Nikhil grinned smugly. “That was
their
big mistake.”

Ulrich laughed. “No kidding. So there we were getting harassed by these greasy rednecks in dog collars. We were scared shitless and trying to map out an exit strategy when Manning calmly walked over and told the assholes to leave us alone. They refused, of course. Started talking smack and making threats. Next thing we knew, Manning dropkicked one dude and smashed a chair over the other guy’s head.”

“I think it was two chairs,” Nikhil gleefully corrected. “One right after the other.”

“I think you’re right.” Ulrich beamed. “It all happened so fast. When the dust settled, the bikers were out cold on the floor and Manning had barely broken a sweat. I kid you not, Taylor. It was like some scene out of a movie.”

“I believe it,” she murmured with a smile. “I’ve seen him in action.”

Ulrich grinned broadly. “After the bar owner told us all to scram, Manning walked us outside and asked if we were all right. Then he got up in our faces and told us to keep our candy asses on the other side of town before we got ourselves killed.”

Skip sighed poignantly. “And thus began our lifelong friendship with the Wolfster.”

Everyone laughed.

Everyone but Manning, who had tuned out the conversation as he stood in front of the whiteboard, his eyes narrowed in concentration as he mulled over the complex equation. If left alone, he’d probably have it solved in no time.

“After that night,” Skip continued, reclaiming Taylor’s attention, “Manning started letting us hang out with him. It was awesome. We were getting into the best nightclubs and meeting hot babes who never would have talked to us if we weren’t with Manning.”

“No kidding,” Ulrich chimed in. “He was a total chick magnet. Had women of every color of the rainbow throwing themselves at him. But it didn’t really faze him. Don’t get me wrong. He got laid—”

Lucas elbowed Ulrich sharply in the ribs.

“Er, I mean, he occasionally availed himself of, uh, the ladies’ hospitality. But it never meant anything to him, and he never got serious about anyone. He was always searching for a certain type. For starters, she had to be really smart—”

“With a sweet personality.”

“And quirky. He liked quirkiness.”

“He liked artistic types too. Preferred them, actually.”

“And brown skin,” Lucas added. “He insisted on her having ‘beautiful brown skin.’”

Taylor blushed as four pairs of eyes settled on her with sudden comprehension.

“We always wondered why he could never find just what he was looking for,” Skip mused, smiling softly at Taylor. “And then he got drunk one night. Shitfaced drunk. But he wasn’t the type who got loud and obnoxious and totally out of hand. No, he was the stone-cold serious type of drunk. The only reason we knew he was trashed is because he talked a whole lot more than usual. We all thought it was kinda funny until he got sentimental on us, started waxing poetic about a girl from high school who broke his heart. After that we just felt sorry for him. And that’s how we learned all about you, Taylor. The one that got away.”

Taylor smiled quietly, her gaze traveling to Manning. He was no longer studying the whiteboard with focused absorption. He was gazing at her, his eyes soft and glowing with love.

She wanted to run to him, throw her arms around his neck and kiss him breathless. As much as she was enjoying his friends’ company, she suddenly wanted to leave and be alone with him.

He must have felt the same, because he left the whiteboard and started back toward her, each step heightening her yearning for him. When he reached her side, he took her hand and threaded his fingers through hers.

His friends traded quiet, knowing smiles.

“Taylor and I are heading out for the day,” Manning announced, holding her gaze. “So you fellas can get back to doing whatever it is you were doing.”

“Roger that, captain.” They mimicked the sound of a whip cracking.

“Are we still allowed to attend your family’s cookout tomorrow?” Nikhil asked meekly.

“Hmm. I’ll think about it,” Manning said with mock austerity. “Just because you guys own shares in the company doesn’t mean you’re entitled to holidays off.”

They laughed.

Skip playfully slung an arm around Manning’s shoulders and winked at Taylor. “He lured us all away from our jobs when he started this company. In exchange for this tricked-out man cave, we graciously allow him to be the pretty face of Wolf Biotech while we toil in obscurity in the bowels of this fortress.”

Manning grinned. “Get the hell outta here,” he scoffed as everyone laughed.

“Hey, maybe Taylor can join us at Comic Con next year?” Lucas suggested.

