! What’s the problem, man?” He shouted.

“You’re the problem, you need to get your shit together and get in the game, now go make her breakfast. I’ll be back late afternoon,” I said firmly and left, trusting that he would do what I said. Why couldn’t people just listen to me?

I left the house and drove off in the truck, my first stop was to dump it. I drove about an hour until I got to the lake, where I burned the plates and then pushed it into the river. It didn’t take long for it to sink. I started the trek to the car rental place, it was only three miles away. For once since the whole thing started, I had time to be by myself, not just in another room, but far away from the person I had become. I wasn’t mad though, it is a necessary evil. But that moment, walking under the sun, was just what I needed.

I saw the sign for the car rental place up ahead, I didn’t even break a sweat on this walk.

“Hello there, what can I do you for?” Despite our northern residence, he had a very country accent.

“Hi, I need to rent a car.”

“Anything in particular?” He rose from his comfortable position on his reclining desk chair and came around the desk.

“No, just something practical.”

“Okay, follow me.” He led me back outside and to the lot, where he showed me a plethora of cars.

“I’ll take this one,” I told him, pointing to the black Chrysler sedan.

“Alright, let me just get your paperwork and I’ll hand over the keys.” He led me back into his office, where I showed him my forged driver’s license. He did some scribbling on a paper, had me sign a contract, and then he handed me the keys.

I went to my next stop, the grocery store, right after. I stayed hidden under the baseball cap and got what I needed quickly. I picked up some more oatmeal and stopped in the canned food aisle, I had a moment of softness wash over me and grabbed a can of chunky soup, it was my favorite back in college.

The cashier gave me a weird look as she scanned my items, it was only frozen dinners and two rolls of tape, I didn’t know what the big deal was.

“Is this it for you, sir?” She looked up at me and batted her eyes. Oh give me a break.

“Yep,” I said shortly. The few friends I had always asked why I didn’t notice women looking at me, I honestly didn’t know. The only relationship I ever had…never mind.