“Comic Con?” Taylor repeated blankly.

“Yeah. It’s an annual fan convention—”

Taylor laughed. “I know what it is. I just…” She trailed off, staring incredulously at Manning. “Wait. Have
you
been to Comic Con?”

The fellas chuckled. “Has he been?
He goes every year.”

What!
” Taylor exclaimed in shock.

Manning looked adorably embarrassed.

“It wasn’t easy getting him to that first one,” Ulrich said humorously. “He thought it’d be totally lame, and he was worried about protecting his street cred. But after much pleading and bargaining and browbeating, we finally convinced him to go with us. He went as Darth Vader, and he had such a great time that he started joining us every year.”

Manning scowled. “No one outside this room can ever know that,” he warned gruffly.

Everyone burst out laughing.

“It was nice meeting you, fellas,” Taylor said warmly.

“The pleasure was ours.” They raised their palms to her in the Vulcan salute from
Star Trek
.

When she returned the gesture, they roared with approval. “Hell yeah! She’s a keeper!”

Manning and Taylor were still grinning as they left the room.

“Those guys are fun,” Taylor enthused. “I like them.”

“Seems the feeling is mutual.”

Taylor sighed. “I just love nerds. We rock.”

Manning laughed. “We do indeed.”

On their way back to the elevator, Manning suddenly veered off down another hallway, tugging Taylor along after him. Puzzled, she watched as he stopped at a locked door and inserted his key card into the panel. He pulled her through the door and closed it behind them.

As he deftly entered a password into the keypad on the wall, she glanced around curiously. The room was empty and small, barely the size of a storage closet. Bright fluorescent lights illuminated cool gray walls and white tile floors.

When Taylor turned back to Manning, he cupped her face in his hands and slanted his mouth over hers. She moaned softly, closing her eyes as he backed her against the wall. He sipped at her lips, sliding his tongue over them until they tingled and her nipples hardened. Her arms went around his neck as he licked the seam of her mouth, coaxing her to open for him. The way his tongue stroked hers made wetness leak from her pussy. The man could bring her to orgasm with just a kiss.

“What is this place?” she managed to whisper.

“An old equipment room.” He licked the inside of her cheek. “I couldn’t wait to get you upstairs. I need to fuck you now. And I need to fuck you hard.”

Oh my!
If Taylor hadn’t been turned on before,
that
definitely would have done the trick. “But what if someone comes in and catches us?”

“Hardly anyone uses this room anymore. But just to be safe, I locked the door using an override code.”

“Well, damn, Mr. CEO.”

His chuckle was low and deliciously wicked.

Taylor trembled against the wall as he slowly sank to his haunches and reached under her breezy summer skirt.

“You chose a perfect day to wear this,” he rumbled approvingly.

She shivered as he grasped the waistband of her lacy panties and slowly pulled downward, dragging the scrap of material off her legs. When she stepped free, he stuffed the underwear into the pocket of his lab coat.

“You won’t be needing panties for the rest of the day,” he informed her.

Her mouth ran dry. “Not even on the ride home?”

“Not even.” His eyes glittered up at her, radiating primal heat. “I intend to fuck you with my fingers on the way home. So I’ll need unlimited access.”

Taylor’s knees almost gave out on her.

Before she could say another word, Manning shoved her skirt up and lowered his mouth to the pulsing folds of her pussy. Her back bowed, and she cried out at the hot lash of his tongue.

Growling with satisfaction, he slowly licked her clit, teasing and tormenting the sensitive bundle of nerves. She closed her eyes, pleasure sweeping through her blood like fire.

Hooking her right leg over his shoulder, Manning pressed his mouth deeper, sucking her cleft with slow, hungry licks that had her gasping for breath.

She rocked her hips against his face as tears gathered behind her eyelids. No man had ever gone down on her the way Manning Wolf did. It was insane. And addictive.
Highly
addictive.

As his tongue stroked the swollen lips of her labia, she dazedly opened her eyes and looked down at him. Her mind was blown by the sight of him on his knees before her, his head buried between her shaking thighs.

“You taste so fucking good, Tay,” he growled hoarsely. “I can’t get enough of your sweet pussy. I could devour you for days.”

She whimpered, his guttural words driving her wild. He watched her writhe against his lips, his eyes glittering with fierce satisfaction and lust.

Holding her gaze, he rimmed the opening to her pussy, his tongue flicking and swirling before plunging inside. She keened in ecstasy, her hands flying to his shoulders and grasping for purchase as he fucked her with his mouth.

A few more seconds was all she could take.

As her orgasm erupted through her, she screamed his name, not caring where they were, not caring if anyone walked past the door and heard her.

Manning groaned, the sound vibrating against her pulsing flesh as he lapped up the hot juices that rushed out of her. Even as she went lax against the wall, he kept his mouth on her, his tongue circling the entrance to her pussy until she felt her nerve endings tightening.

When he drew her clit between his lips and sucked the tender bud, she came again with a thready cry, her hands gripping the back of his head as her legs shook uncontrollably from the onslaught of sensation.

Whispering husky endearments, Manning slipped his arms around her and surged to his feet, lifting her with him. When she wrapped her trembling legs around his back, he leaned down and captured her mouth with his. Her eyes fluttered closed as he kissed her, his lips brushing hers with a gentleness that was a direct contradiction to the raging insistence of his erection.

Slowly parting her lips, he slid his tongue between them. She could taste herself in his mouth, and it sent a violent shiver of arousal through her. She didn’t think she could come again right after experiencing two explosive orgasms. But when Manning reached down and rubbed the pad of his thumb against her slit, her throaty moan of pleasure let them both know she was ready for more.

Anchoring her against the wall, he unbuckled his belt and lowered his zipper. Her pulse pounded with anticipation as he fisted his hard cock and guided it to her slick opening.

Their eyes locked as he slowly entered her, pushing through her swollen flesh inch by inch. The gradual penetration felt so good she almost wept. By the time his throbbing dick was fully sheathed, she was clawing at his round butt, desperate to feel him thrusting into her.

He shuddered against her, letting out a husky laugh. “Greedy little minx.”

“Fuck me, Manning,” she whispered. “Fuck me.
Please
.”

His eyes gleamed as he caged her to the wall with both arms. “Are you begging?”

“I will if I have to.” She had no shame whatsoever.

“Mmmm.”

She whimpered in protest as he pulled out of her, leaving just the engorged head of his cock inside her. Chest heaving, hands pressed flat to the wall on either side of her head, he stared down into her eyes. He looked so sexy and devious, so primitively male, that she wanted to devour him. She licked the seam of his lips, achingly aware of the burning spot where their bodies were barely joined.

“Manning…baby—” Her soft plea broke off into a keening wail as he slammed back into her, sinking balls-deep in one ferocious thrust.

Shuddering hard, he buried his face in her neck and growled harshly, “
Fuck
.”

“Yes,” Taylor panted, “let’s do that.”

His muffled laughter dissolved into a guttural groan when she tightened her muscles around his cock. Needing no further encouragement, he began thrusting into her, nailing her hips to the wall with fiercely savage strokes.

She gasped for breath, pleasure spearing through her with every stab of his body into hers. She was on fire, her skin hot enough to incinerate the layers of clothing between them.

Groaning her name, Manning plunged harder and faster, his dick stroking every part of her, leaving no erogenous zone untouched. When she raked her nails down his flexing ass, he seized her wrists and pinned them high above her head. The dominant move aroused her, dialing up her need to fever pitch.

Pressing her lips to his ear, she breathed, “Talk geek to me.”

He choked out a laugh, his breath gusting hotly against her cheek. “Right now?”

She sucked his earlobe. “Right now.”

“Umm…” Without breaking his rhythm, he began whispering to her about static and kinetic coefficients of friction, about the frictional resistance between two surfaces in motion. The rough-velvet rasp of his voice made the scientific mumbo jumbo sound as sinfully erotic as any dirty words he could have spoken.

Taylor’s pussy creamed as he fucked her relentlessly, the force of his thrusts lifting her up and down the wall. The pleasure was so raw and intense, she thought every cell in her body would shatter from the seismic overload of sensation.

“…and
boom
,” Manning whispered as they exploded together, his cum pulsing violently into her. “Spontaneous combustion…”
